Opposition Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata says the PF is ready to welcome any member of any political party to the party.
Mr. Sata says the party will consider any member who intends to join the opposition on their merit.
In an interview with QFM, Mr. Sata says even chief government spokesperson Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha and vice president George Kunda are welcome to join the opposition Patriotic Front if they decided to do so.
The PF Leader says it is for this reason that the party has no membership cards hence putting it on a strong position.

Former MMD chairman for elections Mike Mulongoti says it is hypocritical for Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata to claim that the ruling party is taking long to develop the country when he failed to deliver meaningful development to the country when he served as Cabinet minister.
Mr Mulongoti was reacting to Mr Sata’s statement that the MMD has overstayed in Government and that it has run out of ideas on how to effectively run the affairs of the nation.
Mr Sata also said at a rally in Lusaka on Sunday that President Banda has introduced Zambians to poverty by allegedly failing to run the affairs of the nation.

Mr Mulongoti dismissed insinuations that the ruling party has run out of ideas on how to run the country, saying it has initiated a number of development programmes which have helped to improve the living standards of people.
Mr Mulongoti said the people of Zambia cannot continue to be cheated by Mr Sata that he will develop the nation within 90 days if he is ushered into office as president when he has allegedly failed to deliver improved service delivery in some PF-controlled councils.
“Zambians have seen for themselves how the PF-controlled councils have failed to provide improved social amenities to the people, but Mr Sata is again politicking that he can deliver development to the people of Zambia.
“People should not be cheated by this type of cheap politics because they are coming from politicians who failed to deliver when they were in power, and just a reminder, the 90 days they promised the people has passed but we have not seen any development in the PF-controlled councils,” he said.
Mr Mulongoti said the people of Zambia should stop listening to Mr Sata because he has shifted his concentration and attention to unnecessary issues at the expense of development.
He said Zambians should stop listening to Mr Sata because he has worsened the status of the country’s social sector because of his incessant attacks on President Banda and his administration.
“Mr Sata should not be trusted because he failed to deliver because of his inability to set the right priority for national development when he was in Government,” Mr Mulongoti said.
He urged Zambians to support President Banda and his administration in the 2011 tripartite elections.
“We are advising all well-meaning Zambians not to waste their votes by voting for the opposition. The only candidate we have to support is President Banda who has demonstrated remarkable leadership from the time he became President of this nation to date,” Mr Mulongoti said.
Disclose Your Sickness, Sata Challenged
GOVERNMENT has challenged Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata to make public the results of medical tests he underwent on September 8, 2008 before he can continue to malign others.
But Mr Sata said the diseases which were detected after the tests had been treated and declared that he was ready to disclose the type of diseases in the presence of Mike Mulongoti.
Mr Mulongoti who is acting chief Government spokesperson said in Lusaka yesterday that he had been forced to challenge Mr Sata after observing careless talk on the health condition of Government leaders.
Come on guys, have a bit of sense of hunour! This guy is good at humour! You must be a sad chap not to have noticed that! Fundamentally, there is nothing wrong in what he is saying – no political party sends away prospective members, especially politicial heavyweights. However, this was said also to lighten moments. Mr Mulongoti said the Government was in possession of all medical records for Mr Sata mainly carried out at a medical centre in Lusaka.
He said after Vice-President George Kunda’s trip to South Africa for medical reviews, Mr Sata talked ill believing that the Government was merely threatening when it continuously said it had results of Mr Sata’s medical tests.
Mr Mulongoti challenged Mr Sata to deny that he conducted medical tests in September 2008 before he can start talking ill about other people’s health conditions.
“As Government we want to respect the rule that medical records are a private matter between the patient and the doctor and we want it to remain like that. I will not disclose anything further but let him continue, he will see what we will do,” Mr Mulongoti said.
He said details of medical tests should be disclosed to the public by Mr Sata to allow people make their own judgment on his fitness in comparison with the people he was maligning.
Mr Mulongoti, who is Minister of Works and Supply said the Government was ready to debate the matter until Mr Sata accepted that it should be rested and asked him to disclose the status of his health so that other leaders could do the same.

One Michael Chilufya Sata, alias King Cobra’s political thinking does not surprise me or any right thinking Zambian for that matter. Let it be known for the fact it is: Mr Sata has never been endorsed through a party convention as the PF president. His PF party has never held a single convention as is the norm for democracy in political parties.He made himself president after forming PF in 2001, and forming PF after becoming bitter that FTJ decided to propose late Levy as MMD presidential aspirant for the 2001 elections. He formed the PF with a view that he would become republican president in 2001. However, this was not to be, for the next 10 years he failed to become president. 10 years is a good time for PF to have tried to hold a convention, but it has never happened. The way it is, its like going to start grade eight without passing grade seven. you need to be endorsed (pass) to go to grade eight, simple as that.

He is abusing medical advice in the same way he trashes his political advisers. Asking Shikapwasha & Kunda to join PF is strange behaviour – HALLUCINATIONS. Sata destroyed the PF/UPND pact that could have helped him survive half-way. He treated his partner (HH) as an under-5. In fact UPND realised too early that their followers were to be used as mere HORSES because Sata had already hatched a Shadow Cabinet which excluded HH and his top brass. This exclusion formular extended to Given Lubanda as Sata condiders PF to belong to the Bemba dynasty – a concept that has invaded thinking of some tribal academics at some universities.

“The PF in Nkana Constituency is dead. MrSata is a bad man who should not be entrusted with the governance of the country. We have never held any meeting in the last three months, and yet we are in an election year.
“We will give President Banda 100 percent support in this year’s elections, and we are calling on Zambians to vote for the MMD government,” Chungu said.
