North-western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has commended acting President Guy Scott for reversing his decision to dismiss Defence Minister Edgar Lungu as Patriotic Front Secretary General.

Mr Mubukwanu said the move by Dr Scott to reinstate Mr Lungu is a mark of good leadership and should be commended because it is in line with the spirit of unity in the ruling party.

The provincial minister was speaking last night when he addressed Solwezi residents at St Daniels Catholic Church in Solwezi during a mass held to celebrate President Michael Sata’s life.

Mr Mubukwanu said the ruling party has a solemn duty to provide hope to the people of Zambia by avoiding divisions that can jeopardize peace in the country.

And Catholic Diocese of Solwezi Charles Kasonde has called on Zambians to mourn President Sata quietly and avoid confusion in order to maintain peace.

Bishop Kasonde has called on Christians countrywide to pray for a smooth transition of power.

He has since conveyed his condolences to the first family, government and the people of Zambia on behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Solwezi.

  1. Amba ba North Westerni Minister…. Time is slowly approaching when those words will be useful. But unfortunately noone will even be quoting the likes of you. It will be the war of elephants…. literally elephants….

    • It’s quite confusing and contradicting to words of Edgar Lungu himself. He said he was not interested in the Presidency because he is sick (diabetic). How come he cried foul after being kicked out of the SG post?? He knows that it’s the only key to plot one… Anyways, its PF’s lies as usual?? They would say Not interested when they Mean “Interested”. President not sick when they mean he is sick and dies??? Bla bla bla. Just a bunch of useless losers

    • @ PRINCE
There is the Law, due process and a time to make for everything. I dont think trying to make sure that those things are followed necessarily means that one wants to be the President. Lungu may still want to be SG for the PF but I have not read anything that has attributed a statement to Edgar Lungu wanting to be president. At least not up to now.

    • @It’s a worry: understood and thanks. Just that with these PF guys, just watch what will happen. They will push for Lungu because he is quite weak. The country will be in dispensary. By the time we realize things will be bad. Best is for Zambians not to vote for them until they show Leadership and abilities that they will not mess us up. The Party In fight tell it all.

  2. Yes, Guy Scott is a good man.
He was so much in sorrow that he could not stand people comparing him to a son of Solomon. He never fought for his position. Now who is a peaceful man today in Zambia…? GUY SCOTT.

    • guy scott should remember that his positions are temporal, 3 months at best. is it worth choosing sides or remaining neutral and unifying

  3. What is wrong with in north western province?
There was a time this province was source of pride.
We had leadership in Peter Matoka, Humphrey Mulemba, Enock Kavindele, Fines Bulawayo Kankasa and and many more.
In football we produced some of the best soccer players….Kajiya, Pele Kaimana, Obby Kapita and many more.

Today we have nothing to show off. The minister is Lozi, The PS is……the Bishop of Solwezi is Bemba.
These days even the language has been infiltrated. There is less Kaonde, Kalunda being spoken in the streets. Ba fi………….have come in the province.
We are no longer a proud group. We used to sharpen our teeth with pride….but now we are ashamed.
Unless we show our pride, we will have no place in Zambia!!!!

    • @Kalubale…. what did the politician you mention do for the province?? Kafwapo mwane. Njizhinatu? Nothing ! At least footballers brought pride.

    • @Kalubale

You have taken down memory lane and I can hear Dennis Liwewe running commentary…and now the ball is passed onto the centre half and it finds Francis….Francis Kajiya..he takes the ball and races in the eastern direction, he beats one and lobes it into the the 18….Francis oh Francis!!!!

Bane the days of Pele Kaimana, Obby Kapita werre the ‘zenith’ of that era’s pround Zambian soccer!

North Western Province dont underrate yourselves. Remember you were the ones that opened up to challenge wamuya KK through ‘fine tuning’ Kavindele? But Kavindele withdrew fearing going ‘by air’! And so when Chiluba came, we used to sing….sinibwelela kwati Kavindele, sinibwelela kwati Kavindele…Kaunda naye analumpa kale..

    • @Kalubale
North Western is a dead province because the people there are very lazy and spend most of their time pitying themselves.
A few years ago Mwinilunga Secondary School won the National Schools Coca Cola Cup a good development but ask me how much locals were in that team? Two Mufwakolo and another boy yet we have been complaining that we are represented in the National Soccer Team.
After the budget was presented there was alot of crying that the government had not given us the University. But how many children from Northern Province go to UNZA? very few. A few years ago one School in Southern Province produced more students accepted to UNZA than the whole of North Western Province. So what University do you want when Mwinilunga and Solwezi trades are white elephants?

  4. This politician has eyes but he sees not and has ears but he hears not. When Wynter Kabimba was fired recently, they showered the one who fired him with all kinds of accolades and convened a party to celebrate Kabimba’s departure. When Edgar Lungu got fired under similar circumstances, they viciously turned on the one who fired him, cursed and called him all sorts of innuendos and convened an emergency meeting to have Lungu reinstated. That is what Satanists are good at.

  5. Well said Hon.Mubukwanu!Edgar Lungu is the choisen one by Sata,so many of us PF lovers would make him the 6th president!no opposition can defeat PF with Edgar Lungu bcoz Eastern province will be added on to our traditional strongholds namely:Luapula,Nothern,Muchinga,Copperbelt urban,Central urban,Lusaka urban!this would leave HH with only southern and MMD almost with no stronghold!western and north-western will be shared mostly between PF and UPND!this is a reality in upcoming presidential elections!so Edgar Lungu has very high chances of replacing Sata at plot 1 soon!
