Zambia Under-20 on Saturday launch their campaign for a place at the 2013 African Youth Championship when they face Mali in Kitwe.
This second round,first leg qualifier at Arthur Davies Stadium will be played amid the current three-day national mourning being observed in honour of former first lady Mama Betty Kaunda who died on Wednesday.
On Friday, Faz announced that the game would go ahead as planned despite the national mourning.
“The Under-20 Africa Cup qualifier match between Zambia and Mali will go ahead as scheduled on 22 September at Arthur Davies
Stadium in Kitwe starting at 15:00 hours,” read a statement from Faz.
The statement added that a moment of silence will be observed before kick off in honour of Mama Betty while Zambian players will wear black arm bands during the match.
This is the first competitive match Zambia will be playing since December 2011.
Mali reached this stage after eliminating Rwanda 4-2 on aggregate while Zambia went through after Lesotho’s withdraw.
