President Rupiah Banda waves at MMD cadres before he left for Nigeria at Lusaka international airport

President, Rupiah Banda, has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria for a two-day official visit.

President Banda touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 17 hours local time.

He is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister, Kabinga Pande and his counterpart at Energy and Water Affairs Minister, Kenneth Konga, and some other senior government officials .

The President was welcomed by Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ojo Maduekwem, Zambian High Commissioner to that country Godfrey Musonda, his deputy, Richard Kachingwe, and Zambians living in Nigeria.

President Banda is tomorrow expected to hold private talks with his Nigerian counterpart President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua before returning to Lusaka in the afternoon.

President Banda’s visit to Nigeria has raised expectations of strengthening bilateral ties for the economic and social development of the two countries.

Zambian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Godfrey Musonda, yesterday held that President Banda has shown determination to use bilateral relations existing between Zambian and Nigeria to attract more investment from west Africa for the economic benefit of the national economy.

Mr Musonda indicated that Nigerian financial institutions, among them the Access Bank, UBA and Eco Bank have since negotiated to open business in Zambia, adding that more potential investors have expressed intetrest to work with Zambian businesses in various economic development programmes.

  4. It is good to attract investors from sister african countries. These investors are very familiar with the our bussiness environment and can easily partner with local investors. Our goverments need to support investment among african countries

  5. Sata was correct. Ama mines. you need people who understand how these crooks in mines operate. Late them invest but you have all the chance to hit them……… Amabwe are there, so get the mines back after they have invested and be cool with big guys, they will always buy????

  7. It is good to make this diplomatic visit to Nigeria which is west Africa’s powerhouse. I hope more investments will come from Nigeria which is growing at a fast pace.

Next, we need another diplomatic visit to Kenya and South Africa so as to strengthen ties and make economic deals that will benefit Zambia more especially in this time of global economic hardships. Congratulations Mr President for noticing that only Africans will develop Africa and there is need for more Africa to Africa economic integration.

At this time, we would like to thank the Nigerian business community for taking notice of Zambia’s economic achievement and investing.

  11. Zambians own 25% in Nigerian Bank

Access bank of Nigeria’s entry into Zambia presents the country with the first major opportunity of interacting with a West African bank and it is expected that Zambia will benefit significantly from the economic interaction of one of Africa largest and most fertile economies, Bank director Davies Chewe has said.

Mr. Chewe told journalists in Lusaka that the bank’s expansion into SADC was consistent with its growth strategy of becoming a major catalyst for growth accross the African continent.

  12. cont from 21

Mr. Chewe, who was speaking ahead of the bank’s official openning on Wednesday next week disclosed that a consortium of Zambian businesspersons own 25 per cent of the bank’ shares while 75 per cent is retained by the mother company in Nigeria.

He said that Access Zambia which plans to list on the Lusaka Stock exchange by the year 2012 would by the end of this year have employed up 120 Zambians.

  13. cont from 22

He said Access bank partnership with Zambian offers immerse benefits for employees of Acees bank Zambia, its customers and other stakeholders because of the bank’s record of stimulating real sector development and empowerment of enrepreneurs.

Acting president Rupiah Banda is set to officially open Access bank Zambia next week at the bank’s headquarters in Lusaka. The bank has been operating in Zambia for the past three months.

  14. Nigerian investment is okay dont associate it with Nigerian fraudsters. We need to welcome investment from sister african countries

  15. Zambians, see for yourselves on zambia online how RB is rated.POORLY is the word. The opposition must do serious thinking if their aim is to dislodge the MMD. Come together or you will continue seeing Zambia go deeper down the drain. RB will leave this country alot worse than has found it, no two ways about this. The worst horror movie though would be having himm run for presidency in 2011. I shudder!!!!

  16. Since the constitutional officer bearers 15% increaments emoluments have now been effected (w w w. muvitv. com ), how much will Vice President and Minister of justice George Kunda be taking home as Salary and allowances? Is it a case of double-class allowance which teachers who used to teach 2 classes at a go got as salaries + allowances in the past? Or will the man get all the two salaries and all allowances pertaining to each position that he holds?

Shall then include a law in the constitution that no one person must be allowed to hold two GRZ offices at a go so that everyone can have atleast a share of the country’s resources.

  17. Nigeria! Vj advices Rejected Ballot(RB) to visit a nigerian “doctor” on how to govern the country in his sleep! The shrines will be situated at state-house, this time around, it will be Thandiwe universal temple. Access is a scam! (419) the nigerians use it to clean their ill-gotten wealth, more like Hh and his mysterious k40b as far as am concerned, a good nigerian, is a dead nigerian!

  18. Whereas Obama is promising Americans a cutdown on wasteful and extravagant spending, RB Mphunoikulu is on a state visit to Nigeria and recently dished out brown envelops (like Chiluba) during his campaign for re-election, all at the expense of starving Zambians. Does Mphunoikulu care?

  19. It won’t be long before the poor Zambians with 25% shares in the bank lose all their money! Watch this space!
Why are Zambians so obsessed with anything foreign? They despise their own, they are easy prey for foreigners. Lord have mercy!

  20. #31. Pumpy, great stuff my fellow Citizen. Let us keep GRZ in check and help the NCC to come up with a Republican Constitution that is pro-all-72-tribes-and-other-Zambian-Nationals-of-any-sort-of-background.

  21. # 33-Iwe Kalen Bulaya, there is what is called Ministers of Honour who receive Heads Of State. When you have a AU summit or SADC meeting, it is Ministers that receive Presidents because itis impossible for a President to spend the whole day at the airport. That is why the machilas, masebos and dakas would be seen receiving presidents at the airport.

Even President bush is not met by the Queen or Gordon Brown when he arrives at Heaththrow. If you need more counsel – we will guide you the young ones.

  22. Ala mwe banthu umfweni,RB has assented to the bill for salary increaments. So dont even waste time talking about it,because it wont make any difference.Ala RB and friends ma dribblers.God help Zambia,People have been retrenched on the copperbelt. And many more might loose there jobs in the mines. But to these people the first priority are increaments on their salaries.Aya naku Nigeria kwati ale wamya!

“It won’t be long before the poor Zambians with 25% shares in the bank lose all their money! Watch this space!”

Do you have any proof of this???

  24. Travel and you will see for youself the type of standards they have. sewerage iyenda mustreet. Go to their so called Victoria island. These people are highly disorganised

  25. #34.Maestro HhehhehhehheA Republican Constitution that is pro-all-72-tribes-and-other-Zambian-Nationals-of-any-sort-of-background will be a big blow to such parties such as UPND.Let us support parties of national unity in Zambia

  26. @ 43 John Laing

So where do you suggest investment come from. I mean I could travel to China and I see paved roads, high standard infrastructure but you guys don’t want Chinese investment.

So please tell me what you want.

  27. Iwe Free markrt Capilist should standards. Then we may as well go and seek Somali investors? You seem okey with Mediocrity

  28. The world is to big for RB. His presidency angenda is to himself. Let alone the smile. Already someone is conviced by the smile to he knows what his doing. Lightening we send to hunt you

  29. @ #48 John Laing

The question is not hard to answer. You brought about standards and I showed you that China has got high standards but you are pessimistic about Chinese investment.

So please tell us where investment should come from. It is not a hard question to answer.

I sometimes get the feeling Zambians on this blog are more disorganized than the same govt they criticize on a daily basis.

  30. Very constructive criticism, this time around… give the Nigerians a chance and if they mess up boot them off, afterall you know what to look out for.

The President may have “motives” but there is no crime in trying creative solutions.

We have a track record of all the other supposed investors, and in conclusion, what?

  31. And you guys,do you know that the Salaries wil be backdated to January 2008? And why should people be cheated like this in Zambia.

  32. Please kindly be informed that there will be a memorial service at Leopards Hill Cemetery Tomorrow for the PF’s loss of 2006 and 2008 elections. The programme will be as follows (1) Lung-bursting mocking laughter by F.T.J. Chiluba on the 2008 Loss of elections by PF (2) Gnashing of teeth by the PF executive on the 2006 and 2008 losses (Sata and Lubinda will lead the Gnashers). (3)Laying of wreaths of unfounded evidence of 2006 and 2008 election rigging. (4)Unveiling of the tombstone of defeat inflicted on Sata by R.B ( VJ will unveil the tombstone). (5)Closing wailing prayer by Sata on the end of his quest for Zambia’s presidency

  33. #44. Choma1, hhehhehhehhe, what then shall become of democracy? May be rephrase or erabolate on ‘…A Republican Constitution that is pro-all-72-tribes-and-other-Zambian-Nationals-of-any-sort-of-background will be a big blow to such parties such as UPND.Let us support parties of national unity in Zambia’. What does parties of National unity mean?

  34. Are these the same type of investors we hear about that South Africa wish they never entered their country? Is he visiting to find out how to become super rich as a politician? Well, sometimes we have to admit, Zambia will never develop. No country as ever developed with mediocre leaders in office. With this world economy, when the effects start reaching nations like Zambia with leaders who have not planned for the rain day, you will see the real gnashing. Once the effects reach our nation, what would RB, Kunda, Teta, Mpombo, VJ do? They know nothing about planning, but good at taking care of their pockets.

  35. ?57.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe There is no prove as to say Democracy has to be adopted by every country and society.Zambia is not ready for democracy and it might not be ready. If we had serious people we could easily come up with a system of governance that would excel and succed in a country like ZaMBIA.Its the so called democracy that has brought wars and suffering to the peoples of Africa.

  36. You will see the Nigerian which craft now coming to Zed. Just wait.

I reallydont think Nigeria is a countriy to open up to.Ask FTJ

  37. Mr Banda you could have as well phoned and talked on phone what ever business… rather than you wasting time and money travelling

  38. #37.Kalen Bulaya, just because you’re used to seeing some African Presidents falling over each other to receive other Presidents doesn’t mean it is done everywhere. It is a meaningless ritual of no value whatsoever. It’s a waste of valuable time and resources that could be better utilized engaging in more useful activities! And you wonder why Africa lags behind every other region in the world! Somebody tell, what’s the significance of a head of state waiting at the airport for hours, often with his entire cabinet, to receive another head of state? Zero!

  39. I totally agree with you #35. Mossad No 2. In the US or the UK no self-respecting President or Prime Minister, much less the Queen would be caught dead at Reagan National Airport or Heathrow waiting for a president from Zambia or anywhere else for that matter. These are some of the utterly useless practices whose origins are even doubtful that we should be ridding ourselves of in this 21st century. Do you know how much production is lost every time you round up all those women and poor school children to line up the streets to welcome your president every time he returns from some trip abroad or ever time he has to meet some one at the airport? Use your head, man!

  40. 27.Concerned Citizen overseas,
Stop comforting yourself with faulty polls like unintelligent blogger. Is that how you make statistical conclusions of probable cases? FYI, in over 3 month from September to present I have been privileged to actively take part in an internet security research project that has monitored ZOL and LT for detailed traffic data to establish the impact of e-democracy and commerce. A study of well documented traffic on IPs, servers and exchange zones bloggers are blogging from would leave you shocked and wondering why there is self deceit and lack of integrity. It’s a game of mutations by same few bloggers making statistical arguments impossible.

  41. Conti..

    # 27.Concerned Citizen overseas,

Like ZOL owner Chanda Chisala now in California impersonates bloggers and posts in mutations under 9 IDs. FYI, on these blogs the traffic data is 55% of posts are from North America including Canada with the US leading, 35% EU countries with UK leading, Russia, Ukraine, China,Australia, new zealand, Tunisia, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and those in Zambia sharing the remaining percentile. All in all there the two blogs have an authentic record of less than 1000 bloggers cumulatively blogging. Conducted opinion polls are voter 10-15 times on average by same characters from colleges and work places identified.

  42. The negligible number of few blogging from Zambia, use paid internet cafes and they are there logged in for less than 10 minutes. This said, your ZOL polls are statistically fraud and not representative of anything.

  43. #60. Choma1, thanks.

The problem in Africa in general and Zambia in particular is that illiteracy is very high such that people are hero-worshippers and brainwashed.
So, my take is that Democracy will eventually become a useful way of governing Zambia in the long-run, but we first have to do away with people who harbour old-mentality of doing politics.
I have hope that by 2021, Zambian, democracy will be at an advanced level. This is so because Undereducates will probably not be at the helm of running the Zambian Community. Also, the Educates are beginning to realise that they cant continue to shun politics leaving it hands of people who make it DIRTY and manipulate the masses.

  44. I cannot believe the level of economic incompetence portrayed by some Zambians on this blog more especially from the Diaspora. I now see why people like Pragmatist stopped blogging on this blog. It is because he will be attacked by some deranged Stata worshipper.

Do you guys know what it takes to develop a country or you just base it on cherry picked theories. Why would the Prime Minister of Canada be talking with Columbia on trade??? A country known for its corruption and drug trade and is ranked as number 1 on the countries with the highest crime rates?? Why would the president of the USA be talking with North Korea on trade.

    [tbc

  45. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe,

Like you i blogged and blogged until i realised that change and democracy in Zambia has nothing to with the blog.Research has convinced me that this is just for entertainment.Politics and change is on the ground not in blogs. This is why your HH is heading nowhere politically. He is regressing from where Mazoka left UPND.He comes here blogging with us and banks on our flatterly that he is popular on the internet.Of the traffic here less than 1% is from zambia then how do you effect change through the blog? If you have the brains help HH desolve his NEC and call for free and none tribal election where a national image should emerge.he should open up to competion.

  46. cont from #72]

Do you even know what Rupiah Banda is going to do in Nigeria?? Do you even know the importance of having diplomatic ties with other countries more especially on this continent. Especially a country that is growing at a fast pace.

It seems Zambians have become extremely xenophobic. Anyone, no matter how genuine as long as they carry the “investor” tag, will be insulted by some Sata worshipper. It makes me sick to my stomach to see this. These are the same Zambians that claim Zambians back home are illiterate but the same people attack investors before even evaluating the credibility of the investment. These are the same Zambians who’s only contribution to Zambia is [tbc

  47. #70.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe You are right,we really have to tackle the illiteracy ,information and education levels of Zambians before we can talk about democracy. There can never be democracy in a country like zambia as for now maybe there is Zamcracy.People get into power by taking advantage of Zambians who cant read and write.

  48. cont from #74]

sending funds to the country through a WESTERN OWNED COOPERATION (Western Union). This kind of stuff is mind boggling. Rupiah Banda has only been in power for a couple of weeks and unlike Mr Sata, Rupiah Banda was part of a government that works (LPM GOVT) which made achievements that the Chiluba govt which Sata was part of failed at in this country.

This is amazing. My candidate lost but if there is some good from this govt, I might as well swallow my pride and give credit where credit is due. Instead of being pessimistic Sata worshippers, why not wait and evaluate the fruits of this Diplomatic visit.

  49. Every leader must have a vision, a mission and a plan. Me still cyaan’t see any of dat in RB but me can ahready see it in Obama.

  50. #73. your flag Chapi and #75. your flag Choma1, you concerns are real and great. On the UPND and president Hakainde Hichilema, I believe that it is the only real TEAM we have as of now that gives us hope. The UPND had a Convention where the man who had an upperhand lost gracefully though pride took him away. I am happy he is beginning to learn that dancing to the tune of the MMD in the 2008 was not enough to get quick Vice President succession that would have given him yet another opportunity to act as president this time as a Country President not a party one. President RB Banda did very well to leave both Sakwiba and Nawakwi as opposition members helping them to take politics as it is.

  51. #79 continued.
The mighty UPND might be going through times of turbulences, but there current members’ discipline is a good model of practising maturity. With the coming back of Chisanga into politics – especially if he goes back to UPND – and, hopefully a fresh joining of, Prof. C. Chirwa into this UPND TEAM propelled by the current HH campaign momentum, I have no doubt that 2011 will mark a real historical change from politics of appeasements and Undereducates to that with a horde of men and women who have a passion to provide proper SERVICE and serve the Zambian people from the bottom of their hearts. Lets not despair for the best of the UPND is yet to come and hence lets all be part.

  52. Chapi and choma1, “Marketing is the science and art of finding, keeping, and growing potential customers” – P. Kottler.
We are on track and we will get there, if the good Lord God recalls us in sleeping before this is achieved, let us atleast leave this world having left a legacy where the next generation of Zambians to pick it up from us will build upon and see our Zambian dream in fruition.
This is I believe the reason president HH and the mighty UPND participated in the just ended Presidential bye-election so that our Republican Constitution would be upheld and also to set a benchmark for 2011 tripatite elections. The people get to hear and see the UPND Team, the more they will know it.

  53. Is this state visit in Zambia’s interest or the new president just fulfulling the diary of the late. If the latter is the case, then I have no further arguments.

  54. Godfrey Musonda has a cut in this deal. everyone who has lived in Nigeria will tell you the same. Something cooking here.

  55. I would speculate that the reason for this trip may perhaps be to learn from the Nigerians on how they are managing the oil and multinationals in the hope that samples in Zambia will yield some results. If indeed we have oil in Zambia, we need to manage it well and learn from the Nigerians what mistakes not to make. The other reason may be that, RB is trying to source some cheap fuel to help stimulate our fragile economy. Unemployment in Zambia is set to rise and diversifying in to other fields is the only hope.

  56. Bloggers, understand how the cyberspace we designed twenty years ago works. Post an article and wait for responses on your posting before you post another. It is called debating without a chairman but based on reason. I was one of the architects of this blogging system in the 1989. So behave or I will advise LT to stop you in your buds. I am very democratics but can also be a Sata if you push me. so boys and girls, let us listen to the elders, they have at least brought us up. No insults but analyse issues – I love you all including the illiterate ones. Don’t worry.

  57. #84, Bauze, I respect your thinking. At times don’t accuse anybody before you have facts. This could have been a planned LPM’s trip and the new President is just honouring it. No problem with that because I know there might have been some value in what LPM planned.

  58. # 80. 72 Tribes, 1 Nation,

Allow me to chip in with a few lines in your discourse.Politics is about numbers, drawing momentum on established bases, building bridges, critical masses and realignments with winning strategy on short term memory issues that resonates with voters. Its not about propounding Graduate school thesis or desertations. Its about envoking party predispositions to engage and win territories. Its not about the recruitments of PHDs holders of different political value systems open to crosss-stitute for the sake of realising a dream. Its about shared values and abilities to consolidate political constituencies.Obama won because of his communinity service organizing skills.

  59. #80 in a democracy the leader is always not predictable. If you predict a leader the democratic values are lost. That is why SATA will NEVER be president in Zambia. KK was not the defacto leader od UNIP when he came out of prison, Nelson mandela was not the defacto leader of ANC when he came out of prison, so goes Mugabe, LPM. even the crooked FTJ. Don’t endorse leaders before the party has gathered momentum!!! Listen to the words of reason. You will die with psots that don’t win power. Enjoy the role of an underdog, it always wins.

  60. The strategy adapted my HH of insulting RB day in and out will hurt him so much in politics especially with RB’s deafening silence to petty politics he deems kindergatten level typical of his Diplomatic attitude of not responding to cheap.HH could be entertaining a few heads but certainly an ultimate loser. His time is better spend in planting and fertizing the party across the country eond southern province.RB holder of a Master degree and others with vast statecraft years f experience is as educated as HH’s MBA credentials he is using to belittle others with. The young man is burning too many bridges in troubled waters a sign of immaturity.

  61. Its agood experience as president, moving from country to country may be an archivement to some, but going to Nigeria on grounds of any busness deals or anything to do with partnership is a waste of time. N o seriouce deal deal can be signed among these 2 countries, What i personally have learnt from these guys(Nigerians) is to be very carefull, with them. Yeh they show serioucness but with some bad plans just good for them to benefit more than you would. GOOD LUCK MR PRESIDENT.

  62. Let us enrich our blogging by also posting articules from the post and other newspapers, then that way our debates will be richer. So post any relevant article that will attract more views and then we can move Zambian issues forward instead of us being restruicted to discusiing LT articles.

  63. I hang up my hands up because before my earlier posting was discussed the other one appeared. My apologies bloggers. This is undemocratic on my part and LT as well because they are not operating in a real time environment. No two articules from the same person should follow each other . Use computer science LT and not sociology or carpentry please!!!!

  64. I am glad not to part of the govt that will make a deal with the fake generals of west Africa. He will be washed by the Nigerian anyway. I can’t wait to see Zed being used by Nigeria.

  65. HE is now my friend RB. respect him!!!! That is why I am not going to court. You fake PF cadres let me down. I lost from two constituencies because of chishimba umwaiche ulya. Akachimona. Nka mwipaya iyene inkuba fye. Naka Nawakwi – nkekapaya nakena!!

  66. If Chiluba participates in poilitics in 2011 and still attracts crowds, I will not stand because the crook is everything I do not want as part of my Legacy. That is why RB needs to fire Mulongoti, Katele, Mabenga and some other other ancillary crooks befor I am annointed. I do not want to do dirty jobs for people!!!

  67. Mwanawasa was wise. That is why hw saved Sata’s life. He is more of a democratic article than Chiluba who nearly killed LPM for fear od competition!!! Education kwena is power!!! That is why a failed G7 wants Chiluba wants to be seen with books in the streets. Do you need that to show that you are educated? I have worked in 3 good Universities, no body has ever seen me studying. I simply demonstrate my knowledge and skills. Why should a former president be worried about showimg that he can read? Complex, complex and a big one for that matter!!!

  68. I think its unfair to play down the significance of Nigeria. Its high time we looked at some of Africa’s power houses for partnership in economic development. We can surely benefit from Nigeria’s 130 million people.

  69. Our newspapers are worrying me. Is that how low our educational standards have sunk? Spellings bane, sentence construction and the usual tenses are all oblique. Bana besu please what are you doing to us? we used to be role models in comprehension and composition, mwaitaya!! Chiluba dstroyed you kwena!! A man who has no vision and can ot educate a single child out of eleven. It surely couldn’t be the children’s fault or Vera’s fault because there were many women I know involved!!! Ichamba mwe babemba please stop and grow maize in a sober state!!! Plenty rains in your province guys!! Be productibve please we fed you in our drought stricken poor provinces – SP, CBP CP and our mighty Lusaka!!

  70. Banda should visit Nigeria for more corruption blessings. When he is back in zambia,he will have learnt more tricks, manupulation and cheating.

  71. #67-69 (Chapi)

In your research, Did you consider:

    1. The fact that more than one person can use the same computer?
    2. That all PCs in an organisation use the same public IP address?
    3. That some blog from cell phones and may have their connection routed through the same proxy server?

Students blogging from colleges will definitely use the same PCs in the college Library, same for those who use internet cafes and of course, families that have a home PC connected to the internet.

If you left out at least one the cosidertions stated above, then you conclusion may be less accurate than you think.

    To be continued …

  72. Continued from #109

Its true some people will have more than one ID but the points stated above are strong and must not be ignored.

You should also consider the fact that the info that people get from the arguments presented here can be shared by bloggers to
non-boggers potentially influencing them in one direction another – at least I know I do that.

I’m going back to bed now.

  73. What a horrible move! This guy should have made a significant move either in Europe or America to instill the lost confidence in co-operating partners. What is there in Nigeria? I’m very apprehensive about his adnim; nothing tangible is promising on his table.

  74. #82.Anonymous, my sentiments exactly! Chapi is indeed very impressive in his analyses. Unfortunately can’t be said of many on this blog!! Keep it up Chapi!!

  76. Whats z difference with that naigerian or west african doing 419 with that relative of yours in Zambia who has misused all the building funds that you have been sending home to build that house. Remember the pictures that the some losers send you of a house at roof level and yet its not? well that 419 in your face. Remember when you call home & its all “send money for food or school fees?” most of the times they just drink the ngwees-419.
Remember that lady or man who has been telling you to send them money for a passport, visa, other logistics hoping to get them abroad and then marry them? Most of them end up getting married in Zed and switch off the phone or will come abroad & ran? AKA 419

  77. Abanthu Baya-trust me its that same story from the east to the west coast.

There are some peeps that may be honest but i have heard stories of 419 in Zambia.

Bottom line dont trust anyone build a house for you back home elo $ yakwela yaba ni shine-shine na sterling na george washington

  78. IWE CHI CIAO KEEP YOUR BIG MOUTH SHUT. GET THIS IN YOUR HEAD – RB IS HE AND YOUR SATA WILL NEVER BE. SO KEEP ON DREAMING.

  79. What do you know about W/Africa? READ THIS…

“Syndicates made up of some crooks from a certain well known african country are giving free key-rings at gas stations. Don’t accept them, as the key rings have a tracking device which allows them to follow you.

“Forward this alert to friends and family. These guys just select their seemingly well-to-do
potential victims and play the trick.

“The key holders I am told are too beautiful to resist collecting but
remember you may end up paying more including your life if you can’t resist.”

  80. Watch out for some Zambian men in diaspora that just want to date you so you cook nshima for them every day. Daily kupunda ndelele, kapenta na ku chaya 4 corner pa mupando

  81. Hi bloggers ;)RB just went to Nigeria so that his eyes can shine well well and for sure to learn 419 coz to me he looks very ‘FRESH’ if u know wat i mean. Also nigeria is well known for ‘vudu’. The only problem he has made the trip public, others go in secrecy. Watch him wen he comes back 4 sure he wont look so sheepish.

  82. #4 Energy sustainabilty my foot. Nigeria has no power. Generators are all over. They do not even have gas to power their turbine plants yet they are the 6th largest producer of oil in the world.

  83. #125 Spot on. Do not even start me on load shedding. It is funny though my broda! Some neighbourhoods do not experience it at all though.

Have a great day my broda.

  84. Father Frank Bwalya’s charges have been dropped before he even steps his foot in court. who ordered his arrest and who has dropped his charges? shame to these forces of evil!!

  85. Nice one. Bring more investors to come and improve the lives of Zambians. Nigeria is what our country needs.

Dream on Zambians. But keep praying for God to come quickly. Only answer I think.

    UNIP oyee oyeee!

  86. Most of the submmissions on this blog lack insight and basic analysis. I now know why most of you characters are academic failures! Learn to think before you write. You can not afford to take any topic as a big joke, we need mature contibutions that can provoke thought. I sometimes ask myself whether it’s worth it to access this blog!

  87. Our Presido must NOT accept to be reecieved by a minister..wheather is Britain/US/nigeria/RSA. This is pathetic.

This show who has an upper hand when the two presidents seat on the negotiating table.

What wrong with our protocol officers???

RB … pls behave as a president..you are humiliating us.

i’ve always wondered why party cadres and dancing men and women see off the president when he is leaving for a foreign land.
why party cadres in the first place? isn’t this man going out there to represent all zambians regardless of political affiliation?

this practice really must be stopped. wouldn’t it be enough to have just a few ministers there to see their boss off?
and why are the foreign diplomats also herded off to the airport to receiving him on his return?

someone please explain. it really baffles me.

  89. #130 political prostitite, are u happy for fr Bwalya or angry with the system.Men the rev fr doesnt deserve to be jailed for openning up our brains any!

  90. #76 well said. i did anticipate alot of concerns from diaspora zambia. we have all read and seen niger in action but i am made to retain a sense of respect for Nigerians. They have made alot of economic strides in the past years. If it were not for corruption, they would have gone extremely far.

But your comments are very informed. Thank you for posting.

THE FIVE RULES FOR DOING BUSINESS WITH NIGERIA
    Courtesy of The 419 Coalition

    1. NEVER pay anything up front for ANY reason.
    2. NEVER extend credit for ANY reason.
    3. NEVER do ANYTHING until their check clears.
    4. NEVER expect ANY help from the Nigerian Government.
    5. NEVER rely on YOUR Government to bail you out.

Check the 419 Coalition Website for more tips!

  92. Business Class,Feeling alittle jet lag,Hope he don’t come back as Cargo, disermbarking out from the Cargo Bay….Well lets bress our selves for anything nowadays,Foreign State visits not my type, sumone haz 2 tell RB,he has precedent on What happened to his Predecessor…

  93. U see bloggers,i told u yesterday that these thugs make alot of money by flying so they a salary increment is not necessary to them.Flying allowances were not included on that list.Guess how he got for that trip? K20M.

  94. He is gone to say thank you to Abedi Pele of Ghana who shamelesly campaigned for him. Hope he is not just spending much of the tax payers`money and time sleeping.

  95. #131 Investors! were nigeria…let us be very carefull here. Our brothers tend to have long hands when left in the open. No not nigerian’s as inverstors.

  96. #72, Nothing goes the way you think they should. When you talk of US President talking to North Korea, that is absolute nonsense. Everyone know why US tries to talk to that lunatic in NK. Canada talking to Colombia, it is due to trade packs and weather conditions. During winter Canada wants to have a flow of fruits and vegies from Chile and Colombia. The issue of Nigeria is different and well known. Like Zambia, the country is rich, the people are poor. Why? On the issue of FTJ, that man solved the economical problems Zambia was going thru. What did Levy do economically that was not FTJ’s program? The only thing Levy did was paint FTJ as a bad person and people like you bought into that.

  97. Africa for Africans, I support the move by RB though Im not his fan. I have been watching the relations ship between Nigeria and south Africa and I must commend them for the improvements in their business relationships both private and parastatal. Zambia can learn alot and embrace this opportunity.

  98. Business must be carried out by open minded persons and that is not what I ca attribute to alot of us Zambians. The Nigerians are formidable in their dealing becaause they are always a step ahead of others and this makes them appear sly.

They are simply jacked up as on is made to fend for one’s self in a country with apopulation of 40million plus. Just imagine that kind of population pa Zed. Wouldnt it make us jacked up too? We need N9ja to awaken alot Zambians to start thinking ouside the box.

  99. Imagine it was Sata who went for RBs summit, the whole world would laugh at us for choosing a LUNATIC for president.Even if RB is not good he is better than having a dictator(sata).

  100. I think ba free market capatalist you have missed it.First of all what is it that we can learn from nigeria at this time?If i were RB i could not make any move before sorting out the problems surrounding us;mealie meal is gone up,farming distribution must be monitored, job losses looming in the mines seek audience with mine owners…etc. There’s not much to learn frm nigeria besides their business is questionable.Their location on the map also can not favour zambia.RB is a moslem he has gone to wool moslem counterparts to come and steal from zedians.I wish this president could read btwn lines.

  101. Naiwe kanji # 150 Sata was not going to make his first oficial visit to Nigeria, Zambia is in a crisis and RB decides to go globe trotting. Nigeria of all countries for that mater. do you know the differnce in votes was 35000 that means only 2 % of zambians think like you.

  102. # 154, well said, no sane preisdent would venture out of the country without sorting out the internal problems. This is all UNIP mentality, look at KK he spent our resources on other countries and look at us now. Now this nyama soya decides to spend our little resources on flying to Nigeria.Nigeria is not a priority for Zambia right now. just as we are not a priority to them. we cant offer anything just as they cant do nothing for us.

  103. # 148 , Oppressed South Africa / nigeria is beneficial to both countries. South Africa exports to Nigeria and Nigeria exports to South Africa. But what can Zambia offer nigeria. we have almost nothing to offer that is why Nigeria is not a priority for us now. We will alwys end up on the losing side of all deals because we dont think but just jump at a name. We must research and be wise befoer we start flying like bats all over the show

  104. #155-158
Iwe John Kasai are you still alive?. The rumours at Katondo steet are that you died a few years ago from AIDS related complications.
Your friend Camillie alias Joseph Chinyanta is now in America, He Jumped bail in a case where he swindled some chinese in a fake cobalt deal. The other collegue of yours that Matyola boy also died last year from diabetes. Before his end he had amassed a lot of weath and was building in Chalala and chelstone. His young brothers are the one now driving around in his cars. Your young brother is still at Mukobeko for that armed robbery case.

  105. It’s all useless to be complaining about presidential trips because they are always on the agenda. The criteria used in picking the countries of destination as well as the dates of the trips are too confidential for the bloggers here to debate on. Just know that whether Nigeria or USA, there is neither aimless nor limited mobility for heads of state.
Ask the “insiders” and they will confirm this. Sometimes not even the Vice President knows the whole purpose of the trip.

  106. John Kasai you sound like a frustrated congolese masquarading as a Bemba. Leave RB alone iwe koswe. What crisis are u dreaming about.

  107. #115 AND 117 Ba Mirriam

Do not denigrate your relatives who contributed the few coins that enabled you to buy a ticket and fly to the USA.
Besides how do you expect them to build a decent house from the $50 dollars which you send every month. You should come and see the decent houses which your Zambian domiciled friends are building in Chalala you will die from shock. Just come back home. Dont wait until you have been heavily sexualy vandalised by those white perverts you consort with before you come back. Heed my advice.

  108. Ba kaamba ba Golyati, you are now spilling the beans. I am well and kicking. i just finished a stint in a harare jail that is why i was a bit quite apa pakati. But other wise i am alive. I am topping so ka AIDS is on the side line. I know about my boy Matyola. i was in jail but i got the message. Its a pity i cant help my little bro since i am hot pa Zed. But i know he will survive.Next time muli pa joburg give me a tinkle then we can link up and catch up.

    yours sincerely
    John

  109. iwe # 162 dont you know the whole world is in a crisis. Zambia is no exception,Unemployement is looming, copper prices are down, the kwacha is volatile, man if you dont call that a crisis then you need to get your head out of the you know what and look around you.By the way why are you xenophobic. Dont you know the real FTJ is fron Zaire. You and i are from the same so be cool.

  110. i wonder what the porfolio on trade is between Zambia and Nigria. Is RB going to start a new relationship or mending a broken one. We havent really had any real trade between us and Nigeria.I wonder where this one will take us.

  111. # 167 Sata is in control of the line of rail and that is where the business and development is.The inteliigecia, the rich and poor. RB is in control of the rural areas and who is in the rural areas? so Mr dont you go saying Sata’s supporters are useless. if they were they would have been in the rural areas drawing water from a well. But they are not.It is because of MMD that is why you are cocooned in the UK. Sata has been trying to empower Zambians like you so that you can have a choice wether to come home or not. Unlike now there is no choice you just have to be in the UK.

  112. who is that guy with bungle in the picture, is he the foreign affairs minister? Just looking at the picture i see chaos. RB is squeezed up what sort of red carpet hosting is this

  113. Anti shani bane?
RB know for sure ati takayipule 2011, so he has started ukuvyeta ulupia ment for poor mwa Zed. I will be coming first naya pa interz bus stasho to Kuku,

  114. #169 Tell them! They refused to enter Sata’s boat of patriotism. Instead they chose RB, who is now taking them for a hell cruise down the rapids of River Zambezi.

  115. #145. Kalos2020

“What did Levy do economically that was not FTJ’s program?”

Well let us look at the numbers. When Chiluba got the country in 1991, unemployment was at roughly 20%, inflation was controlled and the kwacha to dollar rate was reasonable.

When Chiluba was leaving the country, the dollar was trading at K5,000+, unemployment was at 50% and the inflation rate was at 32%.

LPM’s term, the kwacha was trading at roughly K3500, Unemployment reduced slightly and inflation was in a single digit. LPM has a bridge as a landmark of his legacy, what does Chiluba have?? LPM paved the roads and was building/finishing rail infrastructure which reduced below standard during Chiluba.

  116. #33 and 35 Both have missed the point. Zambian Presidents dont trust their ministers. They would rather go themselves to welcome even commoners like Ernest Angly at the airport period!!!!!

  117. We so pipo dying like flies in Chuchu’s time. Cholera na shiki in KK and FTJ we swa brutal killers who killed Wanza, Paul Tembo, Penza BUT UYU NYAMA SOYA WILL SEE MINISTERS DYING. they all shiki

  118. Kuku, AM cyber usa, ease, male m’sana wandalama, my friend pragmatists, HK, Sage, chapi, citizen ndi zima Ndola pa main-mine masala.

  119. Guys be serious with this topic. Why are u putting ba SATA in this?.Do u think SATA would have gone to Nigeria to seek advice when the country is in this crisis. He who comes into equity must come with clean hands.

  120. #178 Free- Market

That is the same question I have always asked PF supporters.
And I can gurantee you that I have never recieved any decent answer.

Can someone plus tell us in a concise way how Sata would have solved these problems?

  121. GOVERNMENT has signed a memorandum of understanding with a Nigerian Company, Design Union Developing, for the construction of a modern sub-urban community in Palabana at a cost of US$250 million. Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Commerce.source dailymail

  122. #180
umufyashi SATA can,t go kuma 999 (Nigerian)patu those guys are crooks and in the end they can just leave you with movie margic muleungweungwefye

  123. #181. GOLYATI

Even I dont understand how he could have done it but I will give you some typical answers you’re likely to receive.

-He is the man of action
    -He cares about the people
    -He is empowering the people
    -He knows
-He worked as the Minister of health
    -Pabwato
    -etc

In all these answers, you’ll never find a full explanation as to how he will solve problems. It is the same slogans over and over again.

  124. #137 Deeds, we are questioning the intergrity of the system, as long as these chaps making these arrests are appointed from state house justice will never prevail. There will be no professionalism and these guys will just be acting like robots, they will be directed whom to arrest and when to release them.

Deeds, You are right they never mentioned anything on outside travel and we know some guys get something like 3500USD per day. so we know how much they are paid for 2/3 days and that is not equivalent to a monthly salary of some hard working in GRZ.

  125. #182 FMC,I know because in that closed door meeting 1 week ago stugies advised him to do it,thats why he went with jeff kaande the man in that bungle.

  126. #179 Ba Jose
Bushe Nimweba ba original no munenu Kuku. I used to blogg with you under the name CITIZEN. I changed to GOLYATI after so many copy cats. Ni ngufwa ati tamulabuka mu bwato muckili ba main.

  127. #193. DEEDS

If it was a closed door meeting, how come the information leaked out and how come you know this information??

And why do you trust that the information given to you is credible??

  128. LELOLELO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    VJ THE ELECTION RIGGER.

IS TRUE THAT RB IS NIGERIA 4 SPECIAL PRAYERS.WHY SO SOON.

    VJ ANSWER.

YOU TOLD US THAT YOU ARE JUST A PRESIDENTIAL ADVISOR 4 ALL THE PRESIDENTS YOU HAVE WORKED WITH.

IS IT THE PROPHECY WE WERE TOLD ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHICH CAME FROM NIGEIRA?

POWER IS SWEET BUT GET POWER THROUGH A GOOD CHANNEL SO THAT OUR GRAND CHILDREN WILL SAY THEY HAD A GOOD GREAT LEADER EVEN WHEN THEY READ ABOUT HIM.UNLIKE LEARN THAT HE WAS SUCH A BAD LEADER.

    LELOLELO!!
    VJ
SEE THE TROUBLE YOU HAVE CAUSED.

20 BILLION KWACHA ON POLITICIANS AS SALARIES AND OTHER ALLOWANCES.THEY DO NOT DISCUSS THIER CONDITIONS OF SERVICE IN PARLIAMENT BUT 4 POOR WORKERS.

  129. # 178 one thing he could not have done was to go to Nigeria. Sata has always preached empowerment of Locals. Questioned riased salaries, and most importtantly he would have engaged the mining companies head on to see how they can save jobs.Going around the world is not going to solve our situation. each country is working on a home grown solution. USA is bailing itself out, china is doing the same. so i still dont see the need for us to go to a third world country to look for a solution for low copper prices and looming unemployement. Does that answer your question. I bet i make more sense to you than RB. Its a pity i am not a politician

  130. # 185 man Kunde thanx for the info, but still more this reception is not good. They seem squeezed with nowhere to go. i hope no one searched them

  131. @#200 JOHN KASAI

“Sata has always preached empowerment of Locals.”

OK, and how does he plan on empowering the locals?? What policy would he have implemented??

“and most importtantly he would have engaged the mining companies head on to see how they can save jobs.”

True. Here is a story from the dailymail. I will just give a snippet.

“PRESIDENT Banda says Government will engage mining companies to discuss how jobs in the mines can be saved in the midst of the fall in prices of copper and other metals on the world market.”

  132. Ba GOLYATI. That language is unpalatable on this forum.Tawaishiba ati ulukupa lulababa sana kuti ba Joze bakwata shani such a thing?.

  133. @157 John Kasai, Can YOU blame N9ja boys for being forward thinkers. I believe you have one good head on them shoulders and from what Ba “GOLI” has said about you, You are equal to the task when it comes to dealing with N9ja. So, from our vast resources, lets find something we can offer them. One of them being acting talent to improve our entertainment industry which sacks as the worst so far in a peaceful country. The other being construction of infrastructure which at the moment has no control in Zed. Building inspectors ust exist as rubber stamps, While N9ja has a strict building policy that ensures that building for commercial and residential infrastructur meet modern achitecture.

  134. Gentlemen ,how many cops did this RB of yours took to nigeria ?I can see more than 5 berets of ours plus a black one. Was it necessary?

  135. I notice the entourange does not include the Minister of agric. And yet we are after learning their Agricultural policies……… Or has the agric Minister
