The End of An Affair: Goodbye Wynter. Goodbye Political Immaturity

Share

Goodbye
Hjoe Moono

The fired and retired Hon. Wynter Kabimba, the man that found pomp and splendor and an inflated ego of extreme self-importance, the man that has never won an election in his entire political career, failing twice as MP in his home town was clearly the biggest liability to the PF and Mr. Sata. His actions of late, where he carried a ruthless campaign with the support of his colleagues with equally inflated egos and huge financial liabilities calling themselves “King-Makers” pushed his luck too far.

He crossed the boundaries when he pulled the final string to hanging himself and his nonexistent political career that existed only in the friendly media he engaged for image building when he begun to attack senior members of cabinet like Hon. Alexander Bwalya Chikwanda. Clearly, he got too big for his boots and for a while become the political fool he was, and yes, look who is now laughing? He who laughs last laughs longest.

Before his joining the PF, there is really nothing Wynter had to show for both from his legal practice or from his work in local government or indeed in politics. He was an absolute failure with an exaggerated feel of extreme importance always living in the shadows of others. His arrogance, coupled with ignorance and a poor political foresight made him blind to the realities on the ground: That he is an appointed MP living at the mercy of the appointing authority, the president. His antagonizing duly elected MPs that he felt were threats to his none-existent political career was clearly a sign of political immaturity. Wynter, unlike the other elected MPs lacked the political rigour and appreciation of managing people’s aspirations and needs. He lacked empathy in his governance style—what would we expect from a failed project anyway? Here is a man who would go on national TV and say the party has money for by-elections and would be happy to have as many as possible even when many people are living in abject poverty and hunger. Such recklessness made many of us question the aims of the PF in nation building.

[pullquote]Here is a man, upon being appointed into the PF leadership, goes to his hometown and says: “You rejected me twice, now you see where I am? You thought I wouldn’t make it huh?” [/pullquote]

Here is a man that had the audacity, after spending billions of kwacha on the constitution, to say that it was not a priority and that it would not be decided upon by a by a small group of educated Zambians who use Chizungu (English) in social clubs. Here is a man, upon being appointed into the PF leadership, goes to his hometown and says: “You rejected me twice, now you see where I am? You thought I wouldn’t make it huh?” And so it was, that the immature politician suddenly was the talk of the nation and the darling of the press. Clearly the man had no regard for the welfare of the nation. His only goal, blinded by power and fake popularity in his friendly media, was to be the main man, launching a campaign to send off his perceived enemies from the PF. Little did he know that he was shadow boxing, alone in the ring and the only audience he had was his praise singing newspaper. He clearly outlived his usefulness in the PF.

Kabimba deserved to be fired from the party and dropped from Parliament too, only then will sanity return to Zambia’s governance system. Perhaps caught with pants down, a clown he is, he goes round Solwezi with hired crowds, and then boom: The best news the country has been waiting for comes through—the inflated balloon is popped! I can only imagine the look on his face when he heard the good news. I bet he shed a tear or two—he deserved it. What an educated ignorant arrogant man he is. The harder they come, the harder they fall indeed.

We have said it before, that this man had been proving to be terminally untrustworthy and close to being disturbed. He was proving to be an obsessive confidence-trickster who seems to live in an imaginary world created in his head. To the extent that he even believes what he said, he was delusional. To the extent that he did not, he is/was an actor whose first invention — himself — has been his only interesting role, and expects the entire nation to find amusement in his trickery. His tricks have failed him. He pushed his luck too far.

He forgot that he had no constituency, and then he goes to mock the man that made him who he is by antagonizing mature and level headed men like Hon. Alexander Chikwanda. He should have known better not to cross the path of senior men with authority. He should have treaded carefully when ABC warned of the bruises that may befall the PF antagonists. But alas, the man and his colleagues thought they would have an easy go on ABC as they have had with the others. And today, Zambians have celebrated just as they did in 2011 when PF won: The liability of progress is out of the way.

If Kabimba is as popular and as strong as he was being portrayed, let him form his own party and challenge the current regime. Let us hear him go to his hometown and mock the people that didn’t vote for him again, as he did when he was appointed minister. Let him offer checks and balances from the terraces, otherwise, he is obsolete, like a dog without a bone, he too has joined the ranks of those he retired.

In his lessons learned from Wynter Kabimba, Antonio Mwanza of the Forum for Democracy and Development fittingly says: “Wynter’s fate should remind all of us never to put our lives in the hands of other men. The mistake Wynter made was to put all his eggs in President Sata’s laps. Look, Wynter had no job apart from the jobs Sata had given him. He was a nominated MP, appointed Minister and appointed SG. The man had nothing of his own! His fate was is President Sata’s hands.Secondly, Wynter allowed the little power Sata had borrowed him to get to his small head. He was all puffed up, arrogant and overzealous. I remember, in 2011 when myself, Comrade Stanford Kabwata and Wynter Kabimba featured on Muvi TV’s Hot Issue Program, the man was full of himself to the point of insulting us for living in the ghetto. As the easteners say, Wynter forgot that masiku ni panyo pa tambala”.

Goodbye Wynter, what next for you?

  1. Alexander Chikwanda is actually the one who has fired Kabimba in the name of President Sata just like Kabimba fired Mangani in the name of the president. Kabimba was indeed too arrogant but i don’t think he should be blamed alone for the failed constitution. Blaming him is like making him the sacrificial lamb on the failed promises of the entire PF of which masses have already been blinded to think Kabimba failed to give people a constitution. Kabimba is hardworking except he mostly doesnt know how to relate with people causing himself to be naturally hated by people.

    • The enemy of progress is out of the way.
Well said Mr Author. I think it’s for his own good that Wynter had to go. Because at the rate were going, anything bad was going to happen to him. It’s actually for his own good. Rest well Mr. Kabimba and all the best. Just live a quiet private life and away from politics.

    • The firing of Wynter should be extended to boycotting of the Post newspaper, the firing of Mutembo Nchito, Matibini, Lombe Chibesakunda and Musa Mwenye. PF will win the general election if these officials are sacked , if they start to respect the Public Order Act, stop harassing opposition party leaders and stop political violence. Kabimba and the individuals listed above are the ones responsible for all this evil

    • That article is too much, who ever wrote it sounds like Kabimba in earlier days. Guys lets be cool headed and pray for Wynter. Its not good to encourage him to leave Zambia in shame.

    • @ Obatala,

You forgot George Chella. Chella actually works for the Post and the article about Wynter’s firing was edited by him. Uncanny. This country is indeed a shambles!

    • 24 years after the introduction of democracy Zambian voters still fail to vote wisely. It appears the disease in Zimbabwe (where they are so afraid of voting against Bob thinking he is seeing them even in the closet of a voting booth) spreading to Zambia? I am afraid so. If indeed PF were causing violence in Mufumbwe, Musanzala, Mangango, L/stone, why were voters in those constituencies voting for a violent party? Because if you come to me with violence and I see you intimidating the candidates competing against your party, you have definitely lost my vote. In fact, if you make so much noise in my street shouting obscenities against your opponents to an extent that I cannot sleep, you have lost my vote.

    • WYNTER BAMUCITA GETOUT!! I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT AS A POLITICIAN NEVER PUT YOUR POLITICAL CAREER IN THE HANDS OF FEW PERCEIVED STRONG INDIVIDUALS. ITS THE MISTAKE WYNTER MADE…SOME PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT EVEN SATA WAS HIMSELF DISAPOINTED IN MMD BUT HERE ARE THE DIFFRENCES; SATA WAS LIKED BY A GOOD NUMBER OF PIPO COZ OF HIS ACTION STANCES IN THE MINISTRIES HE WAS MINISTER, WYNTER HAS NEVER BEEN CLOSE TO SATAZ ACHIEVEMENTS… UNLIKE SATA, WYNTER WAS A NOMINATED POLITICIAN WHOSE POLITICAL CAREER WAS ALSO NOMINATED BY SATA..PROJECT WYNTER HAS CRASH LANDED JUST LIKE PROJECT MAGANDE. WYNTER SHOULD BE ASSURED THAT MEMBE WILL MOVE ON AND FORGET WYNTER IN NO TIME. YOU HAVE BEEN USED IN VAIN BO WYNTER.

    • ” It appears the disease in Zimbabwe (where they are so afraid of voting against Bob thinking he is seeing them even in the closet of a voting booth) spreading to Zambia? ”

That is such an infantile explanation of the massive defeat the neoliberal sellout MDC received at the hands of the people’s party, the liberation movement’s party, that it doesn’t even survive 3 seconds of contemplation.

Fact: the MDC consists of chancers (Tsvangirai, Biti, Makoni), bitter and very racist Rhodesians (Cross, Bennett, Kaye), and Matabele secessionists, who all want to return Zimbabwe to being a functional colony of De Beers. The ZANU-PF is the people’s party – and the fact that 80% of Zimbabweans are Shona doesn’t hurt. Also, people don’t hate having their land returned either.

    • The MDC is so out of touch and aloof, that they visited these economic sanctions on the people and country of Zimbabwe without telling them! And because unlike the ANC which is a real liberation movement, they did not have the thumbs up from the people of Zimbabwe, for the last 13 years they have been lying about the very existence of economic sanctions, calling them ‘restrictive measures’ or ‘personal travel restrictions’. Even though the introduction of those sanctions on Jan. 1st 2002, coincides with the collapse of the Zimbabwe Dollar vs the US Dollar in 2002. And the collapse of tobacco exports in 2002.

Google: zimbabwe democracy recovery act govtrack txt

The sanctions are in Section 4C, called “Multilateral Financing Restrictions”.

  2. The problem is that people never learn. Hope the others have learnt or are learning from what has happened to the little man. I really want to know what he will say next on the constitution.
By the way, I hope he did not have political enemies in the opposition otherwise it is the haddest fall in the political history of Zambia. Anyway, well come back to “earth” little man!!

    • The same cadres who are celebrating the departure of that man are just waiting for another of his kind to follow the same orders to intimidate the opposition using govt (tax payers) resource base. Winter made all those mistakes with their backing. Thugs are thugs till they are locked away or power pulled from their feet.

  3. Mr Moono chizungu chachilamo mwe. Next time summarize tili kujob some of us we will be caught reading these long articles on comapny computers

    • Did Winter single-handedly:

      1. stop the constitution process?
      2. abuse the Public Order Act?
      3. Orchestrate the hate speech against one HH in particular and the tonga people in general?
      3. ridicule the Litunga, the Chtimukulu and other traditional leaders?
      4. Prevent the President from holding press briefings as expected by Zambians?
      5. stop the payment of K14bn to (Kr14m) to Development Bank of Zambia?

If he single-handedly did these evil deeds, then he has special skills and qualities which should be channeled in areas that will be of benefit to Zambia. But certainly not domestic politics.

    • Moono, I loved reading your write-up. Wonderful description of your subject matter. I hope to chance another one soonest. Wewe monsi sana.

  4. Umulinganya mapuli ulaponwesha! Kabimba started comparing his nat-sack naba Chikwanda and guess uuponweke..F00ls paradise boy!

  5. Kabimba go take two glasses of cold humility, two tablets of level headedness 3times a day and a diet of balanced sober reality sprinkled with spices of respectfulness. If bad symptoms persist please see a doctor in 2016.

  6. Let the little tiny ***** go rot in hell he thought he was bigger than Zambia we warned him that no one is. Now it is time to kick his small a.s.s!

  7. It must be agonizing for Wynter to realize that there was so much hatred against him. I have not seen a single post coming to his defence. How long did it take the PF to realize that he was the undesired element? Saulosi, Mushota and others must be burrowing in shame!!!

  8. You are the people promoting tribalism. Now that winter is out PF is a bemba political party to the delight tribal politicians who think using tribe.

  9. The article is absolutely spot on about the arrogant empty tin Kambimba but who fired him is it the incapacitated president ….how do you fire someone who has acted as President via a press release to media not even the Press Officer showing his face. Leadership in our country has truly gone to the dogs.
Now that the thing has been fired what of the issue of constitution, whereabouts of the deadwood in Statehouse, the conflict of interest by Fossil ABC in mines etc do we just forget about it.
Zambians wake up from your docility!!

    • Don’t think you are more zambian than others .Please learn to embrace diversity instead of being mono-minded.The fact that majority of Zambian’s have shunned supporting UPND does not entail that they are docile. Respect people’s choices.

    • @Robert,
We gave these faggots a chance to rule and see what we get! We need to move on and not just sing the same song. This explains why in Japan and Italy, governments have changed within months in the past because of failure to perform like the way Sata is.
We can’t get involved in the PF bedroom issue; all we want are results for Zambia.
This PF has to go the way Wyter Kabimba has gone, then Zambia can start breathing again. Sata and PF have failed and because of trying too hard, the man has over loaded himself and is now on his death bed. No one was elected President but Sata and he should do his job and not get paid for sleeping 23.5HRS a day. The man only works during feeding times and you think you can develop? Where is Kabimba? On his way from Zambezi Boma? And Dr Kaseba?

  10. No one feels sympathy for Kabimba, whether Tonga, Lozi, Bemba or whatever unless your are the new PF bootlicker like Saulosi or Mushota. Kabimba has no tact, no political skill and definitely lacks people skills. That is why he’s never won a single legal case let alone an election. Now that he will be meeting GBM on a level playing field, it will great to see who will get the real bruising now!!

    Thanks!

    • A few months ago I visited my beloved country and stayed at the Intercontinental. One morning from a morning jog I was ushered aside in the lobby to ‘allow’ Wynter to pass. I didn’t know who the little man was I thought he was some head of state but when I enquired I was told it was Summerbee Kambimba , I couldn’t believe that cabinet Ministers are now accompanied by bodyguards. Had I been away from Zambia that long?

    • Wynter whilst in PF was the sum of all men in the world…..he was thee MAN! I am told even his colleagues in PF used to fear him; not respect him but fear him. Isn’t he the man who was directing the Speaker of the National Assembly to intimidate the elected MPs? Wanya Wynter and I am not Bemba so no tribalism here!!!!!

    • @Uwakwisano, Wynter may not have won a single case or an election, but definitely he has won and sustained many erections!! Ask Sylvia and she will confirm that.

  11. Honour your biological father and mother and all shall be well with you!
Someone said Sata knew them better than his own biological father.
Imagine the pain this chap has caused his parents?
He who begets a f.o.o.l does so to his own sorrow!
I pray Wynter doesn’t end up like Judas (hanging himself).

  12. So Kabimba got the news at a rally?! Wow!!! And this is the guy who worked so hard for Sata to be elected.

Even when Kabimba new very well Sata`s level of tribalism Kabimba still thought Sata would make him successor. Very stupid–Kabimba!

    • At least there has been no declaration on who should lead PF. UPND made a declaration that only a tonga can lead UPND. It does not matter who leads PF as long as he or she is a Zambian.

  13. Politics is a game. Just build yourself wynter the way sata did. The days are still bright for you. However, help zambians to push for the constitution and to identify PF weaknesses.

  14. Put your trust in God not in man&what you make happen to your friendz is what God will make happen to you in the same way.to much of everything is bad.bye-bye Hon w.kabimba

  15. What we should not forget is that the Patriotic Front (PF) won the 2011 elections based on a very organised collaborative system put together and modelled on the western (USA) type of political system where leaders are chosen by a secret society who have actually maintained power through the ages. Whether you talk about George Bush (Republican), who pursued aggressive politics and followed by Barak Obama (Democrat), who is relatively diplomatic and talked tough about changing the way USA does politics, they are put in office by the same people, a secret society. The Bwinjimfumu Cartel or other system behind them created this system which included the PF itself as a party, the church (especially Catholic Church), individuals who were of good standing and CSOs (may be duped or consciously)…

    • and off course the Post Newspaper to disseminate the propaganda that Sata and PF were the saviour. This is not just about individuals but about a system which is designed to live long and perpetuate power in the hands of a few people. The “System” may have come up with a strategy to re-invent itself by sacrificing elements that have become obviously hated by the masses like Wynter Kabimba. We may see the rest of the Cartel being ejected from the “System” soon. But this is just for the public to re-gain confidence in the PF and vote for them come 2016 elections. We may see Wynter Kabimba and Fred Mmembe/ Mutembo Nchito being pursued by ACC for alleged corruption (oil deals and K14 billion, respectively) to show that the PF is really allergic to corruption. Wynter Kabimba and Fred Mmembe…

    • Wynter Kabimba and Fred Mmembe will start talking against the PF to campaign for them indirectly. Meanwhile they have achieved what is enough for them already and can relax for life. After winning 2016 elections, the cases will again be swept under the carpet.

  16. What has happened is part of a grand plan by a supreme being for the end of PF as a whole because it was built on a fake foundation of lies and deception. For instance Kabimba himself said he illegally brought in Kenyans to rig the elections.

Kabimba should be asked the question “WHO WON THE 2011 ELECTION?” Were thos huge numbers we received for Northern and Luapula provinces where MMD electiion agents had been hounded our by armed PF gangs genuine?

Because of the weak moral foundation of the PF the natural course of nature will not allow PF to stand, we should actually begin to anticipate the complete collapse of the PF Government as we know it. The fake way it came into power, had an inbuilt timed mechanism for self-destruction. Watch this space.

  17. An Ode to Winter: Go Well Winter. Your integrity and love for Zambia is unblemished! You stand on high moral ground and for exposing people “sleeping” with mines/investors in exhange for supply contracts abroad. The loss of political jobs in the current PF is only a minor setback/ a lesson to make u stronger. LPM was treated the same way for standing up to corruption in the FTJ govt. But who came to wake him up in the middle of night to become President? The same scoundrels. In your case dont ever look back Winter. Go well Winter, Go well Winter!

    • Winter: Just a word of caution though! Stay clear of those with excess baggage. Those that owe DBZ! The have their own agenda which is not necessarily yours!

  18. BROTHER WINTER BEHAVED AS THOUGH HE WAS THE SON OF KING COBRA. I BELIEVE THIS IS A LESSON TO SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUCCASTIC LANGUAGE LIKE KAMBWILI TOO. KAMBWILI MUST ALSO REDUCE HIS TONE BECAUSE HE IS ALSO INJURIOUS IN SPEECH AND IS NOT HUMBLE. I LIKE MR. CHIKWANDA WHO SOMETIMES ADMIT WHEN THERE IS A MISTAKE.
KAMBWILI IS LIKE NO MAN’ SHOW AND HE IS A JACK OF ALL TRADES. YOU WILL FIND HIM TALKING ON ISSUES WHICH DO NOT ATTACH TO HIS MINISTRY, BUT WHAT IS THE MINISTER FOR THAT MINISTRY DOING? HE IS A HIJACKER.

  19. Good riddance by the ghost president. The chap was so arrogant with self esteem to an extent that he never feared anyone including his superiors like the veep. HE the ghost president must now cleanse the so called “A” team in PF. Guy scot, George chella, Emmanuel chenda, Inonge wina dirty Fackson shamenda should be fired including mutembo nchito. This is the cartel that has been undermining the ghost president with the support from the bam master fred membe. By the way information coming in say he forcibly used the president’s helicopter to take him to North Western which has cost him.

  20. i would gladly hire kabimba to pop the pimples on my bottom, as an old man i find my moist bottom lonely these days. evans mfula at evaduco reporting live from lusaka

  21. What does the phrase “masiku ni panyo pa tambala” mean. It sounds fun. Indeed “masiku ni panyo pa tambala”.

  22. Hjoe, as some of us from dallas city would say, “masiku ni panyo pa chimbwi.” FYI those of you that thought dallas city came about because of maflaty…. kabwata estates (tall buildings) are mistaken. The word “dallas” was adopted from the movie “dallas” as people in the dallas would be nicely dressed all the time. we actually used to call our “clothes” ..dallas. Ask the kabwata fool “king chipuza” Chipau Mayembe he will tell you. He a true dallas OG, born and raised in kabwata…all he knows is kabwata….dallas.

  23. It sounds as though nearly every blogger above has been irking for Kabimba’s blood. Bad though Kabimba may have been and frankly, I have had a vehement detest for his uncanny behavior with respect to the constitution, he was nonetheless a formidable asset to PF. A major concern of those who didn’t like him was that he was a rising star with presidential ambitions. But he did provide the flair that helped PF look less of a tribal kingdom.

  24. Kabimba, go straight to your mom and dad. Pray to the Lord before you talk to them, and make an apology for all the wrong words and deeds. And, withdraw yourself from all these political theories yabufi. Fyakukana pantu talika abafyashi.
