The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has expressed confidence that Zambia will uphold democracy during the January 20, 2015 presidential election.
SADC Executive Secretary Stergomena Tax said there was no doubt that Zambians will hold a free and fair election because the country has been democratic for a long time.
Dr. Tax told ZANIS in an interview in Maputo that the entire SADC region believes that the democracy that has always prevailed in the past elections in Zambia will be upheld even in next week’s poll.
She however appealed to the people of Zambia to remain calm, peaceful and tolerant towards one another.
Dr. Tax further advised Zambians to respect the will of the people by accepting the outcome of the results noting that despite having intensive campaigns by various candidates, only one can emerge as winner.
She has since assured the country of SADC’s support during the elections.
They will not be to the loser , as is the norm

It the same question Ingombe Ilede was asking about Edgar last night. Instead of coming to waste time on the MUVI tv kangaroo court, the team is on the ground where people do not watch MAFI tv. If you want to see them on MAFI tv it will not happen but the real people in KAPUTA, SHIWANGANDU, DUNDU MWENZE, NAMWALA, SINAZEZE are still seeing and receiving these friends of the PF .
@Brickforce wire. Surely HH will not rest for the few weeks to come. While Edgar will be toasting shampaign, HH will be under pressure to explain to the donors on how campaign money was spent. MUTATI, GBM , MAURREEN, MUSKOTWANE, MILUPI and all UPND cadres will be looking for him to explain how he misled them in believing he would win an election and will be demanding for refunds. There will surely be no rest for the man. You are right.

SADCC are a let down they only support government whether they are following the rules or not. We heard no comment from them following all the violence in Zambia and now they think the vote will be free and fair, my foot. The beauty is that Zambians have woken up from their slumber and you cannot cheat them no more. There will be tears on Thursday from those who depend on government for their upkeep.
SADC are yet to have a viable ETHIC CODE. They are still a snare to themselves.
