The Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) Ndola District Secretariat says it fully supports party President Nevers Mumba because he was duly elected.
Speaking at the party headquarters in Ndola today, District Chairman Bruno Mukare said MMD Ndola district members will not allow anyone to destroy the party.
Mr Mukare said those members that want to bring confusion in the party should leave.
He added that Ndola district was not in support of party members that are passing a vote of no confidence in Dr Mumba.
“We as Ndola district secretariat are ready to fight those that want to bring confusion in the party,” he said.
Meanwhile, MMD Women’s representative in Ndola Nelly Mumba has appealed to Catherine Namugala to leave the party peacefully.
She said Ms Namugala should not destroy the party and that she should give respect to party officials in the National Executive Committee (NEC).
Mrs Mumba has appealed to the party NEC to expel Catherine Namugala from the party before she destroys it.

When a host is sick, the parasites suffers! These calls for more expulsions from the MMD should not be blamed on PF when the party goes into extinction. Most of these so called MMD Die-hard’s are nothing but a batch of lazy people who have been using the MMD as a meal ticket. The MMD financial position is weak because of RB, and this finger pointing is just weakening the party further. The MMD has made 2 consecutive major errors in choosing it’s party leaders, bringing in 2 leaders from outside the party at the expense of homegrown leaders and the worst part is that the so called leaders comes from extinct parties you only find in the archives. RB should have been a warning, a genuinely elected leader cannot lose his popularity in 2 years!

A serious analysis offers the conclusion that Dr. Nevers Mumba has passed the test of leadership at national level. In spite of Govt vicious harassments on his person, Dr. Mumba has proved to be resilient and consistent in words and actions. Genuine MMD members must rally and support him 100% under these trying moments when the nation needs an honest voice that speaks for the plight of the people irrespective of their political affiliation. Even some PF members are privately beginning to respect Nevers Mumba.s leadership qualities.

Namugala wants to leave the party, but she is feeling shy to resign hence her behaviour so that she is fired. What Nevers should do is just slap Namugala with an indefinity suspension and forget about her.
