Republican President Edgar Lungu has warned ‘erring’ contractors engaged by government of legal action.

President Lungu says government is in the processing of assessing the quality and pace of works by local contractors saying that his administration will not only cancel contracts but also seek legal redress and compensation through the courts of law on all wanting contractors.

Mr. Lungu explained that this is because the contracts were entered into contract with government on behalf of the people of Zambia.

ZANIS reports that the Republucan President said this in Mwansabombwe District in Luapula Province yesterday during this year’s Mutomboko Traditional Ceremony of the Lunda people of Mwata Kazembe.

And President Lungu has disclosed that government has in collaboration with the African Development Bank constructed ten boreholes in Mwansabombwe district to provide safe and clean drinking water in the area.

He added a further K500,000.00 has been provided by his administration for the construction of fifteen more boreholes in the area.

Mr. Lungu said government has also embarked on the Kazembe piped water scheme project to improve access to clean and safe water to benefit more households in the biggest village in Africa.

President Lungu stated that government’s quest to provide tertiary education and life skills for the youth of Luapula, has reinvigorated its commitment to ensure that the planned construction of the Luapula University in Mansa, Mwense Trades Training Institute and Nchelenge College of Mathematics and Science becomes a reality.

He said the measure will decongest the over populated public High Institutions of learning.

And Mutomboko Traditional Ceremony Organising Committee Chairman General Criticles Mwansa thanked Government for the various developmental projects taking place in the district and implored Government to work on the Mansa Kashikishi –Lunchinda road because it is a lifeblood for the people.

The road is in the Link-Zambia 2,000 road project and appears in phase three.

  1. I am not sure how Lungu and his coterie of Eurobond thieves will take any legal action against contractors who do not finish their projects. As Chikwanda confessed last year, the kickbacks that PFools are taking have their hands bound. They are tainted and are part of the problem of unfinished roads, load shedding, no work at KKIA at all, no progress at Zesco and ZRL. Lungu is just posturing and lying through his buck teeth.

  2. We all know that this will NOT happen. Every contractor engaged to do any project above k1M is connected to the ruling elite or is a front for someone in govt. Apparently this is the new norm.

    • I will only believe it when it happens and that will be a first for his presidency. No plan, No vision. Clueless.

    • Our lovely president HEECL loves development . He is encouraging all youths to participate in developing country for better zambia. This man mwandini has a heart for mother Zambia. He is hero to everyone in zambia. We zambians love him dearly.
Mr Lungu deserves to be called Dr Lungu. This man is really developing zambia. see all new roads done by his excellence. PF is working bane. Just in 6 months the president has developed zambia. Vote PF in 2016

  3. Utter rubbish from the lazy bum Edgar, who are you going to take legal action against? Companies owned by your useless ministers? This is merely hollow noise by this empty tin to illiterates!!

  4. You lazy chap! Tell this piece of sh!t to your wife! You talk of something that you know too well you don’t believe in and it can never happen!

    • Those arrangements used to happen in mmd erra not anymore bafimbwi. Can you point at the promise the president has failed to fulfil.
Mind you he never made a mountain of promises like yo fellow chimbwi. Just watch the space as some of the contractors will soon begin to dance to the tunes and as usual you same fulls will start saying leave contractors alone.

  5. A LUNGU ANABWERA FOR SURE! TALKIN OF EXPANDING TERTIARY EDUCATION AND YOU CANT EVEN RUN THE INSTITUTIONS WE HAVE NOW. THEN HE DOUBLES DOWN ON THE JOKE AND SAYS HE WILL GO AFTER WANTING CONTRACTORS. KEKEKEKE START WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION WHICH TIME AND AGAIN HAS FAILED TO MEET THE CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS OF SERVICE FOR LECTURERS AND OTHER EMPLOYEES. LUNGU HAS STILL NOT SAID ANYTHING I MEAN ANYTHING ABOUT CBU. IF THIS INVOLVED ZAMBIA BREWERIES STATE HOUSE WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE MATTER WEEKS AGO. PLEASE OPEN CBU!

  6. Words from a proven failure(PF) should not be believed. A failure will give you all sorts stories but no action, vision or focus. Lungu is that guy. Can he point at real success he has achieved like enacting the constitution, fixing the economy, creating white collar jobs for our people etc let alone can he point at the Management success he has had like CBU(failed), Zesco(failed), fuel(failed), taxes (failed) among others. In short, Lungu has proven he is incapable of managing or building our great nation. LUNGU MUST GO. 2016 ZAMBIANS MAKE SURE YOU VOTE FOR YOUR FUTURE – HH OR NAWAKAI

  7. Let me talk about something out of topic. I’m concerned about the forth coming recruitment of teachers. Corruption has reached unprecedented levels in this country, and here I’m talking about how potential teachers are acquiring papers (qualifications)! I have seen 11 people I know who have never been to any college but have Diploma certificates from Nkhurumah and Cosetco and these will soon be teachers who will be handling our children in schools! When I carried out my investigations I discovered all people involved are connected to senior government officials and they have all applied in rural areas where they cannot be easily known. DEBS in rural places scrutinize these certificates properly please!

  8. Good Edgar, well started and performing well just six months in office. Continue on the same path and 2016 will be delivered to you on a silver, or even gold platter.
Forgot the good for nothing detractors, who know nothing but making unpleasant noises like what the Bembas would call ifisushi.

  9. Terrible, well said. I may add to that by suggesting that chibwantu, umunkoyo, tobwa and maheu in that order make good quality ifisushi.

  10. Boreholes are just a waste of money. They work for 3 months and they get broken. How many have been sunk in Zambia? There is simply no maintenance!

  11. @terrible tayali and Advisor! You are both very dull! Your Edgar is talking about building universities in Luapula when they are failing to manage the existing structures! The Govt is broke, one wonders where they will get the money for projects he is talking about! In your confused directionless minds you believe this is development. For how long can you sustain that can’t of borrowing? Zambians are not idi0ts whom you think you can continue lying to. Edgar doesn’t believe in whatever he is saying and he knows too well that what he is doing is very wrong, all he wants is to remain in power beyond 2016. The man has no morals and I really doubt his credentials as a lawyer!
