Zambia Prepare for Tanzania

The Zambia National Soccer Team is this Saturday expected to regroup in Lusaka head of the 22 December, friendly against Tanzania away in East Africa.
Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard on Sunday named a 25-member team that will face the Taifa Stars.
The squad however does not include any South Africa-based players although clubless defender Kampamba Chintu is in the team.

And midfielder Chisamba Lungu of FC Ural in Russia is the only European based player in the team to face Tanzania.

The full squad:

Goalkeeper: Joshua Titima (Power Dynamos), Daniel Munyau (Red Arrows), Kalililo Kakonje (Napsa Stars), Dave Kayumbwa (Green Buffaloes)

Defenders: Francis Kasonde, Stopilla Sunzu, Hichani Himonde (All TP Mazembe, DR Congo)Jimmy Chisenga, Tindi Mwanza (Both Red Arrows), Kampamba Chintu (Unattached), Derrick Mwansa (Nkwazi), Salulani Phiri (Zanaco)

Midfielders: Isaac Chansa (Henan Jianye, China), Rainford Kalaba, Jonas Sakuwaha (Both TP Mazembe, DR Congo), Felix Katongo (Primero de Agosto, Angola), Chisamba Lungu FC Ural, Russia), Roderick Kabwe (Kabwe Warriors),  Shadreck Malambo (Red Arrows), Mukuka Mulenga (Power Dynamos)

Strikers: Christopher Katongo (Henan Jianye, China), Moses Phiri (Zanaco), James Chamanga (Dalian Shide, China), Evans Kangwa (Nkana), Given Singuluma (TP Mazembe, DR Congo)

  1. Another pointless friendly with a lowly ranked team in the offering…keep up the good work our great king Kalu and his brilliant minds in Football House.

  2. This might be misconstrued as an easy game. But I can see how it gives our boys a chance to pick up a morale boosting win. Going into a more competitive set of tougher fixtures against Norway & Morocco, we can’t be coming into those with another lackluster performance. Plus Tanzania might have some common pattern about them as our first Afcon ’13 opponents Ethiopia being from Cecafa too
