Father kills 6 year old son over beans

Share

A 33-year-old man of Mulenga Chipalo village in chief Chipalo’s area in Luwingu district of the Northern Province has killed his son over beans.
Ruben Bwalya killed his six year-old-son yesterday after the boy ate the entire pot of cooked beans.

Police in Luwingu confirmed to ZANIS that the incident happened during lunch hour after discovering that there was no relish for lunch as the beans which had just been prepared had been eaten.

When he asked, the child admitted to having consumed the beans because he was hungry. The answer annoyed Mr. Bwalya who then whipped the child until he died.

Police said Mr Bwalya whipped his son before being rushed to the district hospital where he was pronounced dead. Mr Bwalya later ran into the nearby bush.

Police have since launched a man hunt for Mr Bwalya who is suspected to be in neighbouring Kawambwa district in Luapula Province.

  1. How can someone eat beans for lunch? , isnt that breakfast what a country. Me and my irish bf we eat that for breakfast Thanks

  2. I thought that it was usual for parents to go hungry so that their children can eat. Some people should not become parents at all. Kupaya mwana wa vyaka 6 chifukwa cha beans?

  3. Ah ah! Just yesterday Rev. Moses Lungu spilt the beans. Today a 6yr old boy has been killed by his father over beans! Is it the same beans Rev. Lungu spilt yesterday? OMG!

  4. The question is how much beans was in the pot? Because the story says the boy ate all the beans from the pot. I should believe the beans was enough for whole family (not knowing how many they’re), and obviously the pot is of considerable size. But then, the boy alone eating it all, really puzzles me. I can imagine if the boy had tempted to carry out such a ‘self help mission’ when the pot was loaded with full chicken, Eish he would have been circum………………….sed! He must have been on the last verge of hunger deluge. It appears the beans is making headlines lately.

  5. Sorry about that incident. Surely the man will be charged with manslaughter unless he was in the habit of beating him over any slight mistake. Poor soul!

  6. The other time we learn t of the man who pushed his pregnant wife to death over fish, today another fo.ol kills his own child over a pot of grains of beans ….May the poor soul of the child rest in peace….Surely how can some one be hate so much over food elo beans for that matter…..What if the child had hate chicken, the busterd would have crushed not whip the child to death…..Ba Bwalya an eye for an eye…you need to go and say sorry to your child in person….

  7. Northern and Luapula Province its too much you are always in the news…killing….rape….robbery…..witch craft……all the bad things are happeing in your areas ala mulimbe nzelu just this year you rape a chicken…detained a pregnant woman…..awe mwandi. Please go and wash yourselves in the lake Bangweulu. Twanaka nenu.

  8. but this man is foolish instead of him being happy that the child has a good apetite he kills him demet. over beans sure what about chicken

  9. beans beans the musical fruit the more you eat the more you toot the more you toot the better you feel, beans beans….,but to get murdered over kabulangeti is really sad.

  10. This must be a joke of a parent. For the young boy to go to the extend of eating yonse cilemba simply shows that the guy never provided breakfast for the family. There was a case in one of the local tabloids where a mother went to the extent of burning her own child on the fingers and reason that K2,000 (2 pin) went missing in her house. she actually used mbabula. The burns were so severe that doctors recommended that the affected fingers be amputated. This led to one of the readers to give his experience. He said that had 2 twins, you know how naught some twins could behave sometimes. They picked up a quarrel as they were fight on of them got a phone which the father bought for K5 million and threw it to an opponent, but lucky missed the target and against the wall, and the phone was in

  11. conti……….
pieces but the father never went to the extent of mistreating his own children. Supposing this happened to this cilemba man, things could have been worse. He was even going stub his child for distroying the phone.

  12. This makes sad reading. The other week, a young man killed his nephew because fish there was no fish for him to finish his meal. Surely, how do you whip your son because he has eaten a pot of beans alone? Is the beans more important than your son?

  13. Shame, ku luwingu ku mwesu sure, ba Chipalo twafweni. Cumm’on now, there is too much beans in our village for someone to kill another over, even worse a child.

    1. This beans must have been not enuf for the whole family

    2. The child must have been really hungry for him to eat it all

    3. This is first degree murder…he must be jailed, surely he saw that he hoit the child enuf but didnt stop.. Cruel !d!ot!

  14. This Bwalya could even be a lazy chap. Beans is so easy to grow, and generally cheap. He could be a lazy drunkard kind that dont provide for their families. He’s a disgrace. Besides a 6 yr old is only a child. I have a 6 yr old daughter and you can see that at that age, these people are really young and innocent.

And for the child to be that hungry implies this Bwalya chap was not feeding the family properly.

  15. This and other documented incidents just go to show the alarming levels of poverty our people face. Its indeed very sad and disheartening. peoplen are reduced to the level of animal because of hungry stomach’s. Its the responsibility of govt.

  16. As much as I love beans, I will never look at a plate of beans in the same light ever again. Were the beans worth a young boys life? Bushe insala ili ku Zambia yashani?

  17. #4 Mushota, You are a very sarcastic individual. In all your blogs you always want to give the impression that you live in comfort and luxury. The truth is that you enjoy living in dreamland and in fantasy.

  18. Ka Mushota ne chisungu tawaishiba!!! ati “me and my Irish boyfriend”, what kind of English is that u racist? U say ” my boyfriend and I”

  19. Sad…its all because me…i spilled the beans. How i wish i could visit some of the LT blogger they sound to be very rich people….but some of you we meet every day, you are very poor…kutiwaseka.

  20. Mushota #4, you think having chiken or beef for lunch is the best, you people working in the UK think you are better than us pa Zed, most of you just wash dishes, wipe old people’s Asses etc.

  21. Mushota – grow up. So you have an Irish boyfriend, does that make you any better. If you knew anything about Irish history you would understand that it’s poverty that caused them to migrate en- masse from 1840 onwards because of poverty and famine. Beans are actually very nutritious and can be served at any meal. Take pride in yourself and your roots. how does your irish boyfriend like running his fingers through that synthetic hair of yours?

  22. Shame on Bwalya…..he is such a coward.
Why run away? he could have informed the police to beat him to death. I hope justice will prevail. Honestly if you are not capable of taking care of a family why have one?? Its better to be Gay or remain single for life than having Kids that you will end up killing becoz of beans. Despite suffering so much pain, the child is better on the other side. May he rest in peace. As for Bwalya I hope the authorities find him and let him face the law.

  23. Did mushota grow up in zambia?if one grew up in zambia, surely one is bound to know what is served with our staple food.I dont like urging with hoaxes and so i conclude she doesnt exist.

  24. #43 yaa you are right there are many G*y pipo that have adopted kids but the only difference is that they are able to take good care of them. You will never hear that they have killed their kids over beans.

  25. shame that hungry citizens are killing their own family members over food, while fat cows are sent out of the country as gifts for the already rich foreigners..

Mushota you must hate yourself and the woman who gave birth to you as a black person, That Irish must feel very superior cuz he’s proud of his race unlike you how wishes you were born pink like inkumba. Mushota the name comes from the lala’s, dont think they would be happy to know that you despise their race, your race, unless you prefer to be called kolwe..

  26. This Mushota reminds me of a South African white person who has now become a good friend of mine who blogged using a famous African tribal group, as her name. I made comments to very vile remarks she used to make, such as Africans are rapists and lots more. But this person now knows different and cant wait to go back permanently after being back on holiday several times. She had frustrations and those blinkered her thinking. This Mushota is not the only person if she exists who is in mixed relationships, some of us are educated, in professional jobs and have well educated daughters carrying Zambian names and grown up here who date other Africans. I feel sorry for this racist who has no respect for herself and has to pretend to be someone else. Respect has to start from oneself.

  27. I have tried as much as possible to avoid making comments on this Mushota. Is she real? Does she care about her parents? How many Zambians does she know? Where in the UK does she live? What kind of education does she have? more important what life education, has she got and I am not talking about academic qualifications but life skills, wisdom? There are lots of Zambians who are not wiping bums, doing cleaning jobs not that there is anything demeaning about that. We need to respect the work ethic and the research, the management and the science and technology that goes for sucess, you need this combination. If you were real I would advise you to explore a bit more about Zambians and you will know. Just be open minded, as racist as you might be, you will know real and wonderful people.

  28. Mushota you are showing serious levels of ignorance and low selff esteem…consider going on a trip to your roots to rediscover yourself.

  29. So sad, it all points to hunger in our country, what with Rupiah’s uninspiring Leadership. Hey, Mushota respectifully leave our blog or we shall adjust our artillery soon, you’re sick!

  30. Mushota, you acting suprised that beans can be eaten at lunch time, as if you never used to eat beans daily as your main relish. Point of correction the type of beans you are refering to are “Baked Beans” – which can be eaten any time of the day – just shows how ignorant you are, your ka ma Irish Boyfriend taught you how to have baked beans for breakfast and you now think that its the only time you can have baked beans, even in Zambia baked beans is served for breakfast. Please be sympathetic here, a child has been killed and you go talking about when beans should be served, are you serious???

  31. Shame for the little boy MHSRIP…His father should have been stopped in his tracks by the mother or something. Ni njala yonse iyi.. Now that Mushota person has cracked me up. Ati “me and my Irish bf we eat that for breakfast ” Ka inferiority complex. Its so sad for you my dear, that you would come here and parade your level of ignorance like this, Since he taught you how to eat beans for breakfast, ask him to teach you some English grammer.

  32. The govt must work hard to see that every one can manage to have food to eat;; such are the things the govt should learn from. here in the uk every one can manage to eat as much as he wants . in Zambia it is only politicians who can manage food how heartless our govt can be

  33. Kweena insala yachila, this is really sad reading! I hope ba Bwalya babekate bwangu because we cannot tolerate such kind of behavior at all.I know such cases are quiet common from Kawammbwa and the surrounding place but kulu liwingu ichichena chachilawe. Let that man face the wrath of the law. Please parents you need to protect them and feed them not punish them in that manner. What has this man gained after all?

  34. It grieves my heart that that child died thinking that he was wrong to eat food and had made his father angry. It grieves me to think that that child may have died thinking he was wrong. What a terrible way to die, what a terrible reason to die for….may his soul rest in peace.

  35. Kwena nangu nisala…killing your own child. When i was growing our parents used to tell us that children are like angels…meaning they don’t usually know what they do…what a painful death… the man will be haunted for the rest of his days…rest in peace my child.

  36. RIP baby boy. Mr. Bwalya please turn yourself in. I believe you did not mean to kill your son. It happened now it’s time to repay.

#4 Chi Mushota, you need to grow up( ignorant %#^$^*#@) . We know you come from a very power background were beans was a delicacy in your household.
We people are all alike; the skin is the only thing that makes us look different.

  37. @ Mushota……i wonder what kind of background u have……u think living in Europe is heaven on earth!! I have bin married for 28 years to a white guy, and live in Europe for 25 years i dont brug…I think u have an inferiority complex about yourself, your country and u being a black girl….poor girl!!
