Jacob Mulenga has been dropped by Honour Janza while Under-20 captain and midfielder Lubambo Musonda gets the nod for Zambia’s last two 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifying matches.
Jacob, of Adana Demirspor in Turkey, is not on the 26-member team Janza has named for the November 15 visit to Mozambique in Maputo and the big grudge match against Cape Verde on November 19 in Ndola.
It is the first time since Jacob made his senior debut in 2003 that he has been dropped for anything rather than injury.
Meanwhile, Lubambo of Armenian club FC Ulisses returns to the team for the first time since June 6 when he came on as a late substitute to score a wonder goal in Zambia’s 4-3 friendly loss to Japan in Florida, USA.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form for the runaway Armenian league leaders since joining them in August from FAZ Super Division side Power Dynamos.
Also back is Bloemfontein Celtic defender Davies Nkausu who returns after a long injury layoff.
Nkausu returns to give Janza more options at right back where Nkana’s Donashano Malama has ably replaced the underperforming Kabaso Chongo of TP Mazembe.
Janza has also brought in Under-17 midfielder Changwe Kalale from FAZ Division One North side Chambishi.
Defender Aaron Katebe of FC Platinum in Zimbabwe and Green eagles midfielder Spencer Sautu who both featured in the October 25 1-1 friendly draw against against Cote d’Ivoire in Lusaka are in the team.
Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba who scored Zambia’s goal in that friendly keeps his place but TP Mazembe striker Jonas Sakuwaha who also featured in that match has been snubbed.
Nchanga goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata returns and replaces Joshua Titima of Power.
TEAM:
Goalkeepers: Kennedy Mweene (Mamelodi Sundowns,South Africa), Danny Munyau (Red Arrows), Toaster Nsabata (Nchanga Rangers)
Defenders: Christopher Munthali, Donashano Malama (Both Nkana), Emmanuel Mbola (Hapoel Ra’anana, Israel), Stopilla Sunzu (Sochaux, France), Nyambe Mulenga (Zesco United), Kabaso Chongo (TP Mazembe,DR Congo), Davies Nkausu (Bloemfontein Celtic, South Africa), Aaron Katebe (FC Platinum, Zimbabwe)
Midfielders: Nathan Sinkala (Grasshopper,Switzerland), Chisamba Lungu (FC Ural,Russia), Rainford Kalaba (TP Mazembe,DR Congo), Bruce Musakanya, Shadreck Malambo(Both Red Arrows), Lubambo Musonda (FC Ulisses,Armenia), Roderick Kabwe Charles Zulu (Both Zanaco), Spencer Sautu (Green Eagles), Changwe Kalale (Chambishi FC)
Strikers: Emmanuel Mayuka (Southampton,England) Ronald Kampamba (Nkana), James Chamanga (Liaoning Whowin,China), Given Singuluma (TP Mazembe, DR Congo), Patrick Ngoma (Red Arrows)
ThE return of Nkausu is good news and Hichani Himonde needs assessment as well because there are serious defence lapses. Munthali is very erratic in defence Nsunzu needs a partner he understands well.
Jacob is too slow I do not understand how he manages to score at his club.
Good squad indeed. Good squad. Weldone Janza.
I don’t we have a good team. Maybe we can win the remaining two matches by employing good tactics. Just thinking loud.
this Honour janza is on a path of doing dishonour to zambia. How can he start calling nonentities when we are in a do or die situ. Can faz fire dishonour janza before he honours his promise of making sure zambia does not qualify.
Cant agree with you more…this man is not serious, Jacob is playing, scoring and very experienced…we are definately not going to Afon! Anyway with Ebola on the loose, just maybe it is worth it…

Honour Janza, as we mourn our gallant leader his excellency Mr. M.C. Sata, its my Hubble appeal to you and FAZ not to put us in shock of not qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations through your hatred of prolific strikers like Evan Kangwa for that James Chamanga. If you have failed to pick a forcefully national squad just resign its not to late than come and say sorry when we are out of contention. To remind you Evan Kangwa has scored three times in the last two games he played for his club. Kindly tell the nation what James Chamanga has done for his club in China in the Last two games.
