Over K300million has been set aside to compensate people in Senanga District who have been displaced to pave way for the construction of the Sesheke -Senanga Road in Western province.
Twenty seven households have so far benefited from the funds.
Road Development Agency -RDA- Spokesperson Loyce Saili disclosed this to ZNBC News in Senanga District.
She says most people are being compensated for the loss of their homes and crops.
Ms Saili says people being compensated have been affected by the realignment of the Sesheke-Senanga Road.
The Sesheke -Senanga road is being constructed at a cost of over K7 billion.

This entails luck of strategy. Why didnt they wait for the harvest before starting road work instead of destroying crops.
Zambians are the most downtrodden people I know. They epitomize exploitation of man by man.
nubian ,,,,, an ungrateful pig/boar.

They cant wait for the harvest time because they dont care whether people suffer or not, what is important for them is to make sure the campaign project starts before elections. and 300 million Kwacha is what will be paid as compensation.how many families are we talking about here?this amount is meant for one or atleast two families. Puting down a house and destroying fields for people is not a simple matter. Irrespective of the size of the house, just incoviniecing people who have leaved in those houses for many years is what matters.Infact some us where born in those little hurts.
K11.1m a family? That’s peanuts they are surely entitled to more. And you want these people to vote for you. They may only be peasants but human rights should come into this.
Pathetic… They are suddenly in such a hurry because of elections! After elections all projects suddenly will run out of money…. and the excuse will be “Ooh, how can you forget that we used the resources to run our elections!” Vote them out!
They cant wait until the harvest time coz it will leave them with very little time until the next rainy season and so postepone work until next year. K11.1 at village level that is a jackpot have you been to rural Zambia. lets not criticise just for sake of it!!
The MMD government is without doubt inhuman and exploitative, taking advantage of the starving,
poor and uneducated villagers to displace them is crime against humanity. This figure of K300 million is nothing even for one family. The MMD is dangerously desparate to win the elections and will stop at nothing in their dirty campaigns. This is disgusting.
Can PF cadres support any developmental project?
If that road is not tarred now, you can as well forgate about it. So let the road be done please.
bane ni ku munzi uko 11 million is not nothing and its not like all the families have lost houses\:d/\:d/
@ # 6 – You talk sense. All projects have time frame. K11 million in rural is jackpot. Just a muddy house and some other ramshackle. We need better roads.
