Arrows Take An Easy Swim Across The Ocean

Red Arrows this afternoon record an important home win in the Caf Confederations Cup when they defeated Nigerian side Ocean Boys 2-0 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Arrows were in control from beginning to end against an Ocean Boys who failed to leave up the top billing that has preceded Nigerian sides that have hit our local pitches.

The hosts took the lead in the 3rd minute of the first half through Timothy Mbewe before defender Richard Phiri made it 2-0 twenty five minutes later.

The two sides play their final leg decider in Abuja during the weekend of  April 4-5.

Meanwhile, in other international matches played today, Malawi Under-17 arrived an hour later for their junior friendly international against their Zambian counterparts at Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka to win 2-0.

Malawi were using the match as part of their build-up for their participation in the Algeria 2009 Caf Africa Under-17 Championship that kicks off in Algiers on March 19.

  1. They story says when they “defeated beat” ocean side….please editor do a good job. Anyway, congrats to arrows…shoot well when you go to Nigeria.

  2. It seems that the Zambian league is improving. brothers and sisters back home please attend league matches and buy local soccer jersey to improve the Zambian player’s lives there. I know this may sound crazy to some but this is how things should work.

  3. continued #3… look at the Angolan Girabola league for example, sponsors are fighting for advertising spaces on the local soccer jerseys simply because of the keen interest the locals are showing towards their league. if you don’t attend…

  4. continued #4… if you don’t attend, no one would even bother putting an advertising board near the stadiums. please attend.

  5. Please don’t say “This afternoon” in Internet articles, be specific like “.. afternoon on Saturday 14 March….” or something like that. Not everyone will read your article same day. in fact most people may read it several days later.

  6. You’re just going to have to take your chances on mail ordrering when it comes to sizes but most come in pretty close to sizes for other clothing.
