A local Non-Governmental Organisation, Zambia Voice has charged that President Michael Sata is finding it hard to fight corruption because he is surrounded by corrupt officials.

In a statement, Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali stated that there is no doubt that President Sata has a genuine zeal to fight corruption.

“We have no doubt that President Michael Sata mean to fight corruption but he is surrounded by corrupt people,” Mr. Tayali said.

“For whatever alliances they signed for him to go to Plot One, President Sata appears like he is now held hostage in State House by these thieves, crooks, schemas who steal in broad day light while the Zambian people are watching,” he said.

Mr. Tayali observed that while other corruption investigations are still pending while others are still being investigated by compromised officers from ACC and the Task force while other cases are being discussed in the public domain and nothing is being done about.

“Let me hasten to point out here that we have very good junior offices in our Police and ACC but as they say, “The fish start rotting from the head”, the top people in these institutions are the ones who are corrupt more because they are brought in by these thieves and schemas who are holding our President at ransom for helping him to get into power.”

Mr. Tayali reminded President Sata that he was not put in State House by the thieving party and government officials.

“Mr. Sata don’t bow to any these opportunists who will destroy your legacy as a no nonsense man, hard worker and Christian. Look how these people have started fighting for Presidency as if we have one more year to elections and yet it’s only a year since we changed Govt,” he said.

He said it is regrettable that the same people already started scheming so that they can position their own to be next President using their usual tricks.

  1. No man will ever be able to lead his footsteps. My hope in PF has started diminishing slowly. As for now i will employ a lets-wait-and-see approach

  2. This article contains the truth that every Zambian has known since the PF took over. What’s more, the big crooks and thieves are busy accusing each other publicly on a daily basis without shame. If anyone thought the MMD and RB were corrupt, just wait because you ain’t seen nothing yet, the real scavengers are at work.

  3. How do you befriend chaps like mmembe?? To that you add kabimba & GBM, who are on each others throat at the moment…..truly his a hostage

  4. One wise man once said “Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one”.I have no options but to respects Mr. Tayali`s.

  5. One wise man once said “Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one”.I have no option but to respect Mr. Tayali`s.

  6. The president is an author of his own destiny; he is the appointing authority of the present day cabinet. Is this Zambia’s best and brightest team he could have assembled to help him govern during his tenure? He has let the electorate down by the tribal and nepotistic leaning in his appointments. He choose his kind to come to the fore. (abanye mbulu balapalamana). They are birds of a feather. The leader can not be distanced from his followers who he handpicked; like attracts like!

  7. What Tayali is saying is true, let him not hind the truth, he is meaning GBM, Kabimba and Mmembe, these are the people who helped Sata to come into power, GBM did the funding, Kabimba the campaign strategy and Mmembe used the Post Newspaper to brain wash the masses to believe that PF was going to bring change, period.

    • I agree with The people’s comments.
“GBM did the funding, Kabimba the campaign strategy and Mmembe used the Post Newspaper to brain wash the masses to believe that PF was going to bring change, period”

When is the president going to finish re-paying these characters so that he can lead a corrupt free cabinet??
2016 we are going to the polls. PF should remember that they won not because of their cadres but because of the majority not in partisan (the neutrals) who REALLY WANTED CHANGE.

    • Correction, pf won thru lies peddled by sata, kabimba an mmembe strategy via the post & funded by GBM.
The blackmail is that sata will be cleaned in public as a con & charlertan by his colleagues if he dares allow the wheels of justice run its course on fraud mmembe GBM & co.

  8. The scavengers have assembled to take their share of the spoils!! The con artists are spinning every strategy to rob the country blind. In the process they are poking fingers in each other’s eyes!

  9. # 1 Mo taim. You are saying nothing, except to support thieves, morally corrupted hypocrites, scavengers, who thought crying corruption on others would cleanse themselves from their evil schemes. You should be a shamed of your opinion not to condemn corruption seen by every Zambian like that of GBM, Kabimba and Mr Sata himself to name a few.

  10. Chilufya Tayali is the immediate young brother to the fallen corrupt former UPND Youth Chairman and former DEC officer, FRANK TAYALI. Young man, where is your brother? What i know is that, you are as corrupt as your elder brother. You also love money more than your life and so, please do not educate uson corruption because we can expose you badly.

  11. President Sata must be firm but fair. Any leader found to be corrupt must be shown the door. Self-seeking tendencies and practices should never be tolerated or glossed over. Leaders must be there, and determinedly so, to serve the Zambian people in their diversity. Not engaging and practising ‘sangwapo’, something akin to mafiasoism.

  12. In light of the above scenario its why i have always said that politicians should only serve two terms: one in office and the other one in jail.

  13. the 14 billion is the cause of this internal wrestling within the PF. fred mumembe is the one causing all this. his fear is that if sata leaves office no one will protect his elusive moves to pay bk our money. so he wants to install a puppet in the name of kabimba. zambian will not allow this maggot to hoodwink them. we are a great nation. mumembe namakando cant determine our destine.

  14. The problem is not what the author has highlighted. The problem is that Sata him self is corrupt and has used these chaps in corruption. It is therefore difficult for him to discipline them for fear of being exposed. Simple! Dont waste our time here I.D.I.O.T.S

  15. Put in power by schemas
    Put in power by dreamas
    Who are these nation creamas
And who will be our redeamas

Careful not to name names or provide evidence. Until then it is hearsay…

  16. This is nonsensical news, and should be condemned
LT you should be ashamed of publishing news from unknown NGO
If my fiance Nick and me forms an NGO and we start passing baseless comments are you going to print those as well
Unforgivable, someone pass the puke bucket

    Thanks

  17. I believe what Mr Tayali has said with all my heart! I don’t know the man but what he has said is very true indeed! All the people that were brain washed by Mmembe still believe that Sata will bring change to Zambia but to be honest the only change he will bring is a president who is held hostage by crooks, schemers, jackals, hynes, wolves and scanderels!!! The most dangerous of them all is Fred Mmembe! He wants to make sure that whoever, does not tow his line is exposed and humiliated while those that worship him remain in. But the ball is in Sata’s cot to do something about it! He is already president and mmembe will not have him removed just because he has taken action against him. He needs to do the right thing!!!

  18. DOUBLE HOSTAGE sound more like it.

he is hostage to the 14 billion thieves Mumembe and Nchito and also hostage to his tribal grouping GBM and Kambwil.

Thats what makes the president torn between 2 decisions all the time. He has to yield to his tribalism and also to his ‘all weather’ friends who run his propaganda….very difficult balancing act.

  19. Tayali, what are you saying? Sata is part of this scheme of corruption. How do you explain the RDA at State House? You are quiet, you Kolwestan Tayali. What about the main trips of the first-second-third lady Kaseba, no whose account? When Maureen did the same Tayali and all the stupid NGOs talked, especially Mwansa Kabanda Kolwestan now on Constitution committee that he condemned. Fake Kolwes!!!

  20. Sorry, I am also from Kolwestan by name but my mother is Lozi. Lozis and Tongas are decent people. They do not have schools for theft while my Dad’s side it is a promoted value. I know what I am talking about, they will ruin Zambia these Kolwestans mina batu!

    • That is why i criticise my thieving kinsmen because they tarnish our image. There are some of us we are very decent and sweat for every penny. In fact there are many of us but just those rotten few who want fast money/wealth bring us down. Kanshi tukasolva shani?

  21. Mr Tayili, even your president himself is corrupt to the core. Is employing his relatives and tribesmen only not corrupt action? He has sent three of his neices from one family (Muwowo girls) into the foreign service and the list goes on. One would be forgiven if they believed the president was voted in by his immediate and extended families only.

  22. I am not disowning my Dad’s origin, but stating facts. Niba ka bolala, kimasholi, mbakabwalala, nimbala imwe bantu. How many Lozis, Tongas, Nyanjas, Lundas, Luvales, Kaondes are being probed or have been probed or convicted of corruption compared to Bembas? Please, someone must research so that we put it on record that, yes the Kolwestan Clan are thieves. We just want confirmation otherwise we know for sure.

  23. But who must, should or ought to win govt and parastatal contractd, Zambians or foreigners or both. If Zambians who must win tenders, those in opposition, those in govt or both. What is wrong with anyone of the above winning a tender? If no one wins tenders who else is suppsupposed to win govt tenders? Of one wins following laid down protocal what wrong with it? Are all applicant to tenders supposed to win at the same time? It’s so confusing thr way

  24. Let us not be conditioned by what we read. It’s important to think deep and analyse statements before making conclusions.Check the background of the person speaking, and find out what he is doing now, and what led him to utter such words. In law, every word, and even a comma counts. Let us be realistic..Do you know the deep meaning of being held hostage, and the implications of that?Do you have practical and conclusive evidence that the persons you have refered to as thieves are as you have said?Be ready to defend your position with valid facts.

  25. The buck stops at Sata’s feet. He is not been held hostage. He is part of the mafia. It is his name that was on the ballot paper . The misrule and corruption is his and his alone! It is not Mmembe nor GMB who stood for the Presidency!

  26. If Tayali is too much of a coward to name the criminals then why not just keep quiet. Some people like wasting time and breath saying nothing

  27. LT who is responsible for searching for news; this chap has become very very very lazy that he/she can’t even press the enter button to google search. Even Reuters has news worth reading about my beautiful country, not this drivel by this non entity chap wasting donors funds!

  28. If you LT chaps carry on sleeping on the job you will end up like that kachepa 360 website; people will forget you. You are going to wake up and only see the counter on the left showing 2 people online; 2 LT admins!

  29. This justifies that the WISE COME FROM THE EAST. this is the best news ever since PF went in office only to be written by an eaterner, also published by LT a pro.PF PAPER. UMODZI KUMAWA

  30. satana sold this country, but the good news is that the lozis are ruling in the name of mmembe and kabimba. mmembe is called bo mmembe by his close relatives and friends not ba mmembe.winter is also called bo kabimba by his friends and relatives, why? both are more closer to their lozi families as opposed to the other.

  32. I wish I were back home. As a citizen I would request a court order to have Mr. Tiyali give the nation a list of corrupt police and ACC officers along with a list of thieves, crooks, schemas who steal in broad day light and what they have stolen while the Zambian people are watching. If Mr. Tiyali means well, his NGO should have a case against these people who are abusing the offices. The article is full of sentiments but lacks evidence and facts spelled out in black and white. Let Mr. Tiyali point out those he is talking about and let justice prevail. These sentiments have come after two top PF officials are under investigation. We need Mr. Tiyali to go and submit his evidence against the two to court and not via the media. He should be constructive.

  33. Educator, M’membe called Chiluba a thief but he is worse than Chiluba. Mr. Tayali has been fighting this corruption for sometime practically that he has even intervened in the DBZ case where M’membe and his friend Mutembo Nchito stole money. What more evidence do you want when you see people coming up with companies other than their usual business. Kabimba went and created a company to deal on oil soon after PF came in power after chairing the ERB and oil procurement inquiry. Read the full statement of this brave young man on http://www.facebook.com/groups/339699146040681/

  34. I DON’T WANT TO BELIEVETHAT PRESIDENT SATA IS HELD HOSTAGE BECAUSE PRESIDENT SATA WORKS ON VIABLE EVIDENCE, IF THERE IS PROOF THAT THERE ARE MINISTERS WHO ARE CORRUPT, PRESIDENT SATA IS A MAN OF NO NOSENSE, ITS ONLY THAT HE RESPECTS THE RULE OF LAW.
THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO PLANDERED LIKE HAKAINDE HICILEMA DURING PRIVITIZATION BUT THE PRESIDENT SAYS LETS GATHER ALL THE EVIDENCE AND ASSESS THE DAMAGE CAUSED BEFORE WE FINALLY THROUGH HIM ‘HH’ IN GALLOWS.

  35. Tayali: Mwanawasa was put to power by the corrupt FTJ MMD regime but he used his position to purge off corruption. Sata could do the same if he was not corrupt. Unfortunately the man(Sata) is corrupt to the core and he knows that by fighting his corrupt friends they will expose him and finish him off.

    • Mwanawasa was a hostage of this same cabal that ousted RB’s mmd. And has control of statehouse. If u don’t believe use your memory box back the appointments made especially the post secondments

  36. Zambians, Who is Chilufya Tayali??? He does’ny need everyone’s attention. I know him to the core. He is an opportunist just like his fallen elder brother, Frank Tayali. Do you all remember, Frank Tayali? The former COBSU President and then UPND Youth Chairman and we don’t know how he managed to penetrate DEC and became one of the officers. Thereafter, he was found in very serious corruption scanders. You learned Zambians have forgotten? Now, the same Frank TRayali has come back thru the back door using his family member called Chilufya. Let us be serious Zambains!! Let us spend energy on substance issues.

  37. For me, what is worse than Sata’s condoning and abetting corruption within his inner circle is his unashamed tribalistic tendencies. God save us

We can swing the votes once more!!

  39. This guys Tayali says “We have no doubt that President Michael Sata mean to fight corruption but he is surrounded by corrupt people,” Does this statement make sense? How does Sata surround himself with corrupt people if he is serious about fighting corruption? Anyway this Tayali guy sounds so ignorant. It is basic knowledge that you can tell the attitude and character of a national by the characters that he surrounds himself with. It is foolish to suggest that Sata is serious about fighting corruption, when his entire political life has no trace of that.

  40. Bravo, Tayali, however Sata has powers to elliminate anybody corrupt despite sponsoring him to the State House, it just needs boldness and some guts as Mwanawase did against Chiluba and his mafia. He should look foreward to the Zambian people to have confidence and courage not look at a Schema like M’membe who is now controlling all the tender bids through the state house like how RB’s children were behaving. If he doesn’t get lead of M’membe, Winter,GBM then his fight is ill gotten and he wont succesed.

  41. @MUSHOTA#24 There you are again with your usual disguised praises about your “Nick” Who wants to dwell on that boring old scotish junk anyway. We have had enough of that garbbage, please substitute that poor “Nick” of yours with something which can spark sanity in your life. So many bloggers have beautiful wives, husdbands and lovers, and they do not tell the world about their private lives. Based on empirical evidence, you are the only moron who derives pleasure from your vomit, shame. Ask a clinician to dignose those maladies in your otherselves. BOOM & WHATEVER.

  42. @Mushota#24
You keep on talking about issues unrelated to pertinent matters which are above your level, and you constantly attempt to unite hog wash and sense, yet you luck skills in analysing matters and arguments. You are under the impression that your self-opinionated shallow approach to these intricate matters is excellent, yet the opposite holds true. You cannot address your “Nick” the way you do if he was a learned individual or a scholar. Your approach to anything is as such because it reflects your underlying true identity and other related shortfalls/shortcomings. Attend distant learning online courses because the possiblity for you to reconstruct your pathetic personality will be strong.

  43. @Mushota#24
There is absolutely nothing worth recognition which your “Nick” and yourself can do or share with the above average audience. It is very clear that you are predisposed to imaginations and concoctions which are designed to humiliate weak victims of your schemes. Thus, you find it seemingly well to always target Zambians/Zambia as these people/country prone to your unqualified observations. Fortunately for you or unfortunately for Zambins/Zambia, no one seems to construct an argument which can expose you as a fraud hidding behind abuse. Tell your”Nick to go hell for all I care. Good day and wash your rotten head

  44. Your stomach is highly dysfunctional in that it digests your trash and, you sit there without any conscious within your soul. No wonder you a total pack of rejected junk, even a purppie will not rush to the gate when it hears the owner hooting in front of his house if you accompanied him/her. Those people in Scotland always look at you in part because they are wondering as to when you will their homeland. How do you know that some one is looking at you if you are not looking at him/her simultaneously? You are a liar.

  45. The only solution is greater transparancy. Maybe even a time limited amnesty for past crimes. However, greater transparancy – openness towards parliament (ok, it has the MMD in it), the press and the general public.

Transparancy is the best disinfectant for corruption.

  46. @DR. MPO. YOU ARE A BIG FOOL WHO SPEAKS OF WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW. WHICH CHILUFYA TAYALI ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT TO BE RELATED TO FRANK TAYALI? YOU MUST BE MISTAKEN. CHILUFYA TAYALI IS NOT IN ANYWAY RELATED TO FRANK TAYALI SO HAVE YOUR FACTS CORRECTED. GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE THE YOUNG MAN IS DOING A GOOD JOB AND HAS COURAGE TO SPEAK OUT. GOOD WORK YOUNG MAN US WHO KNOW YOU, APPRECIATE THE PERSON YOU ARE
