Civil rights activist Brebner Changala has observed that Zambia is drifting into a dangerous direction owing to the culture of hatred being spread by the media.
Mr. Changala said the Zambian society is being saturated with hatred mainly peddled by some media houses who seem to have differences with particular individuals in the Patriotic Front (PF) government.
He told Qfm News by telephone that he does not think it does anyone any good for the country’s economic issue to deteriorate into an exchange of bitter words between two opposing sides.
Mr. Changala said that much as he does not think Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda is a good Minister, the high level of hate messages targeted at him through some sections of the media is very dangerous to the country’s peace.
He said as Finance Minister, Mr. Chikwanda performs his duties on behalf of the Cabinet and the Republican President who is also the custodian of the Zambian people’s interests.
Mr. Changala stated that to isolate Mr. Chikwanda and go after him over any policy pronouncements of the government is a totally unacceptable and inhumane a practice that must be stopped.
He says this is particularly that such kind of hatred being directed at Mr. Chikwanda has been witnessed before when former late Republican President Frederick Chiluba and the immediate past republican President Rupiah Banda were targeted.
Mr. Changala says it is for this reason that he calls upon the church in the country to speak against such hatred that is creeping in the country.
Changala should not worry ,we have resolved as PF to close that media thru current technicalities . I Recall their hate Campaigns in the Recent past- minions, Bantuzians, Tongas under Oath , Bemba tribal Clique, lankies . It is NOW OR Never .You heard what Jean Kapata said …
What technicalities brother?The tax issues will be resolved before the court cases ends.And this will happen after 2016,when PF will be back in opposition.
I am in total support of this Brebner Changala,but i think u must be bold enough to just mention these media houses. This is Fred Mmembe & Zambian watch dog.I like it wen u plainly told off the Fred Mmembe and his post newspaper in yr article last time.We nid pipo lyk lik u.
It is very surprising honestly how the church has remained quite on matters of hatred and lies been peddled by these media houses.I mean who doesnt knw Mmembe and his evil acts? This man is so greed bt i wonder why pipo tolerant him.

Mmembe breeds hatred among Zambians. He is a psychopath, stubborn, intellectually challenged, selfish, and extremely stupid. His actions are there to show who he is. He can never be trusted. Zambia has to RISE AGAINST THIS BUFFOON NOW. PF you are in power, cut all contracts with him and his businesses, squeeze his “matole” harder. The only way to stop him is to silence him once and for all. PF needs to do this or else they will be further divided and they will lose votes from well meaning Zambians. One day he will pay for all his actions and I can see that time is very close, as the saying goes “There is no situation which remains permanent”. Only time will tell but it is very annoying to know that Mmembe is still there tormenting innocent souls.

Especially the tribal tag…that kind of labeling resulted into genocides in Rwanda and Burundi and yet we seat back and smile when these media a$$les do exactly what their counterparts did to ignite and perpetuate that human calamity.
Hard statistics show that the best jobs and contracts are not held by one particular in Zambia. The job at plot can only be held by one person at a time and that person will naturally be of one tribe. Him/she been of a tribe not yours does not mean the person is tribal.
it is pure evil for one to play the tribal card for personal reasons.
I did a bit of journalism at Mindolo and one of the thing I was taught was to avoid subjecting people to ridicule. One must report facts as they are without adding one’s opinion in the story. One paper in Zambia is fond of using destructive tactics when reporting on people they hate. It changed sides when people it wanted to take over from the late Mwanawasa failed their bid. And they are hell bent to ensure RB suffers for what ever he did against them. Even the leakages could be traced to some former staff of this news paper who are working in government.
