Ex DC challenges Sata

Mr Sata talking to his cadres outside the Supreme Court
Mr Sata talking to his cadres

Former Mazabuka District Commissioner, Misheck Chiinda, has urged Patriotic Front, PF, leader, Michael Sata, to state his position on calls by government to have an indaba over the rising price of meal meal.

Mr Chiinda has also urged the Police service not to take kindly, people agitating violence over the rising price of mealie meal if they are not ready to dialogue with government.

He told ZANIS in Mazabuka today, the rising price of mealie meal has nothing to do with President, Rupiah Banda, and government but the financial crisis dogging the world economies.

Mr Chiinda said the opposition and other members of civil society should instead offer solutions to the government on how to reduce mealie meal prices rather than inciting people to engage in violent activities and rise against government.

Mr Chiinda said while demonstrations are allowed in a democratic state such as Zambia, it would be disastrous for the Police to issue permits to the opposition parties especially the PF which is well known for fanning violence.

He, however, expressed happiness that Mazabuka residents including the PF cadres are against the demonstrations.

  1. Sata can you wake up and tell your kaponyas to go and plant maize before its too late. We won’t gonna solve the hugger problem by taking to the streets but only by hard work and growing a lot of maize.

  2. Wow! Baby C that’s kind of you,ala nacishupa fye otherwise nga…..Anyway never mind.am off now guys.aba am guyz teti uye.

  3. I think Chiinda is suffocated by cattle nobushushi he gets from them. Iwe chi Chiinda are you happy with nomweo ugetta pa 70 pin te? Umufyashi Sata all he needs is PEACEFUL demonstration and to make gvt work and fulfill the promises it fed the pipo of Zed. Shaa, webushiwe

  4. This guy Chiinda must be tonga, it seems we have a problem with people this ethnic grouping, always issuing irritating statements.

  5. # 12 you are dull, how do you expect hungry people to work.It looks like you feed from plot one.wake yourself up and ask where you nyama soya based his promises on Iwe Kaboyi

  6. The X-Dc really is really nuts. Its not because of global finacial crisis that mealie meal is getting expesive. Why is it not the same with other countries? For instance here in belgium prices of commodities have not been affected by the so called global financial crisis, which the useles leaders are always citing as a cause for increased cost of mealie meal. its all crap. come up with better excuses.

  7. It would appear this Government is really scared of Mr Sata, people would have been more understanding if they had not increased their salaries and allowances in the first place! It was in RB’s power not do so but today he wants Mr Sata help him calm the situation.
It would appear this government is not ready for anything

  8. #12, ulikuti? Chizungu icho nicha boza, trying to slang, sound like u wanted to use some line in a rap you dont know. “we wont gona”.. ili baaaaaaaaaaaaad!!!!! LOL ^:)^

  9. **==**==**== Mr CHINDA SIR, WHAT YOU THINK IS NOT WHAT IS ON THE GROUND,let people express their rights,if dialoque fails, why not demonstrate, ofcourse peacifully.

    GIRLY,wats you comment,,?

  10. CHIINDA IS FORMER FIMO FIMO.I SEE HES JUST LOOKING FOR A JOB FROM RB SINCE HE HAS SEEN THAT RB IS VERY GENEROUS TO THOSE WHO SPEAK AGAINST SATA.YOU JOB SEEKER ALA

  11. Freedom of expression has really brot more harm than good.So whose this bootlicker called Chiinda.Ba Ex DC we knw u want 2be heard but find sumthing beta tok abt than jus opening tht pitlatrine u call ur mouth only 2vomit rubbish,SHUT yo sour mouth.

  12. #17 its you who is dull, do you think you can solve the maize shortages by going to the streets? You have got to grow that maize otherwise the problem will persist.

  13. As long as Chiinda has a job that he did not go out to look for, he will talk like that. Ask him if he has ever gone out to buy a bag of unga. His response will tell you what type of person he is. We are going out there to demonstrate peacefully while waiting for some recruit to come and overcome us with massive force. Then they will see what will happen. Let the just give us that permit and then watch this space.
#16 Chiinda is definitely a Tonga

  14. ‘Leaders are there to create hope, confidence and trust to the citizens because the Zambians are waiting for solutions from the government of the day to solve the country’s problems.’

Maybe my gray matter is failing me here please help, just what the hell is wrong with Muteteka’s statement above? The sheer degree of gutlessness that bedevils the minds of Tetamashimba, Mabenga and Banda stinks to the very heavens above.

  15. I agree we should not protest violence is not the solution but again banda should not have increased leaders salaries by 50% there MMD have lost it we need to cut down vat and taxes to increase spending and magande should not have been dropped cause if its not broken dont fix it rumours have it that he was a threat to banda typical african politics

  16. #22 don’t try to be an English teacher my friend, just get the point I am trying to put across. Its because of chaps like you that make us continue suffering in Zambia, and you don’t need to know where I am anyway.

  17. No wonder LPM refused to renew his contract ,seeing that his useless in all ways possible. His now trying to make a come back by attacking Sata as if his the one who massed up the Zed economy. His thinking is that if he attacks Sata then Nyama soya will give him a job since all appointments are now coming in from the archives.Early this year govt announced that we have a bumper harvest and we are going to sale some stocks. If that was done ,then they are the one to blame ,coz had we enough stocks then the price of mealie meal could only have started to go up some time in February, when there is high demand for the same.

  18. Chiinda what do you suggest as the solution. Come on let us lead by example. Show Sata and PF how it is done by coming with a suggestion of what could be the solution. It is only after that you can say look here bwana Sata this is how things are done. If you can not offer a solution you chiinda yourself then just shutup

  19. Mr Chinda we should not be used by politicians to give them solution to the problems our nation is facing, but instead let them show us that they have the answers and we will come in later.Remember Mr Chiinda that these people in office recently increased their already hefty salaries so that they can bring solutions to the current problems our nation is facing, what do we see instead is NOTHING.I will join the demonstration because I get less and my salary does not meet the basic needs,Sata makes sense pa Zed.

  20. However valid a point SATA might think he has, creating a culture of demos and protests that threaten our peace is not acceptable.
SATA has enjoyed peace throughout his life, now that he is old does he want to leave us with violence and unrest as an inheritance from him? No way. Why does he not want us as young people to enjoy the peace that he has enjoyed all his life.
He wants to demonstrate because people are hungry, Oh? I thought hunger is dealt with by food and not demo. Why does he want to avoind offering solutions if he is a leader. Where are his solutions? Has the gvt refused to to listen to his solutions for him to call for demo?
I do not see any leadership in such attitudes.

  21. Have u head another ignorant fomer DC.I question his level of education.what is the connection btwn violence and peaceful demo.be proactive, dont wait for unreliable orgs to voice out for ur grievances.ifintu ifimoneke sure…chiinda just go farming u alredy hav ur pension,u dont know how it feels to sleep hunry…

  22. but kwena pa zed pali utukopo, we all know that the world is undergoing an economic recessession but since when did u hear that prices of food are hiked? only in zambia where politicians speak of issues they dont even understand. Tell us, is Bostwana in another planet or Tanzania or Angola? How come staple food in these countries is still affordable yet they are equally affected by the global crunch. Ubututu bwafulisha :”>

  23. # 17 Chief Chidano, you are very right, my bro! # 12 is very dull as not to understand the purpose of a PEACEFUL demonstration. #12 (Muna) , this peacefull protest is meant to wake up a sleeping government which made promises and then went into a deep sleep. World over citizens demonstrate if they see things degenerating into pitiable proportions like this. So VIVA OPPOSITION and abash Mwadya Mweka Daddy(MMD)and its empty promises!

  24. # 35 Thanks very much my friend, so far you are the only one who has written sense, some chaps just try to argue for no reason. Thats the truth, we need to encourage one another to grow as much maize as we can other than going to for Demos.

  25. #38 M’ponda Matiki, you are another dull chap yourself, you can go ahead and do your demos for over a year if you like but will not see food on the table provided measures to grow more food are not put in place. It would make sense to pressurise the govt so it can provide cheap fert, now that its the rain season. Wake up mate.

  26. The very people that are hungry are the ones that suffer even more in times of unrest, doesn’t SATA know that or he does not care?
Are we going to blindly support the interests of individuals like in Congo, Rwanda and Burundi? No way!
There is more we can do to earn diginity than to champion demos. When SATA championed ‘third term’ there are people who supported him but only realised later that we were going to be headed for more doom had Chiluba continued.
Now he is Championing demos, and some are supporting him but such actions are only regretable as time gets to mature. Desparate moves are deadly, because they normally promise much as they blind those in the situation.

  27. #12, even if you planted maize today, you will have to wait until march/april before you begin eating the harvest. Now my kind question to you is what are you going to eat in the interim? Waba aka mutwe ukukosa

  28. Fine. If demos are the only way to get the Government’s attention, then demo it is. And who said anything about them being violent? There ll only be violence if the Government interferes

  29. These chaps should not use the global crisis as an excuse, ala!! We should go ahead and hold peaceful demonstrations maybe then they will understand how serious we are. Nobody would like to bring about violence becoz after all, we are all affected. But the most irritating thing is that they award themselves hefty salaries and send their children abroad while the mass of the people are left behind sufferin! Neither of them feels the impact of the situ. like they do in the compounds where people have to take turns when it comes to eatin meals! They had better come up with a better excuse and sort themselves out or we’l take to the streets!!! x(~X(>:p

  30. Can we please let SATA have his demos. Maybe maize will magically drop from heaven.

    Violence fuels more violence.

Tell me something, since UNZA had their first riot, has there been peace ever since?? Has anyone finished their degree on time??

Or is it demos every year.

  31. Guys, this is OFF TOPIC!!!

Joseph Nicéphore Niépce was the first person to take a photograph. He took the picture by setting up a machine called the camera obscura in the window of his home in France. It took eight hours for the camera to take the picture.

  32. Every one in a democratic country has a right to assemble and express their opinion on a matter of public interest as long as they do not interfere with other people’s rights.

The only problem is that Mr.Sata failed to go to school when his friend RB qualified and went to Sweden. The person in charge of scholarships at that time in UNIP was Simon Kapwepwe and he could have have given Sata one of the scholarships. He gave one to Alex Chikwanda. Sata can not pretend to have ideas now. Please show me a person with ideas and I may support the demo, NOT SATA.

  33. 41. Sony Ericsson Phiri,
Sata has not said anything on the article, yes. But he is the topic of discussion here.
And in any case it does not matter, because I listened to him talk on Muvi TV, and there was nothing that he offered apart from promising the same demos.
I am interested in solutions and not just saying this one has failed, what do you offer as solutions?
Let people not be cheated. The man was in power with Chiluba when so many things went wrong, and yet he wanted chiluba to continue rulling. Where was his integrity?
What did he offer in 10 years to the suffering Zambians?
Why did he not criticise Chiluba when he was with him, the way he did to LPM?

  34. #57…

my point is that it only took a nanosecond to capture Micahel Sata’s rotten teeth in the photo above. Technology has developed but human beings remain primitive. :d

  35. #47. Pumpy
    Demos only way, how?
you mean you have no other idea apart from demo for you to say demo is the only way?
Are we stranded of ideas that the only idea we have is demo?
What else can we think as solution other than demo?
Are we unable to think of any solution but demo?
Dont we have better things to offer than demo?
Dont have any capacity beyond demo?

  36. Let those who want to join in the demos do so,if you don’t want to be part of it its fine how do you know it might not be as bad as you might think.who ever want be part of the demos do so after all its your rights
Its your right to express your what you feel. Those who are predicting violence are the ones going to cause violence.
After all it takes one to know one,
Be brave for our mother Zambia. =d>

  37. Chiinda is very right, Sata has gone nuts, let PF go and cultivate then they have food. See equation below:

Working in the field = Bumper harvest = A lot of food.
    Laziness = demonstrations = Hunger

    So bonse kabiyeni Mukulima.

    Chief Chidano you are dull.

  38. this is what happens when u aply for a job u cant do. now rb has accepted that its not possible to sell fertiliser at 50 pin. stop making wild pronouncements.
the issue of high mealie meal prices is a result of poor planning not financial crisis i the world. we had nough maize which we sold ceaply to congo and other countries without assesing our needs.
despite financial crsis we have increased salaries and could afford to spend on wrong chaps like nawakwi, nevers, saki and aka. what job did these guys do to deserve even jumping on grz planes. for chiinda he is just a disgruntled chap i hope he will not complain when his relatives start feeding on grass and wild roots again

  39. #1. Matworld ‘Mattie’ Naisi Gai. On behalf of the BAZ(Bloggers Association of Zambia), i extend my profound and heartfelt cogratulations on your achieving # 1 status. On this DC thing he is another graduate from the Bootlickers Academy (BA)… and exactly who is agitating violence here?

  40. They exported maize and now they are importing maize. These are the people you have entrusted to run the affairs of this once beautiful country. I feel ashamed now to be Zambian than ever before. You have with a grand daughter as a wife. What can he think? Do you know that people who marry younger partners and vice versa have a very big psychological problem? The government doe not inspire anyone in the country.

  41. This is the right season for Sata to lead his followers to the fields & show us he can produce. Is a demo really the most important thing at this moment? Anybody can demonstrate but real leaders should show us ways and means to prosperity.

  42. They exported maize and now they are importing maize. These are the people you have entrusted to run the affairs of this once beautiful country. I feel ashamed now to be Zambian than ever before. You have a president with a granddaughter as a wife. What can he think? Do you know that people who marry younger partners and vice versa have a very big psychological problem? The government does not inspire anyone in the country

  43. Misheck Chiinda or not, Sata talks too much. The chap is the same one who said on Radio Phoenix and Q-FM sometime back that Mutati brokered the sale of Celtel to Zain. How can we afford to have such a misinformed president. Zain is Celtel and that is why it is still listed as such on the LuSE (i bet Sata doesn’t even know LuSE). The company is committed to empowering Zambians but with ignorant sentiments from the likes of Sata, uncertainty rises and shareholders panic leading to share prices falling. Sata should be put in his right place and that is at the farm. Zain is Zambia’s leading mobile phone service provider employing 800 people directly, where would these people be without Zain?

  44. Comrades, i have never been a Sata fan and probably will never, but ONE thing i dont understand is how peaceful demostration has been synomous with agitatation for violence! If i wanted to demostrate in solidarity with the “good policies” of his excellency RB, i could do that right now with no permit whatsoever! But if its not in support of Banda, its agitating violence…. what hypocrisy!

    “GaZZie B”(General secretary of BAZ)

  45. Iwe #12,Mbuna or Muna whatever your name. You are a dunderhead. Are you oke in that head of yours, some of you people have heads as decorations.Inside there is totally nothing, just an empty tin.A gong! Dont you know that Sata has been making the mmd government work.some of the problems we are facing is as a result of negligence by the mmd government. They exported maize to Zimbabwe and Congo DR,and later on you have nothing for your own people does that make sense to you?How can people grow maize when the government cant provide inputs for them. They are talking of next year. The fertiliser for K50,000 which RB promised is nowhere to be seen.People are hungry, instead of providing a solution to the problems as a leader.Rb is complaining he doesnt inspire anyone. The late Mwanawasa said to Sata when they were reconciling,”it had to take sickness for me to realise how important you are to me and the nation”Due to the presure he puts on the gvment to work. Where is Miyanda and other litle political parties?

  46. This is the right season for Sata to lead his followers to the fields & show us he can produce. Is a demo really the most important thing at this moment? Anybody can demonstrate but real leaders should show us ways and means to prosperity.

  47. #74
This is the gimmick of Chituwo the way he used to import expired drugs with Dr Mitti so fatten their pickets. Awe twakana mwe, the clipper used to say that we have 3.5 metric tons of maize to last for more than 2-3 yrs therefore Zed can export supplus to Zim. Ha ha, kuti wasekako within a year ati lets go ku imort ya maize. What a gvt of empty brains of the likes of VJ, Kaka, Teta Impombo, nyama soya

  48. Fine. I said if demo is the only way, so be it. Why? Because the Government we have right now turns a deaf ear and blind eye to the plight of the poor Zambians and I believe if there was a will by the Government to reduce the cost of the essential commodity, they would have done so. However they cant, and maybe you fine dont know why they cant, its simple and i will simplify it for you, the people in Government are not feeling the pinch, afterall they just increased their salaries!

  49. Pipo lets be serious with these chaps and should not listen to bootlickers like chiinda. #37 has a good observation from other neigbouring countries.
what is the cost of fuel/oil pa zed? when are these chaps reducing fuel? when are they reducing m/meal? what is the kwacha/dollar/euro eqivalent? what is the cost of fertilizer?, and those 150 chaps and other so called constitutional officers are not even talking about their hefty salaries and you think its all smiles and some of you guys are busy supporting MMD, wake up, open your eyes and see.

  50. Ten of millions of people who access the web using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer could be vulnerable to having their computer hijacked because of a serious new security flaw.

The U.S. software giant urged people to switch to rival browsers such as Firefox, Opera or Safari, until the bug has been fixed.

The problem, first revealed last week, allows criminals to take over computers and steal passwords if the user visits an infected website.Microsoft said it had so far only found attacks against version 7 of Internet Explorer, the world’s most popular web browser, but warned that other versions were ‘potentially vulnerable’.

  51. CONTI..
As many as 10,000 sites have already been compromised to take advantage of the flaw, according to anti-virus software producer Trend Micro.

  52. CONTI..
As many as 10,000 sites have already been compromised to take advantage of the flaw, according to anti-virus software producer Trend Micro.

  53. Not that I want destructive demos but I’m in support of the peaceful demo. What I don’t understand is people don’t seem to understand the word PEACEFUL. Because they know they have done so much underhand methods. Let people do what they intend to Do do hold them. Because your are infringing on their rights. Myama Soya boldly and the big mouth he is said, he has reduced the price of mealie meal, fertilizer and blur blu… This guy has never been serious in his 44 days rule. He has never come to the people now that he is the president to tell them how is going to help the people. What are you afraid of MMD? You demonstrate over s(t(upidity no talks. Don’t call us come up with a plan of action

  54. Kalimeni fye ama demo ifinshi? Go and demonstrate Kumabala. Chi Sata tell your gang to pick up hoes. The rain season is here. Problem is… there are more people who talk than those who perform in Zambia. Some of you chaps are always posting comments leaving one to wonder whether blogging is your full time job or not. Kabombeni ba fee colour. You are the chaps bringing the performance and productivity of Zambia down

  55. In a security update issued yesterday, the computer giant said: ‘We are actively investigating the vulnerability that these attacks attempt to exploit.

‘We will continue to monitor the threat environment and update this advisory if this situation changes.’

Microsoft may fix the problem in its regular monthly security update or issue an emergency software patch.

  56. Fine, demonstrations, cant put food on the table. But they make the government to realise how serious the problem is.This Chiinda,he is talking about an indaba but the mmd doesnt listen to the opposition. And with this mmd government, can you point at an indaba which yilded the intended results. Peace is not only about having no war.But people should have enough food,be free to express themselves, having jobs etc. Then people wil have peaceful minds apart from the peace that people like you know. With all that is happening currently in the country. Are you telling me that people are at peace? God gave us heads to think and use them. Not just to be offloading irrelevants on this blogg.Sata and Pf is the only oppossition that is checking this government.Miyanda is haibanating, and these other small political parties. HH,is unpredictable,he sometimes behaves like a bat. You cant tell wether a bat is a bird or a mouse!

  57. The only way people can demonstrate is when opposition offer solutions to the gov and then gov doesn’t follow them, on Muvi Tv sata didn’t even give any advise instead he was busy talking about the NCC,s 400 billion which his Mps approved in the parliament. please lets the issue we have at the moment and I do believe the we have alot of problems because of the weak constitution whic Pf is not part of. let discuss first instead of going to the street. Time will come when sata will start talking to RB just like the way he did with LPM.

  58. #12 is right. Sata should learn that you reap what you sow. If he plants violence he will reap violence in return if he plants maize, he will reap maize and help lower mealie meal prices. Why is Sata and his kaponyas afraid of reality? The truth is we all need to work hard to make Zambia a better place. Sata and Chiluba like eating but don’t want to grow food. What if we all behaved the same way, what would they be eating these parasites?

  59. Demonstrations are not going to bring down the prices of mealie meal down.so its better for theopposition to just dialogue with the government and give them better ideas on wats to be done next. 😉

  60. #97 wisemen you are actually right, thats how a serious minded man analyses issues.infact these people will soon be reaping what they are sowing.this problem has hit almost all countries no one can pretend, how is it possible for someone to bring the economy of a country down when he has only been in power for about two months.you people get serious and think wisely…

  61. Iwe Chi #92,its not everyone who is supposed to be in the fields.should we all stop what we are doing and become farmers. We chinangwa, and this government doesnt provide inputs for the farmers. Can you grow maize on an empty stomach. Finished and useless medula oblangater!

  62. #97,i thought you were wise like your name. But alas, you are one of those useless creatures. Just adding to the population of the world, but the heads are not functioning.

  63. MMD was the people who were campaigning saying they had the best ideas and the best policies. Now how can they be asking PF for their advice through dialogue? It doesn’t work like that, you can’t say one minute “we are the best people to vote for” and then the next minute “actually please assist us with dialogue because we don know what we are doing”. Ati ma labish mwe bantu

  64. Tell your Sata that maize does not grow on streets, its in the fields. And this is a PLANTING season!! Demonstrations whether peaceful or violent won’t reduce the mealie meal prices. YOU SHOULD BE DEMONSTRATING FOR THE REDUCTION OF FERTILISER PRICES. Anyway what does SATA & his followers know about Agriculture?

  65. All you bloggers suggesting that all those calling for demos should be farming, how realistic is that, we cant all be farmers all we will all be peasant farmers. There are commercial farmers who grow maize for bloggers, docters, teachers, policemen etc etc.

  66. PF kaponyas, please face facts or your dreams of governing Zambia shall remain just that – dreams. Go back to the land and help feed the nation. You do not need to be physically tilling the land yourself but you can invest and employ people to do the job for you. Did LPM till all his farms himself? What is wrong with you kaponyas? The time you spend shouting could be used productively for planting maize. The time you spend listening to your mad man Sata could be spent helping your children with homework. Just what is wrong with you kaponyas and other PF blind followers?

  67. People have the right to protest! It makes so sense that just within 2 months mealie meal has gone up, the kwacha is trading at K5300 from K3400 because the investors are not confident in Banda and his african politics of removing someone like magande who they trusted that their money would be in good hands.

If we do not demonstrate we are letting down our children. We cant go back to the chiluba days!

  68. #116 tawakwata amano. Uli icinangwa. How can you think so low. What do you use to think? You fists like sata? or your groin like Elias Mpondela? Even these academicians can grow maize and contribute to the national food basket. They can also have gradens in their back yards. Kula, icimutwe

  69. #112 iwe chi chebwa what are you doing in the states? you seem to have no brains, even bad ones. You better go back to Zambia for you are a disgrace.

  70. Mr Sata is a vulture. Vultures circle around a wounded animal at the smell of death. But that scavenging cleans up the environment without removing the cause of death. Mr Sata may scavenge but he will not solve the problems that Zambia faces. This time round, all Zambians must be patient and support the leadership for the good of all. This is not an election year and Mr Sata should wait for 2011 to draw his dagger. Will it take another heart attack for him to reconcile with RB? That may be a bridge too far!

  71. No. 112 Chewe, cool down bro. Lets view the better side of things. Whether one can afford or not is not the issue, what we need to do try by all means possible to find the way forward. both dialogue and demos are fine with me. what do you think?

  72. Wat I would like to know is why the Dollar is going up against the Kwacha? During the election time, I could understand, but now? :-??

  73. Hey 132 ESK, 133 Sony Ericsson, am realiably told that the GRZ has printed more money to cushion the economic situation, though I know that its a wrong move to take.

  74. We need a new topic LT, we are tired of peopel saying , sata, has done this and that, The demo issue was raised some weeks ago. lets to about ways to take our country forward.Nyama Soya and the group has failed, Full stooop!:-w[-(

  75. #78 u r very wise.If only we had so many people like you…..Most people are supporting the MMD blindly especially those who are benefiting by virtue of being related to them.Just wait and see:your days are numbered.Go and demonstrate PF its for the good of the country. We are tired of talking about ubwali for 17 years. To hell with MMD and all those tuma small opposition parties like UPND,Heritag e.t.c.The next time I see Miyanda and them campaigning I will just slap him!We are tired of cheap politics.

  76. But honestly, indaba’s have brought more harm than good. Tax payers money is at stake here, Look those in the committee will need :-

    1. Sitting Allowances
    2. Breakfast in the name of teabreak
    3. Lunch (buffet)
    4. Tea break (16:00hrs)
    5. Transport to and from MICC

All these expenses to cater for about 300 delegates for a total of 3 years! And then at the end of it all, no solution will be found. Now where is the logic?? Taking to the streets is the only solution! besides its proving to be much cheaper!

    ;;)

  77. 76. UMUGAZEBO and FAMILY,
i wonder if you have seen anywhere in the world where parties/people call for violet demos.
It will be shocking if you will tell me that you have never known that it is the same so-called peace demos that turn into violent ones.
SATA has no capacity to guide everyone demonstrating everywhere in the nation to be peaceful; what capacity does SATA have to ensure such?
I do not beleive in looking at a thing or doing a thing without judgement for its possible consequencies.
Some claim the demos will make govt realise, who told you they havent realised?
When SATA was in power, did he not realise that he was killing our industries? Today he becomes your hero??

  78. Why do some small minds here in the name of bloggers think a PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION is actually burning, looting and violence? A peacefull protest is about bringing a problem to the attention of the powers that be, e.g. a strike action at a place of work is an example of peaceful demonstration. Why are you relating peacefull demonstration to violence and anarchy?

  79. 110. Sony Ericsson Phiri,
Yes, MMD said they had the best plicies. Their policies may not even be very good after all. But what they mean, and I agree with them, is that if their policies are bad, then PF’s policies, if they exist, are worse off.
If the crisis is hitting Zambia now under MMD, it would have been worse with SATA.
I like SATA’s commedy, but I will not sit and watch his commedy bring chaos which he started with Chiluba.
SATA was chluba’s chief advisor, now today he becomes you role model?
Anyway, SATA is an old man who over the years and through experience has learnt that man is easy to manipulate.
So when I see you as his victims, I am not very amazed.

  80. #142 Fine!,

Stop parading your silliness on LT! Chiluba’s third term bid was shot down by PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATIONS and there was no violence anywhere! Ndiwe imbwa yopanda muchila iwe!

  81. dull chiinda…or is chinda( a lice?????). Zambians dont be cheated. Its good that Iam here in sweeden, this global finacial crisis you are beeing fed on by the selfish politicians there back home does not exist here. Not on food….prices of food here have remained the same depite sweeden being an importer of most food. Even you guys who have academic knowledge can you be cheated??? I fail to understand this. RB made a mistake during his campagin to increase the purchase price of maize from 40 pin to 50 pin. So all who know business have capitalised on that which even me I can do.You fellow ZAMBIAN YOU CANT SEE THAT. Demos are bad but they help dull regimes like RB’s function.Atase imwe

  82. Mr. Chiinda is the dullest politician this country has produced. He can’t even see that his president has lamentably failed. God help us! We have a terrible leadership vacuum. Please dont give us leaders like Chiinda who can only speak rubbish about our HOLY SATA.

  83. #145. M’ponda Matiki,
A small mind has no capacity to see beyond the eyesight.
A small mind has no capacity to hear beyond the ears.
A small mind has no capacity to smell beyond the nose.
The size of your mind is not judged by what you can see but what you can percieve, nor by what you can hear but what you can understand, nor the wrongs you can point out, but the solutions you can bring out.
If big minds cannot offer any more solution than demo, then word ‘big’ has been misplaced.
If small minds will bring about solutions to problems facing our nation today, while big minds will fail to have capacity to think beyond demos, then our perception needs surgery.

  84. The World Bank will give Kenya 25 million US dollars as assistance to the country’s emergency food support programme.

The money will be provided under the global food response programme.

The announcement has been made during talks between President Kibaki and the vice president of the World Bank Ms Obiageli Ezekwesili.

The talks held at State House, Nairobi, centred on the partnership between Kenya and the Bank.

President Kibaki said Kenya faced a major challenge arising from the high food and energy prices and was monitoring evolvement of the global financial crisis and its potential impact on Kenya.

Kenya’s food crisis is compounded by the failure of the short rains, which

  85. :((:((:((:(( Things are not well in Zambia, please RB say something to give us hope, Look at Mugabe even in the midst of cholera atleast akamba.

  86. Muna I suppose you dont really understand what you are saying.
People will not be planting and filling their stomach at the same time. they need energy from ubwali to work. I am sure you cant work on an empty stomach. What you are promoting is slavery. Work and dont worry about eating. Let the government come up with solutions, they dont need the opposition to solve problems on their behalf. Why didnt the government listen to the people about the pay rise? But now they want everyone to understand whats going on. I hate these dirty leaders and you muna

  87. How much is sata going to be paid for providing solutions to sleepy idle minds? Mind you Chiinda and Shikapwanya knowledge is power and expensive too!! Let those who are recieving hiked tax payer’s salaries first do what they are being paid to do and then Sata and all of us will contribute. If you keep quiet we will talk through what we know works well with a mediocre sleeping govt like this one. They made promises to villagers without thinking!! No one is happy no one can sit home watching food prices up, mines closing up, massive job losses, historic currency depreciation e.tc wake up zambians…

  88. #149. M’ponda Matiki
I can see that your mind has little or no capacity to analyse issues.
I will let you know that an insult is a product of mind failure.
When the mind is challenged but cant think, it has two options:
    1) Keep quiet (normally for those that have some wisdom)
    2) Insult (normally for those with weak minds but restless if they dont talk)
Your case could be manageable if not delayed; you need help early.
I can’t help you beyond this. If I asked you the benefits of insulting you will not be in position give any reasonable benefit.
If I ask you why SATA wanted Chiluba to go for ‘third term’ you may not have an answer since you are not SATA, so why defend him.

  89. The chap is justone of the dinosours that is why is saying that as you know this government is now for them. Alot f them have ressurected. :-w:((

  90. We know comodity prices have been affected by the economical global melt down but not to this extent. I see no harm in people holding a peaceful demo, let people express their concerns.

  91. Kwacha is likely to depriciate more in the next six months. The reasons are simple, because of decline in copper prices and production and reduction in foreign aid. Lower investments and investors holding into their money in $. So this is just the beginning. expect kwacha to be trading at K6000 in the next 12 months.
Mealie meal prices are most likely to stay high until the next harvest. However there is no garuntee that they will reduce in june as the government has not invested hugely in agriculture and the increasing inflation levels.
Unemployment levels might increase as we might see further job loses in the mines.
The government has no heart for the people of this country.

  92. # 152 Fine!

Was that a poem? It’s a bad one! Please try again but don’t practice on this blog lest you expose you silliness again!

  93. I may not always agree with the steps that the govt is taking or lack of them.
But I will not be cheated by people who will advance their own agendas by using the masses.
SATA is not an alternative to the current leadership; if he was I should have heard him suggest a workable solution to the problems facing Zambia.
If SATA is a real leader don you suggest that he needs a salary in order to contribute to this country.
When SATA was fighting for his Chiluba’s ‘third term’ what interest did he have, his or that of the nation?
If SATA succeded in his ‘third term’ bid, was chiluba going to even answer the corruption charges had Mwanawasa not come in?
My mind will not be blineded, No.

  94. #162. M’ponda Matiki,
Any form of analysis to you comes out like a poem. That is why i said you need help early, before things get out of hand.

  95. Im tired of Sata this Sata that! So, the man is really a force to reckon with. An all-weather opposition! Ok , where is HH and is UPND and what has he got to say or indeed do for Zambia as an opposition? His greediness has now shown up. He was only interested in akamupando ka mu plot 1 and after getting disillusioned he disappeared into hybernation. Im sure he will resurface in 2011 again to try his luck.

  96. SATA last night was saying on Muvi TV that the govt should be ashamed that exchange rate of Kwacha to BP (pound) was 1:1, and Kwacha to dolar (US$) was 0.75 (or 75 ngwee) in 1964. His words were, “arent they ashamed the now the dolar is at K5,200”. And some people are still being bought by such trickery way of talking. He left the dolar at K6,000 and pound at over K9,000 in 2001.
He is telling some of these people who are new in govt when he has been in govt since 1964, and he is the one who made major contribution to the fall of our currency, and yet he still have people that believe him when he blames it on the admin that has been in power for merely a month.
Do you expect to be cheated?

  97. I watched Sata on Muvi TV yesterday. As usual he kept on waffling no sense. For example while trying to prove that he was a sports fan he wrongly claimed that he went to los angeles with Lotties Mwale to defend his Lightweight championship and that he carried Kebby Musokotwane. The truth was that Kebby Musokotwane was Prime Minister and he travelled as representative of the Zambian Government. Lottoes Mwale was challenging Saad Muhammed for the WBC Lightheavyweight title. The sponsors for Lottie Mwale were Wilfred Saurland the german industrialist,GIBSON NWOSU the nigerian who was principal at NRDC, and Rupiah Banda our current President.
Sata was nowhere to be seen……….

  98. ##fine ###…u are always brave in ur silly analysis. Are you a shushu? You dont have a heart for the suffering Zambians…nawikuta nakafumo paa but you dont want the poorest Zambians to enjoy as you are doing. Selfish people..Atase ataa.

  99. Ala kwena chi Fine chali ba dull. And with people like him the country cant go foward. These are just burdens. Extra lagges.

  100. #165. M’ponda Matiki
I have requested you try and improve in your analysis.
Even a thief if he is stealing too much he will be talked about more than other people. The measurements you use in your analysis continue to cust a lot of doubt on the reliability of your contributions.

  101. #171. Chewe,
Anyone who is intelligent and analytical will be able to make a more reasonable judgement than the one you have made.
From what you have said, you sound no different from a mad man who sees a normal person talking on the phone and tells the normal man, “You are mad!”

  102. #142 FINE! Good points there comrade, however you missed the point at #142. If Sata wants to make a nuisance of himself, let him…. he has a right in so far as he doenst trample on yours and mine. The question here is of PRINCIPLE and the rationale behind blocking a peaceful demo as has been requested. Mpombo doesnt have a right to threaten pipo whatsoever with Max force. I suggest that he uses the same maximum force to keep maximum peace during the processions!

    yours “GaZZie B”

  103. 170. Kambongolo,
I am more concerned about people’s suffering than SATA.
SATA wanted Chiluba to continue to deplit the resources of our country. And to you, that means he was caring for those suffering.
I may not even support everything that the govt is doing but that does not mean I can turn to SATA. Even in my desparate situation I will not believe SATA who wanted to cover up Chiluba’s wrongs and today he tells you he is your saviour and you believe.
Unfortunately even some educated people seem to be easily cheated; that is why SATA feels educations is not very important, he has a point in that he deceives even those that think they are educated.

  104. Fine and Chewe,I just talked to the managing director for ZNBC.I want you guys to debate on the economic crisis that we are facing in our country.its like each one of you has his own data so bring it pa public.Salasini has also agreed that the line will be open for phone calls. To my fellow bloggers not insele animwe. We are not where we to learn Insele noooo!!! guys namipapata. We are all Zedian, and ZED is known as ZIKO LAMUTENDERE.Please am begging you stop insulting. ^:)^^:)^^:)^^:)^^:)^^:)^^:)^

  105. #UMUGAZEBO and FAMILY
    Where is the peaceful demo?
How do you measure the demo to be peaceful before you see it?
You might say, people are asking for a peaceful demo; well when on earth do people ask for a violent demo?
Is it not the same, so-called peacefully requested demos that turn into violent ones?
Did SATA and PF plan to beat up Chiluba at the funeral last month or they went to morn peacefully?
Did those who wanted to beat up Chiluba tell or agree with SATA that they would go and beat up Chiluba?
We can speak so well and call things human rights, but at the end of the day should things go out of hand it’s not SATA people will cry to but Govt. They have a duty to protect

  106. you are useless LT you are also another biased media against opposition. Y only anti-opposition news. where is UPND HH and PF Sata.

  107. ## FINE** you are right in sayin that, Sata is not educated but he speaks for the people. Thats why I like him. He makes those dull guys to work. Remember Mwanawaza’s regime, Sata put pressure on Mwanawasa which was a blessing in disguise as we saw mwanawasa working day and night…this gave way to econnmoic growth and some of us who did not like Mwanawasa started loving him. His no nosense altitude coupled with the presure Sata put on him it worked wanders. This is why Sata should be there. Imagine this sleepy regime without Sata…they will ever sleep forever.he is keeping that dull regime awake. Why did the fier Magande???????

  108. sata calls them peaceful but the situation is dangerous. MMD sees them as violence. Y? because they are guilty that sata is agitating people to rebel. Two things Sata is opportunist. MMD is tyranny. Who then is the centre of conflict- common man. Sata if common man can rise i have hope. MMD if common can be silence we have peace. How then do u bloggers deal with this paradox? Those calling for people to go farming luck mercy- how do you expect hungry people to work? in fact most of ran from zedi because of hunger. common man is shocked but wait sata or not if MMD does not do anything before the shock ends they will regret sata quiet

  109. A ma supporters muli picture iyi.. abansala be kabeka, na ma blouse ya lepauka mumwapa!!! :-?:-?:-?:-?:-?[-([-([-([-([-([-([-([-([-(

  110. #187. Kambongolo
For 10 years SATA was with Chiluba as his advisor, tell me what they did for the poor, the uneducated, and the suffering.
You must also explain the killing of the mines, the manufacturing industires, the agricultural system etc.
Also explain how you interpret SATA’s fight for ‘third term’ as being pro-poor, and a fight for those suffering.
During his recinciliation SATA also confessed that some of the things he criticised LPM were not genuine but out of hatrade between then. Can you explain how that was benfiting the poor?
If you cannot explain these issues I will know that you do not understand SATA. You following is a risk one.

  111. There is no difference between Chiinda & SATA, both are failures in Agric. Chiinda was a Minister of Agric in under FTJ he failed terribly. So he should not comment about Sata’s demos. But you should consider farming while its still raining you lazy chaps.

  112. # FINE# first let us establish one thing. Are you saying RB’s regime is working or not? If yes, why have they not fulfilled their promise to those dying villagers? Then what should be done amidst this self created crisis rocking Zambia. Dont say dialogue coz its useless way of stealing tax payers money. This guys are govnt…so we expect them to work as they promised. Are you agreeing that they lied? :-w:-w

  113. Fine. dont tell me that Peaceful and demostration cant be used in the same breath and in the Zambian context particularly. the isssue is not Sata, but the legality or inverse implication of that word. So tell me if pipo in a Democcracy should demonstrate for one reason or other.

  114. #193. Kambongolo,
I have neither said MMD govt is working or failing.
What I will tell you is that it would be naive for me to say MMD is doing evrything right or to say they are doing everything wrong.
But to say that if they are not doing right, then demo is the first option is wrong. You dont opt for demo then hope to offer your solutions later, No!
And it will be wrong for me to think because you want demo then you dont care about people, or you also canot say because i am against demo then I am satisified that people are suffering, that would be to narrow to constrict my mind to.

  115. Ba Chinda just keep quite remember those days when you used to carry drums of chibuku in you Toyota GX ( we called them Arabs)because you tied the top with plastics to stop the chibuku spilling inside.by the way are you still in chikankata?

  116. #194. UMUGAZEBO and FAMILY
I dont understand you opening statement; I hope you dont imply that I am saying the demos can be peaceful. Even if they can, i have not said that kind of thing, i am more on risk management than fikai solver type of mentality.
Yes, people in democracy can demonstrate after they have exosted all sensible options.
My view is that demo is not the first option human beings in democracy must take, No, no.
Provide you workable option to the government by stating them out. Let those option be generally agreed.
If they dont follow your options let them state their options.
If they simply refuse to comply without alternative practical options then demo is an option.

  117. ‘Fine’ your points make good reading. This demo is not about mealie meal but about the lost elections. Sata just wants to use the mealie meal issue to advance his evil idea of making our country ungovernable. What solutions can this uneducated old man offer? Why didn’t he have the heart for the poor when he was in government? Wasn’t it the poor he was hacking with machetes and pangas in chawama? Sata just want to use the very poor to ascend to power, and not that he has a heart for them. Many pipo lost jobs when he was in power but today he wants to demonstrate over job loses in the C/B. Who is he trying to cheat

  118. #196, the chap is still in Chikankata were he has failed lamentably to establish himself economically. the man is a non performer, poor chap. Demos wont bring down mealie meal prices. PF try to call for countrywide strike i.e Copperbelt & Lsk. ( Demos in Zambia are understood as going onto the streets & make a lot of noise, break into a few shops & do a bit of looting, THAT WE ARE AGAINST)

  119. Well, well! What ignorance there is in the world! Kwacha vs dollar has nothing to do with anyone in Zambia. The dollar has appreciated even against the pound sterling and so has the Japanese Yen. The Zambian economy is worth less than 6 billion dollars and this is a drop in the ocean of world economics. Copper prices have fallen and so has the most precious commodity in the world, OIL! If people are not buying oil which is needed for their cars, electricity and industry TODAY, why should they buy copper for TOMORROW? What should happen now, is the Zambian Govt should buy the copper and store it until prices go up.

  120. # 198 Mbo….who voted for sata …is it the educted or the dull villagers??? Why did the educated wanted sata??? thats the question to answer. There was an ever green educated fellow HH, why didnt you the educated guys vote for him??? Are u saying coz u are dull people despite your education thats why you went for the dull man sata??? if thats the case then pitted are you Zambians.

  121. Here is something interesting! On 4 June 1963 JF Kennedy signed executive order 11110 to stop the Federal Reserve from lending money to the US govt but that the US itself would print its own dollar against the silver bullion in the treasury, vis a ‘debt free’ currency. The Federal Reserve Bank (the Fed) is a privately owned institution and would have run out of business had this order been executed. 6 months later JFK succumbed to an assassin’s bullet. The one thing coming out of all ‘new world order’ economies is independence of central banks. Once this happens, the rate of exchange passes beyond govt control. The IMF and WB want it that way. Soon and very soon, there will be only one…

  122. #197 fine! of course you can’t say govt is doing Everything wrong but they are doing many things wrong.
This situation is self-created by RB and friends
1.when they were making promises they knew there was a global financial crisis so Y promise an outcome you cant attain even it it be short lived?
2.The govt should be on it’s toes at all times they should not relax its part of the job description, when people complain govt should see work on it and tell s what they are doing.
3.Therefore we don’t expect to see something and we won’t stop until we did, just like when
LPM came in it took months and once people started seeing result they calmed down.LET THE PEOPLE VENT!

  123. (cont #203)…currency and that will be the real dollar: the Euro dollar! The Fed is controlled from Europe. There is a square mile piece of London called ‘the city’ whose CEO is not elected by the common people and is called ‘Lord Mayor of London.’ This institution is steeped in mystery typical of free masonry. We may not even know the name of the Lord Mayor of London but he travels widely and gives speeches ‘to represent, support and promote the businesses and the people of the City of London…’ (Wikipedia) The world is rushing to a one world moneyless government. Zimbabwe is the experiment. Money is just paper.

  124. #205 VOTE RIGGER # please try by all means to be concise and precise. So whats you point?? There will be one currency called Ero dollar or what? What will cause all that? What is its relevance to the Zambian situation? Please expound your thoughts clearly so people hear you.

    Hee man or lady???

  125. #SARAH JONES # U are bored coz now we are analysing matters seriously…not the jokes you always put across. We want for once to pump sense in this dull regime ….you think these guys dont monitor this web, they do , hence lets give them some advise since they are dull chaps. So dont be bored…contribute…no insults…

    tefyo kagelo??? x:x

  126. I wish I had the time to analyse the picture that comes with this article but ish am tired. It would be interesting to know what Sata was saying. :-s

  127. When you rigged the elections did you forget that you’ve no ideas to run the country? Please lieve Mr SATA in peace you now have the cake so eat it. MMD’s hopelessness is not Mr SATA’s cup of tea.

Swallow your pride and ask Mr SATA nicely for practical ideas for the way forward in the country just like the late presido did and died a very popular man.

Wakey wakey the country is poverty stricken now right now!

  128. MMD LOT KING COBRA IS NOT MMD BUT PF, STOP BOTHERING HIM FIND YOUR WAY OUT OF FAKED SUCCESS STORY.THE COUNTRY IS IN NEED OF SOLUTONS URGENTLY,SO SHOW YOUR BRAINS.

  129. Yes, #213, Sata should also shut up and let the elected govt work. Everything has its own time but for Sata every minute is for campaigns based on lies. The man lies like there is no tommorrow and that worries me for a man at his age. He has no concept of productivity and progressive thinking other than telling lies and crticising. Please advise him to try and grow some maize and he may understand the nature of the problem. Kasonde was very productive and even requested to be buried on his own built farm – very decent, but Sata and Chiluba we shall soon be fighting with grave diggers at Leopards hill just to secure them a grave, i can tell you. very disgraceful.

  130. Zambia is our country irrespective of whatever we may be. Crictics in society are normal as they play a major role in maintaining checks and balances but the language we use even when criticising should portray maturity. I wonder what has happened to our Zambian Society of late because respect has completely gone into the woods. I wonder what is eating us up because I can foresee a situation where if this is allowed to continue happening on wider scale, our own children shall start insulting us within our own homes. I for one, I value all leaders, irrespective of where they come from, whether southern, Eastern, Northern, etc thus, Sata as well. I like Sata much more than one may ever realise

  131. Ignorance. You guys are blaming the financial crisis in the west for failure to hold on to your harvest. What type of nonsense is that? Soon Mugabe will be doing the same in Zimbambwe. When the govt fails, the prudent thing to do is move over or wait for their term to end. Let the people with solutions take over. Don’t lie about your ineptitude. What does this small boy in Mazabuka know about the crisis? Zambia has never gotten aid from Lehman Brothers or Citibank. Is IMF and the World Bank not loaning Zambia any more? Banda should acknowledge that he does not know what he is doing. Oh, by the way, demos are a form of freedom of speech. Let people speak. Let them vent out.

  132. The idea of attributing everything economical crisis can not be understood if not well explained by those who understand the expression. Is it that this world economic crisis has affected the country in a mysterious way such that the effects have trickeled down at a marathon speed. Why is it not the same with other countries only Zambia.Could some one explain this in details so that people can understand. During the time of our late President, May his soul rest in peace, things never went to this extent. He always controlled the situation. Personally am not convinced that the world economic problems has brought about the current situation. Please tell us what is going on. :((

  133. #12 HAVE YOU GIVEN THE KAPONYAS LAND FOR FARMING AND FARMING INPUTS SUCH AS MAIZE SEED AND FERTILISER. BY THE WAY, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT EVRYONE IN ZAMBIA IS A FARMER AND ARE YOU A FARMER YOURSELF? ARE YOU SUGGESTING THAT ALL KAPONYAS SHOULD BE FORCED INTO FARMING?

  134. **== Demostrations are not meant to be violent as others are proclaiming but a way of showing displeasure over something. That’s why Rasid Jones always says we are sleepy. Let us demostrate peacefully we dont need anyone to persuade us to do so.It is poverty that will force us to do so.

  135. what global crisis has maize got to do with that do we buy maize from UK for the mealie meal to be expensive and they now want sata to solve their problems, when he told them not to increase their salaries they didn’t listen to him now that things have gone bad they want him on board. What’s RB’S advisors doing kasi they will be paid for nothing yet they are failing to advice him.

  136. No5 Son Eric. The guy wants his job back. You dont need qualifications in Zambia just all you need is praise the top man even clap when he farts. GO PEOPLE for your rights.

  137. MMD solve the country’s problems, villagers are dying, mind you they put you in office. How come their stomacks are completely empty while yours are bursting? Absolutely ungreatfull to the country’s villagers. Please remember the children are the future do not allow a situation where Kids feed on poisonous roots and die due to lack of food.

    Come on MMD be ashamed.

    PABWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATO!

  138. NYAMA SOYA AND THE CREW are confused at the moment. They cannot remenber all the promises they made.

    VIVA SAAAAAAAAAAATA VIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVA PF.

  139. Sata should first go farming then he can talk about demonstrations in 2011. Farming is serious business it needs pippo like RB, late LPM, HH and at least Miyanda who has a farm. Talking boxes like Sata should keep quite about maize meal prices he doesn’t know how it is produced.

  140. A comment on this subject is like watering a Garden after a haevy down pour.A wish all the bloggers a MERRY XMAS and HAPPY 2009.Pliz ENJOY.

  141. Jealous down! I like you bloggers! You are pipo of substance, I have learnt a lot on this blog, we have pipo who are well vested on issues. The problem is that they are very far from the corridors of power so their knowledge is never appreciated. But as for me, should chance come my way to led this nation, you can count on me to use the knowledge acquired on this blog to deliver. I will change Zambia!! I mean it :((

  142. #217 Kalos2020, #218 Prince Jones K and #222 Hotchick.
Here is how it works. Zambia has received the largest volume of foreign investment over a very short time in the region. The investment is based on projected mining activities. The companies need to raise cash for this investment (which to us in Zambia means dollar in flow). The crisis means, they hold on to their cas overseas and no dollars come to Zambia. We would also earn dollars by selling copper but that price has also dropped. No dollar means expensive imports and job losses and less valued Kwacha. The fall in oil prices is negated by the fall in the value of Kwacha. All these lead to less tax receipts and less money for GRZ.
