Democracy Prevailed-Magande

Share

Finance Minister Ng’andu Magande said democracy prevailed during the exercise to elect an MMD presidential candidate at Mulungushi International  Conference Centre.

Mr.  Magande said even though he was President Mwanawasa’s preferred person to succeed him he had to undergo elections in accordance with the MMD constitution.

The MMD, Friday, picked acting president, Rupiah Banda, as its candidate in the forthcoming president by-election.

Mr. Magande told ZNBC news that he will support Mr. Banda in the presidential by-election scheduled for November this year. Mr. Magande also said the MMD is still united.

And Home Affairs minister, Ronnie Shikapwasha, says he has no ill feelings after failing to win an election held to pick an MMD candidate in the forthcoming presidential by-election.

Lieutenant General Shikapwasha says he will continue working towards strengthening the MMD ahead of the November by- election.

General Shikapwasha has also dismissed claims that there is acrimony in the MMD following the elections. He told ZNBC news in Lusaka, Friday that on the contrary the ruling party is united.

And local government Housing Minister, Sylvia Masebo, said there are no losers and winners in the just ended MMD National Executive Committee elections.

Ms. Masebo said this was because all the participating candidates belong to the same family. Her comments were also echoed by party national secretary  Dr Katele Kalumba  before leading MMD NEC members in laying wreaths on President Mwanawasa’s tomb in Lusaka, Saturday.

Dr Kalumba said there is no animosity in the party following Friday’s NEC elections to pick a Presidential candidate.

He said the MMD has emerged more united as a party after the polls.

Ms Masebo also said  the MMD will now embark on a vigorous country-wide campaign to win the Presidential by-election.

Dr Kalumba further said that he was happy with the manner the MMD conducted elections to pick a presidential candidate.

Dr. Kalumba said the elections were free and fair and were conducted in a peaceful manner.

He also said the MMD allowed new entrants into the party to aspire for the Presidency because it is a democratic party.

Dr. Kalumba says 19 candidates filed for the MMD presidency through the National Executive Committee.

He however said most of the candidates dropped out of the race after failing to raise the 5 million nomination fees.

Some candidates who withdrew from the race are Health Minister, Brian Chituwo, Cain Mweemba and former constitution Review Commission Chairperson, Willa Mungo’mba.

Seven candidates took part in the elections among them Acting President, Rupiah Banda ,Finance Minister, Ngandu Mangade and Home Affairs Minister, Ronnie Shikapwasha.

Others are former Works and Supply Minister, Ludwig Sondashi, Former Vice Presidents, Enock Kavindele and Nevers Mumba.

Dr Kalumba said the MMD is ready for the presidential elections if other parties refuse to forego the poll.

The MMD national secretary, said the party is already gearing itself up for campaigns.

He also says the party is ready to hold consultations with the opposition on how best to hold the elections.

However, the Patriotic Front says it will not entertain any discussions on possibilities of avoiding a Presidential by-election.

PF president, Michael Sata, says his party wants an election to be held in accordance with the constitution.

Mr. Sata told journalists in Lusaka Friday that the PF has not held any discussions with any party or the Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue on the matter.

According to Zambia’s constitution, the country is supposed to hold a presidential by-election 90 days following the death of a sitting president.

Mr Sata said the country should not ignore the constitution as doing so would be setting a bad precedent.

Mr. Sata also demanded that the election date should be announced soon to enable all political players to prepare for the polls.

  1. Preferred or not by LPM that is inconsequenstial this is a democracy. It was not documented that u were preffered not even written in the will. Strategize for 2011 may be.

  2. I’m glad to see that Zambian political parties continue to show a mature level of democracy. Magande has done well to conceed. Maybe he will be selected the next time around.

  3. Magande has in the past exhibited a degree arrogance. However, he has shown his maturity when it matters most. Well done.

  4. I think Magande has exhibited maturity.the last time people in MMD were not picked to be presidential candidates they left and form PF,FDD and so on.He was just unlucky coz the Thievies are more politically acute than he is.I wont vote for RB becoz i do not know what he represents.Ill vote for Magande in 2011

  5. PF,UPND and HP must form an electoral pact and float General Miyanda as the presidential candidate.General Miyanda has an impeccable character and moral fibre to fight corruption and move the country forward. His level of integrity in both personal and public life is there for everyone to see.He is the only political leader to ever retire imprest while he was in govt. The plunderers would never have any negative influence on Miyanda the way they`re all over RB.
SATA has health problems and questionable character while HH has alot to answer about his frivolous involvement in the privatisation exercice.

  6. THE WORRY BANEE NOW IS BANDA MIGHT BRING IN THOSE OLD CORRUPT CHILUBA PEOPLE IN MIMISTERIAL JOBS,THE LIKES OF MABENGA,KATELEZ EVEN XEVIER CHUNGU,HOPE THAT DOESNT HAPPEN

  7. Magande just be open and tell us your motives. If you are worth your salt then why co habit with drugs lords/riggers/plunderes now?Do you think LMP S.C whould have condoned with nonsense at stake

  8. #9 Don’t doubt your words,AKABOKO KAKONKA AKABIYE(They have scratched his back so they expect him to do the versa

  9. Let us not worry about Sata’s health…no one on this earth knows for sure when hey will die. We can plan for anything in life except death..Sata gave the late president a good run for his money, without sata using mineral royalty, the lack of observance of labour laws Mwanawasa wouldn’t have done anything, he spent his last two years implementing PFs manifesto..fellow country men do look back and see what kept mwanawasa awake..Sata!! let us give him a chance…we still have major things to be shaken up in this country..as for RB awe he wont tick, there is too much insubordination in MMD and the thiefs surrounding him leave so much to be desired.

  10. LT please attach a Zambian flag to my comments, I am a Zambian, not a German.
    I was born Zambian
    T think Zambian
    I eat Zambian
    I dress Zambian
    I walk Zambian
    I talk Zambian
    I laugh Zambian
I make love the Zambian way and I still hold a Zambian passport.
    Thank you.

  11. Democracy has triumped over Coronation politics in Zambia.MMD as pioneer of Democracy in Zambia and the region has reverted to its values of people choice.Congrats RB and Bravo brother Peter for your maturity in conceeding.Zambia is Greater than anyone of us.Every success is out of collective effort in harmony. You have a place in MMD.The Greatness of a man is not in how many time you fall but arise.MMD is now embarking on healing and reconciliation for the Common Good.Join us in rendering unwavering support to RB a fellow economist, internationalist and entrepreneur.BRAVO!

  12. You are a true gentleman Magande, accepting defeat. Your economic/financial skills can still best be used at the ministry of Finance since you understand the economy better than most cabinet ministers. Leave the mudslinging and smear campaigns to the politicians who have nothing to lose.

  13. Well done Magande. In 2011, watch out for the Post and Maureen they will ruin your chances again. Sorry better luck next time. RB we are watching your every move now. True guys can Sata, HH and Miyanda get together? I hope they are not dreaming that they will win if they go it alone! Selfish aspirants indeed.

  14. #11 Who told you that Maureen is evil? Good stance Magande. I’ll vote you in 2011. This time I’ll vote for HH. Hey LT ka Zed flag.

  15. oh ho!so the flags are representing the country the comments are coming from! Not sure if this is good idea but LT, you get an A for effort. Thanks for giving us free news!

  16. PF and UPND must learn from MMD and get presidents pass through a legitimate Democratic process other that coronations and power by decree. If you are not transparent, democratic and open to competion in your titular parties or open in little things, you are automatic dangers to statecraft previlege. You remain better as watch dogs than rulers untill democracy finds its way in your parties.Threatening Chishimba with bruises or passing decrees that only a Tonga can cross the Presidential line is a taboo in democracy.Use this period for democratisation and internal change.

  17. Ehh, utuma flagi nomba, walya LT, hope you are not Big Brother watching and recording who is saying what then when I am a Presidential aspirant in 2011, you hold it against me? Good initiative though!

  18. Now that the MMD has past the first test, we must prepare not only for the Nov 2008 by-election but for the 2011 and beyond. In 2011, the MMD will have been in power for 20 years and must show why it should still aspire to lead. And RB must be quick to explain clearly what his vision for Zambia is on the economy, the rule of law and especially fighting graft, nepotism, etc.
Congrats RB.Work has just began. And congrats to Gande for conceeding quick and not wasting time crying over spilt milk.

  19. I do not really care who wins but I am interested in knowing why The Post seem so vehemently opposed to RB. Actually, I guess the question should be why have they shown such overwhelming support for PM?

  20. Stupid people looks foolish when their plan fails.Shame on you Post,Magade, maureen for taking us for granted. The Post make u turn and support HH,SATA now before you lose markert.

  21. Magande needs his job that’s he has to accept defeat. Has nothing to do with principals what so ever. Now though his luck could be runing out THE Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and the Foundation for Democratic Process (Fodep) are after his ass for his involovement with $1.6 – Zambian Airways saga.

  22. Ba PF i hope u’ve learnt sumthin from this. Dont just impose Sata as a Presidential Candidate. Put him under scrutiny from his flock of PF sheep. Let someone challenge his position in the party. Kwaliba party no convention sure! Come on u PF chaps wake up!

  23. I we No. 14 (What is the Zambian way of making love) Since when did we have a modus operandi for making love. Viba Bemba ni vi puba.

  24. Pragmatist, are you teaching us the essentials of winning elections, from the VJ book or memoir, that, literary, the votes for the candidates you’ve mentioned will be spoiled!!!

  25. Mwaiche Pragmatist
I am surprised at your complete U-turn on the morals you were pushing during LPM`s tenure. What`s your comment about the come back these plunderers have made. Can you defend RB`s involvement in syphoning resources from NAMBOARD and corrupt practices in different govt portforlios he served? This is why I`ve always advised you to refrain from acts of bootlicking because you`ll be forced to defend the indefensible.

  26. #22.Its only UPND that has gone for a democratic convention in the recent past.PF has never gone for a convention since inception.MMD used NEC of 57 pipo to a elect a Party Pres. What % of democracy does tht represent?Viva HH.You have my vote & support.

  27. Pa Zed Tavutika. RB is UNIP and the old politics of violence and lack of vision are on the way. Don’t be surprised if Kaunda and Grey Zulu join MMD and become Ministers of diplomatic staff.

  28. Rest in peace my dear.. may the Good lord look after you…even though i never benefited anything from you but am sure there are some Zambians who did hey, my mother died because of luck of medical facilities @zed, which hurts me most th. Zambian economy is the waste so to say. Chiluba did better than u, am Sorry to say the truth but i have the right to speak my feelings off.sorry people i know in Zambia u cant say the truth about the dead, but i believe truth is truth dead or alive.thx aloti hope a better person will be elected not short time thinking..i never in my life wish to get back to zed though i have few nice friends but the country is too corpt and expensive for a poor Africa

  29. Kalala,

Your HH need to get sanitized from the Tongo only for president tag he accepted to be coronized.Zambians are unforgiving to tribal platform in politics.Look at the end and failures of Nkumbula and Kapwepwe. If the two ever ruled from statehouse, HH will rule some day.But if not despite their intelect, ideologies and regional appeal, HH is better reverting back to a crunching numbers. In two years time he will be uselss politically because more emerging youthfull leaders will be offloading themselves on the market.

  30. Lets debate on merit the top 3 and most serious candidates for Presidency we’ve (SATA,RB & HH) if we are to make meaningful progress in this rich country of ours and yet its people are so poor!

  31. Iwe 14, you make love the Zambian way eeeh? Like Dany Pule? I will have to be lectured by ba Pule u know. Probably u can help me with tutorials too # 14.

  32. Commiserations Ba Magande and Ba Masebo. Just because you’ve lost and now you want to keep your ministerial posts you start crawling that there’re no losers. Indeed you’ve lost no doubt about it. And for Magande, your days are numbered, the corruption you’ve started by bailing this so called Zambian Airways a private entity is not only immoral but a breach of trust that Levy had for you. I’m sure if Levy was around to see you interfering in a private firm on monetary terms, alas God forbid. Ask Ba Nevers Mumba what happened at the Airport with their VP status.

  33. Guys lets not be fogetful, guys lets not be myopic this RB guy is a good guy. But where does he belong ? He belongs to the MMD.These guys should not be allowed to continue, otherwise, we shall continue with the flaws that go with the MMD. He is in the wrong political party. Let us try another party.

The MMD is not a party you can trust for now. Look at Katele’s sentiments on the elections.

    Pliz lets open our eyes.

  34. Pragmatist just cant believe that the hour has come for MMD to go.That tribal nonsense is a smoke screen which zambians have refused to entertain.HH is incoming President of Zambia.Get pipo’s opinion on the ground.Prepare yourself to hear HH being sworn in as Republican President come November.

  35. Oh ye LT bloggers please be mindful of the fact that on matter how emotional you write. When push comes to shove the voters out there are the ones who will decide. Ask fred membe and the post they will tell you. They tried to campaign for magande

  36. LT, this flag business is unnecessary, pls let us go back to the anonymous freedoms we had previously? Farewell, no more post 4rm me

  37. Death Monger Chapi # 41,

Are you now blessed that Dr.Mwanawasa has gone across the bridge? Does his departure bring you rivers of blessings, opportunities or actualisation since you lived on insulting, cursing and announcing his death from the day he fell sick? Are you done with your death mongering ID you were often using?I told you that death of H.E would bring you no closer to your dreams. You hoped that he woud die a disgraced man but have you seen the 100s of folds in world aclaim and status God has bestold on his legacy?I pride in him for all unfliching support to the that icon other than your trojan horse of insults Sata.I’m proud i served him and in his honor we retain Plot 1 as MMD

  38. Katele can you drop the nonsense of talks about avoiding the presidential bye election. This is a clear indication that you chaps make laws that you arent willing to follow.Regardless of the amount involved elections have to go ahead as per ZAMBIAN CONSTITUTION.This is a good lesson so that next time we consider the idea of a running mate. The current constitution unfortnately even if the president died eight months before the next election demands that the veep acts for 90 days and then elections.Infact the 90days is just there to consolidate the veep’s position if adopted hence not democratic.I think its time we had a reasonable cnstitution.

  39. I really don’t see what Magande is being congratulated for.It appears you all expect these so called aspirants to go on some kind of rampage when they lose an election. It is his duty to accept the outcome. It’s not like he had an option.Lol

  40. #61 Mwaiche Pragmatist
Why are you selling your soul to support the come back of these plunderers? If you truely want to honour LPM`s legacy, then you must push the morals that governed him.Let`s be honest and support what is noble and can move our country forward.
You still haven`t responded to my comments in #41.

  41. # 14 Chaka, The Zambian way of making love is pretty simple:
Never come before your woman reaches her climax! Plus, move your tool like a brush inside all her corners. She will never leave you for another. For us Bembas it’s easier because we just need to dance Chikokoshi with her…white women go frenzy and begin to ask “what rythm are you dancing to?”.

  42. Guys weekly post is rubbish now. I can’t stand their personal interesting being exhibited in their paper. It has become a worst paper ever in the history of Zambia.

  43. Guys it’s done he’s afraid for his job u think he’s going to say nthing bad to someone who might be the next president?u must be kidding me the man is scared,he doesn’t wanna go back to work the ground pa farm.Oh @ the undisclosed name for the mmd presidency is maureen mwanawasa the cat is out of the bag.

  44. congratulation RB,please don’t forget your friend chiluba.we been for NICHEKELEKO for a long time.We all behind you as we move to the Good old days.LT how about a zambian flag.

  45. We need to start filtering the ink that runs through the posts editors pen. People have you read the rubbish in todays editorial of the post.membe is not normal.

  46. There was nothing wrong in Magande, supported by Maureen, stating that Mwanawasa preferred Magande. Indeed, there was nothing wrong even in Levy himself doing so. Whereas the party, as Magande said, has to follow its constitution, it is only fools like Sondashi and others who were disputing Mwanawasa’s stated will when they were not there when it was stated. Support the constitution but do not dispute facts you do not since you were not a member of Cabinet where it was stated. Why should Maureen and Magande lie?

  47. #70 i wonder if you even read the Post? Its no longer The Weekly Post. Its simply The Post……but you are right, those guys are quickly becoming irrelevant.

And let me now see the ka flag from LT….noti va boza LT

  48. Hey Guys, can someone tell me who the best Presidential candidate is for these by elections, someone who will continue Mwanawasa s fight against thieves like Chiluba, Regina and friends? We dont want to go back years again.

  49. Indeed the post editorial is ridiculous… They know what they have to loose and it’s about time they accepted whats coming their way… i think they are kinda abusing their freedom of speech because no one seems to be impressed with them lately…if they have nothing to say they need to HUSH up…

  50. #68 Nine Chale…an empty vessel makes the most noise.bet your woman has never come from you, link us up l give her ghetto kamasutra, she will never speak to you again your little chikokoshi tool will swim after l bless her with a good shag

  51. #14…en #68…u’ve made ma day guyz..!m filin u big tym..

    OLD COBRA

  54. Magande..please accept defeat and shup…Mwanawasa prefered all zambians, not just you..how are you to claimed be prefered..every child in the family feels special and prefered by parents…come on, get over it..at the end of the day, MMD is finished and win loss big time to PF…

  55. #14…en #68…u’ve made ma day guyz..!m filin u guys big tym..
Wats wit d LT en dis flag thin? hey m in zed rite nw so dnt brin up yo tuma antha flag on ma cmmnt…oky..?nido atah imwe!

  56. Zambians just remember, if you vote RB, you are simply voting MMD back in. RB is just a front for them out of desperation. Then we shall get inbasela UNIP on top of that.
Magande has no choice but to accept defeat and protect his job.

  57. LT Atah!put a zambian flag nt dis yo flag u putin on ma cmmnts..
Wats evn d country of dis same flag u putin on ma cmmnt.?

  58. Well done ba Magande i for one will vote for you come 2011 if you stand proveded no one comes out of the blues by then with a manifestol that will impress me. and as long as God still blesses me with life.

  59. MABENGA,KATELE, XEVIER CHUNGU, VJ, CHRISTONE TEMBO ETC WHERE WILL OUR COUNTRY GO TO? AH? NO! I WILL NOT PUT MY VOTE ON RB. HE HAS LOST MY VOTE. THESE PEOPLE COMING TO HIS SIDE ARE NOT WHAT I WANT. THEY ARE TOO OLD TO GET BACK INTO GOVERMENT AGAIN. WE HAVE FRESH MINDS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND WE START THINKING OF VJ?
I THOUGHT HE SAID HE HAD RETIRED? THIS IS UPSETTING ME.

  60. #90
The Post still bitter – coz Magande lost was suppose to bail them out remember Zambia Airways – financial trouble $1.6.

  61. One Love to the Mother Nation. But i gatta say this…..Most of the bros n over the f#ckin ocean dont know what poverty looks like …F$ck u can afford to drop a coupla grands onceu touch Zed after u F@ck off …..bottom line u dont even give a f%ck…Locals especially pipo from rural areas are surrering one meal a day sometime none….and yet u are still big mouthed bout succession…..No offence if u r a son/ nephew, aunty, niece, cousin of these political resycle heads.watch ya status…Dont favour crap favour zed. SATA will rule.

  62. Anyway this is democracy, the problem is in Africa once you lose or win an election you others as enemies for having different options. Those who have contest MMD presidency can be true democracies. I hate those who withdraw on the 11th hour like Kavindele did in 1988. I will not forgive him for that, so shall not for give those who with draw this time. Why contest by the way when you know you will withdraw. Thank you Gen. Siakapwasha and Magande for exercise the democractic rights

  64. People? you see why i dont count LPM’s corruption fight? Before he appointed RB as veep, didnt he know about RB and NAMBOARD? that fight was very selective and only dealt with people that had differances with LPM, his wife, ministers etc. What corruption fight? my foot! Former first lady no power now. yabaa! she is out RB and his crew will not jget my vote. trust me.

  65. the post has become rubbish and exhibiting alot of personal interests, why are you so against RB, am told the nchito brothers are part of the editoral comments. thanks LT for giving us free and unwavering news.

  66. Ba #108. Ba Original.. you sound like you are in New york. Why the vibe? you like near tupac? Just give us things we can read and learn from. not this. Check your self.

  67. As much as I dont like the MMD,I think this Presidental by-election is theirs owing to the circumstyances its being held.
There are many people who were touched by the presidents passing and so when they go to vote, they will choose RB for continuity.
I would want to vote for Sata because his health is playing with his heart. If Sata assumed reigns at State House then he has to leave a will as soon as he is elected or record a farewell message in advance as well.
God forbid, but honestly Zambians what will other countries think of us if we voted for Sata and died in power?
I officially remove Sata from the presidentila race on health grounds.

  68. Glad the crazyness is all over or has it just began?? It will be interstting to see who “The Post” newspaper supports as they were clearly biased towards Magande. Will it be HH, RB or the Cobra. If I were them, I’d hope for a lack of support from the post as that seemingly translates into victory.

  69. T#104.Nine Chale TWO men in Livingstone have died and a third is battling for his life in Batoka Hospital after consuming ‘vuka vuka,’ believed to enhance men’s sexual prowess.
The three men aged 34, 35 and 37 were yesterday drinking an opaque beer at a bar in town when an elderly man approached and sold them the ‘gun powder’.Strength strength you are the guyz that make people over do things Chale

  70. The greatest enemy of achieving full potential is comfort zone. The past few years has seen the Nchito brothers and The Post gain so much influence and wealth that they thot it will continue forever. My advice to them is, that comfort zone is over. And it is time the duo realised that they are ordinary citizens. No amount of faulting everyone will ever make them attain the artificial attention they enjoyed during the rule of the late Mwanawasa. What Zambians need is positive reporting so us not to scare investors for the benefit of all. This selfish reporting for the sake of own pocket should be exposed not by politician but by ordinary peopl

  71. #118 Lozi Boyz, are you an amateur in these things? Never heard about the “towel test”?:

If you can hang more than 3 towels on your erection without your tool succumbing, you’ve got the strength.
If you can only manage to hang one, then I’m sorry for you lady. I don’t mean to brag but after drinking some roots, I can do up to 5 towels!

  72. #119 Strange indeed…young men of 34, 35 and 37 going for sexual enhancement?

I just hope the MMD will lose big time this time around especially that they are fielding RB

  73. #119 LoziBoyz, I’m sorry for those men but no one is to blame. Every man is responsible for his own actions. Some people have died of viagra overdose too. You better just make sure you’re drinking the right thing. I know my sources of supply.

  74. #122Nine Chale how big are the towels supposed to be?what kind of roots do u recommend?one nigga here is saying strength is measured by duration of and errection and not election day or the force of gravity exerted on on the towels

  75. Thank you NEC for handing power back to UNIP,I knew power hadn’t eluded us for too long.Viva humanism! Viva one party state! One Zambia one nation!Kwena LPM amiteya injuka ba MMD and you fell for it…LPM rest in eternal peace…..

    MINIMUM ‘DEGREE’

  77. RB has got it and since RB will just continue with the existing MMD economic plans my advice to him is that he should priotise Job creation, while keeping an eye on corruption. How come the country is doing so well economically yet very few jobs have been created?
How can the government create new jobs? Mr RB it takes belief, focus and sacrifices to achieve your goals.
Successful presidents do things that unsuccessful presidents are not willing to do.This belief will not come from Mwaanga and his group because these will just tell you what they know you what to hear.Use NGOs, academicians and indeed civil servants.

  78. #122Nine Chale how about this issue of girls telling guyz to be going to the gym?does it add strength coz i have never seen a prick lifting weights ?

  79. CHOPPER THE INTELLECTUAL

  80. Iwe 114# MTzee, what if Sata out lives you because you die on road accident and you have writtena will. Life my brother is a gift from God when your time comes you will leave this earth even if you wantit or not

  81. I wish the Auditor General can do a snip check on how the public coffers have been handled since RB has been in charge. When I write that the plunderers are back, that`s no joke at all. It`s free for all.

  82. #130 LoziBoyz, those girls are mistaken because the work out in the gym has no effect on your tool. For that muscle, you need special training. I will give you some tips on another day because I ‘ve got to go and see the World Cup qualifying match Germany vs. Liechtenstein on TV. Bye for now, Lozi Boy.

  83. That Dora Siliya whats wrong with her these days? # 130 & #122 can’t you go and test your powers at Dora, she needs to go on maternity leave before erections in November. What MMD democracy is she talking about? Sata, send those MMD to their villages, PF has to win if Teta hangs himself or not..

  84. 130: You don’t need the roots if you go to the gym. I have tried it and 1. The count increases 2. You last longer 3. You enjoy 4. Power is increased. These attributes will never be over comed by ISANGOMA or the roots from Mansa. I have tried it and one chap here said you are a man indeed.

  86. Sylvia Masebo says there are no losers? Don’t make me laugh!!She is the biggest loser. And liar too! Here is my advise to her: Start drawing up a new list of who to sleep with next.

  87. Can someone tell me what the Post agenda has been the past 17 years. Has there presence been positive or they should just be banned????? Have they added any voice on the zambian political scenario????
I am trying to understand what makes the post so worked up because they have been right most of the times. Could it be that they know what we don’t know.

  88. There is no need to fire Silver Masebo ,that woman is very beautiful, she has to be maintained in the cabinet as a motivating factor, its the presence of such women that make men work extra hard.As for Dora mmmmmmm her breasts speak for themselves, with such a woman around men might fail to concentrate on their work instead they might start fantasizing

  89. Magande should resign from his ministerial position. It is unethical for him to use his ministerial position and defer Zambian Airways debt to National Airports Corporation just because Mmembe supported his presidency. That is as clear as quid pro quo gets. We need a parliamentary investigation on Magande. Isn’t he the same guy who was tried for using government resources on an election not too long ago? We have 1.6 million reasons why Peter should resign. Government positions are not there to help out businesses of friends. Magande has placed his interests above those of the country.

  90. We are happy that Mr Banda Has being Adopted we Hope all the recycled people behind him will not manpurate him .We are happy for you Mr Banda

    thanks

  91. There is no need to investigate Magande over Zambian Airways. Why do you want to punish Zambian Airways. Magande has just extended a facility that has been offered to mining companies. shoprite and other foreign companies. We need to start protecting our own. Last year in England the government moved in to save Northern Rock ( a rail company) from collapse.A time fram must be worked out in which zambian airways can pay back the credit. I f zanmbian airways collapses do you no how many jobs will be lost and along with that PAYE?

  92. Sata and HH should not team up because they have very differnt approach to domestic and foreign policies. Sata is anti foreign nationals while HH is pro foreigners because we are now in a global village. Fighting China which Sata is doing is folly because China is the most strongest country on earth at the moment. USA owes the world bank $9 trillion dollars right now and $6 trillion of that is from China source. I think HH should be given a shot at presidency and in this election he will surprise people. Sata also doesnt seem to value education. His comments on learnt people can actually keep you kids away from school

  93. We do not want another state funeral. Heart attacks are very fatal with us Zambians.RB should also start grooming a successor. Typical, African presidents do not want to hand the touch to a younger generation. Sata should also have a candidate for 2011, same with MMD, I do not think they have a vice president yet.Whats with these African politicians, Dos Santos in Angola has been in power for my whole life-time except 5 yrs, Mugabe 28 yrs, KK 27 yrs, etc. When will africa get it that the longer these stay the worst service we get. I hope RB and Sata are listening, groom someone now.

  94. The did you good last friday. JUst start preparing how you are going to explain to the nation the monies you, membe, nchito brothers you drew from zesco account to buy shares in zambian airways. Thats why you instructed nationalairport not to claim whats due to them because of your illegal dealings. Start planning you will join chiluba soon.

  95. Chris, if Zambian firms such as Zambian Airways should be accorded the same incentives foreign investors have, that decision has to come from cabinet, and not from Magande. He needs to be investigated for abuse of office for personal gain.

  96. who cares who lpm wanted as a successor.its a democracy where the people not one man decides, that seems to have been the late presidents problem,mr ‘know it all’

  97. ECZ, # 83, you are a joker

    Presidential Bye-elections
    HH>>>15%
    RB>>>30%
    MS>>>55%

    Presidential bye-erections
    HH>>>85%
    MS>>>10%
    RB>>>5%

  98. Sata will lose the presidential bye-election to RB so badly to the extent that it will be the end of his political career. That semi-illiterate tin pot dictator will not rule Zambia. He is a typical tribalist. He can’t see beyond Bemba. He is a danger to society.PF will only get votes in Lusaka, part of Northern,Luapula and Copperbelt. A repeat of 2006 elections will occur. The difference is that PF will get fewer votes this time.ABASH SATA THE TYPICAL. TRIBALIST.

  99. Mangande mudala bali ku myanga chabe, naimwe ba #155 ikalenifye na tribalism yenu, there you go again unsubstantiated allegations, such is detrimental to the progress, development and unit of mother Zambia. JUST SHUT UP IF YOU HAVE NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY.
