Fans warned against throwing stones if Zambia loses

Share

The Zambia Voluntary Soccer Fans Association (ZAVSAFA) has appealed to soccer lovers in the country to desist from throwing stones when Zambia loses.

ZAVOSAFA president, Peter Makembo, says the vice is barbaric and has no room in modern society.

Makembo said Zambia is known to be a true champion and haven of peace and wondered where the practice is coming from.

He was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today at Embassy Park where President Levy Mwanawasa is buried.

Makembo, in accompany with otgher association members, today laid wreaths on the tomb of Dr. Mwanawasa.

He disclosed that he will have an audience with the Inspector General of Police, Emphriam Mateyo, on how best to protect the ordinary soccer spectators.

Makembo’s observation follows the behaviour of soccer fans pouncing on stones in protest against due loses for mother Zambia.

Zambia meets Togo on September 10 at world qualifier. The match will be played at Chililabombwe stadium on the Copperbelt.

President Levy Mwanawasa died at Percy Military Hospital in Paris, France, on August 19. He was burred on September 3 at Embassy Park in Lusaka.

  1. GOOD ADVICE BUT THEIR WON’T BE ANY STONE THROWING BCOZ WE ARE RIPPING TOGO TO PIECES. BA ZAMBIA NALELO MWA WINA CHIPOLOPOLO BA ZAMBIA IYE BA ZAMBIA CHIPOLOPOLO

  2. It won´t be easy but the players themselves might even make it harder, including Herve.Looking forward if that body can actualy carry Mbesuma through and get him a first place in the starting line up in South Africa at his club.Otherwise my hopes are so high on this game for a win is a must.Lets wait and see

  3. Lsk Times guess you have lost it with this flag issue you got on your page. You can use some maps if it is so hard to get them right flags.

  4. #9 Ras Rated, whats the difference between Finland and Ukraine anyway? And am not saying where I am is better than Zed no no not at all. Why throw stones at LT?

  5. The problem with this game is that we are under pressure, and seen from the last games in Chilis, I for one is worried though of course worried, I am worried bacause some of our key players have not been playing at their respective clubs e.g. Katongo Felix, Kalaba, Chamanga (clubless), Kampamba (clubless). I am just hoping for the best

  8. “The Zambia Voluntary Soccer Fans Association (ZAVSAFA) has appealed to soccer lovers in the country to desist from throwing stones when Zambia loses.”

From this statement, does it mean we are heading for a loss? Help me understand the English

  9. South Africa got hammered at their own back yard so Zed shouldn´t take the game so easy.Hard work pays off.Over heard their coach(SA) that he is still experimenting with the team.Something i think shouldn´t even cross Herve´s mind as thisis a do or die game.Funny that even wit all the cash and infastruture in SA,they won´t be around for the up comming Afcon games in Angola.Wis you all the best chipolopolo and i know you can make it

  10. #16 your observation is called for. The statement is prejudiced because of the word “when”, which pre-supposes that Zambia will actually loose. The headline contains the right word “if”, which is a conditional term.

  11. At long ladies and gentlemen, I’ve broken my virginity. I’ve made love to a woman just a day after 6th of september 2008 which was my 25th birthday

  12. “When” not “if” Ba LT please explain what you mean. Are you saying we are loosing. Please lets support our country.

  13. #22 Please learn to adhere to the topic. You are now posting comments about Virginity. So what if you lost it.Are you the first one?

Zambia is a let down. Its better they play badly and scores. football is about scoring. Playing well and no scores has now become our daily bread. Shaaaaa! Good luck on wensday if at all they will find a net.Limbi pa goal bapongoshi

  14. Iwe ka #22, so what if Jezebel seduced you? It’s football we’re discussing here. People like you better stay away from copulation, you’re too excited. How long did it last? 20 seconds?

  15. Whats wrong with #22? Lesa fye umwine akatwafwisha tumushilefye umwine. Go Go Go Zambia lets Go. Ba LT mulempela flag ya wrong. whats wrong zebiege?

  16. But Ba Pastor,I thought you being a soccer fan you are likely a soldier at heart. How do you start talking of ZAMBIA losing in this game? Now i have started doubting you bwana. If it happens the way you are perceiving then i personally know who i am going to throw my stones at after the match. You were suppose to encourage for prayers for the team.Anyway come Adebayor or not we will beat them.I have based this from the way we played them in their country. They were just lucky.THE GAME IS OURS.

  17. The advise is good and we shall go for a win with no stones been thrown. However,Peter Makembo should understand that sports in all forms needs money for it to be administered properly and for good results you need investment. So his call for this game to have free entry is NOT welcome. Think beyond today and luk to the future.
