President Levy Mwanawasa has said that there is need for the MMD on the Copperbelt to be revamped.
The President, who is in the province to attend the burial of his uncle in Mufulira tomorrow, said on arrival at the Ndola International Airport that he is very disappointed with the disorganisation of the party on the Copperbelt.
President Mwanawasa took a swipe at MMD party officials that were secretly supporting the Patriotic Front to openly do so and resign from the MMD.
“You come in numbers to welcome me at the airport, but you don’t vote for me, don’t think I don’t know what you do at night. I have eyes all over. During the day you are MMD, in the night you are PF. Have morals and do it openly” he said.
The President further said he was very disappointed with the outcome of the results in the Nchanga by-elections in Chingola.
Dr Mwanawasa said he could not accept the margin by which the MMD had lost the Nchanga seat considering the efforts that government was putting in place in the province in ensuring that the mines were revamped.
“If you properly explain to the people the developmental projects that we have embarked on in the province, there is no way we can lose by a margin of 8000 to 2000 votes. I can’t accept that margin,” he said.
He said government had spent a total of K161 billion to pay retrenched workers on the Copperbelt and had revamped the mining sector, which had collapsed by the time the new deal administration was coming into office.
He said if all these projects were properly explained to the people there was no way MMD would lose.
Meanwhile the President said that he had received the petition by the Copperbelt MMD youths and added that it would be considered at the next National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
The MMD youths on the Copperbelt had petitioned their embattled Provincial Chairman Terence Findley.
And speaking earlier, Copperbelt Provincial Minister, Mwansa Mbulakulima thanked the President for his initiative and courage of convening the National Constitution Conference (NCC) despite the unwarranted attacks from some sectors of the public.
Mr Mbulakulima said he was confident that the conference would give people the constitution that they deserve.
Meanwhile, Ndola residents have appealed to government to carry out a sensitisation drive on the benefits of the National Constitution Conference (NCC) as opposed to other alternative constitution making avenues.
The residents that stormed ZANIS offices in Ndola today said the public was not aware of the benefits of the NCC when compared to other avenues because there has been inadequate sensitisation about the NCC.
Simon Moyo, resident, said listening to Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata’s argument on the participation of PF in the NCC on Radio Ichengelo yesterday was an eye opener to most people in the area.
Mr Moyo said if it was true that the purpose of the NCC was to make recommendations to the President at a cost of over K297 billion, then PF president Michael Sata is right to stop his party from participating.
Mr Moyo called on the PF MPs that had registered to rescind their decision and put the interest of the electorates at heart.
“Its not too late, those MPs should just change their minds now and leave that conference because that money should be used for developmental programmes in their various constituencies,” he said
Yes Sata has a point spending K297 billion to just make a recommendation to Mwanawasa is a waste of money. The NCC is not binding and the whole thing will still go to parliament where MMD would either reject or accept it since they have the numbers. Shame LPM, no wonder you are losing ground on the copperbelt
Levy thinks he owns CB like Teka. LPM, develop CB coz that is the mandate the people of Zed entrusted on you. Before LPM was the mines were, its premature for a head of state to think we owe him a vote when its him who owes the people a good living coz that is what ia written in the contract he has as President. Just goes to show how shallow the MMD thinks. By me he is not worthy plot 1. Kwati te lawyer aini!!
“If you properly explain to the people the developmental projects that we have embarked on in the province, there is no way we can lose by a margin of 8000 to 2000 votes. I can’t accept that margin,” he said
Well LPM, this means you would have had zero not 2000 if not for the “development” you have put on C/B.
don’t think I don’t know what you do at night. I have eyes all over. During the day you are MMD, in the night you are PF. Have morals and do it openly” he said.
I have eyes all over.

Sata is an intelligent man. The truth is that NCC will never produce the pipos’ driven constitution at all.Why the major players in the decision making process have refused to take part in NCC? They dont want to be part of Movement for madarax dealers half baked constitution because 2011 so what may if the constitution outcome is not pipos’ expectation, LPM will be in bigger trouble and those pretending to be with him will run the usual political prostitution way to where there is comfort/money
HE Sata go out and explain to pipo why you are going to expel those MPS who have gone against why PF stands for on NCC.Many pipo are behind you and Mps like Dr Chishimba he knows returning Kasama central is like going to swim at Chishimba falls knowing you will not make it, its death. Nothing he has done neither known before PF made him to stand on their ticket.
Balanda ati’kolwe ashilabengwe enda nabufyonoka’ Dr chishimba is finished
What value does Sata ATTACH to an exercise like enacting the constitution ?.If the reason SATAdoesn’t want his party to participate in the constitution is because of money why then did he not Instruct his members to attend on voluntary basis. Besides Sata’s record at constitution making in the past is disastrous, he was the cheif achitect of the clauses only aimed at barring Kaunda from standing .Today he wants to reinvent himself as a Champion on Constitution making, my foot!!!
Ba CITIZEN,
Are you Zambian or you’re “munyukumunyuku?” Bear in mind that, despite our ideological, philosophical, and even political differences, when it comes to the supreme law of the land, these differences should be put aside. If you have listened(not heard) to Chuchu and his minions, is there any justification for such gigantic allowances? These people are smart enough not to dip their figures in the government coffers except to come up with daylight robbery.
Citizen, this NCC is a futility coz one wonders what your boss really wants with the presidency. He constituted the Mung’omba whose findings he finds inimical to his liking and now he comes up with the NCC, whose purpose one wonders. We wanted the CA he complained the gov had no money but how come he has the money for NCC.Look at the issue logically,if u cant we can alwats help with that.LPM is shifting goal posts.Very dishonest leader he is.
If you need more material on the issue Citizen ask me, I will furnish you with all that you need to see the light. Dont be blinded by loyalty. For starters read 2day’s Post editorial. Then come back and blog
# 9 well said.People let us move on & concetrate on the contents of the NCC.4get about thoz that ‘ve boycotted. Its a bitter pill 2 swallow 4 Sata fanatics that he has reached the evenings of his political career but people lets give them tym to heal & to come to terms with it.
Looks like criticism has become a profession pa Zed.Lets move on people
Citizen is heartless, crued and blind follower of the new daylight pludder dealers’ govt.Citizen cant see how dishonest Levy has been no wonder Levy was even defending pipo who made MERIDIAN BANK to go burst the Karadu.Sata is diligent in his political approach than Levy. What things that Levy as done since joining politics that one can match with Sata? Over bridges in lusaka Kafue and kabwe roundabout,Lusaka became the cleanest city,Ministry of Health improved, No smelly wards,Medicine avaluable
This MMD was voted for by villagers who are not conversant with national issues,Pragmatist aka SAGE we need your input on this topic its seems you have run out of campaign materials ..LOL
If Sata was president i’m sure improvement in many sectors would have been seen not on papers. This govt has lost direction and not fit for purpose. No priorities, could someone out there expect K299 billion to be spent on something which the pipo who are suppose to be the custodians are not fully aware of its’ content. In future let the leaders of opposition start attending pariliament/national assembly so that presidents’ question have a sense of direction and meaning.Imagine Sata and HH were in
Contd:parliament and questioning Levy? The debate could expose Movement for madarax dealers and the new plunder dealers govt. Levy is worse than Kaunda and Chiluba.Local companies and banks are almost on their knees.MMD is finished in cities because we know them and they are toothless and brainless lacking sense of direction to inspire the future generation.
Shame on Levy Maureen!
I concur with #15 Calo, that it is entirely because of villagers that MMD is in power. Yet they are the ones to suffer imminently even in the event NCC commencement. Ine nakulalyafe no kunwa ubwa mu town.
Nomba honestly Levy Maureen expects ba shimaini ukuba ba MMD……hahahahaha………abepelefye.
Miners would rather be with Ngondo (APC) that Lefi.
we know you “Bembas” you praise Sata because he is your brother. You should learn to know the advantages and disadvantages of anything.you should appriaciate the efforst made by new deal.
Ba Levy,
Ala muchili mulelusa pa C.B. What is wrong is your leadership. Honestry, how could you be so corrupt to give K46 million to NCC loafers? I can asure you, You will pay for it when you leave office.
Iwe pupil or student#19,why in the first place are you schooling in SA and not in Zed?obviously schools are dilapidated in Zed such that you have also run away,MMD has not brought anything tangible for the Zambian pipo apart from running after chiluba and Xavier Chungu, how much money have we spent on the task force and how many convictions have been made since levy assumed office,Zedians are tired OF lip service coz no one will eat corruption,i wont talk about the Fraud NCC,AMEN!!
#19
You must be very ignorant about issues pa Zed. What is it that Levy has done for zambia, apart from enriching South African economy? You eat, you have a job,but the majorit of our pipo are suffering, such that it cant believe it, it can make you cry. Lets have a heart for the POOR Zambian pipo. ”To hell with NCC day light Plunders”.
#19 Capetown Univ. Student
Uli fontini we mwaume. Its not the efforts that we look for, but complete works.
How can i hail Levy for efforts?
Uletontonkanya before posting.
Bakabwalala in the name of NCC. Ala twafwa!!
Analyst, kwandangala,Muntuza
The issue of the consttution is above Mwanawasa and Sata it is above MMD and PF.When delegates go to deliberate they will do so without any party orientation. We may all have different affiliations and opinions but we are all Zambians. And will have the following issues of interest decent affordable accomodation, availability of decent affordable education, minimum qulifications of MPS, COUCILLORS AND presidential aspirants, decent social security, guarantee of emplo
Which lost glory?To dilapidate the province?Let bye-elections come.VIVA PF!!!
I am sorry and upset with remarks made by SATA on Radio Inchengelo that NCC is the for the president. SATA doesnt love Zambians and Zambia at all. He is misleading the nation too far. Mwanawasa will be not be standing for president in 2011 how damm can one be to be made to believe that NCC is for the MMD. That is being hypocrit and opportunistic. All he wants is to rule Zambia and make history that he was once Zambias president. There is no substance to his uttering.
Sata alala. He is now leaking his wounds.
#8 Ha, ha, ha, KWANDANGALA my hero you’ve really made my day. That lipinda is hilarious. You nailed it.
#19 I’m pretty sure u will be kicked out of that Capetown university coz they sure cant keep borderline defective material like you.
#19 MAKWELEKWELE,Why do you want to drag us into tribal debates again, we have been there before and am sure no one would want to start it all over again, its too soon. Concetrate on your studies my dear, dont worry about your course fees, your father will continue drawing K46 million per month from the NCC for the next twelve or more months.
“Local companies and banks are almost on their knees”…say that again # 17.wat a misleading statement.Your hate 4 Levy shud not blind u 4rm seeing the Devlpmnts that r taking place.Honestly how can a sane person compare LPM to FTJ?
Sata z misleading pipo now that the NCC z 4 Levy,Pliz Mudala give us a break, lets debate contents now than start mourning PF’s demise.MOVE FORWARD PEOPLE MOVE
I see PF never will rule Zambia looking at the rate of propaganda they are making.
was LPM on official business or attending a funeral ??
#25 CITIZEN,
The people have not been selected as individuals. They have been selected because they are MPs. But if any of he parties they represent do not want to be part of the rot, they need to follow the party’s position.
TOP, Kuku, Senior Ci Citizen can you tell us who is Dr.Patrick Matibini. At 48 he must be some to count on. He want to chair the NCC.
#25 CITIZEN
The NCC are not discussing any of the issues you have stated in your second paragraph. Are you sure it is NCC you are refering to?
TOP #34 The president is a public figure. Why do you want to confuse pipo are you becoming political. Do want the president just walk away if he is asked to comment on the out come of the byelection in Chingola. He must say sth whether on a funeral or GRZ duties.
# 34 LPM went for a funeral (on goverment expense)
#37 King David, partly you are right to what Citizen said but the document is there to govern those issues mentioned. We have to strengthen our ministries because they are the ones responsible for the services provision. Sometimes I just feel our efforts are misplaced. We always talk of civil servants forgetting the masses. Job creation should be the job of companies and labour offices. Ministries cannot create employment
Quick question: How long is NCC going to sit for?
# 40,
where is cabinet and parliament in this whole thing?
Its strikes me as rather interesting that comments are being raised of how inappropriate the NCC is formulating at a constitution. Could we have better suggestions as opposed to just condenming what is on the table. Furthermore if 75% PF MP’s are in it for money, does no one in the party have any integrity? So what would be the difference if these same persons were in power, where there is access to more money. Why would one vote for PF? Can Sata be President and minister, I don’t think so.
#43
What are you upto/I do not seem to pick a point from your statement bro!!What is your view as well?
Spending 81 million dollars on NCC is surely a waste of money when we have serious issues in the country to be sorted out!!I never knew that Power/money can confuse LPM to this extent. What a country Zambia!!!
44
That is why he is called HELP (His Exellency Levy Patrick)
b
Chuchu is always attending funerals in copperbelt at govn great expenses, hardly a year passes without Chuchu and his family tree going to a funeral in copperbelt.
#47, Unlike Kafupi who is a fake Zedian and KK who had a migrant family with no roots in Zed. LPM was born, bred, schooled in Zambia. Therefore his Family tree is spread across the country(Not family tree of appointing his relatives..I Abash that fully)
Kafupi’s only noticeable relative was BY who also denied him at 11th hour.
Chuchu how can you be disappointed with the outcome of the results in the Nchanga by-elections in Chingola, when you know very well that in most towns pipo did not vote for you including your next neighbour in Lusaka where you leave, so why are you not accepting the margin by which your party lost in Nchanga.Infact this is not new in CB in 2006 elections you lost by a big margin all CB towns&lusaka. This shows that pipo still dont like you and infact in future you be like to get even 1 vote in CB.
Since Chuchu became presdo of this nation he has acquired a lot of dying relatives, so that he benefits during they funerals (Kalilo bwana).
Since Chuchu became presdo of this nation he has acquired a lot of dying relatives, so that he benefits govn funds during they funerals and at the same time have a change to travel to Teka Farm at govn expense(Kalilo bwana). Another frauduntly way of plundering national resources.
People, my condolences to HELP and his family for the deaths. The death rate in Zambia is high and as Africans we are cultrually enclined to sypathise when someone looses a loved one. Let us not ridicule death and berievemnts that have befallen on our presidents family. But please Levy must not be using govt funds for and appointing his relatives!
There will be many bye-elections in CB soon, this is what prompted Levys statement.
53 Hey,
MMD should just boycott CB bye-elections. It is too too emarrasing for the ruling party to get less than 20%, even after the VP moved his office to Chingola for 2 solid weeks and so did all those govt and MMD officials.
Did Findlay welcome Mwawasana at the airport?
I would like to wish everyone a merry Xmas and all the best for the coming new year lets hope we have better things to write about and that we dont keep going round and round like weve done this year maybe some of our questions will be answerd with good results.Dont drink to much that goes for all the Zeds that like a good drink.
It boggles my mind to hear the Replican President boasting about paying retrechees. I wonder if these retrechees didn’t work for their money. What is he saying about other retirees who haven’t been paid? Zambians, let us open our eyes and see beyond our noses. These allowances are a form of bribes so that this NCC can be legtimized. And about the economy doing well, wait until the conflict in the Near East is over only then will you see the reality. By then Chuchu won’t be in office.
lowly but sure our obsession and blind inclination to tribal allegiance is isolating and eroding our Bemba place in the Zambian Governance system. We’ve been useless and undesirable.Zambia has started progressing without us due to our foolishness. Its evident that the country is holding well without our input. This is clearly a self created dilemma. I foresee a zambia without Bembas’input.
Sampa Kapasamakasa, thank you for realising your foolishness.
eAnalyst ,
It such magnanimity that will redeem our embattled PF. Blind sycophancy seen here has killed our party and i’m ashamed that founders such as Mrs Chitika Mulobeka MP have seen the current leadership as hopeless. The way forward is a holistic change in top leadership.Keeping Sata is like keeping Tilyenji Kaunda on the helm of UNIP. PF is breeding.
Ba Sampa Kapasamakasa,
Don’t compare Sata to Tilyenji. How do compare a sheep to tiger. Tilyenji has no clout anywhere…issue closed. Sata has his own misgivings, but let us thank him for making the MMD government sit up. Imagine if there was no Sata, what would happen in the nation? This government listens more to Sata than to the toothless PF MPs.
eAnalyst,
Where is no Moses, God brings in a Moses for his people. So you mean in the demise of the ailing Sata, politics will be over in Zambia?
Where there is no Moses, God brings in a Joshua for his people. So you mean in the demise of the ailing Sata, politics will be over in Zambia?
Sampa Kapasamakasa,
There are so many Joshuas out there, but they don’t themselves. You might be one of them. Try your luck. A word of caution; don’t go carefully. Don’t be like Prof Chirwa. They might start threatening you with bruises.
Sampa Kapasamakasa, IGNORE (64)

Levy, ever so insecure. He probably has good intentions but is really pathetic at times. What the guys at OP aren’t telling him is that even some of his “closest allies” are two-timers.Post 2011 will mark the beginning of a turbulent period in his life because he has created more enemies than friends in his tenure so far.As for Clive Chirwa, well, he is free to join whatever political party he wishes but he will live to regret the grave mistake of joining MMD.He’s like a virgin in a brothel.
Youngblood ,
You must have been born in a brothel looking at your frequent reference to it in your blogging.
#68 Dear anonymous,it is evident that the use of a figure of speech such as the simile I used in my post is alien to the way you speak or write.I posted my first comments on LT yesterday so I do not know which posts you were looking at when you say “frequent reference”.Please let me know if somebody else had been posting under the same pseudonym before me.You see, the thing is you’ve stepped out of line and I guess I have to set the record straight. What your mother’s been hiding from you all
these years is that she’s a stinking slut, cockaholic whore with semen from a hundred men up her cunt! And you are the mutant that was produced when the semen reacted with the gangrenous blood clots from her uterus.Sorry LT and fellow bloggers.
OMG LANGUAGE YANIYOFYA
I see 70 you are still young plz stop insulting pipo’s parents if you can’nt respect yours dont think that everyone likes to see these bad language you enjoy using on your parent that is if you have parents!
Chiko, refer to #68 you’ll see that I was only being fair. You should have condemned both parties if you were impartial in your rebuke.I was addressing anonymous not “pipo’s” parents.Or maybe you are his brother/sister and that’s why you are touched. From the tone and content of your post,I dont like the “holier than thou” image you’re tring to potray and at the same time being rude as well. That isn’t smart.I had to use expletives to address anonymous so that he should think before posting comments
