RB unhappy with the MMD over the presidency

Share

President, Rupiah Banda, said he is not happy that some MMD members have chosen to discuss the issue of party presidency in public.

“To be honest , Iam not happy that the issue of the MMD presidency is being handled publicly,” President Banda said.

He said the issue of identifying a party leader should be handled internally.

President Banda was responding to questions from journalists on arrival at the Lusaka Internation Aiport from Abuja Nigeria, where he had gone for an official visit.

The plane carrying President Banda touched down at Lusaka International Airport at exactly 21:30 hours.

Vice President, George Kunda, Cabinet ministers and other senior government and MMD officials were on hand to receive the President.

During his visit to Nigeria, President Banda encouraged Nigerian and other west African investors to consider setting up businesses in Zambia.

Following a closed door meeting with his Nigerian counterpart, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua , President Banda disclosed earlier today that a number of financial institutions in Nigerian have already declared interest to invest in Zambia.

On the economic front, President Banda, said government is working hard to address the many problems affecting the country’s economy for the benefit of the people.

President Banda said government is aware of the effects that the slumping price of Copper on the international market would have on Zambia’s economy, hence is already implementing remedial measures among them, that of broadening the tax base.

“I am aware that the price of Copper on the international market has been reducing,” President Banda said.

He said the falling price of Copper on the global market, was just one of the many economic challenges Zambia was faced with, hence assured that government is working hard to address the problems.

  1. he looks like a baboon on the face tht’s why he’s inviting nigerian investors.
we don’t want them.Rb can look for investors in zambia. They’re people in zed who have $.Let them come together and have shares in one campany.we need local investors in our country!!

  2. Govt is aware of copper prices like anyonelse in zambia but what are you doing about the same.Shame papa you shud know when to woo investors and in which area is foreign investment required, not just starting off to anywhere as if its a dog that has smelt good food somewhere.Shame bwana presido.MMD is pathetic they dont even know what shud be done whether UNIP way or nt.

  3. Just look at your presented, arent you ashamed of him sure? he is very agly. dont even think of electing him again but anyway all the political presidents in zambia are agly. HH will be when he grows up like his friends.what do you think people?

  4. Why is he so concerned with MMD presidency.. Its not like he will run for a 2ND term!!!Let him tell us about what he intends to do with pressing issues such as lost jobs in the mines, Pathetic Hospitals, Hunger and the likes….

  5. By the way do you know you have freedom of expression and speech in zambia? pliz its a free country so express yourselves guyz.

  6. #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 I am sure you get a kick out of being negative for nothing. Forget about the election. Rupia won it and your ranting will change less than zero. Gp get a life

#9 and who do you think people want? Those who lost? Is your head on your shoulders or you are just having difficulty understanding democracy and the Zambian Constitution?

  7. # 18
why are you offended. Is RB your uncle or are you a job seeker. We are entitled to our own opinion. Olichipuba grow up

  8. We are all being unfair to RB by all of us wanting to see him grasp the issue of the slumping economy in the face of the world economic melt down. In the first place even if the economy was doing fine he was not going to do anything about it than concentrating on monopolising power within the MMD. Mind you RB is not a “true blue” we are told. So for the moment the gentleman is busy consolidating his hold unto the MMD leadership and loyalty. For now his preoccupation is more money in his pocket to use to bribe come 2011 so that he can get endrsements from the likes of Nawakwi and others desperate like Sikota and Nevers Mumba.

  9. yes mr Bwezani, its national issue, we want to know who the party president is. Please LT be sympathetic with the photo of the presdo,he looks as if he is coming out of the casket!!!!!!

  10. Teta has been warned.
By the way,the PF through Sata are already implying that the MMD govt. will not deliver their electrol promises merely because they are liars.
looking at the big picture, every leader including Obama has an upheal battle due to the world economic recession.
Shallow minds will blame RB for it or is it just cynicism?

  11. #18 I agree stop attacking RB’s personality. Let us just judge on how he runs this country. How you would feel if your wife had to read about how other people attack your looks? Come on guys wise up. You want a 70 year old man to look like a 20 something year old come on..leave the man alone.

  12. #27 I particularly reacted to the blogger who said that people don,t want RB.

Would you be kind enough to tell me who the people want?

  13. #30 the villagers want RB, the people in town/Northern/Luapula want Sata, and the people in Southern want HH. Have you not been following the news?

  14. #29 Ba changwa MULAMU, please tell me why I shouldn’t represent RB even when you Zombies are not making sense?

RB was asked the question about MMD by journalists. Don’t you thin he should express his feelings.

  15. #32 Don’t avoid the question. If people don’t want RB who do they want? Because RB had the majority according to our constitution?

In 2000 Al Gore had more people who voted for him than those who voted for George Bush. But george Bush won the Electoral College and became President. That is their constitution.

So who do the people want according to our consttitution.

  16. Pipo, pipo RB has droped his middle name and has replced it with LUNDANI so hez now Rupiah LUNDANI Banda, this is y prices of evrything are going up.

  17. #34 Please stop being childish. I only desire Zambians to debate in a manner that helps those who visit the blog.

I do off course recognise that they will see that we live in a free country and that is important to all of us.

  18. #35 KWA MUTANDA BANTU your question was who do the people want not what does the constitution say… The people want Sata like it or not

  19. #36/#38 I am afraid you have failed to reason. But here is some help. Ala Bashi chilufya lost the election.

Mwe ba Bemba banandi paseni ichililo. Abanensu have moved on. You can’t live on bitterness and hope to achive somthing constructive.

    Mwamfwa ba nkusa

  20. “akalimba kakwashima takapwa misango bwana.”you went into MMD THROUGH THE WINDOW.you were made veep and you think the “TRUE BLUE”ARE HAPPY?uletontonkanya iwee.they never give you the MMD PRESIDENCY.WHY?BECAUSE THEY KNOW IF THEY DO SO .YOU WILL START HAVING AMBITIONS FOR 2011 ELECTIONS.ONLY TETA IS ON YOUR SIDE.SO STOP CRYING ANDSTART WORKING.

  21. Pipo, pipo RB has droped his middle name and has replced it with LUNDANI so hez now Rupiah LUNDANI Banda, this is y prices of evrything are going up.So kulibe ku bweza ni ku lunda cheeee.

  22. #43, I think your problem is mathematics.

    Let me put it simply:
    RB votes > Sata Votes
    RB votes > HH votes
    RB Votes > Miyanda votes

    Therefore RB wins.
If you cant understand tha above go to Grade 7 or if you are in UK Junior School

  23. #45 Are you addicted to being negative. Sorry to disappoint you.

This is a free country and I can have an opinion which annoys you.

  24. Nyama Soya! What measures are you putting in place to address the ailling economy.Dont just say Govt is aware.
    Problem umazikomela mu state house

  25. #18,shant Mutanda Bantu. There are problems your president would have adrressed first.People retrenched on the copperbelt, more than 100 Unza students deregistered, meali meal prices very high, invisible fertiliser for K50,000.instead of solving these problems and many other problems,he just want an increament.Think in that empty tin called head of yours.

  26. Zambians,we must aswel foget abt ths so caled ‘govt’ of chi nyama soya doing o changing anythng apart frm their own lives,i c us slowly goin towards zimbabwe situation..ths man is always saying he is aware,bt he neva does anythng abt it,instead he js dozes,i pity our country, are we cursed surely!!

  27. ##55 You are making sence, not like those saying pipo want Sata when he lost. That is insane.

You are discussing issues and you become an asset for the country.

  28. The problems that are facing this country resulting from thw world economic trends are way above the comprehension and capacity of Micheal Sata. He believes in quick fix solutions which are not sustainable.

Making Sata President is like making a driver managing Director of a company because he is a good driver.

  29. #53 get real and not dwell on petty issues you know for sure that RB is not a popular president he was rejected by
the cream of this country. He has a lot of issues to sort out in his own party he is not a”True Blue MMD”.It was clear that Sata has more command of the people in the country, because he is supported by the intellectuals.Come 2011 you will see with your RB i am contesting Parliamentary and i can assure you that i will win the seat and deliver the vote to my president of course not RB.Uli mubemba wakwisa iwe wine limbi uli kasai wa ku Congo?
    .

  30. Sata is not a suitable candidate. PF will always be in opposition as long as they continue fielding Sata. The majority of Zambians have said this for more than three times. Nothing will change that.

  31. Fantancy and illusions dont easily rub off from some people. Sata lost and if he wants to lose for the fourth time, let him stand again in 2011.

  32. #56 Pumpy
Remove it and replace it with your picture picture?

Looking at you , people cant tell the back from your front. Who ever looks at your face is reminded of a traditional healer.

You should see pictures of RB in his youngerdays. He was what in Ngoni we call “CHÏPAZUBA”.

  33. To be honest Ba RB…You can’t like this matter being discussed in public because you feel rejected. They used you to secure and prolong their Cabinet portfolios and now that they have them, they might as well throw you out. The debate about MMD Presidency is a sign that Akulu Mpuno you have over stayed your welcome. MMD now belongs to ‘TRUE BLUE’ any one short of that should Kiss their $$$$$$ good bye. Isn’t humiliating that they are quarreling about the portfolio while you are seated in the highest office in the land. IT VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE! Actually, it implies that they don’t even feel as though you are competent enough to feel the Vacancy. We warned you that TETA is a nuisance see now

  34. Nigerian investors? My foot. Zambia will be a playground for money launderers. the 419 conmen will be stealing money elsewhere and laundering it in Zed. Chenjelani ndi mbala a Banda.

  35. Zambians be warned. These so-called Nigerian investors we are involving ourselves with, wina azalila! The only trusted Nigerian is a dead one. Mark my words. These guys will disappear in vain after plundering the country.

  36. Baby C how are you.Hope you are fine am gud.You guys do you think Zambia has a president? Anywa let me not talk to much just want to greet baby C. Am gone bye!

  37. The utter and unbelievable trust on one SATA by PF cadres is shocking to say the least. How on earth has he achieved this on his supporters! Some of the worst trends by PF cadres is the thought of comparing SATA to SENATOR and PREISIDENT IN WAITING OBAMA.

This is what drives some of us nuts!

  38. #67 Pumpy

What ecenomic backbone are you talking about? Dont you know that while Sata was serving a prison term for theft at Mukobeko in Kabwe in 1961, RB was being confered a degree in Agriculture Economics.

Just ask Sata to explain what Inflation means and you will have the whole sick from laughter. Sata does not even understand the income multiplier effect.

  39. #72 ati the only trusted nigerian is a dead one..thts a krazy 1..tho true, even in sthafrika they are nt trustd, wnda wat ths buffon has sn n them to ask them and evn cal them investors.

  40. mr president are you still dozing ?do things your own way dont allow chiluba to mis lead you, let him go to prison .

  41. Golyati you behave like a Robot as it you have been programmed to support MMD even when you can see that they have no plan whatsoever, anyway i forgive you maybe you got a brown envelop because if you did, it has corrupted your objectivity and no matter what anyone says it will be very difficult to convince you otherwise. You are a lost cause in short.

  42. Mbumwae, no wonder now you are looking for Nigerian investors. what a shame for zambia, im glad that im not zambian. Honestly look at your president, are you people proud of him, i think sats was going to be beter but he wanted to chase us so its good that he lost so that we continue enjoying your money with our fake products. freedom of speech is nice.

  43. #83 Pumpy
Pumpy I must confess that I have always been a UNIP Sympathiser.

A fair question Pumpy who better understands economic issues Sata or RB ?.

And while at it just explain to me in a very simple and clear way how Sata was going to put more money in our pockets. Please educate me.

  44. No wonder topics tend to bend towards tribe because besides the issue of tribe, there is no other logical explanation for SATA’s support.

  45. We should start thinking of the next president Now!
-Not akhulu Mpuno- why do we have to go back to UNIP ERA?
-Not George Kunda, he cannot leader, Leadership qualities Zero; he is a chancer
-Tentamashimba – Purpet and no focus
-Katele can try but could be found in two places at the same time drinking manzi and police going round him without actually seeing him.
Therefore Namulambe can be a good young presidendt!

  46. We should start thinking of the next president Now!
-Not akhulu Mpuno- why do we have to go back to UNIP ERA?
-Not George Kunda, he cannot lead, Leadership qualities Zero; he is a chancer
-Tentamashimba – Purpet and no focus
-Katele can try but could be found in two places at the same time drinking manzi and police going round him without actually seeing him.
Therefore Namulambe can be a good young presidendt!

  47. Kwa Mulila Bantu, stop being fanatical and confrontational for nothing.Any sane person can kuti akhulu mpuno has no plan.Let him tell us how he expects Zambia to ride the economic wave amidst this globa financial tsunami. For example he can talk about GRZ buying the copper and stockpile coz,the price will be on the upswing.Besides, this the rainy season, let him embark on an agressive tobacco, and cotton production for this season to mitigate the short fall in forex as a result of relatively low copper prices.

  48. People take offence when one articultes real issues about SATA’s incapacities and unfitness to be President. Without wanting to be rude, why should the people choose a grade 4 over an Economist. You have a chance between an Economist and grade 4 and PF say a grade 4. What!

  49. Presidents are chosen by the People and election time will tell who our next President will be. Do people surely think that in one month everything can be done? No wonder PF think SATA could change everything in 90 days! You PF losers, get over it, your Sata lost and stop crying over it. Grow up.

  50. PF suporters why are you concerned about MMD. you seem to wish to know more about MMD yet the MMD members dont seem to care how your party constitution or menifesto looks like or who you intend to filed in 2011 and how old that person is. you guys in PF seem to know the whole MMD NEC yet the MMD guys are not interested in knowing who is in the PF central commitee. can someone help me with a reason why this is so.

  51. Dont talk against Sata, that is stepping on my toes.you are getting on my nerves.I dont want to be commenting but when you touch Sata,am forced to comment.RB,i dont know if that man knows what he is doing.I have been appealing to this government, to allow more than 100 unza students to write exams, how do you derigester students like that. But all what i have been saying has been faling on deaf ears.RB just want an increament on his Salary.Leave Sata alone plz.

  52. What is the logic here? If an economist has challenges in facing the economic hurdles we as a nation are facing, how will a grade 4 be able to face the challenges with no iota of sense and capabillity? Mind boggling!

  53. BA Chewe
just come back… You cant stay away from all the discussions going on.. Anyway miss your contributions… Good or bad comments.. it doesnt really matter, You are entitled to your opinoin, You have a right to express yourself… Am sure you are diying to do so… Come back!!!!!!

  54. If u want sata just die coz he ‘ll neva rule here in zed maybe in hell . Come 2011 he ‘ll need a walking stick if he ‘ll not be in hell .

  55. #101

    Iwe Mwenye,

What choice did I have between a Grade 4 and an Economist? You are telling me that I should be blamed when my whole mind without a shadow of doubt demands me to be logical in decision making.

What do I have to hesitate to tell you that of course I would choose an economist over a Grade 4. You see stating the obvious is very painful for others who choose to ignore logical thinking.

  56. #52#70 MMD divided, quarelling? May be you should be reminded that Sata and PF are only operating with half of their MPs. The other half has rebelled from his ignorance and dictatorial tendecies.
#65 I believe by creame you mean yourself.Don’t be pompous you are just a zombie up to now you have not woken up to the fact that Sata lost. You want to go to Parliament? There will be many free constituencies from rebel MPs. When you know Sata you will also rebel as i told some of the current rebels. What Bemba I am(uli chitongo wintulila ng’oma nemwine yaba ne milimo)
#72 Nigeria has a population of 150 million. You cant even imagine that

  57. Nyama soya where is thandi??????????????? can some one advise me. Morever we in MMD dont want you. Yu came through the window. So we want somebody so energetc to be our part President. If i was Mrs Nyama soya i would advise him to step down and morever pipo where he lives never voted for him. And all security defence forces vote for Sata only cheat villagers want him because of sugar he gave him. UBUBI Chikamba uyu. 2011 Either Magande or Chrwa if not i will Vote for SATA

  58. Had Sata won the Presidency he would not have had a bloated cabinet as is the case today, and that in itself would have translated into a saving by the State.

  59. I challenge anyone who believes that it would make wise and logical sense to choose a Grade 4 over an Economist. This is just mind boggling!

  60. If Sata retire i will VOTE for Lubinda i like this guy. Please lets giv him support. And by the way HH ans sata are working on the formation of a coalition manifesto to be one part oppositionEven this political prositition has been invited and mR intellingent Miyanda though he cant feel ashamed. So watch out MMD we are coming. Lets encourag them.

  61. Nigerian investors, nima kuluku & that’s what makes RB look sad because he has already started to see how Zed will be smacked behind by Nigeria.

  62. LT, Why place a 1993 caption of RB in detention at Nyumbayanga Police post as if you cannot access his current photos? I have recalled this one because i i did interrogate him for 48 hours during chiluba’s illegal cooked up Zero option raid when he wanted to criple UNIP.The state lost that case and all framed up victims RB inclusive were paid a total of ZK 11 billion among all by the Mwanawasa administration. Its sad that the life of Cuthbert Ng’uni was lost.

  63. No. 83 Pumpy; Pumpy you behave like a Robot as it you have been programmed to support PF even when you can see that they have no plan whatsoever, anyway i forgive you maybe you got a Satanic envelop because if you did, it has corrupted your objectivity and no matter what anyone says it will be very difficult to convince you otherwise. You are a lost cause in short.

  64. On this issue of who I would choose between agrade 4 and an Economist, I am so settled in mind and it is as clear as the blue sky on a cloudless summer day. No iota or shadow of doubt, nothing like benefitting anything. Perhaps the only benefit I have is the benefit of logical reasoning. There not so many issue to work out to arrive at who I would choose between a grade 4 and an Economist.

  65. Okey sorry to say this but it true, he looks like he is so much pressed with call of nature, and he cant wait to answer.Oh my God,

  66. When are we going to see RB in LSK & KT LP and northern province. Dont you think any thing can happen for the majority in urbun where he lives dont like him even its good has confirnce in MMD. But if i can meet him i tell you we will die 2gether. am not scared of anything. RB watch out just resign and for the suffering of Pipo of Zambia you will be answerable oredy VJ , VIP etc are facing the rather of thier deeds. Where is Mulongoti RB you just make Thandi at an early stage a widow. You store Sata Votes. Whaether you like it pipo will never like you. if Mwanawasa,s spirit could rise defiantely he is not happy. I tel yuo when i met Maurren the favourite were Sata and Mangande.

  67. #110 Anonymous

Be respectifull to Mr Sata. one PF member told me that when voting they look at MR Sata as a man with a Humble education as opposed to a grade 4 drop out.As regard to Mr sata being an ex convict he prefers looking at it like an ex Freedom fighter or political prisoner. So when Mr sata said more money in your pockets Zimbabwe was still OK and pipo dint Know what more money in your pocket can do. i.e Get 20 billion salary per month and pay 10 billion for a hair cut. its still more money in your pocket not so?? So annonymous i prfer you say freedom fighter with a humble education than G 4 dropout even if we all know that he is a grade 4 droput and an ex convict on theft charge

  68. RB, surely, we cant look up to Nigeria for investors. Why do they not invest in their country if they are genuine. I smell a rat.

  69. #108 Don’t Sata’s parrot. A President has to balance the country in a nation like Zambia otherwise you have political problems like Somalia where even educated people look like folls or have to run away.

Your Sata believes in nothing. Consider
He never supported Magande – now fired he supports him
He never liked chines when Taiwan stopped funding him, now supports He supported Chiluba’s third term
He took thugs to Mulungushi to keep miyanda ans christon out
He was a criminal convict in Bwana Mkubwa prison when RB & VJ were fighting for independence. Should I go on?

  70. Pumpy Iam still fresh, I am im my mid 3o’s but age has got nothing to do with wisdom and understanding of issues.

We have known of seventy year old men like Sata without Wisdom and the understanding of issues.
And we have known of young men like Tobias Mulimbika with the wisdom of old men.

  71. #118 When CGHIIII
it could be true Maurren favourite was Sata or Magande and then the Voters favourite was Rupiah Bwezani Banda. So advise all those that have lost that next time make sure you are the voters favourite as opposed to maurrens.

  72. #117& #118 are saying the truth. RB pipo you are leading dont like you. Just think of beloved guy at state house compound where he stays never Vote for him. And i would give sponsorship to Father Frank bwalya and radio Ichengelo to continue its programmes of telling the Nation of the out come. And emphasis that pipo dont want RB and he is forcing himself to rule us. And if he is not given by our God you see what will happening him. Gods doesnt like pipo who are wrong doers. FR frank i will Vote for you if your church can allow you and stand up die for many porr Zambians. just have a walk in the shants town centers and see who pipo are suffering and how many am i going to help.

  73. In MMD there is good democracy. People are able to tell that there is some disagreement in MMD whenever such happens because of the mature principles of the party. They are able to admit that they have issues to resolve whenever such exist. This is unlike the PF which is a perpetual confrontational party. I dont know whather we have leadership structure in PF or we have only the driver and the conductor. Even the front passenger Guy Scott has realised that objectivity is important. People cannot see any problem with PF because they are now used and have known that fights are a lifestyle for PF. But for MMD, it surprises everyone when differences arise because that is not the order of the day

  74. The obviousness of the matter is such that plain explanations tend to sound and feel like insults. The basic idea that reason would be overtaken by rhetoric rantings of those that are quick to use every vice and tool to hoodwink is highly obnoxious. The attempt to simply state the obvious and warn agaisnt the sheer ineptitudeness, blind and cheap loyalty to Politicians plying cheap rhetorics as SATA is and has been one interesting and, should I say, confusing journey/ experience.

  75. Latest

Iam told for 2011 MMD will not campagn in Northern, Luapula and copperbelt because those people will always vote for Sata even in 2016 when he will be in the 80s or even after he dies for as long as if he can be on the ballot. iam told this will serve a lot of money for the party since MMD can still Win an election without these provinces. Moreover if they can do well in southern it can even be a landslide since the population of southern is almost equal to northern and luapula combined. So are you guys in these provinces always going to be in opposition.

  76. #129 You should be FINEST. Please don’t waste your breath on PF Zombies. They are just bodies being controlled by a former theft convict. The have no brains other they would have understood the simple message that Sata lost.

Truthfully if we want a Bemba to go to State House, we should first agree on a candidate who is acceptable to other tribes in Zambia. Even if HH joins Sata as VP the Tongas will not vote for Sata. They would rather vote for RB. And who cana blame them. Ala natuchinje amano ba yewe. We are pushing agains a wall.

  77. African leaders must learn not to reinvent the wheel. Why cant we follow what is being done by others who are facing similar problems? Instead of increasing their inflated salaries, President Nyama Soya, and his cabinet, must set the example by cutting their salaries, as Kafupi(?) and Kavindele once did. Since all the soya meat he is chewing at Plot One and the tailor-made clothes are paid for by the taxpayers, why cant he reduce his salary to K100? Imagine the celebrations that will reverbrate in Zambia? Imagine how many CEOs and MPs will follow his example? Wake up, Nyama, dont follow those Nigerian crooks, they’ll give you black dollars!!

  78. Fellow Zambians let move forward, RB was already declaired Presdo. so let move on, what suddens me most is our GRZ’s approach to the food issues. Less than 6 month after LPM’s death we want to start importing maize again. What a shame, if truly levy’s Admini brought stability to our maize production then why are we in this situation? This simply tells that he was either running affairs as a one man show, or their where no systems in place.

  79. LT, at least you should have the professionalism of giving some detail about a story instead of just putting as a headline a story that we dont have a background to. This story is an example. Let is know who was complaining or talking about the MMD presidency in public.

  80. The Zambian constitution says that any one qualifies to stand for President as lon ag;
    1. He is a Zambian with a Green Nationa Registration Card
    2. His parents were born in Zambia
    3. Is above 35 yaers of age
    4. Has got no criminal record. No conviction on acriminal offence

Sata is a convicted criminal who has served a jail sentence.
We must bar him from contesting by using this clause.

  81. #132 Anonymous.

i think ananymous’s question deserves an answer why should a sound mind choose a grade 4 against an economist to run the economy of the country. how will the investors local, indiginous and forein have comfidence in such an ecomomy. For as long as you PF people cant answer this question you will never convince anyone with a sound mind to contribute to PF financially and morally in 2011. you will always be suported by broke kaponyas in urban areas with no voters cards because they either lost there NRCs or they have never had one. and they whole campagn will be a one man show as usual.

  82. #137 Pumpy
The truth is you do not know, even Sata himself does not know.

You were just parroting the slogan ‘”more money in your pockets”‘

    Like most PF cadres

  83. Pipo,Satas Level of education and understanding of issues is clear for all to see that he is indeed a grade 4. The way he articulates himself and behaves leaves a lot to be disired. One minute he is in gear one the next he is in five. It bogles me to find that they are some pipo who really support his nonsence with all thier hearts and souls. Thats not to say that Nyama Soya is the right person to have as president but at least he does not apear to be chaotic and unstable like Sata..

  84. #110 I hate people who think like you. You are the same people let zambia down, you believe its only educated people who can run or invest in the country. Judge people on their knowledge, reasoning and wisdom and thats whats makes a man. Let me tell you something educated people are slaves of uneducated people. Uneducated persons dreams to own a business while an educated person seeks to get a job in that business. Do you think all these big companies collapsing should be surving when they are being run by educated people like you?. Uneducated man starts something then the educated comes in to fail him. The worlds richest people don’t own masters or PHDs but they control a 1/4 world’s money.

  85. I have tried very much to try and use words that would not be offensive to PF cadres about thier SATA but the sheer facts onthe ground make it difficult to use the available facts about SATA without attracting reaction from his suppoters. For instance, I believe it is offesive to try and demean ones educational status and cheapen them for that matter. It is offensive, but that is not my intention at all. The fact that this same person who is a grade 4 drop out was attempting to voted as President of the nation brings in the necessary cause to question his abillity. His lack of education is one which points to his inabillity and needs to be pointed out. Not just for the sake of it.

  86. Mwalichula bena zambia but. You will never prosper because you all very stubborn people. im a foreigner and i think the majority wants SATA but its good that villagewrs are ruling zambia cause i think sata was going to chase us. continue fighting while villagers rule you and continue suffering

  87. Rb is trying to educate some chaps in MMd that certain issues concerning the “family” must be handled within before the neighbours know. An on the question asked by the journalsit, to me I feel that is why the media need to be regulated so that they even learn what questions to ask at a particular time. An in all fairness RB was just responding to a query period.

  88. You are talking nosense RB,concetrate on dealing with the internal problems that the country is facing such as job loses than bringing fake Nigerian investors.Prove to those of us who did not vote for you that you can perfom and deliver the promises you made during campaigns, otherwise mealie-meal is still at K75,000.00 per B/F bag and our salaries have not been adjusted to meet our needs but you are happy with your increased perks.Oh Christ Jesus save us through your servant Michael Chilufya Sata Amen.

  89. Any attempt to lessen and downplay or overlook SATA’s weaknesses for the sake of the ‘feelings of PF’ supporters will not achieve the intended objective. For instance, about his grade 4 issue, should we say ‘our undeservedly hancapped yet sharp and intelligent Sata’ when we could sim0ply say a grade 4? I think that would be insulting. Should we say he was frustrated by the lack of sense by the majority to give him a chance at the Presidency, when we mean he lost? I am mauless.

  90. You know what, even villagers know the importance of education so much because they spend all they have to send their children to go to school. Now, for them to hear that a mere grade 4 is standing for presidency they simply get sick. That is why SATA cannot win the village vote. In town it is easy because of desparation and the fellow grade 4 kaponyas who want their colleage. Otherwise I salute villagers for understanding the value of education such that they do everything possible to keep SATA away.

  91. Stereotypes: Nigerians are crooks. So when people say Zambians are lazy and are th Caucasian boot lickers, we should be happy with that. Simple mindedness shown by some Zambians is disgusting. We should be trying to do business with other Africans instead of always the thinking the West is good. I have never met people who are ashamed of their race and colour, who would rather be taken advantage of and be treated like 2nd class citizens by other people instead of trying to promote success amongst their own people.

This nonsense has made me decide to de-register myself from Lusaka Times. I do not want to associate myself with such close minded, ignorant people.

  92. Imwe pampy, how do you know your friends` wife is pregnant,is his lifesyle that transperent like in USA…..
    there are krazy contributions today

  93. Eeeeeek, SHREK!!!!Sata our real President is better looking by far, look at what zambia has for president. Long live Sata, Viva PF, Pabwato for Life.

  94. Suppergal. I have got eyes i can see for myself i do not need a Press Conference to tell me that this person is pregnant. Shaa

  95. #150-153 Pumpy and you Brother Steve

While you are still busy extolling your saviour Ex-convict Micheal Chilufya Sata to save you, How is he going to put more money in our pockets ,please answer and may you be delivered of your ignorance.

  96. Golyati,
Non of Satas supporters can ever, ever explian to you how Sata was going to put money in our pockets.Because even himself cant explain it , He just babaiekers and becomes defensive when asked… So believe it… when we say he is a grade 4 drop out!!!!He doesnt understand issues!!!

  97. LT change post something new mwee! Staying too long on the same subject in the same mode of delivery will finally send bloggers into the MEGO state (My Eyes Glaze Over).

  98. You as an employer have an opportunity to choose between two candidates of an interview for the Post of Accountant in your firm. (A)One candidate is FCCA, FIMA and BA economist. The (B)other a Form Five (FOR SENSITIVE READERS SAKE). Who do you choose?

    PF says B! Whatttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  99. out of 100 richest africans 90 are Nigerians…..poor Zambians you steal in thousands $$$ your friends steal in Millions$$$$. These guys are coming to open Banks and cement factories ….in Zed just eat Kapenta and vitumbuwa ….oh!!!!

  100. Go hang with Sata. Bemba criminals are so bitter. Sata is dying anytime. No chance. Just be happy to be ruled by the Ngoni boy.

and you chaps who think RB is ugly….wait until you yourself is 70 yrs and we shall c how handsome you will be. …Your own father looks like a monkey….

  101. Ala, ni ma secret yanji yamene mufuno kubisaa akulu mpuno????
Just say that you have failed to run the country coz u can even gain the momentum of your so called party cadres ati members!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  102. The reasons given by Lumwana Mining managing director, Harry Michael in his affidavit filed in the Lusaka High Court seeking a protective relief against ZESCO switching him off are not only ridiculous but insulting to this country. As though to add salt to injury, a Zambian high court judge rescuses herself from handling the case for so called ethical reasons, my foot. Such mercenary treachery ati mukuwa anilate stinks, this cow should have her volumptuous bottom uprooted from the bench, she stinks to the very heavens above. Let Harry give her a job, our ZESCO power is not for free baba.

  103. # 170. Welcome to the real world.

Let me say this and please please listen.

The moment you get donations from the business community as a party is the moment you become ineffective. There is nothing like free lunch.

Have you ever tried to think of why some of these businesses mistreat, underpay, insult our people even when there is a government in place?

  104. ““To be honest , Iam not happy that the issue of the MMD presidency is being handled publicly,” President Banda said.

He said the issue of identifying a party leader should be handled internally.”

This is good, but how was his his very own Presidential Candidacy bid held? Those who has spoken well are people of Mabenga’s calibre who dont panic but issue sensiblee messages to the MMD as a party.

President RB Banda’s talking about going it the MMD presidency by internal means is very positive though.

  105. 86. GOLYATI kalale you have no brains in case you didnt know the only UNIP that exists now is Mr. Visionless RB asked on what was his vision for the country he answred quote “i need to sit with cabinet on that one” are these the kind of chaps in state house?

  106. #166. your flag Anonymous, you asked “You as an employer have an opportunity to choose between two candidates of an interview for the Post of Accountant in your firm. (A)One candidate is FCCA, FIMA and BA economist. The (B)other a Form Five (FOR SENSITIVE READERS SAKE). Who do you choose?”

If you are selfish and stingy, you will give (B) the job.

However, if you have your business venture at heart to return profits, you will only choose the qualified (A) man/woman for the job without having a second look at option (B)’s CV for this will be time wasting.

This is why I do not consider the Undereducate for Zambian President any more and writing about him is wasting precious time.

  107. HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK

    1. Open a new file in your computer.

    2. Name it “Rupiah B. Banda S.C”.

    3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.

    4. Empty the Recycle Bin.

    5. Your PC will ask you. “Do you really want to get rid of
    ” Rupiah B. Banda S.C?”

    6. Firmly Click “Yes.”

    7. Feel better?

    Tomorrow we’ll do Robert Mugabe

  108. The monkeys at lower braches laugh at the monkeys at the top branches when they look up and see what they see.

One day, when the lower monkeys rise to levels above, the ones they will leave behind will continue to laugh at the ascended ones.

Untill the monkeys ascending upwards learn to weave coverings for their bare ‘behinds’, those that remain below will ever laugh at their superior brothers.

  109. Fellow bloggerrs let us be fair with RB, we should not be mocking him over his looks. To me what matters is his leadership qualities. Those who are passing bad comments about RB’s face are like white racists who hate us for being black.Let us learn to accept that God created us differently.I wish LT could allow us to post our faces, as bloggers, on this site. Then we would know those who live in glass houses who are throwing stones at RB.

  110. “Vice President, George Kunda, Cabinet ministers and other senior government and MMD officials were on hand to receive the President.”I am wondering whether this practice of the whole Cabinet especially our Vice President is perfect or good for our country Zambia in terms of National Security.Do Dick Cheney (sp) and/or Mrs C. Rice line up in numbers at an airport to receive President George Bush whenever he is coming back Washingtone from somewhere in the US or abroad?May, the US is too advance for an analogy, does someone know what whether Malawi or Botswana perform this practice of the Cabinet receiving their President when he is coming from somewhere? Please, advise for this is critical.

  111. #183. your flag UNDERTAKER, while I appreciate your comments, I however, think that the whites are actually good people who are willing to see us develop. Maybe I have been mixing with them at an advance intellectual level, but the brothers and sisters, whites, are great people regarding who they treat me.I strongly know that your the “like white racists who hate us for being black” is misplaced and unfair to our white people in partnership and development. What I know is that most of we as blacks have an inferiority complex which makes us lower ourselves down thinking that the whites belittle us. What I have seen is that we ourselves disappoint them whites by our ways of working.

  112. One thing for sure is that RB is more educated than the so called Sata and we all know this. Sata only has a form 2 certificate and he bribed a friend to write an exam for him.

  113. Wow!If cadres are still this bitter 1 month after the loss,I wonder how their vanquished leaders have been feeling.Ichikonko chilepaya bane.Come back to reality. He may not be as handsome as your fathers, husbands or uncles(whom I guess are far more handsome going by your comments)but that man up there is right now the most powerful human being in Zambia and if he so wishes he can even declare war 2nite with Banyamulenge of Congo! And most of these women fronting on this board that RB is ugly are probably even wishing(in their solitude hours)that they were in Thandiwe Banda’s shoes as a young 1st lady but thanks to the internet coz we can pretend to be what we’re NOT anytime using a keyboard!

  114. 190. your flag UNDERTAKER, ok and keep well.
189, according to Minister Mulongoti, I think in the Times of Zambian Newspaper, the Undereducate only went upto Standard 6, according to Mulongoti’s GRZ records, which might be equivalent to Grade 4 since there was SUB A and SUB B according to my mother in that Standard education system.

    I am out now.

  115. #185, did you do comprehension at school? A Grade 7 will tell you that my comment #183 does not label all whites as racists. The comment simply indicates that there are some whites who are racists. You should consider my line of arguement in 183.

  116. Those of us who work underground in the mines can say “we lost the election & the so called investor won” we sweated and produced wen the price of copper was high… what did we get in return… nothing… these guys neva paid a cent to purchase the mines in chingola… the built the smelter and KDMP with the same mane got from the sale of copper… no one speaks for miner coz even the unions have been silenced… RB knows wat we are going thru… believe me he do nothing… NOW we are been retrenched.

  117. #191,Maestro Hhehhehhehhe . I have withdrwan my comments in 192.I have just read your understanding of my line of arguement.

  118. The best thing RB can do for Zed is set up some investment fund in Zambia for Zambians… let Zambians start investing in their country. What will a nigerian do for Zambia and were will they invest anyway…. START OIL EXPLORATION IN CHAMA? SO THAT WE CAN HAVE CHEAPER FUEL?

  119. Roughly 1068 days to go before the 2011 elections. What practical and positive impact have you and i had today to ensure that all the Zambian citizens are empowered to elect a competent, best performing government that will deliver on their promises and serve the Zambian citizens ? You and i can make a difference and make Zambia a better place by empowering all the Zambian citizens to vote wisely and vote on merit.

  120. firstly could the person using my blog name – shushushu notice it is registered and has been so for the past year.
RB better be carefull how he runs GRZ, he will end up like FJT. Prior to his visit to Nigeria, his sons or one of them was in Nigeria talking to potential busines partners.

  121. No. 116 Pumpy. It is pathetic that you seem to be very willing to dish it out but when the very same tables are turned they become “stinkers” and you can’t take them. I think I have made the moral point that you should not dish out what you can’t take. Grow up and become more rational and civil.

  122. He said the falling price of Copper on the global market, was just one of the many economic challenges Zambia was faced with, hence assured that government is working hard to address the problems.

kutiwaseka, address the problem how???? is he going to increse the copperprices. Thats the problem of depending on extenal factors for your economic growth.

  123. Most of you wasteful on time you need to break your curses of family poverty were born in poverty, grown in hopelessness with parents who have been failures from the day they were born even when opportunities came many with UNIP which saw many smart people like RB and his Banda brothers, Mwanakatwes, Nalumino Mundia, Dingiswayo Banda, Daniel Lisulo,The Chonas,Mudendas,Gibson Chigaga,Brig.General Dr Manuwele, Brig.General Anos Haimbe,Ft Lt.General Hananiya Lungu,Ft.LT General Peter Zuze,Pat and Puta, Abraham Mokola,Wilima brothers use the opportunities and excell when your fathers like you were busy insulting.

  124. Hey people is this the forum for insults? If you cannot write constructive issues why can’t just keep away from such? Please the Editors of this paper do not allow such. We in diaspora need to contribute/know real issues. Lets build and not destroy.

  125. # 205. Pumpy

I was trying to react to the credit crunch, only to find some with my name.
Gents RB is a handsome hippo, leave his looks alone.

  126. Right now there is a riot in Jos, one of the major town in Nigeria, just because one candidte lost a Governorship election. The town is on fire, people are fighting!!

Is that a country where u are seeking help RB surely????????,
Pliz pliz pliz RB dont bring Zambia into disrepute??? The Nigerians are failing to govern themselves ???? what investment will they broing in the country, raping women, frauad, fighting and robbery?. Am disappoint with you Mr president, for time, i dont feel proud to be Zambian bcoz of RB.

Soorry bloggers, am out of topic but am very annoyed with RB on the Nigerian issue!!

  127. Rupiah Banda, like the devil, is a liar and a deceiver, and nothing good can come out of the devil. If Banda wanted to associate with people who are likely to be honest, he should have gone to Ghana instead of dining with Nigerian thieves and criminals.

  131. #212 + 213
You’re boring!!!- Don’t you have anything to do??? This is not a cellphone for those funny stuff of yours- we’re fed up with them- atase!! you’re finishing our space here, ala!!! ichibeleshi!!!

  132. #217. Offbar

“Can someone answer me to why we (in Africa) have mostly ugly leaders except for the Tanzanian Kikwete??? Aren’t there any handsome guys to join politics???”

Your ignorance is the reason why.

  133. Condemn me if you want, but it still cant sink in me that this man is our new president. Hes got lots to do to convince the lot of people such as me!

  134. Juliana Taiwo
    Abuja

Zambian President, Rupiah Bwezani Banda, on his first foreign trip since he came into power in October, yesterday requested for Nigeria ‘s assistance to tackle effect of the global economic crisis on his country’s economy.

This is as President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua said despite the stalemate in Zimbabwe’s peace talk over power-sharing, the progress recorded deserves commendation.

Banda, in a joint press conference with Yar’Adua at the foyer of the Presidential Villa, told State House Correspondents that the global financial crisis has hit Zambian’s economy to the extent that the price of its main commodity which is copper, had come down to $3,300 from $8000 per to

  135. For God’s sake you pf supporters you amaze me alot. This Sata is a grade 4 drop out, a prisoner, You want south African police or Interpo to be following us looking for a president a (thief) Even if Alibulafwe as you say in Zed in tems of thieves please. Can’t you remember the money they confiscated from him in south Africa when he was number three in Chiluba Government? Thank God he did not win the elections and Rb won. Sata will never win and he is even scared to pass through south Africa whenever he is going out somewhere. Sorry if you support Sata just join the clock my dear for Rb.

  136. Let us be fair enough here the whole cabinet has nothing to do apart from receiving RB please with this Expensive fuel in Zed. We need servings for Bunga please.

  137. Give RB a chance , he is far much better than that horrible man called senseless kingcobra, who went to malawi to seek investors

  138. Dear blogger Easy…don’t assault Zambian people, you know how Zambian leader have been corrupt , robbing Zambia even the least they have …the people you have mentioned were true patriotic of Zambian, can you give an example to the blogger the corruption levels in Kaunda govt and the FTC leadership…

You’re not setting a good example, on how we can defend the poor and awaken our leaders to be responsible to country we love. Though we are not home we love our country and it’s people.
In case you have not worked in Zambian govt, let me assure you that there is chaos in the leadership right now…and future for Zambian is very blink. If the faithful will not pray.I only hope you change.

  139. There is absolutely no comparison between Sata and RB. Sata can claim to entertain but he has little or no substance in his comical words and antiques. When I travel to Tanzania, I always listen to the news where they describe him as a noise maker who could rake trouble in their favourite neighbour Zambia. No names are mentioned but you know who they mean. Chiluba never had a friendly relationship with Tanzania because they always called him a sisal cutter. How can he be president? Let us treasure our brains – Zambians are brainy with prominent foreheads and a high affininty for alcohol. Botsawna Jounals!!

  140. As i always try to maintain a factual but non political contribution to this blog my opinion on the above topic is that where as some bloggers might deem RB to be a legally elected president i doubt his legitimacy to the presidency. i challenge those who see nothig ine RB,s rule to look up Legal vs legitimate. thanx.

  141. I know that Zambia has freedom of speach, but we should not abuse that freedom. Let this forum help us contribute to the development of ideas to build our country not cheap talk. insults and mocking of the president will not help us as a people. There is a lot that our country needs to grow to a comfortable level. Do we still have true lovers of Zambia who are level headed? Much of what I am reading on this forum and the type of exchange I hear sounds like Grade Seven kids. If that is the case I would understand. But if some of you are college materials you need to change your tone and grow up. Let us pray for our president. It is not outwide appearance, but the heart.

  142. Anyway us Zambians we are used to having the least all the time even when the good ones are there we would rather choose the worst. I think we have to face the reality of life, and I know after this we will understand who we are and where we are heading. The problem we have is voting names and not what someone can offer. This is the same even in football thats why we will be appearing at so many africa Cups and will never win one. We have appeared 31 times at the Africa cup of nations and never won a single. The day when we will turn to reality good things will start showing. We need to remove the small petty differences and focus on real issues and priorities.

  143. Well as your boss, let me give a final say. Am quiet impressed with some you. Your comments are making sense wel as some of you never seem to improve in thinking, shame on you PUNK HEADS. #212 & 213, you are very childish and useless. Kupusa bati..

Ba LT, good job u are doing but dont you have better photos 4 this man coz mwandi mwanawanga alila the whole night.

  144. I am once again challenging those who are syaing RB is ugly to ask LT to allow them to post their photos on this blog. RB is just getting old. Some of you bloggers will probably look worse than RB when you reach his age.If your are calling RB Broken Hillman then what will you call Abulayi Wade, the Senegalese president? I dont think the Senegalese make bad comments about the looks of their president.

  145. Ba LT,what is so special about RB,s unhappiness that you cant even put another story. Can you put something different plz.RB fyakuifwala ifyo.

The donkey suddenly jumped with excitement and ran towards woodlands, leaving behind a cloud of dust. 150. Citizens 212 and 213 must not take people 4 granted.Write what people are able to read.Perhaps I can offer you EXTRA LESSONS SO THAT YOU KNOW HOW TO WRITE.If people who did SUB A and B now write properly, then something is wrong with you! Many people visit this wonderful site.So REPENT OF YOUR SIN.Its not TOO LATE.John 10 VERSE 10

  151. Muhammed Yabba Dabbadu speaking from heaven through an unidentified Muslim Cleric complained bitterly about the lack of virgins he found in heaven after blowing himself up. “I was promised seven virgins when I arrived in heaven”, he said, “And when I got here there were only three virgins for the entire population of holy martyrs”. “To make matters worse”, he continued, ” Two of them were extremely overweight and the third was very ugly and had bad teeth. It’s no wonder they were virgins”. When the dead bomber complained to Allah, Allah apologized, saying that it was very hard to find virgins nowadays. Dabbadu said he was very skeptical about the whole suicide bomber thing to begin with. He

  152. People who are supporting Sata are living in dreams. The guy is a populist who promises what has never happened under the sun. How can I hav more money in my pocket, just by voting for a power hungry grade 4. Zambians start thinking. Can sata Honestly be President of anything? he cant even organise a convention. he now wants to appoint another central committee instead f calling for a convention. Stop being tribalists.
    Viva One zambia one nation

  153. Today its Saturday. It is time for you Chaps in the UK to make a bit of pennies. As usual you will position yourselves at either Kings Cross or Victoria Station. Sit down cross legged with a dry guitar and an upturned hut for begging. You will be strumming the guitar and singing your redemption song at
“Ichinyuchtu umwene, lekeni Sata ateke” to the passerbys.

  154. # 40 and your colleges that think sata was everyone choice, you are wrong.its amazing how pipo attribute the econmic collapse zambia is facing to RB.havent you heard it told to you bcoz its like you cant follow the trend of events worldwide.uluse you guys tell me that the americans will blame Obama for the compaines that have closed or the economic collapse in that great nation?bane use your heads instesd of spitting poisonous bitterness on everyone.unless you tell me MMD is also ruling in USA for the economic decline i will accept your reasoning.lol

  155. 205 Pumpy, I do have other things to do other than sit and blog all day long. Glad to see there is more civility in your blogs now.

  156. 185 Maestro Hhehe….; Interesting that you disapproove of many people going to receive RB at the airport upon his return. It kind of reminds me of the welcome organised for HH when he returned from his China-Hong Kong jaunt. HH is not even a State President and he made his homecoming a clear indication of what is to happen if he were ever to be President. Your Justification or differentiation of HH’s homecoming?

  157. 228 Anonomous; What makes you question whether RB is legal or legitimate? Signs that he is legal are that the Chief Justice declared him so and swore him in. Signs that he is legitimate are that foreign countries almost immediately all recognised him and sent congratulatory messages. Other signs of his legitimacy is that internally all political parties except for PF have accepted his win; in other words the majority of Zambians or their representatives consider him legal and legitimate. There are only a few sore losers still left out there.

  158. come on gentle men. lets shade of this Sata skin and begin to work with RB. In all honesty, any right-thinking person would understand where RB is coming from. problem with Sata is that he takes everyone around him for granted.

  159. And what is especially surprising is that cadres run to the High Court to attend PF cases where they are treated like poor distant cousins to Sata while foregoing seeing off the President and the comfort extended to them cadres by MMD. shame.

  160. Message to fellow Zambians: shed the Sata tag that has weighed you down and Sata accept defeat if you ever habour any intention of being taken seriously in Zambia after your well earned and deserved loss.

  161. #195, not a problem and keep well.
#253. ZEUS, I missed out on president HH’s welcome form China. Did the Vice President and Cabinet Ministers receive president HH at the Lusaka International Airport too?

If you care please inform us who exactly welcomed HH at the referred to occasion. Otherwise, my thoughts are that those who welcomed HH are his supporters only. Shade some light on that event please.

All others who referred to my comments, I appreciate and have taken note.

  162. #258, Maestro, how was your Sabbath worship this week. We had a powerfull sermon on health reforms with elder from riverside institute. I hope you are a reformer where you are. It worthy trying if you have to reduce diseases. Other wise RB is right the issue of his president as MMD is too early to start talking about it. Teta should tread softly on his agenda.
