Faz says the rescheduled annual general meeting will be held in Kabwe on April 30.
Faz general secretary George Kasengele confirmed in a statement released today.
“The meeting on 30th April 2011, to be held in Kabwe, is another opportunity for every member of FAZ to raise and deliberate any issues they may wish discussed by the Council,” Kasengele said.
“It should be noted that these meetings and opportunities for dialogue, consultation and unity are not only at great cost to the Association and the game but important for the greater good of Zambian football.”
However, the venue in Kabwe has yet to be decided.
Hope there won’t be another postponement. Football must progress and not otherwise.
PLIZ NSCZ, TAKE OFF YOUR HANDS ON THIS ONE
what was resolved at the lusaka AGM (simataa and co)
So, they are taking the AGM to Kamanga’s domain, he is the Chairman of Kabwe Warriors, is he not?
Ha ha ha football and its politics.
I don’t care where you hold this one, this Kalusha of yours just has to GO. He must realise that Zambian taxpayers fund FAZ and not FIFA, so your arguement of no govt interferrence is superficial. Look at South Africa – is’nt it clear to you that FIFA cashed in more than SAFA and the SA Govt at the expense of poor people? Everywhere in the world there is govt involvement in soccer. You can only argue about whether or not that involvement is open or disguised as something else and thus indirect. Remember what we are seeing in Zambia are the tricks of the embattled and crooked FIFA President Sepp Blatter who also wants to rule FIFA forever. So in the Zambian case he has to support his fellow crooks such as Kalusha and company to remain in control of soccer – to his own benefit. No chance…
I am just imagining the president Obama attending a NBA meeting to solve problems at NBA, or PM David Cameron attending a meeting to resolve problems in English football. Imagine the entire Rupiah Banda attending a meeting with FAZ, NSCZ, FIFA! I just laugh and other people laugh as well for the entire president of zambia acting so childishly.
Iwe #7 Naiwe Nakupapata Sana Sana!! I don’t know where you’re writing from (Don’t know that flag), but don’t pretend not to know that all those you’re mentioning DO get involved in these things. The only question is HOW. Presidency is about doing all those things that grow your consituency – some of which may look childish to you. Why isn’t it childish for FIFA to attend a FAZ AGM. Is this the first FAZ has ever had since its inception? Don’t you smell a rat? And while you write Zambia has just beaten Mozambique 2-0 in Maputo – most likely because the boys think Kalusha has been kicked out and it’s the best way to celebrate his departure!
in february this year the British govt got entangled in the premier league and football association leadership. The difference is no high level govt official interfered but rather committee was set up. The British Govt was scared of a FIFA ban if it interfered
lets resolve the issues in FAZ once for all.
Soccer lovers just know that Mayuka has done us proud, we have beaten Mozambique 2-0. Under 23 is also leading 2-0. we are just waiting for Libya vs Comoros
Good move by kalu. He has decided to take AGM at the backyard of Kamanga so that he shud not cry foul of thug issue and also he to be crushed once and for all.
Good move by kalu. At least he has good advisers and let us see if our police will fail to provide protection again. Also if NSCZ and simataa will change the venue.
wow, we really know how to waste time and money in zed. instead of concluding this senseless matter in a timely fashion, we postpone it and complicate it.
RB Gvt, Sports ministry, NSCZ, Kamanga factions and supporters, including big brains and lawyers like Max Sichula and Chifumu Banda all got dribbled (ama-olilo) by no other than…Kaluuuuu. I bet they all must have been feeling like s.h.i.t on saturday evening. Bloggers! seriously this is becoming funny, I mean I was LMAO and just for more rib tickler, I would love to see Kalu take the next planned meeting from kabwe to Kamuchanga hotel in mufulira at the last minute and let’s see what happens. LOL. It’s like Kalu is keeping and running with this AGM in his pocket and the rest are chasing him to try and steal it. Thanks to Kalu too that I now know some of this little hotel dotted around copperbelt. I hope to know all of them by the end of this “Who wants Own FAZ” comedy show.
The NSCZ boss Banda (uncle of Kamanga) wants the AGM venue to be in Kafue.
#7, that means we have a President of the people. And who else do you think has sufficient diplomatic skills and clout to calm the FAZ situation and avoid a FIFA ban? Surely not Mr Sata.
“Let’s continue the journey to tomorrow’s Zambia, together” – RB, President for all Zambians.
bane fyonseni Ba Sata, FAZ has its president he can calm the situatuition
Please Simataa and kamanga, cant u guys just wait for 2012 to try your luck on taking over FAZ?And what guarantee do we have that youwill be any better? Please spare us.It seems you power hungry chaps want to get into FAZ thru the BACK DOOR.Personally,I feel u two chaps cant face KALU the Legit way but sum No confidence BULLSHIT.Grow up!
Chi # 7, RB is president of zambia a sovereign nation wit its on systems of doing things. If obama o cameron doesn’t attend meetings of their sports associations its not RB s fault. What u a saying is that RB can only do wat obama o cameron does, thats nonsense. For RB; dont relent sir, in solving issues demanding yo attention, thats what a serious president does. Viva RB!
#17 FAZ has a President who wants to run Zambian soccer while he lives in South Africa, the only thing that matters to himare the connections and material gains that he as an individual stands to get. There must be something seriously wrong if we find this acceptable. Next you’ll be asking Zambians to vote for a Zambian living the diaspora as state president while that person has no intention of returning to Zambia. Other than him being out of touch with the reality on the ground, the salary you pay him is not spent at Soweto market or anywhere in Zambian economy. Why don’t learn? Our chipolopolo boys have been telling stories of how this man would rush through a training session so as to catch a flight to Johannesburg the same day to serve as part of a supersport 3 expert analysis…
This is nothing but just postponing the inevitable, Sekuru Gbagbo Kalusha is history. The chap is sooo thick not to realise that time for him is up. You bet its the accounts that are worrying him, how is he going to account for the millions he has failed to account for in three years and also that sports deal he signed but only him knows the contents of the deal? I will not be surprised that once an audit of his tenure is put under the spot light, there will be stinking discrepancies that will need explaining to the police. He better brace himself for a life as a refugee, in Joburg.
#20 why the hatred for Kalu? Have you been bought by the Kamanga Camp? Did you take time to listen to your Simataa on the Asssingment on MUVI Tv. He plainly stated that his group were not recognised by Fifa. Fifa is not a political platform friends, we risk been banned.
# 20 when was Kalusha last on supersport? # 21 Kalusha’s time will only be up in 2012. dont expose your hatred for some one without facts. Do you think if Kalu’s hands were dirty he would be toying with the Government like this. Im sure DEC, OP and ACC have done their audits and have found the man to have his books in order. You talk about sports deals how do you think our national team camps so easily in SA and uses the best fitness facilities. Talk about featuring Zambian soccer teams onSupersport, alot of things are done easily because of his connections with FIFA, CAF.
Iwe #23 Muto fimo fimo ! You really think those camps in SA are Kalu connections or Faz ( GRZ ) Money at work. Do you really think the facilities would be free becoz it is Kalusha. Nonsense ! This is business this chap would have resigned if there is no benefit or he has something to hind. Most African teams camp in SA are you telling us it is about connections ? No $$$$$$. Wake up.
# 24 Mbuzi . For sure uli mbushi. If FAZ had money our team would be playing friendlies with teams like Egypt, Ghana, England etc. So spare us your ignorance. Remember you need to play some teams when in SA. Who is going to give you audience if they do not know you as most of the teams want to camp in SA as you put it?
This is exactly what I was saying. Why can’t we have the AGM at MUTENGULENI VILLAGE?(Ke ke ke ke ke ke ke)
#25 Dinx another fool. No qaulity team wants to play Zambia becoz of poor results and a stinking fifa rating. Remember we had a friendly with Ghana in Endland and ended up feilding amatures . Do you think they will agree to another match ? Kenya ditched us for South Africa recently. How does money come into friendlies. ! be objective Koswe iwe
There are a lot of forcez at play in this FAZ impasse. The Kalusha ego, the government’s open biasness, “poverty” in a lot affiliates and of course “big brother” FIFA’z insincerity, are some of the obstaclez to to the solution.
# 27 Mbuzi . Muli mbushi shikulu imwe. You said connections do not matter but money. Now you are talking about our quality of football and rating. The truth is Kalusha has brought more benefit to FAZ through his reputation. Let your brothers( Simataa and Kamanga) wait for his term to finish then they can also contest for positions not back door. NSCZ is full of old chaps who do not understand the current trends in sports. Ba Max Sichula and them should be out.
#27 Imbushi is trying to be intelligent when he knows he is very dull any way keep trying after all practice make perfect but u still got a long way to go bro!!!
Hatred for Kalusha bwalya won’t help in anyway, that man is just Great even if you get ready of him, other Countries have great respect for him.Simata ,Kamanga are not known anywhere.
Politics has found room in football. What a shame to mother zambia.
heheh..very dull chaps..whats the problem here..why was the AGM postponed..?
Chiwamina galu, if the FAZ annual general meeting was to be held in mufulira, Kamanga and the group would have been saying, current FAZ is going to hire thugs. Kabwe everyone is quite. People who talks toooo much, their perfomance is low. Hope Kamanga and the group are learning sumthing from what is happening
Just at kamanga’s door step…. good… we wait to hear the excuse. Hope some one kabwe is far from solwezi
we need total change at FAZ
zambia will qualify no mata wat
i will fire kalusha if he dribbles me and my boss
In Zambia we always support mediocrity!A lot of things at FAZ stinks!I doubt issues are about Kalusha as a person but his administration capabilties or lack of it! He should have accepted the EGM when it was first called!
Every elected leader swears to uphold the constitution when they get voted into office.Immediately one abragates the constitution, there must be consequences! We should not allow the constitution to be abrograted to suit a situation or an individual! It is wrong! That is why I envy the British, when one is wrong is wrong no matter who that person is!
Simataa stried to run football but failed and resigned on his own. What diference is he going to brinng in now that football has become more technical? What has kamanga done at Kabwe worriors other than bosting that he has financial muscle? Its high time we started judging people by past performance in football. In one of the papers there commentagainst Kalu from a Mr. Sichongwe of pemba. This guy has no history of football even at Pemba his name does not appear any where in pemba football cirlcles. Lets be serious with what we want
Simataa tried to run football but failed and resigned on his own. What diference is he going to brinng in now that football has become more technical? What has kamanga done at Kabwe worriors other than bosting that he has financial muscle? Its high time we started judging people by past performance in football. In one of the papers there comment against Kalu from a Mr. Sichongwe of pemba. This guy has no history of football even at Pemba his name does not appear any where in pemba football cirlcles. Lets be serious with what we want football to be. To be frank with you Kalu has done a lot and if we are discontent with him i love we do it honorably by voting hime out at an AGM and not bringing pararrell meetings as if we are Mad No.
#22 & #23 – My issue with Kalu’s administration has nothing to do with whether he’s being challenged or not. I don’t even care who succeeds him or which camp they come from, as long as they are up to the task. Folks let’s face it; running FAZ from outside Zambia is just absurd – whoever does it. And rushing through a training session with your national team to catch an SA-bound flight for an appearance on SS is no patriotism at all! Before we condon #23’s justification of this behaviour (however far back it happened) it would be interesting to know if Kalu himself acknowledges it as degrading of his own country. So let’s not reduce the issue to hatred or anyone being bought. And quite honestly if anyone were to buy another the most likely thing is that I’d be buying one of them or…
What seems to be lost in this fiasco is why did the four Faz commitee members quit ? It just happens that Kalu is the president .
Great Kalu is de man 4 de job whether u like it or not. Chi-Simataa and his team are so desperate to benefit from what kalu has brought to FAZ coffers. All those have followed Zambian soccer for a long time know that FAZ had bin broke for a long and that it could not attract any deals. When Great Kalu was voted into office things have changed …monies have come because of reputation and connections. Let the man finish his term of office in dignified manner. Go Kalu Go… i will support to it the end not these *****s simataa and co.
Sad that only mediocre will attract its own and those upstanding and well meaning Zambians are calling for early elections in FAZ. Kalu has failed period. You do not need an AGM to know this….do a rough check with current and previous players of the national team.
I think the simataa camp ****ed up by going the route of setting up a parallel structure . They should have waited for the AGM to prove their popularity with a no confidence vote . Maybe they are part of the scam .
This was chess at the highest level. The govt was probably on kalus side by organizing a parallel meeting in Lusaka so that Kalu could have checkmated kamanga by going ahead with copperbelt meeting. A move that would have impressed the late chess grand master Bobby Fischer. However, Kalu decided to act as a nice girl.
He may not have admin skills but he seems to be a better option in many ways. Leadership is not just admin but many attributes and no one has all of them. His sacrifice and passion to lead zambian football should be greatly appreciated especially that he has nothing to lose. We need him more than he needs us.
Tiye nayo!! This time around the venue is kabwe, at least no one will blame us (Kalushans).
Tukamaona icibemba nga cikatunlandilako ant imbwa pamyabo epo ikalipa.
Last weekend kalu scored a free kick, I am ver sure he is going to score another one in Kabwe (hime ground for Kamaga).
Rgds,
Winson.
Kalu Viva viva . Kabwe here we come. No excuses Kamanga & Simataa garner your so much talked support i can rest assure you gentlemen Kalu will wire you clean………
Just wait…..
