Nkana arrive in Tunisia

Nkana have arrived in Tunisia ahead of Saturday evenings 2014 CAF Confederation Cup Group B clash against Etoile du Sahel.

The team touched down in Tunis at lunchtime on Tuesday.

“We arrived at around 13h30 at Tunis airport and later took a two hour drive to Sousse where Etoile are based,” Nkana team manager Charles Chakataziya said from Sousse on Thursday evening.

“We had an injury free training on Thursday morning and afternoon.We are accommodated at Hotel Khalef. We are looking forward to the game.”

Meanwhile, Nkana are still anxiously waiting striker Festus Mbewe’s clearance to future in Saturday 20h00 kickoff.

FIFA has yet to issue Mbewe’s international transfer certificate clearing him to feature for Nkana.

This follows the recent expiry of his six-month loan deal at demoted South African side Golden Arrows.

“We have not yet received anything from FIFA but we are keeping our fingers crossed,” Chakataziya said.

Nkana are bottom of Group B with one point and are searching for their first pool win after two rounds of matches played.

2006 champions Etoile are second on two points, two behind leaders Al Ahly of Egypt.

Sewe Sport of Cote d’Ivoire who handed Nkana their first point in Group B in a 1-1 draw in Kitwe on May 24 are third on two points.

  2. May NKANA be put to rest well. It is not a secret that they are weeping boys of the group stop wasting tax payers money just surrender before the competition ends to save the dollar for our dwindling kwacha
