Media expert Emmanuel Mwamba has dispelled rumours that former First Lady Christine Kaseba has withdrawn from the PF presidential race.
Some strong rumours emerged Thursday evening that Dr Kaseba had withdrawn her nomination for the PF presidency after consulting her family members.
But Mr Mwamba who is also former Information and Broadcasting Permanent Secretary clarified that such reports are untrue and that Dr Kaseba is still in the race.
Mr Mwamba was speaking this morning when he featured on Radio Phoenix’s Let the People Talk discussing the state of the media.
“I have heard rumours and seen some postings on social media that Dr Kaseba has withdrawn. No such thing has happened. She is still in the race. As somebody who has followed these nominations closely, I can confirm that Dr Kaseba has not withdrawn,” Mr Mwamba said.
He also cautioned Zambians against spreading false stories especially on social media.
“To the Journalists, we need to be responsible before we post anything on social media, unlike ordinary citizens, we have the verification tools. We can call the sources and confirm stories before we publish them,” he said.
Mr Mwamba also advised citizens to go to credible and reliable news sites if they are looking for information about national affairs.

I think this is were the challenge is for PF…. Edgar Lungu and Mulenga Sata are cousins……..their mothers are sisters and of course judge Chikopa from Malawi is Edgar’s uncle. This one is a trick situation for the PF. Those arguing that she was not the president therefore she can’t loose her inherited benefits, I have one question for you. Ok lets say hypothetically speaking she was successful in securing the top job and after 3 years she decided to retire. Are we saying that she would be entitled to 2 benefits?
