  1. whao, when i look at pictures like these, i feel like such a traitor for setting up camp mu diaspora. i miss zed, just the simple life.

  2. #10 is he really a clergyman?
#16,17 Squatting is against the law, but why demolish a house with young children in it. That was a cold move by the land owner.
I just read about an Ebola like virus called ‘Lujo’ that killed 5 people in Zambia and South Africa last Fall. Did anyone else know about this then?

  3. pic 20 Be careful with these poverty pimp pastors from nigerian that peddle the word for profit. These are the same chaps that preach the get rich doctrine by giving us your money

  4. Kampombwa footballs look nice in the first pics. The rest of the pics look nice too.

    Prevention is better than cure.

  5. Dont we have enough land in zambia? I wish the govt would just come up with a policy that would enable all zambians acquire land fairly.

  7. Picture 1 reminds me of the time i was a kid. I looked exactly like that.
LT this pics are not enough. Where is Tandi? Who are we gonna be mocking this weekend? I’m sad. LT watwikala pa nsansa!

  8. kid in pic 1 is cute and is a typical zambian face.I fear that in 25years time those sweet innocent eyes will be red and blood shot, that flat tummy will be pot bellied and the speech from those thick lips, much like the speech of some bloggers! Hope he grows up well though.

  9. Weldone Sport In Action, the base that produces talent must be supported and developed, Its unfair to pump all the money into the National team, forgeting the grassroot that natures the talent. Thumbs up to SIA for motivating the grassroot and the forgotten rural masses.

  10. Sad to read about human beings spending their cold nights outside. What is wrong with the Legal System in Zambia. This is the time when they should have stood up for these people. But obviously they would rather defend the likes of Dora,FTJ or more recently Kapoko. These people have a right to decent housing…or maybe the UN Charter does not apply to them…

  11. Soil, soil, soil! Soil everywhere! Not a blade of green grass and yet it is just after the rainy season!

  12. Too many pics for the same function ba LT naimwe, mwakwata camera imo? Dont think you are doing it for free, we pay for the inter-net to read LT ka. We need a diversified view of activities in different provinces as you have done before. The problem is you ask for rides from the organisers of events instead of organising your own tranzio. However, thanks for the pics, they bring us closer to mother Zambia.

  13. #20 Jamaco wassup? Welcome back to Gelemani, no fear…just comment.
#21 Miss Daisy, hi. Please define “uku bazamuka” for me, I’m behind in ghetto grammar…

These are quite interesting pics, thanks to LT once again for letting us have a glimpse of life back home. I can notice 3 types of people in the pics:

    1. Those that are living a simple life.

    2. Those that are trying to live big.

3…and those that are living big (but don’t ask me how).

  14. Thanks for posting from Chinyunyu. We need to remember those living in the less priviledged parts of the country and not just focus on bapamwamba chabe. There is definitely more to life and to Zambia ,than making fun of Thandiwe’s hairstyle or make up or debating who is HIV positive or not.

  15. Ndola High Judge Wankie, has squashed the bail conditions meted on Roan MP Chishimba Kambwili , saying its unconstitutional for a magistrate to impose such bail conditions, the Judge has thus reduced the bail conditions to K500, 000 from K25, 000, 000 in their own cognizance. The 4 have since been released.

John Mbuzi went too far, may be directed by the MMD on the bail conditions.

  16. Pics 1 and 3 what beautiful children!! I can’t stop looking at them. It’s a pity they have already been introduced to the ways of lack and deprivation as can even be seen in their clothes. It’s even more of a pity to know that their chance at a great future is already compromised by lack of opportunities thanks to a headless government.

  17. No#4 Woman of substance it was all over LT for way too long. Yes we knew about the disease and the media confusion. Great pictures LT, no pictures of the ever annoying politicians. It was great that in Zambia Denominations know the Worship the same Lord in heaven, cunno abasungu naba pena. African Americans in general too still know Jesus as he should be known, but abasungu naba pena, they wanted to pass gay wedding rights here and invade everything else we know but the did not count on the Brothers and sisters in California voting against craziness. Infact let us cement the marriage close in our constitution before others try strange things too. I went off topic but at times it is very necessary. May God Bless Zambia and the World so as Wisdom and Knowledge are used correctly.

  18. All that Land and those people are resources we could use to make the lives of our people good. As a Christian yes I too agree that that Pastor looks shady. Why do Christians in Zambia in a general sense think they are not to participate in politics or bettering the country. It says in the Bibe that when the righteous rule people rejoice and when the wicked rule people mourn. Any one can be good even samaritans Christ taught us. Great Pictures LT.

  19. LT THANX FOR THESE PICS MWE INSTEAD OF THE USUAL RB AND FAMILY THERE IS MORE TO ZAMBIA N IT’S GOOD TO SEE THAT EVEN ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE GIVEN SOME MEDIA COVERAGE. I COMMEND U GUYS ON THE PICTURES U USUALLY GIVE US SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHICH I PERSONALLY APPRECIATE!

  20. #35 you have good eyes all that way back! It is Joe.

These pictures can do with TB’s images to spice them up. In Zambia when ppo are given a chance to plan their lives esp. in relation to accommodation, they want to have it all. When times agreed comes to a close, you end up looking devious when in fact it’s been yrs you have been planning with the chaps for them to move. Only way out isby force. Problem we want easy things like AID! Now that the donors are retracting their money, it’s up to RB to show them that we can tick without AID as ably said by Dambisa Moyo!

  21. I love the dichotomy of the the rich and ‘modern’ vs the poor. Very good pictures LT. I cannot believe how easy it is to be jaded about how some people are living back home when you don’t have to see it everyday. I’ve been in Canada two years only but I had forgotten kids still play with plastic footballs. I think it’s probably the same for our ministers who never really visit their constituencies and never have a taste of what it’s like to be poor in Zambia.

After reading a little on Dambisa Moyo’s opinions on aid, I cannot help but be sad whenever I see the government getting freebies from the West like that. I agree with her that aid does disenfranchise us as Zambians but I do not know if taking it all away wouldbe worth the human consequences. Thoughts?

  22. Nice to see that kid with ichimpombwa & wearing an Arsenal replica shirt but am more impressed with the team wearing the Man U shirts,Man U for life!!!
Truly, that pastor & his colleagues look like real pimps, that is what us Grand Sapeurs led by Papa Wemba say is classic,no match.
I feel sorry for the family that’s had it’s home demolished by the land owner,it’s a shame they couldn’t reach an amicable solution.

  23. LT any idea if theres any prominent civil servant e.g Dr Miti among the suspended at MOH

  24. #7. you need to be careful wat you say about men of God, if you dont believe thats okey, though i dont knw anybody that still doubts God these days, Jus dont paint everybody black wit your views. I have been to winners chapel and so many other churches, never have i been forced to give. Only wen u r mature christian will you understand ta importance of givine. and # 35 yes that is Bishop Imakando, am proud to be a follower of his ministry!

  25. Number 7, well put! These outlaws will misconstrue anything that talks about giving and God’s blessings to advance their get rich theology.

  26. Too bad for the families whose homes were demolished… I cant just imagine from where now they need to sart again…

  27. I dont mean the girls playin netball in picture 10 but the little spectator girls. They look so sweet and innocent. Guys dont you agree with me that the K10 bn would ve done much to improve living conditions where they are now? Netball namakasa kale. Twaletamba pa Mutundu ku Kamuchanga serious netball though na makasa nabena, but then that was 30 years ago. I dont sympathise with the family spending nites in the cold. These are the same people who disregard the law. They know very well that someone holds the right of claim to that piece of land but the nut goes ahead and builds his ramsharkle. What do you expect? The same old story of demolition of illegal structures. They must learn to respect the law.

  28. I have never really understood why someone would wnat to aquire so much wealth and even still from the poor when the majority of people do not even have any shelter, shoes, food, water. And you steal K10b to build a lodge or sho from GAME stores worthless goods when your neighbour cannot even afford a meal for her/his children. Wealth especially stollen weath will never take you anywhere. You will never be happy. The pictures are a reminder that Zambians are being robbed evreyday not by the colonialists that extracted minerals from us by now by our very own. What a shame!

  29. Pic 20. Ba Nigerian Pastor baisa mukuchita corn ama zambians kabili pa zed abantu balipwalala, any one can suck the cash out of their pockets

  30. very interesting pictures, especially the ones with those lads with plastic footballs. i miss that part of my childhood when we played chidunune with empty plastic bottles, padawith broken parts of asbestos roofing. even though surrounded with poverty, at least these kids are not spoilt like some of these disrepectful brats here in london with nintendos, flash mobile phones etc, whos spend all there time listening to crap on those music channels and watching nonsense on T. V

  31. I was privaledged to meet Bishop Oyedepo in 2005 at Winners church in london and We had a glorious time in the presence of God. The message I recieved during the convention i have never heard preached in that manner. I had a privaledge of meeting Bishop Oyedepo face to face he spoke a word into my life and the very day I was granted what I was praying to God for. His messages changed my life for the better. Today i can tell you my life is on another level because I have honoured engaraced men and women of God. Again after another challenge, God has used diferent servants of his to come to my rescue. A situation that was written off by a Judge, was overruled by a senior Judge and IK believe it wa the hand of God .
