Esther Phiri shrugged off some rust on Saturday ended her two year exile from the ring with a low key win in Lusaka.
The former Womens IBO and WIBA light welterweight champion came out of retirement to fight her way to an unanimous points win over Everlyn Odoro of Kenya in Lusaka.
Esther slugged her way to victory in the two fighters eight-round, non-title fight held at Chez Ntemba International Dancing Club, Lusaka.
“On 20th April we are going to see another Esther fight,” her trainer Anthony Mwamba said.
The victory extended Esther’s record to 14 wins, one loss and two draws.
