President Edgar Lungu has directed Patriotic Front (PF) party officials across the country not to interfere with the work of government officials because they are carrying out his mandate.
Mr Lungu said all government officials inspecting and supervising developmental projects are doing so on his behalf and that anyone frustrating them is frustrating him as President.
Mr Lungu was speaking on arrival at Solwezi airport this morning.
He said government officials do not need permission from party cadres to implement his mandate in any part of the country.
Speaking earlier, North Western province minister Dawson Kafwaya thanked the President for fulfilling the promises he made of ensuring that the Solwezi – Chingola and township roads in the province are worked on.
President Lungu is in the North Western province for a three-day working visit and is expected to commission the construction of the Solwezi – Chingola road, as well as township roads in Solwezi, Kasempa, Zambezi and Chavuma districts.
The President is accompanied by State House Deputy Minister Mulenga Sata, Lands minister Christabel Ngimbu and State House officials.
The President was received by Provincial minister Dawson Kafwaya, Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga, PF provincial chairman Fabian Chiposo and other senior government and party officials.
