Share

In a heartfelt appeal, Dr. Nevers Sekwila Mumba has called on government authorities to facilitate the travel of Honourable Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) to South Africa for urgent medical treatment.

Dr. Mumba, who visited GBM in the hospital, revealed that GBM is in need of specialized medical care that is not available locally. Understanding the gravity of GBM’s condition, Dr. Mumba emphasized the importance of accessing the correct medical help in South Africa.

Expressing concern for his dear brother’s health, Dr. Mumba urged the government to expedite the process of authorizing GBM’s travel to South Africa for the necessary treatment.

GBM’s health condition underscores the critical need for timely and appropriate medical intervention.Last evening, Former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, paid a visit to GBM at Medland Hospital. He was accompanied Hon Brian Mundubile and Honorable Joe Malanji.
Earlier, GBM was visited by various people that included Dr. Fred M’membe President of Socialist party, party Vice President Hon Given Lubinda, Hon Richard Musukwa, Hon Richard Kachingwe, former Republican Vice President, Dr Nevers Mumba and Hon Miles Sampa, MP

  1. GBM can afford to pay for his medication. The person that decides who should be allowed to travel abroad for treatment has just returned from Kenya. Soon you’ll hear ka Masebo make that announcement. She’ll be like ” His Excellence the Able Leader in his universal kindness has authorized the evacuation of opposition leader for treatment.” Same sh it , different day!

    • Can the family please protect GBM’s privacy, keep politics out his health. It’s like he has become a “billboard” for politicians of all shades and sizes.
      Wishing you a quick recovery!

    • He isn’t asking for government to pay but to facilitate. The government has apparently held up his medical travel.

    • What privacy? He is a political subject in and out. Noone forced him into the no holds barred profession so why would he bar political billboards at his bedside?

    • BaStormy Daniels, at the moment he is a patient like any other with vulnerabilities. His age makes him more vulnerable than other age groups. Ask those who lost elderly relatives to Covid what they wish they had done.

  2. Like I said if he’s issues with the courts just ensure that measures are put in place to prevent him from running away…. he’s capable of paying for himself….if we ordinary poor people can pay for ourselves how can he fail?

  5. Power blinds weak, and immoral minds. It blinds from the suffering of others. It causes them to rejoice at letting their enemies suffer.
I don’t like GBM, but to deny him travel to seek medical attention is just heartless; evil.

    • He has not be denied travel at his own expense
Nobody in the country has ever been denied travel at their expense
      Bad reporting I would say

  7. Are you suggesting that even those bazungu treating GBM lack the competence to do so? It seems to imply that Zambia’s offerings are subpar, which is an insult to the Zambian healthcare system, even after 60 years of reliance on other nations. It’s disgraceful! The previous government boasted about infrastructure yet failed to construct hospitals on par with those in South Africa or India. The current government was expected to rectify these issues, but unfortunately, there has been no progress in that domain. Why should government resources be expended on self-proclaimed billionaires like CK or GBM? It’s illogical.

    • It’s the equipment that is lacking and consequently the trained staff to use it.
Expose our health workers to that and they will excel.

  8. Let the man go get medical attention but foot his own bills. If he runs, well, for how long can he stay away from his country and his businesses? Akabwela.

    • If you can see him laughing with his mates. What does that mean???

He know the gasers.. when will he tell the nation???

    • It’s very true. Doctors usually bar photographers from a patient. I suspect the paparazzi have overwhelmed the hospital authorities
