Share

Government has  welcomed Oasis Forum’s plans to launch the Red Ribbon campaign to ensure that a Constituent Assembly is used as a mode of adopting the republican constitution.

Speaking to journalists today , Chief Government spokesman Mike Mulongoti said
government welcomes any efforts by organisations and individuals to contribute to
the ongoing constitution making process.

Mr Mulongoti, who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, said the
debate on the mode  of adopting the constitution should be non partisan but a
national issue.

“We welcome the Oasis Forum’s plans to introduce the red ribbon campaign for the
adoption of the Constitution through the Constituent Assembly, ” said the minister.

“We are for a win-win situation. As government we advise people to learn to give and
take, ” said Mr Mulongoti.

  1. Never underestimate the power of the people, your friend FTJ was defeated through public participation on his desire to implant third term on Zambians,LPM is going to get a similar shock especially that he is not voting during the referendum(excersing his democratic right the wrong way). All the best of luck to the noble citizens of the great republic.Let us install a constitution that will stand the test of time -generations to generations.Alluta continua

  2. Titus, this is the way to go but it should not have taken people to exchange words over something that was straight forward.I dont understand the thinking of certain individuals in our land. Some people enjoy causing friction, the bitter exchange of words between LPM and the chairman of Oasis forum recently was one such bad development.Leadership must be a service not a job.
Titus enjoy the evening?Which part of the world are you in?

  3. Huhu, Look at this one Kuku stop discuss private issue here. You see to be kachepa. Talk about issues partaining to the topic above by doing so you will be contributing meaningfully.
A new constitution is a must and wise leader will listen to the will of the people governing is not alone or just for a gruop of people. Democracy means compromise and give in and being tolarent to each. Democracy is all about the majority rule not only among members of parliament but the people at large.
CSO conduct the censors quickly so that we can close this chapter soon. The givt has to provide funds for workers to speed up the collection of data. Interesting we can ICT.Those who have access to Internet can vote thru the Internet. By doing so we can cut expenses. We just need to go Sha´ngombo. This can done like the way we go for voting in one day.

  4. Kuku, you must have sensed that I do not consider talking about where Im or what Im eating. Lets talk about zambia and if you want to meet me, i will be in zambia, drinking pa kabala in kitwe at the end of this month. But before that i will be in Germany to see my professor. I forgot most of my civics and as u can see, i talk lil on grz set up. U once said i was in america, that was not correct. I simply speak slang with most of my young hustlers. How old are you?

  5. zebigge kuku, i will pass you my email add so we can talk about personal staff. Sorry to the brousers for taking your space here.

  6. Kuku,
Welcome back. I was reading across the sentences to note whether you are the one and not those silly imposters. I am posting from the plane. I am on my way to Lepzig and thereafter Berlin in German. I will be getting in touch soon for further analysis of the topic. Keep on posting your good ideas. The situation has changed since you started posting your real contributions. Fake chaps like UK-boy and the rest have disappered. Our good analyst Ms. Daka had also disappeared but due to your coming back she has also resurfaced. Ba Joze, man of the people was there for all of us. Titus, Sadist and Easy tried to do their best so did Chipatankwa. Of course Tonga Bull tried as well but with limited analysis. Sorry my young man Tonga-Bull. It appears I am on your neck. Jean Sisi the Shushushu from Anti Corruption Commission was also there trying to monitor us but to no avail. I wish to once more well come back all of you. Let us start afresh.
    Nkhataboy the Real Zambian.

  7. Most of you guys who are talking about the constitution either dont know how to pronounce the word or have not yet read one.

It seems the waring parties on both sides claim to represent the people. So let us have a referendum on the this issue and see who represents the majority of the people!!!

  8. well done civil society youare really working now.
y didnt you adopt a different colour for the ribbon though. pipo may confuse it with hiv/ aids campaign and draw apathy towards the spirit of our intention.

where are the patent practitioners who were supposed to be advising on this.

let us ensure that whatever symbol we use derives inclusiveness, participation and ownership.

  9. #12 Born Rich and #13 Paprika, you are good foes. Your contributions have been overwhelming and very educating. Please continue with your good works. You show a sense of maturity. Not that silly UK-boy.
    Nkhataboy

  10. mala – msana wandalama, you are equally good to be a blog master. I enjoy your arguments because you are able to hammer any one of us. Good young man. Continue with your spirit.

  11. It is good that the oasis forum has once again come on the scene to speak and save the voiceless Zambians like the did to FTJ during if third term debate.

Please fellow Zambians, let us rally behind the oasis forum and make sure that our constitution is adopted through the C.A

  12. To me the Oasis Forum is an opposition Political Party! say whatever you want to say. When the CRC was iniated the Oasis Forum condemned it and told people not to summit to it at all cost , this actually was in line with the UPND and the PF. Now that the Mungomba Commission has given a green light to a Constituent Assembly the same Oasis forum is backing it and saying we go for a refr…

whereas they have every right to direct people they are not honest in their dealings.

  13. #11, Nkhataboy mwaice wandi you are still adding more CO2 in the air.At the G8 that was our main topic.Reduce your flights and yawning, be like me who cycle sometimes.Hey and Sadists I will just pray for you I have no words for you especially that the moon is becoming bigger. But my concern is on Sadist, what medicine are you taking for schzoprenia?Bajoze where is Dr Maswahu, this youngman sadist needs intensive chainama care,he is a good candidate for rehabilitation, when the moon disappears he contributes worth stuff but when it starts coming out he is just like LPM.Mwaice Sadist its not your fault,I understand.Nkhataboy Am not available begining this week for a month

  14. #17 Oasis Forum is not a opposition party, but it is a voice for the voiceless pipo and its acts based on what voiceless pipo want. There are so many issues in the present consitution that needs to be tackled. I have in mind the clause ‘Kumulu ni Lesa panshi Kaunda’, and the abortion issue and many more issues. For me these 2 needs to be abolished.

  15. #18 kuku, I missed you by a second. Before you go on recess can you please ensure that we fight over one topic like the other time when you went to bed at 2.30am? I am waiting for your response. Please confirm.

  16. Iwe AM what do mean not opposition if you are not for something that means you are opposing it. LPM wanted no CA Oasis forum opposed him. Its not a political opposition party its a an opposition entity anyway. Zambia needs a new constitution becuase the current one is outdated. I remember the chairman of NSCZ one time saying on the sport charter there is clause like a UNIP member should sit on panel. Made in 1979. Baushi Panji you made him what he was because of your slogans ati Long live KK wamuyaya. During voting you were voting NO for no change. About abortion what do you want you have not mentioned anything. Abolishing no abortion or abortion for all young ladies. Which is which? Nkataboy stop polluting the air I thought that is why you went to G8 to manners on how to pit out CO2 the turn yourself in tree and start producing Oxygen, then you can stay in one station.

  17. #12 born rich, iwe mwaice do you know how to pronounce “Czechoslovakia”?be real mwaice.
#22 youngman you must go back to grade one and finish chapter one of donga na sundu. AM doesnt like abortion just like me.

Ala chuchu yamumbembele nokuselela nomba kuli CA iyo akene. kabili alipele indalama chikombola umwina mafucane to start advocating ati constitution ibe adopted mu parliament where they could have beat the oppositions by not reaching 2/3 te? power to the pipo not power to chuchu boys like sadist, easy (easy going by wind..what an ID)pano naka hey.

#17, tata mwafuma kwisa? mwati namusamba pamenso mwa? wape out amanongo ayo aya-yellow mumenso.ala oasis is there to speak for the voiceless pipo whom chuchu is oppressing, suppressing, suffocating under his armpit te? then mwaice be sensible.

#21, Nkataboy welcome back. naleti nalimo waya mukusoma cross polllination ya nyange te? anyway we missed you.

  18. #22 Ba Easy its the pipo who wanted and proposed CA through Oasis Forum and ur Chuchu is the one was opposing it not the other round. As for the abortion I believe Ba Jose has aleady answered u want we the voiceless want, Abash abortion.

  19. Ati Ba ftj nibakawalala. Kaboks!!!! How does a man of his height buy clothing worth over $1.million? I mean that didn’t make him any taller.

Please repossess all assets from he that stole from the poor nation of ours.

  20. Ati Ba ftj nibakawalala. Kaboks!!!! How does a man of his height buy clothing worth over $1.5million? I mean that didn’t make him any taller.

Please repossess all assets from he that stole from the poor nation of ours.

  21. iwe lumpa kwatako respect kuli ba FTJ.are you the remnant wakwa ALICE LESHINA te? that’s sect chinyamata joint reputable churches like catholic, church of God, Seventh’s day, Anglican,Watch-tower etc. mwaice grow up plz. we need mwana zed uwa respect.

  22. This Red ribbon nonsense is nothing but dreams of job seeking trolls locked in self deceit of survival. Zambia has 12 million plus people from whom eligible voters must cast their vote for or against the CA.They should freely go campaign instead of rhetoric and baseless threats on the Government.

No Government in the World has run on the dictates and threats of mandateless trolling legions. If that were the case, Bush and the GOP wouldn’t be finishing their second term at the rantings of the like of Michael Moore or the protesting mother the Democrats used for years until she has been made miserable to resign. Rferendum is the only way legible Zambian voters across the Country from Kaputa to Zimba, Chama to Shang’ombo will make the accepted 50% yes margin. Its not the mandateless Post and their conspirators Oasis forum trolls to dictate the way forward.

Like million other sober Zambians, I don’t belong to the oasis forum neither have forfeited my right to vote in this referendum.

  23. For years the post has been condoned as a subversive instrument under the umbrela of Democracy the MMD brought and cherish. In the name of untraditional pathetic criticism they have belabored to insult leaders and engineer hate in conspiracies of bringing the MMD down without reprisal from the Government support base even it is very easy to do so.

But their conspiracies has all been in vain over 16 years against our peace and unity. Their marriage of convenience in conspiracy with the self imposed people’s mouth piece the Oasis forum is bound to boomerang.Zambians are too smart to be used in battles they don’t cherish.

These job seeking conspirators must prepare to accept the people’s verdict in the referendum. Government will do the needful across the country and stand ready to accept the results. That is what representative democracy is all about. Any twist and turn they will deceive themselves of taking after, Government prove them the no nonsense leadership in the best interest.

  24. Ba paparazzi, kwena napapa ichyo Princes Dianna afwilile kumulandu wenu pantu mwalemukonka sana. Sad that u can say that the red ribbon is nonsense when alot of people have been opressed by the so called govt institution not only by the President. Look at how people are manhandled at soccer games, Look at how Mulongoti is yapping and Other ministers? What qualifications do those Ministers have to understand the Constitution better than Learned Zambians. We don’t need blind followers like those in Parliament who cannot understand issues but to oppose or propose just because they are from different Political parties. Group think should be eliminated and people should make independent decision and decide for the betterment of mother Zambia. We LOve Zambia and We need our children to grow in a society where they can enjoy. Look at Zim and Uganda. Peace is not the absence of war but having all the needs, education, food and shelter. God Bless Zambia and all the People. Viva CA and abash NA

On a very serious note without inclination for personal character assasination, you come out to be more parochial than upright in your trend of thoughts and causes.Look at the cited waffle from your rebuttal.Who doesn’t know that that MMD has had the most learned team members in its consecutive cabinets. Do an audit and learn their education. Mulongoti to execuse your ignorance is a product of the constitutional law class. All those in strategic portfolios are learned patriots with proven track records. The constition has nothing to do with violence at match places or your failure to wisely invest in your futu

  26. Paparezi I have a strong feeling that you are MMD cadre
Throughout your contributions on this blog you are always against those with genuine points.Sata and Mpombo issue, you are so against Sata because is opposition to MMD.Sometimes confusing yourself in the flow of your contribution.I’m not trying to hard on you but to be mindful.Secondly if the govt loses is Levy going to resign and bear the costs? The ans is yes and it is a hourable thing to do.

  28. That is lack of political awareness on your side. In the first place is it criminal under penal code to be MMD in Zambia? Secondly elections are win lose games. Prepare to
mashall 50% for the vote to endorse the CA out of the eligible Zambian voters. I Challenge you Oasis forum has no people mandate across the the Zambian terrain. When Zambians across territories make their verdict on a cumulative vote, that will be the way to go. Show me a constitutional close that say Government must be subservient to the whims of emerged one man job seeking trolling forum. Can you give me the cumulative membership of oasis forum better than what Government knows including all dreamers hallucinating physical locations.

Look, not every Zambian has forfeited his right to vote to a confused legion under disguise of NGOS.Also learn from Americans, Did Bush resign on the ascendancy of Democrats in the just ended elections? What constitution clause you will use to make the President resign?

  29. Show me constitutionally how Levy need to resign should a miracle of losing the referendum manifest? Be advised to accept the verdict of all the 50% legible voters across the country. Also it is constitution for Government to sensitise Zambians across the country on what they need to know. Its no mandate of those Oasis forum trolls to dictate on Government. GRZ is not their satellite board but Zambians. Tell me How many people submitted to the Willa Mung’ombo commission to carry the overall national mandate of all legible voters from boarder to boarder of Zambia.

I am keen to know how you will be progressing in your dreams of removing the constitutionally elected Government should a miracle manifest. Unless you thinking of getting fantasied into voluntary martyrdom against patriotic Zambians majority, i find you to be another crewless trolls waiting for time to emotionally injure you.

Good lack in all your dreams.

  30. Paparazi, it looks as if you are not understanding the problem many Zambians are facing.Peoples rights have been tempered with and u are proved guilty even when you have not even been charged. We are not there because we want to be here but because we could not do what we wanted to do in Zambia.I always wanted to pursue my Phd and if the govt was serious more Universities would have been built by now. Be objective in your contribution and look at it from both angles. I know alot of those people in MMD do not understand what the constitution say but only supports what their master says. This was my point and hope this makes sense to you. Mind you i am coming for the referendum because i want to be part of the change process. Ba Jose tulubuleniko

  31. Twafweni, USA
You have disgracefully failed to answer any of my questions in post # 35 & 36 i responded to your own issues raised in rhetoric.MMD understands constitutional law better than most of you chaps blindly following pseudo job seekers under so called NGOs.Do a statistical survey on comparative basis, MMD will prove you having more learned lawyers and technocrats more than any party in Zambia.

Most of them studied in western countries young and old. Your self exile in the Diaspora is no Government issue but choice. I am a PHD candidate myself in urban planning with a Masters in PA yet i have no intention of settling in the Diaspora.
I have met many Zambians of patriotic spirit in different high level academic disciplines returning home upon Graduation.Such Zambians are making it on return at home better than most of you in self exile. You don’t have to be MMD to make it. Chibamba Kanyama, Nseluka, Chipimo, Punabantu, Tembo are some of the many returning Graduates making it.

  32. It can never be said better than Dr.Katele’s wise advise here;

Dr Kalumba said although civil society had a significant role to play in the constitution review process, political parties could not be driven by civil society.

He said political parties were the only vehicles through which major public policy matters could be harmonised.

Dr. Kalumba Katele “Individual non-governmental organisations are interest groups.

They have the right to express themselves, but it is the responsibility of political parties to harmonise public policy matters,” he said.

He said some party leaders who felt moved by the excitement of interest groups would come back to the process that Zambians gave themselves through the ZCID.
    “They went and listened.

Now let them come back and provide leadership, because some of the civil society organisations know what is at stake.

Zambia does not need extreme political positions; there is no need to create extreme positions on the constitution,” Dr Kalumba said.

  33. Someone tell me what and where is the mandate of Oasis forum in national issues? Who carries their membership in proportion representation to decide for Zambians? Out of the 12 million Zambians and 5 million plus legible voters, how many submitted to the Mung’omba Commission the same oasis forum rejected to submit to?

I am no member of this forum and have no plans to forfeit my voting rights. I voted a Government in to protect my rights, interest and constitution matters never fellow interest Groups. Can a troll from the Oasis forum answer my questions please!

If all Governments turned subservient to every jim and jack masquerading that shows up as an interest Group, would Governments be functioning?

Even me could mobilize my fellow class mates and call ourself a forum with similar weird dreams. Do you expect Government to dance to every troll’s rants?

  34. it just show how inmature you are paparazi.Maybe you think pipo abroad are in exile in your weird dreams or hallucination. I personally I have done much where Im but I still do things in Zambia. You are just so pathetic and inmature.Do think you know every thing. It is same pipo like you who have destroyed the will and asperations of the majority Zambians because you live i fantasy world. When I asked about if your worshiped mentaly ill president will he resign if he loses? Yes if it is in a civilised society but in your coock land -it’s no.Paparazi meet alot of well educated pipo outside Zambia and listern to what they say and do within Zambia. We have never refused to commit ourselves to our country. If I have to come to zed with my PHD in pharmacy and my wife who is a consultant (Dr) in neurology you are the same pipo who will feel threatened and frustrate us.Your govt is a govt runned by mad pipo who can’t listern at all.

  35. Twafweni , Paparazi is mentally ill. He suffers from boardline personality disorder and paranoid Schizophrenia. His arguements are too personal and politically motivated. He can’t see that the wind is blowing for the change No matter what the government will do pipo are more powerful than the govt.Paparazi is kamucheka OR matwimatwi (OP)enjoying the abuse of power. Time will catch up with him.

  36. Mbozi # 41 & 42,
Pathetically you have failed to articulate anything in response to my question in # 40. Look how you have gone into convulsion hallucinating insults and accusations typical mentally challenged failures. You should learn to rebuttal those on the opposite side of the game you blindly join. Calling me Kamucheka and the like does not bother me because those are truth patriots that have keep nations together. Tell me a nation without those patriots. Its a honor to be saluted with such a national duty. I wish you could connect me to be enlisted in their ranks. Is it a crime to be one? On your threat that i will see it, time will prove who will take it. On your PHD ranting, Zambia has many PHD holders that you are no first or last. I told you am equally a PHD candidate in Urban Planning with 2 semesters shy. come 2008. i will be home contributing to development rather than living you cursed to fantasy and illusions. Zambians have nothing to with trolling trolls like you.

  37. Hey Paparazzi, I am pursuing a Phd in Law and am returning home this December upon the defence of my paper. I am happy that you are also an intellectual who is part of the group think. The questions do not make sense because they don’t not touch the issues that are affecting the masses. Let us look at the issues at hand and why is the Govt so sceptical to give the people what they want? Why the referendum when we have spoken and mind you i am not exile. I have participated fully in the countries developments and i have a big company back home and i have given the Zambians the best that i can give and most of my workers are pursuing further studies as part of the incentives. I am proud of that. Hope we can meet and chat when i come for the referendum. Let us debate the issue and those people u mentioned were on scholarship from the British council and other organizations and are required to return upon finishing. I remember meeting Chibamba Kanyama London when he was doing his MBA.

  38. I just compared the number of bloggers on this paper and I discovered the constitution issue is of less importance to many looking at the contribution. Zimbabwe crisis tops the list, second ftjs hous seize. But now gentlmen which way the constitution change affect us all why not contribute some stuff here which can make debate live and interesting. Use this fora to exachange ideas which can bring development, peace, educative and learn from each other. We need all people in Zambia having a PHD alone doesnt help you alone think of that person too cleaning your office and toilet that he also needs food on the table. Education is just one easy means to earn a living. Most farmers have no PhDs but they contribute to the nation by providing food.My learned friends lets have respect for human life. The CSo should speed up the collection of data so that we can move on.

  39. Ba Joze mwacita bwino ukukalipila Lumpa because we need umwana Zed wamucinshi kuli bakateka ba FTJ. Ba FTJ was misled by Chripin Mushota, Bevin Ndovi, and all those pipo like Chungu na Stella Chibanda. Inga ba chuchu some months ago balituma shushu to withdraw K4 Billion from Finance Bank, on his defence chuchu said that was money meant for MMD. But how did chuchu deposit MMD money in his personal account at Finance Bank? cimo nefi ba FTJ bacitile deposit personal money into Zamtrop account. So, na chuchu nikabolala and should be arrested. Sage citapo comment na iwe.
