Spotlight on Issac Chansa

Share

We continue to take a look at our players who are representing us very well at the on-going AFCON.  Here is a look at the career of Issac Chansa

From 2004 to 2007, Chansa  played for South African giants Orlando Pirates and joined Swedish team Helsingborgs IF for the 2007/2008 season to team up with former Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter. In late 2006, while still playing for Pirates, Chansa was banned by the PSL for three months (nine suspended) after he was found guilty of assaulting an assistant referee during Pirates’ clash against Jomo Cosmos. After the end of his contract in Sweden with Helsingborgs IF returned on 1 February 2010 to his former club Orlando Pirates.

International career

He was part of the Zambian 2006 African Nations Cup team, who finished third in group C in the first round of competition, thus failing to secure qualification for the quarter-finals. He is part of the 2012 AFCON squad .

  1. Go boys go!!! Ghana azadabwa mailo.they too take us as underdogs but they will cry even worse than Senegal bcoz its gona be 3:1

  2. :-? Isaac…Started playing football at 6? Very unzambian. He is now younger than his third born young sister. Why do we always reduce our age without caution?

    • OMG quit analysing pipo’s ages already!!!!! what is it to you??? Age aint nothin but a number, it aint affecting how he is playing????????? Geeeezzzzzz, quit already!!!!! y’all need to concentrate on the football, it aint none of your business how old he is…..his passport probably says he is 27 years old. every blog where there is a mention of a player’s age, pipo are quick to comment that he is lying (y’all think the zambian team is full of players faking their ages……seriously its getting old!!!!!!!!!!! BTW don’t take this personally as it addresses alot of pipo on LT blog, your was the final straw though! Zambia to win tomoro. zambia! zambia! zambia!!!!!!!

  3. Toyatoya that doesnt matter
in football. Are yu saying yu are hearing this for the firsttime even in overseas clubs these is are happening,

  4. Zambia is a good side, let Rena work on the mid there are slitly slagish. They also get tired so quickly and get disorganised. However,Zambia will win.Good luck boys, its your time.Katongo,Mayuka,Mwene,Kalaba,Chamanga

    • @9 i was hammering some ***** for posting something not related to this story.i can’t see that posting now.sorry fellow bloggers. it doesn’t mean what it seems.GO ZAMBIA GOALLLLLLL

  5. Chansa is the weakest link in our midfield not to mention the team. But since he is Kalu’s favorite no prizes for guessing why he is constantly called to the squad. The guy is complacent on the ball and moved at half speed so if we meet a worthy opppnent our midfield will new terribly exposed!

    • you are lying!!!!Chansa and Nathan are the ones doing most in the midfield. if you dont understand football be quite!!!
