FAZ PREMIER LEAGUE WEEK 13 MATCH REPORTS.
ZESCO 2- FOREST 1.
Wedson Nyirenda’s Zesco United beat visiting local rivals Forest Rangers 2-1 this afternoon at the Trade Fair Ground in the two sides’ Ndola derby to stay unbeaten for an eighth successive league game.
Zesco are also without a loss at home in six straight league games at home base this year.
However, the leaders had to come from behind after Under 23 midfielder Oliver Mukuka put Forest ahead in the 20th minute only for Yonah Mwango to restore parity four minutes later.
The leagues top scorer Rainford Kalaba scored his 10th goal of the season with the winner via a trademark free kick in the 64th minute to see Zesco maintain their status at the summit of the Faz premier League table.
YOUNG ARROWS 1- ZANACO 2.
Zanaco’s recover continues and today were again inspired by veteran Captain Mumamba Numba who scored his 9th goal of the season with an 80th minute winner.
This is after his team mate Jack Chileshe put Zanaco ahead in the 9th minute before Sam Gondwe equalized in the 32nd minute.
LUSAKA DYNAMOS 2- POWER DYNAMOS 1.
3rd placed Lusaka Dynamos made sure Power Dynamos left Lusaka without a win after a 2-1 home triumph over the troubled Kitwe side who have now not won in four consecutive matches.
A brace from Captain Josphet Nkhoma in the 19th and 71st minutes in-between Elson Mukandawire’s 46th minute consolation goal gave Dynamos the win over sorry Power.
KONKOLA BLADES 4- CITY OF LUSAKA 1.
Dean Mwiinde’s Konkola Blades recorded the biggest win of week 13 with a resonating 4-1 victory over City of Lusaka.
The brother’s Nsunzu inspired Blades to this emphatic win with goals each for striker Felix and his highly rated teenage midfielder brother Stophira who scored in the 6th and 65th minutes respectively.
Thomas Nyirenda was on target in the 26th minute while his team mate Robert Tembo too got in on the act seven minutes from time.
Evans Mukosi scored City’s lone goal of the game on the hour mark.
KABWE WARRIORS 2- GREEN BUFFALOES 0.
Musonda Mweuke scored his first league goals of the season with a brace against Green Buffaloes at Railway Ground to dispatch the visitors to their second top-flight defeat of the year.
NATIONAL ASSEMBLY 1- NCHANGA RANGERS 0.
Chris Chibuye was one of the two new boys on the bench to lead his club to a league victory today when National Assembly beat visiting Nchanga Rangers 1-0 in Lusaka today.
Kelvin Simbeye’s 79th minute winner ensured Assembly got their win to give Chibuye a very toothy smile at the end of the 90 minutes.
ROAN UNITED 2- ZAMTEL 1.
Zamtel are in big trouble.
They lost 2-1 away to fellow division 1 north promoted side Roan United this afternoon to stay riveted at the bottom of the table.
Yorum Kasempa’s 23rd minute equalizer gave Zamtel some false hope of gaining their first point under new coach Emmanuel Mwelwa after Kelvin Mumba’s 21st minute goal for hosts Roan.
However, Arthur Kaseloki made sure the home side rose from 12th to 11th on the table with a 74th minute goal to seal the win.
NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS 0- RED ARROWS 1.
Former Roan United and Zambia midfielder Harrison Tembo’s reign on the bench at 2004 champions Red Arrows begun on a bright note with a 1-0 away win for Red Arrows at trouble Nakambala Leopards.
Stanley Banda’s 27th minute goal gave the troubled Airmen this valuable win in Mazabuka.
