Should Collins Mbesuma search for redemption see him swallow his pride and return to his roots?
According to Kick.com, the fallen star striker is officially off the market and currently keeping fit at a football academy in Durban under the watchful eye of physical trainers from rugby giants Natal Sharks.
Mbesuma has failed to find a club since Moroka Swallows fired him in July for indiscipline.
He is reported to have come close to securing a deal in Israel but that fell through.
This is after Zesco United are alleged to have earlier offered him sanctuary while he searched for a permanent deal abroad but decided instead to go to Israel.
Mbesuma’s best shot at finding a club in South Africa looks bleak as we head towards Christmas and by a long shot likely coming in the New Year.
However if that doesn’t work out, should he follow his compatriots Billy Mwanza and Sashi Chalwe and the much-traveled Linos Chalwe to earning his income back at home if the price is right?
Collins who?
Mbesuma should do what he thinks is right for him. I dont think we have a right to decide what he should do just like we were not able to decide which team he could have played for previously. We have a bunch of former soccer players currently living and working in South Africa. We all know that his time of playing active soccer is up but I believe he can find some regular job in South Africa rather than coming back home. Honestly what is he going to be doing in Luanshya or Ndola apart from drinking chibuku. So I say hang up the boots and find a regular jos just like Hillary Makasa, Joseph Bwalya, Dennis Lota etc.
Why should we debate Mbesuma’s life? If football is no longer bringing food on his plate, he is very free to look for other ventures. He is not obliged to come back to Zambia as long as he has valid papers for staying in South Africa. No everyone should pose as Mbesuma’s Advisor. Leave him alone, am sure he is able consult people he trusts, not LT or any media organisation.
Collins Mbesuma God blessed with talent. Why does he not remain humble? I shall pray for this brother personally. He is married to a very caring and beautiful wife, has the built of a tank, and had he behaved would have even played for Liverpool as a hulking striker like Didier Drogba. He was once the cream of the south African league, but as is the downfall of most Zambian men and a growing demographic of our women he chose the alcohol way. My advice is that he works hard regains his form and have that Kalusha help him secure a spot on a south African club. Even the Zambian embassy can be his reformed liason agents, is that not what foreign missions are for?
such hypocrites!! pretending to be tolerant and offering good counsel now that the man has hit rock bottom whilst secretly relishing his fate….zambian way proper!
#2,3,4,5 Excellent comments.Good luck Mbesuma
the young man had a promising career but like Kalaba and Felix, discipline has been there downfall,i wonder why it is like that for our players could it no one to guide them or maybe lack of education. All the same Mbesuma is still our son and we wish him well.
Mbesuma is just an index of how most Zambians behave. Being an icon have put his Zambian traight in the lime light, but we all know many Zambians are like that. I dont want to count names, just look accross all sports spectra and you will see someone has done it in same way in one way or another. with attainment of fame people lose touch with reality, and they quickly forget where they started from. One’s begining is the campus of where you are in life and it helps shape one’s future direction. Lose touch with your begining and you might find yourself moving in a circle and end up where it all started. That’s when you realize you have lost your opportunities, and regaining lost opportunities is a hard battle with many huddles to over come. Why not just avoid them in the begining?
Hey guys, we need such negative role models to constantly remind you what you don’t want to become….
Let him try the a new career in beer drinking or the adult film industry…
hahaa
Sad story. sad ending chapter for a former Section 9 Resident of Luanshya. Wasted talent. What should \Mbesuma do himself? Thats a million dollar quesion he should ask himself.
#2. Mbesuma is a public figure as national sportman so we as fans can debate. We r not decinding what he does. What rights are you talking about. You don’t make sense. Any where in the world ie.Tiger Woods. Cristiano Ronaldo , Rooney fans on blogs and talk shows discuss issues concerning stars .!! In my opinnion Luanshya should be out as he will end up a drunk !
Let him join the Beer advertising industry.I bet chibuku producers like,Lusaka beer, National Breweries, Timwenge etc will be falling over themselves for his signature.Oh not forgetting Tujilijili manufacturers.
The complete curriculum for the brother should be, improve the fittiness and the behaviour. Improving one and leaving out the other will not help him.
Its always hard for someone to come down to the level they never thought they would. Whats important is putting food on ones table and getting one with your life. Mbesuma needs to decide whats best for him and we all know he will be better off here than keeping fit where he is in the name of being abroad.
ITS COMMON IN ZMABIA TO CONDEM.WE EASILY FORGET THE GOOD THAT PEOPLE DO/OR HAVE DONE.LEAVE HIM ALONE
Mbesuma has a manager and agent who handle his affairs. So they and himself know what went wrong and the next step. I don’t see him going to drinking as we alledge because the future is in his feet.
Damnest guy I have ever known, Had the world at his feet, let him eat pie………… its life.
#11. I agree with you 100%. As a public who even some of tax payers money along the way he should be debated. Live with it #2, this is the way of the modern world.
Being a Zambian, I feel sorry for both Mbesuma and Zambians. We were all so excited about the prospect of having one of our own messing up the defenders in one of the biggest leagues in the world.
let him approach TP Mazembe and for a reduced fee he can have at least 4 more years before he fades away this son of Kajiya Francis
Mbesuma still has quite a bit of soccer left in him. He is signed to one of the best sporting agencies this side of the equator. All he needs to do is just humble himself and yeild to what they tell him to do and he will revive his career. If he again gets to be the hardhead he was then he should just forget it. If they say he should stick it out in Durban getting fit he should do that. I just worry with the women in Durban I dont know if his will power is strong enough to stick it out but anyway being still signed to prosport is a huge advantage and a big stepping stone to him reviving his careyer. Its up to him now to really want it. Going back to Zambia is just a non starter, to what ?play and earn a silly salary like K800,000 or something, go drive his dodge on those pothole roads awe
much as we can not decide ones destiny,it is always good to listen to other peoples advice.mbesuma is just a good football player what is needed of him is just seriousness and commitment on his part.lets help him and not discourage him, lets be proud of people and help lift them up wen they fell.wishing bro.mbesuma good lucky.
There is no debate here. The chap should just go back home and try to revive his career there since he likes it there. Everytime he went home he would go back to his club a week or two later. now he has a chance to stay there indefinately. In as much as he is talented i also believe that his education or the lack thereof has alot to do with his current difficulties. Could it be age cheating and that his real age has caught up with him?
People, football is a career with a very short life span. Collins’ time is up. There is very little he can do in the sport now. Changing or helping him to get back on his feet will be very difficult, since he is already grown up like that. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Anyway try, I wish you all the best.
Collins Mbesuma has brough his own downfall, just as they saying “LIKE FATHER LIKE SON”. Those who are old enough will remember how Francis Kajinya( Collin’s father) used to disappear from GBFC within Lusaka when it mattered. Today Francis is a shadow of himself he cant even coach a TEAM IN THE LOWEr LEAGUE OF FAZ. Collins cant sale on the South African market, the chap has gone to scrap. The best he can do is come back home and join either Zanaco or Zesco and perhaps be offered employment even as a driver or office orderly that will make him sober up. This is the culture of our Zambian sportsmen and women, they shine for one or two seasons there after its ” PENZE CHULU” THOSE WERE THOSE BUSINESS. Bola is a short life profession and one needs to work hard and invest for future. 4 CM…
Who cares!
Sad for my Home boy Mbesuma. indeed what a life! Let him try a career in Beer sampling or Pornograph becoz these careers dont require discpline. Anyway i wish him well and i wont forget to send him a box of Tujilijili and condoms in case he takes up my advice.
# 26 is that the way you can wish your home Boy, he might have made mistakes atleast we know about them, what about you coz we know not your life? Be c onsiderate
Sorry Sitondo i didnt mean it, i was jst fooling around, i honestly feel for him. He needs our support. Lets all pray for him.
Let him consult his witch doctor.
#2 You can’t say “its up to Mbesuma”, then you go on giving him a good advice. Agree with you it is best to find a job in South Africa or somewhere else, and he shouldn’t attempt to go back to Luanshya.
when God gives you a talent you must use it to the best of your ability
mbesuma soccer career it’s looks like it is coming to end, he is geting old and these days clubs are looking for yuonger players not old players. yes we can not tell mbesuma what to do but we can advice and the advice is there to take it or leave it.
my advise will go to all soccer players in zambia if you are a player and you still have cash please go to school so that when your socer career comes to an end you will be able to look for employment becouse you are educated
