LT Update on the Week and Weekend in Pictures

Share

This serves as a sincere apology to our site visitors for not running the week in pictures last Friday. This is largely due to the reorganisation we are doing for the column in terms of the way we display the pictures. The process has just taken longer than we thought. Because of this we would not be running the pictures today as well.

However, we expect to have the column back on Wednesday or Thursday with all the pictures we should have published. Expect a heading like The Week/Weekend in Pictures that never was.

On another level, there is Zambia’s Independence day celebration coming up this month and we believe Zambian communities will hold parties across the globe to celebrate this great day in the Zambian Calender. Lusakatimes would love to receive pictures from the parties of various Zambian communities around the globe so we can run a picture gallery. It would also be great of you can send us youtube video clips of your parties. We shall review them for publication on the site. Hopefully we can see which was Zambia’s greatest independence party.

Staying on the same independence day theme, lusakatimes would like to help Zambian communities facilitate the dissemination of this information to your community members. We are, therefore, making our prime advertising slot near the top of the site to all Zambian communities to use for adverting your independence day events. Please design a nice banner of size 730px wide and 90 px height. You can send us your banner through the upload your pictures link( http://www.lusakatimes.com/?page_id=15408 ). Please send the link as well to the site that would have details of the party or celebration.

Lastly, we once again deeply apologise for not bringing the picture column and thank every visitor to our site   for your patience, understanding. and awesome support you give to us. This  Site is where it is today  because of your great  and awesome support. We appreciate and highly value support.

  1. Let me see if I can survive until then. I am suffering withdrawal symptoms already! Thank you LT – you do a wonderful job.

  2. Mwendesheko. Pictures are the only media that tells it the way it is.

Another thing. Why havent you reported on RB being in North Carolina, USA this week? He undertook a clandestine trip

  3. THANKS BAICE……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

  4. Thanks for the update LT. I also like your spirit of encouraging bloggers to participate in shaping the image of the site – yes guys, let’s have some pics/clips of those Zambian parties accross the globe. All in all, great work, great site – keep it up!

  5. I applaud you LT for enabling us who are away watch pictures of “Cry the Beloved Country Zambia.” You are an only media body aware of the importance of pictures in media disemination. Love you. Mmmwaaaaan!!!

  6. As much as we have criticised one another, or even battled on this blog. LT has provided a media for Zambians of varying backgrounds and locations of origin to communicate. Though we may not see each other physically we can look at what we have as independence cheer when videos or pics are put up. Thanks LT, as a rule please start posting the activities of the opposition in terms of individual heirachy members so as we may know who wants us to entrust them with the running of our nation. Happy independence day for Zambia this 24th, but as always to God be the glory.

  7. Seems like someone embarked on a project without making sure they had all hte resources. lesson 1 in the Project management book.

  8. I guess you are busy looking for better pictures than RB coming down from a plane at the airport. I hope the next pictures dont have a single one of him in them. Goodluck!

  9. But ba LT mwapwa bwangu… Mwapwa nga sopo- nayo lifebouy, iyi pwila pakati. Lilya ifintu fyatampa ukuwama elyo mwapwa. Mwapwila pakati. Shame!

  10. LT you do not ‘deeply apologise’ but you either ‘deeply regret’ or ‘sincerely apologise.’ Apologising’ is not a feeling but an act therefore it cannot have depth of emotion. I know English is not our first language but our children sit exams and it will not bode well for them if they imitate error.

  11. Picture tells a million stories…checked the latest king Cobra pics in the post… he looks old….I’m sure HH is look a toddler if standing/seating to Sata!!!!!!.

  12. Thanks for the update LT. I look forward to viewing these pictures every Monday and Friday as they are one of the very few links I have with current affairs in Zambia. As such I was a dissapointed to notice there were no pictures either on Friday or Monday. However, I am so glad you’ve given us the update and I really look forward to seeing the new pictures later on this week.

  13. Apology graciuosly accepted. It has been a very depressing weekend without those gems that you provide every weekend. You guys are doing a tremendous job by enlighting the diasporans a chance to see what is going on back home.Unfortunately in life you always find individuals who are negative through jealousy. But i wouldnt lose sleep over these jealous creatures who can even organise a rat race.viva Lusaka times.

  14. Ba LT, just tell us to wait till further notice ala. Wednesday has come and come nomba ati chalaba shani? If we have to wait till after OCTOBER 24, just tell us please!

  15. Lekeni ukusabaila ba Zambia, why don’t don’t you take your own pictures and post them here. LT has done a good job. You used to rely on zamnet or post for news, where are they? I would rather read icengelo ( remember Tona na Ponyax)
