Govt challenges HH over RAMCOZ

Share

Government has challenged United Party for National Development UPND president Haikainde Hichilema to explain what happened to the hundreds of millions of dollars that went missing when he engineered the privatization of RAMCOZ and other parastatals.

Chief Government spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasha in an interview with QFM said Mr Hichilema should not try to come out clean on the sale of RAMCOZ but explain the criteria and procedures used to sell off the mine which subsequently resulted in the suffering of the ex-workers of the company.

He said Government has all the information with regards the manner in which Mr Hichilema handled the privatization of parastatals.

Leutenant General Shikapwasha expressed shock that the UPND leader is now condemning and attacking Government on what he described as a well calculated move to the sell Zamtel.

He said Mr Hichilema should not mislead the Zambian people on Government’s decision to sale Zamtel because it is in the interest of the nation.

And General Shikapwasha has dared Mr Hichilema to tell the Zambian people how he acquired the house that he is currently leaving in situated in Kabulonga residential area.

  1. Again with this nonsense? If Shikapwasha knows something that we do not about HH then why not go ahead and reveal what he knows. He sounds like a 2 year old playing dare games when he’s role should be more dignified than that. It is frustrating to see the calibre of leadership we have in power, especially knowing there are so many better able leaders in Zambia than this fraud of a spokesperson. Can someone at ZNBC start a forum for these so called leaders from opposing parties to come together and engage in sensible debate? Lets expose these weakilings for the empty cans they are.
On the other hand, if HH was knowingly involved in the unethical handling of the privatization of RAMCOZ, he too should be held accountable. Still there is a more mature way of doing it than playing dare.

  2. MMD we know you and will never believe whatever you are saying, you just bring these false allegations when it is time for elections to squizz inocent individuals who seem to be a threat to you. In 2008 presidential bye-elections, you told us that Magande had something to do with the failure of Zambia Airways, and you even promised to show us proof of all documents, you even went on to carry out investigations with police to which up to now nothing has come out of that. What a shame on you and now you are on HH. No one in zambia can now believe whatever you say, just lose elections peacefully as the pact wins. Nothing can change our minds at this stage just go and hung yourselves. We have lost hope in you. You have failed to arest Chiluba your consultant thief why turn on inocent guy

  3. If any man will manage to shut up this old man, I will give him everything I have in my life. Is there not even one one who thinks in MMD for they to continue using this man? Please! rush while offer lasts!

  4. Shikapwasha, we know that your only qualification is a GCE and the burrel of a gun, hence there is no employment for people of your status in this world apart from being Banda’s bootlicking. We are also aware that you cannot even handle any single business because of your ignorance, but you have to remember that our wives cannot continue carrying placentas in buckets while you guys are enjoying. You have denied us good leaders hence this time around we do not want to make the same mistake. We cannot keep securing your job while we are being reduced to extreem poverty. Leave power to individuals who can move it for us all to enjoy.

  5. Oh my God what does Shikapwasha know about business only opening displaying his ignorance in public. He does not even understand the role of agency in Business. Shame on you including your followers.

  6. Father Castle rustler and son Company and political party Rustler. What a family. I guess Sunny Chitombwa, whatever the last name mean, has just continued where the father left off, though in a different arena. It is a family business. While the father excelled at cattle as a rustler, Sunny Chitombwa has decided to specialize in companies and now parties and SATA better watch it if he is to keep his dream of ruling Zambia come rain come sun. Remember how he took the party from the nose of the leadership of Saki, Sichinga and all the senior UPND officials Mazoka left. They don’t call this Kid Ichilema for nothing.

  7. People who are dull can not differentiate between privatization and liquidation. Grant Thornton never privatized Ramcoz but liquidated it. A company is legal entity HH was just an employee so what?

  8. Whats the point of daring HH instead of just releasing the information if there was any wrong-doing and/or theft/plunder of national resources.
I bet this will bring the BIG Thief FTJ Chiluba into the picture so that the case goes back to court which is an indirect way of of the denied appeal.
Come on Shikapwasha, spill the beans man- ulula iwe tinvele.

  9. Certainly Sunny Ichilema Chitombwa is gambling out of protruding ignorance and his natural immaturity against what clouds out his indelible record. We can only applaud Sata though retarded for being such a good resource on his ambitious but deluded deputy.

  10. Shika.. I’m a product of the Luanshya and suffered the privatisation mess your MMD started from 1997 to date. The appointed RECEIVER was Christopher Mulenga of Grant Thornton in his personal capacity wih limited liability by the courts on behalf of the creditors of RAMCOZ seeking recovery of debts.. Simple receivership law… GRZ was just one of the many CREDITORS that sued.. The Receiver appointed runs the company on behhlf of the Creditors and the court until such moneys owed at recovered after which company handed back to owners or is sold if determined by court.. SHIKAPWASHA YOU DULL CHAP is HAKAINDE HICHILEMA CHRISTOPHER MULENGA????? is Hakainde the one who told you to sell to BINANI group of companies??? if you saying he gave GRZ bad advice, sue him or shut up!

  11. I bet the Arthur Wina, Dean Mung’omba, Remmy Mushota, Baldwin Nkumbula, Ronald Penza, are turning in their graves seeing what has happened to the MMD they championed! Creatures with big noses, mini skirted hules have infiltrated the party and now its just a laughing stock. Shika just admit that the young 48 year-old HH is making you sh.it in your bamba! Leave him alone, talk of what your party is gonna offer the nation so they keep you in power, atase!

Ka kafupi was wearing red trousers, blue shoes, naka worn out shirt (size 14 yr), when Baldwin Nkumbula gave him personal money to clean up – mukamba chiyani imwe ba chimbwi!!!!

  12. Big nose Shikas, hey kamufana kakupasa ma nightmares eh! I bet you are not sleeping because you see the future so totally bleak for you chaps. Continue with your comedy, we are enjoying it. Power to the PACT. :d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d:d:d:d

  13. Its not even just how its was done by this corrupt MMD government, its why it should have been done at all. Its time for more socialistic ideology and taking fewer instructions from the capitalist institutions IMF/World Bank. These two institutions represent corporate lobbying interests that favor Western firms.

  14. Pliz Shikapwasha, even if you are so dull you can easly understand that HH was not part of the Kafupi’s government who were selling our company for a song, just for personal benefit

  15. #8 Chief bootlikcer
As a man who has worked in the diplomatic mission, a parent and as old as you are,i would consider you my father, but your blog there is way below the level of a kaponya,i would expect that from your youngest sibling, alas its coming from you.SHAME!!!

  16. ba mudala aba ni mbushi. He opens his mouth and trash comes out, bushe ninshi imwe ba mudala? ka Ngwee mulepoka kuli ba sebele ba RB ka mipanga ichipuba? ukula bwantailafye.:-@

  17. Hundreds of millions of dollars went missing ?…..And where was the government when all this was happening ? …….:-?……..African politics are a mystery.

  18. How difficult is it to just ask HH to respond to this? A good number of our fellow Zambians betrayed us with the sale of state properties. If HH is one of them we need to know. It is more important now that he wants Plot ONe lest he sells the whole country.

  19. Ba Shikapwasha, stop witch hunting. Soon you will say the public snrviceworkes have not been paid thelr May salaries because of HH. Why are you zeroing in on HH ignoring the fTJs government role in the mess at RAMCOZ? Was HH alone at GT or there were other Zambians?

  20. Don’t worry about Shika and Bootlicker with his co partner in hatred Senior Citizen.

They need to be forgiven that their party holds power to search accounts of H.H and declare where and when he gained his money.

H.H has dared them to check his accounts for the past 27 years but Big nose ronnie keeps on barking mad like a rabid dog on speed.

Everyone knows H.H was working for GRZ/MMD in privitizing companies in Zambia.

We want to see how CHILUBA explains his 8 million and WHO paid him that much.
10000 times his Zambian wages as President of Corruption.

  21. If GRZ/MMD lost $100 million then who paid the cheques?

Is this another A.G report gone down the drain only to resurface when MMD is running scared and now want to blame someone else.?

  22. LT u,a just full of nonsense !! no matter how much you campaign for mmd, us the people of Zambia will vote for the PACT (PF-UPND PACT). and LT with yo mmd u,a a banch of useless chaps !!

  23. Adviser you seem to be an ignorant chap. Do you believe what these chaps MMD chaps. The sale of ZAMTEL has nothing to do with the past. If HH benefited so should the current government is that how it goes? Shame on these people, I hate these politicians, especially MMD. HH, Valentine etc of course benefited professionally as employees not as day light thieving MMD. People won’t buy whatever MMD says, days are ticking for MMD.

  24. And General Shikapwasha has dared Mr Hichilema to tell the Zambian people how he acquired the house that he is currently leaving in situated in Kabulonga residential area.

  25. Iwe chiShikapwasha, HH was not in govt. Blame the MMD for what went on at Ramcoz and the whole privatisation process. Grant Thornton was just contracted to do the dirty work and HH happened to be the partner there. Vukani maZambia, Vukani. Give HH and the Pact a chance. Senior Citizen inchito yapwa nabakashi bobe who is older than you!

  26. These are the last kicks of a dying horse, Gen. you are in goverment and in control of everything, why not bring up evidence and prosecute HH…i fail to understand why you keep forcing the public to speculate…bwana you have instruments of power, tell us the truth otherwise shut up and wait for your time to pack and go next year…twanaka naimwe…also i hear the president of Chad was in Mfuwe, why are you quite on this…

  27. At his age this Chi-Shikapwasha cant understand that government did not engage HH but Grant Thornton. Why cant governement appraoch Grant Thornton if they want to know what happened to the money.

  28. :)):)):)):)):)):)):)):)):)):)):)) The Pact should not make a mistake appointing a General to be their spokesperson. All a guy knows is shooting the enermy thats all. This is embarassing@-)@-)@-)@-)

  29. Criticism against RB worries Chief Chikanta

CHIEF Chikanta of the Tonga people in Kalomo says it is surprising that some traditional leaders in Southern Province have developed a tendency of criticising President Banda even when there is a lot of Government-sponsored development taking place in their chiefdoms. The chief said there are a lot of government projects in Southern Province which the media should highlight. He said this in an interview on Tuesday.Chief Chikanta said it is important for the media to bring out what Government is doing so that people can know.He said inadequate coverage has made the opposition unfairly attack President Banda and his government.

  30. The chief said Government is building the first ever girls’ technical school in Mbeza in Namwala while the Choma-Neiko Road is being tarred. The chief said even with such development, it is surprising that Government is being attacked as doing nothing for the people of the province. “There are a lot of programmes Government is undertaking in Southern Province. In the education sector, there is a high school being built in Batoka, the first ever girls technical school is under construction in Mbeza and no-one is talking about it. All we hear are attacks on Government and it is surprising that some chiefs who can even see the development are the loudest when criticising Government,” Chief Chikanta said.

  31. He said Government is building a modern hospital in Choma and Kalomo without anyone talking about them. The chief said it is constitutionally wrong for traditional leaders to align themselves with opposition political parties because by virtue of their status, they are supposed to work with the government of the day. And Chief Chikanta said the Patriotic Fund/United Party for National Development (PF/UPND) pact can only be strong if Mr Hakainde Hichilema is adopted to lead it in the 2011 tripartite elections.

  32. He said this is because PF president Michael Sata, who is the pact co-leader, has nothing new or different to offer to Zambians. He said people are closely watching how the pact will work because in the past, alliances have failed because of differences in ideologies and personal interest. He said Mr Sata has attempted to form alliances in the past with other political parties but failed because the PF leader allegedly does not respect partners. Chief Chikanta claimed that should the pact decide on Mr Sata as presidential candidate, Mr Hichilema will have trouble to convince his supporters to vote for the man they allegedly mistrust.

  33. The PF/UPND pact was re-launched just over a week ago but is still mute on who is going to lead the alliance as a presidential candidate for the 2011 general elections.

  34. why are you telling us eeh? Go to the Police Mr Ronnie Shikapwasha sir if have evidence for that go, i dare you go!!!

  35. why are you telling us eeh? Go to the Police Mr Ronnie Shikapwasha sir if have evidence for that go, IG always say that dont rush to the press, the right place is the Police dont be scared just go!!!

  36. This is rubish. GRZ made a decision to sell zamtel to a Libyan company, and the company that did the consultancy work was RP Capital in this case, So you mean if the Libyan company will fail to run the business effectively, and workers lose jobs you will blame the major shareholder of RP capital. Shame on your lack of understanding. HH got his wealth from hard work and he has managed to account for it than any of our serving GRZ leaders. The man is intelligent and hard working, he went to school to learn skills and made use of it in his real life. We need him a lot to help us youths have a go in life and to remove the believe of joining politics to benefit from poor zambians. Work for your family first so that when you are in politics it will be for service to zambians.

  37. Shikapwasha dull, dull and dull. He thinks all Zambians are as dull as he is. If HH participated in corruption then why didn’t Mwanawasa arrest him when he (HH) was one of his greatest enemies next to Sata? Why can’t Chiluba tell the nation how HH stole? Let them arrest HH for corruption with immediate effect if he stole. KK in his days would say stupid *****s.

  38. They dont realise that they are exposing the so called Dame- Good- President Chiluba, their political consultant who should answer for the hundreds of millions of dollars that are missing. No wonder Vera Chiluba (former wife) said Chiluba had $100million dollars somewhere.

  39. Mwata you can just die lamenting about the pact but people of southern province know what they want, they believe in real issues and not political appeasements. Even if GRZ is building that technical girls school as you claim, are the parents going to use stones to pay for school fees because their animals are dying and GRZ is not helping to find a solution to this problem. Southern province already has school than any other in zambia and these are good mission school with quality education. What GRZ is doing is like providing a set of new pots to a person who already has old ones but in need of a bag of melie meal to feed his kids. I like people of Southern province, they are never moved by cosmetic provisions. If HH did something just report him to ACC since you MMD are in charge now

  40. Our country needs deliverance by God from all sorts of crazies. Its not just the politicians and satanists we have to watch out for. Comments from some MMD stooges on this forum make one wonder what the world is coming to. And to think some of these are Fathers!?, Anyway, each to his own.

P.S. Its got nothing to do with your contract and everything to do with your conduct – You were fired pending re-evaluation. Yes you.

  41. HH was never in charge of privatising parastatals – this was ZPAs’ responsibility! If HH was contracted as a consultant, it was under clear terms of reference set out by ZPA.

If in the governments view hundreds of millions of dollars “disappeared” and they are aware of it, it is negligent of them to merely pay lip service to the issue.

The governement should be categorical about their allegations so that HH can sue them when they fail to prove any wrongdoing on his part.

HH is a rich man in any currency ( last count approx £5m) due to his hard work – deal with it!
Mmembe is equally very wealthy due to his hardwork, cunning and diligence – deal with it and stop hating.

Anyone that uses their brain can make money so drop the jealousy.

  42. Say everything about everything, we want to know we want to know; yes corruption is wrong under what ever name any corrupt leader must dance to the tune;; we dont want corruption after corruption, we need some clean chap from somewhere to rule Zambia, and not the same dirtyhands to continue with a new name that is going no where;;

  43. On “Government has challenged United Party for National Development … Haikainde Hichilema to explain what happened to the hundreds of millions of dollars that went missing when he engineered the privatization of RAMCOZ and other parastatals… General Shikapwasha has dared Mr Hichilema to tell the Zambian people how he acquired the house that he is currently leaving in situated in Kabulonga residential area,” I am begging the Mr President RB Banda Administration of GRZ to allow investigations to go on over Mr president and 2011 presidential candidate HH’s possible misconduct reported above by Chief GRZ Spokesman Lt Gen R. Shikapwasha.

Should the RB Banda MMD Administration of the GRZ fail to do investigations then the MMD are time wasters and must be removed.

  44. #27 Caradon. I pity you my brother/sister. Ignore the past at your own peril. I expect your advice to be – we need to learn from where the past privatizations were bungled and ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes. As we learn what was messed up in the past transactions and find skeletons in the process – like HH for example, we are at liberty to take any appropriate and legal actions. There are some Zambians who were very senior people during the privatization process – sold some companies for questionable amounts and a few months later they resigned and started working for their former clients – clear conflict of interest. To say that so and so just got commission for the services rendered is very myopic. We expect our countrymen as professionals to be loyal and honest.
