Investigative wings handling Ng’andu Magande’s letter

Share

THE Government has said that all documentation regarding the Zambian Airways financial irregularities, including former Finance and National Planning minister, Ng’andu Magande’s letter to communications and Transport Minister, Dora Siliya, are already with the investigative wings.

Speaking in an interview in Lusaka yesterday, chief Government spokesperson, Ronnie Shikapwasha said that all the evidence pertaining to Zambian Airways, which in January suspended operations, was with the three investigative wings probing the matter.

Lieutenant-General Shikapwasha, who is Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, was commenting on Mr Magande’s challenge to President Rupiah Banda or any individual to avail acting Inspector General of Police Francis Kabonde copies of the letter.

“The Government’s investigative wings are handling the Zambian Airways issue and as such there is no need of setting up a tribunal. The letter by Mr Magande to Ms Siliya and anything else is with the investigative wings,” Lt Gen Shikapwasha said.

He pointed out that the Drug Enforcement Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Zambia Police Service would, apart from relying on written documentation, call all the possible suspects and witnesses in the matter.

“The people will also be called and the Government has confidence in the investigative wings. The public will be informed of the outcome at an appropriate time,” Lt Gen Shikapwasha said.

  1. People aint posting as much as they used to do, wonder whats the matter. Anyway, GRZ seems to have embarked on a very expensive fishing expedition. They absolutely don’t seem to know what they are doing. They are groping in the dark, much like the case of one blind man (RB) leading another (MMD). Clueless on what steps to take.

  2. OK, now my question from the other thread has been answered; so this is how far the case has gone. I think there’s still a long way to go before the verdict.

    • Thats news to me!! were did you get that information from? please update! If Mulongoti has been fired….well and good!!

    • Baby C sorry abt that darlg. Was asking where Mulongoti is, last time I heard of Shikapwesha
he was minister of defence, today the above article says he is minister of infro…..and that was
      Mulongoti’s minstry some time back.

  3. Hmmm! looks like its the battle of the wits! MMD Vs Magande, Post Vs MMD , PF Vs MMD!!!

Looks like MMD is a problem! I wonder who will be in the last two!!!!

  4. Uyoo there he goes again!!! I mean Ronnie. Why are you so defensive. Let the AMAPINDO do their job unless you are afraid that the truth will be different from what you want it to be?

  5. By the way why punicking, and why has taken so long with 3 investigative wings?shikapwasha should just shut his mouth until their amapindo finishes thier so called investigations.

  6. If I were to meet LPM, in the second life , with all the rest I have for him ,I would want to ask him one quesition. DR LPM ,what did you see in RB to have made him VP, Shikapwasha,Teta to have made them ministers ? These guys are” air-heads” .

  7. If Magande is guilty then so is RB, firstly, RB revealed he had proof of a letter, how did he know about it? My guess is, he was well aware of the goings on at the time he was vice president then acting president, how can he think he can come out with a clean slate in all this?RB knows the whole exact story but has outed his friend before he himself can be put under the microscope, thus deflecting the attention to Magande. RB should not think he’s very clever because he will find himself in the whole mess president or not.

  8. RB should learn from Obama. The young man is handling serious issues and coming up with possible solution for the economy. Not this crap our Govt is spending time on. When shall we develop. Is this the calibre of our leaders sure.

    • Yes this is the calibre of our leaders. Until Intelligent Zambians stop abdicating their responsibilty the status quo remains

  9. Zambians be serious, there is nothing to investigate about Magande’s letter. Use your common sense, if Magande had parroted RB, today, Magande would still be Minister of Finance. This is total childish vindictive politics. Magande is a very good leader and that honest piece of advice to this form 3 failure Dora was spot on. I don’t care what degrees Dora got using her body in Chiluba’s days but surely, she is not an intellectual. I am sorry to say but she is NOT.
