RB off to Copperbelt tomorrow

President Rupiah Banda is tomorrow expected to leave Lusaka for the Copperbelt province and participate in the 10th anniversary of the Zambia National Marketeers Association (ZANAMA).

President Banda will be accompanied by Local government and Housing Minister Dr. Eustarckio Kazonga and Labour and Social Security minister Austin Liato.

He is also expected to hold meetings with some government officials before joining the 10th anniversary celebrations for ZANAMA in Kitwe at the City Square where he will address the marketeers.

President Banda will return to Lusaka on the same day.

This is contained in a press statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere.

  1. Yaba, olo ni desperation. Even Chiluba never officiated at a ZANAMA function. HERB is giving credibility to ZANAMA. Elvis Nkandu alikatilapo banamaliketi na bashimaliketi.

  2. he wants to sell himself and probably hand out brown envelopes! BE WARE OF THE CB! RB.

  3. It can’t be denied that RB ‘s leadership of the MMD, has now turned into a fire fighting affair. The last time there were namakado problems in western province he rushed to kalabo to see the litunga and leave some brown envelopes to party cadres. This time the CB has problems with Namulambe and the lambas and he is on the run to attend to some celebration for ZANAMA.Watch out for brown envelopes copperbelt chiefs indeed, lets put the country first and not focus on being bribed we only have one zambia while RB has both Zambia and Zimbabwe .

  4. This is a very poor strategy.Elvis Nkandu originally from the DRC is not a popular or influential individual. The Maketeers would rather fall under the City Council. The ZANAMA is not different from Chicago’s Al Capone or the Mafiaso. Who advised Rupiah is a very cruel person. This will just reduce Rupiahs little popularity even further.

  5. RnB on the CB! The miners are hungry beware, the lamba’s are furius, quickly run back to Lsk and hide in plot 1. And oh, soon you will take up Zuma’s – offer state visit in SA. Soon you will have no where to run, except East!

  6. ZANAMA is similar to the dead organisation that was called UTTA. These characters just swindle the poor marketeers out of their money. Go to to Kitwe`s Chisokone market where ZANAMA is based – the place is stinking because ZANAMA and KCC are incapable of providing any services to the market although they are busy collecting all sorts of levies from the marketeers on a daily basis. And RB is legitimising these shaddy characters with a presidential visit. ZANAMA belongs to the dustbin like UTTA. Nsanda made his money from UTTA.

  7. Your Excellency President RB, you are too big to be participating in such an event. I guess it is just a cover up. The crux of your trip is not really that ZANAMA thing but to quench the fire in Lambaland. Mwasukumuna nyuki muntanda ya ba Lamba bakulumpe. Barely eight or so months in power and everything seems to falling apart around you. What is your problem kanshi???

  8. ZANAMA is an organisation for thieves and run by thieves. Ask any marketeer how they are swindled by Nkandu and his group.
But, strange enough the Republican President can be f00lish enough to attend to a ZANAMA function. Even if it is desperation for the 2011 votes. aweeeeeeeeeee.
ZANAMA is an organisation that should have been disbanded so as to let the councils run the markets to raise revenue for the benefit of the councils unlike now when the beneficiaries are Elvis Nkandu and his henchmen.
    Shame on you Bwezani.

  9. atase filth at chisokone he has come to see, i am beginning to wonder their is no job in state house.
