The Zambia national soccer team resumes training camp tomorrow after taking the weekend off.

Five players are expected to join the team on Monday in Lusaka on what is expected to be the teams final training camp at home.

Zambia heads to Spain at the weekend where they will play a training game against an Andalusia regional team on December 27 in Jerez.

Meanwhile the players expected to join camp are the Zesco United trio of midfielder Rainford Kalaba plus defenders William Chinyama and Roger Kamwandi after they took part in yesterday Mosi Cup final loss to Red Arrows.

Team manager Solly Pandor said today that he was also expecting striker Christopher Katongo of Brondby in Denmark to join the team after he attended to a business commitment in South Africa last week.

Pandor said he was also expecting defender Elijah Tana of El Merriekh to join the team by late Monday afternoon.

  1. i would like to request the technical bench to take a closer look at chamanga,he has netted another goal this weekend against amazulu.it was a good quality goal and such prowess is what we need in ghana.plz mr phiri monitor the boy closely

  2. Yes I am one person who has always supported Chamanga is good and bad. When he was at national Assembly, Zanaco tried to poach him, but one of the club officials said “lay your hands off the boy, he is not for the zambian market, we plan to sell him abroad, he is another Mbesuma. 10 goals so far and if he can be consistent, he will no doubt be the top goal scorer in the PSL and may end up in Europe next year, no doubt about it. MR patrick Phiri, the coach of the Mighty chipolopolo national

  3. Please please *1000 include the boy and drop the likes of Adubelo or Felixes(Nsunzu or Katongo or Mudenda). Chamanga is so far the fastest striker in our National squad and in PSL. We are likely to have another Zambian top goal scorer in the PSL in three years after Mbesuma and Katongo.

  4. I agree with Jeff & GB,Chamanga deserves a second look. The guy has scored 8 goals in 3 games.I don’t want to compare players but F.Katongo failed to make the mark in S.Africa and Chamanga is hot property in S.A.
Jacob Mulenga had a great game for Strasbourg last night though the drew 0-0 with Nacy.He played 90 minutes he was Strasbourg most dangerous player up front. The English guys doing the commentary kept saying he was giving the defenders a tough time.My Man of the match would have gone

  5. to Jacob(not because hes Zambian) and their Captain Gameiro.Na ikata number umu bozy.Even Strasbourg’s current top scorer from Colombian was substituted in a tough game.Jacob is a hard worker i think the coach likes hes graft and hes first touch was good.He almost won the game at the end but he missed a header.

  6. i do not know how we could let the technical bench know about chamanga especially the coach, perhaps you guys on the block can advise.remenmber chamanga was a threat against tunisia and scored the first goal for zambia before tunisia equalised.kick off update say that after contacting mr phiri,mr phiri is monitoring chamanga but he does not want to commit himself to who would be going to ghana.lets hope it is true

  7. Gents

Remember what happened to Peter Kaumba when everybody was crying for inclusion of Clifford and Rianford in the U23 Ivory Coast bound team.We were walloped in no time and the caoch looked foolish coz even the FAZ president, Minister of sports openly condemed the coach. This is going to happen to Patrick and he never caoch our national team again.Mbesuma,Felix,Adubelo have not been impresive and I wonder what criteria he was using in selecting players! We need Chamanga urgently to join the

  8. other players in camp before it is too late.We welcome the idea of including U23/20 in the senior squad but it’s for exposure’s sake.Threfore, we need proven and experienced players at that level.I would prefer Marks Sinyangwe to Bakala because he his faster,he defends and his passes are more accurate.I wonder if at all we monitor these so called pros from Angola and if in any way they have improved as compared to when they were playing local league in Zed.Felix,Bakala and Adubelo out!!!
