Chamanga gets Zambia National team recall

Share

Striker James Chamanga has been added to the Zambia national team provisional squad for next years Africa Cup.

His inclusion comes after the Moroka Swallows striker sudden scoring streak that has seen him scored 8 goals for his South Africa club in three successive competitive matches.

Zambia team manger Solly Pandor confirmed today that Chamanga would be part of Patrick Phiri’s provisional squad.

Chamanga is expected to join Zambia after the South African league takes its winter brake starting on December 23.

Meanwhile, Zambia leaves for Spain on December 25 where it will play the Andalusia regional national team on December 27 in Jerez.

Today the team trained from Nkoloma Stadium without defender Elijah Tana of El Merriekh in Sudan who by press time was still being expected to join camp.

Midfielder Isaac Chansa of Helsingborg in Sweden had his first full day at training today after joining the team on Tuesday.

  1. THUMBs UP pp that is the way forward.you have the descence to listen to the soccer fans and when that is combined with your intelligency and skill it will definately make you tick.i presume you have now picked the best to come out of zambian football recently therefore the ball is in the players themselves to prove their worth in the squad for the final 22.good luck chipolopolo!

  2. It’s good to have Coaches who listen to reason and people.James last three goals have all been classical.I feel this team will go far during the tournament.

  3. Viva lusakatimes! But mostly thanks pp for being a reasonable coach and listening to the fans. I believe that our chances of doing well just got better! Im watching with enthusiasm to see how this pans out. We need to assemble our strongest squad.so far we are looking better than we started.search deeply, wisely and widely ba PP.

  4. Bravo Patrick Phirs, for listeing to us. Our writing and voices have not been in vain. Egypt and Cameroun will get a shock of their football lives from chipolopolo, which is ready to fire on all cylinders.

  5. At last, the “king of goals” is in the team, and I know he is going to Ghana. I like the goal he scored against Amazulu. That shows a real striker. Viva PP.

  6. Im a bit worried that there is a communication problems with the germany based players i.e moses and andrew. The coach says their phones are on voicemail perhaps a formal request by faz should be sent to the respective clubs so that those clubs know that these players are duty bound for zambia.Any ideas on how to undo this communication saga.

  7. Chamanga was spurred by his exclusion from the Ghana-bound team and I think he will do well because he has learnt that no one is guaranteed a place in the squad.

    Good lauck boys

  8. Well done people for yo effort!!Well done PP for listening to people as you have demostrated to be a true democrat unlike Peter Kaumba!!!Wish you the best.

  9. With strikers like Chamanga Isaac Chansa and Katongo we can reach the final. Its just a matter of management. if you heard what Harry Redknapp (Portsmouth) was saying two days ago a national team coach doesn’t have to be a coach. The players are already coached by their clubs. You just need a good manager or strategist. Of course in Africa its a little bit different but much of what he says is true. Viva Zambia Let Africa sing Chipolopolo iyee!

  10. Cool P.Phiri for including Chamanga in yr team.Hope you won’t be like Kaumba, who does not listen to people.Together with the audience, you can achieve a lot.Go Chipolopolo Boys Go!!!

  11. Hey, fox Zambia has a good team and loaded with great players. They have a better chance making it to second round as well as advancing to next stage. However, every single game is going to be a challenging to every team in their group. Zambia we do better in the Aftican cup of Nations because, they have faith that we lead the to voctories after voctories. And the of fact Zambia have couples high profile players on the squard that most fox forget. The boys we do well and make Zambian proud.

  12. I believe that this the time again for Zambia to fry the Flag high in the sky of Ghana coz this time we are going places with the commitment, dedication, passion and hardwork that i have seen coming from the young talented Zambian side.go!Zambia Go!!we are right behind you.PP you are the Maaaan!!
