Faz and Barclays Bank Zambia PLC have launched a new 16-team cup competition to be known as the Barclays Cup that kicks off next weekend on August 18.
The Barclays Cup will promise the current top 6 teams from the Premier league and Division 1 while another top 4 team’s will come from Division 2 will complete the competition.
The winners will take home K90 million.
Draws for the tournament will be made tomorrow in Lusaka.
-Zanaco have appointed senior players Kelvin Kaindu and captain Numba Mumamba as interim coaches at the struggling defending league champions following the sacking of head coach Fighton Simukonda and his assistant Weston Mumba on Monday.

Mumamba and Kaindu will be in charge of Zanaco on Wednesday when the team faces relegation troubled Zamtel at Musa Kasonka in a Week 22 fixture.
Simukonda and Mumba were fired on Monday following a spate of poor results.
Their departure was hastened after Zanaco’s 1-0 home defeat last Saturday against 2004 league champions Red Arrows- the latter the club they succeeded as top-flight champions.
Zanaco’s defeat against Arrows left them trailing 14 points behind leaders Zesco United on 33 and 46 points respectively after 21 games going into Wednesday Week 22 matches.
