A Veteran politician has pledged to render assistance towards the Patriotic Front in their campaign ahead of the Livingstone parliamentary by-elections slated for February 28.

In an interview with ZANIS yesterday, veteran politician Daniel Munkombwe has vowed to support the ruling Patriotic Front saying it is the party with democratic principles and values.

Mr Munkombwe stated that he does not need to make any submissions of application to help the PF with election campaigns.

He noted that what he has only decided to do is to throw himself into the game and assist the ruling Patriotic Front because other parties have nothing to offer.

“I am readily available to embark on a serious election campaign for PF because am already paddling in the boat with the Patriotic Front,” Munkombwe said.

He indicated that he is merely playing a citizenry role of practising democracy by choosing which side seems ideal for him.

On Wednesday, Media and Publicity director for the ruling Patriotic Front Chanda Mfula said that the PF would wait for official communication from Mr Munkombwe regarding assisting the party with campaigns ahead of the set Parliamentary by-elections in Livingstone.

  1. Yaba…Sebana Wikute no bukote. UNIP he was there, MMD he was there now he wants to migrate to PF? Shameless old man..pricipleless. Come UPND he will be there, MMD wins again he will be there. How can a country develop like this surely? NO NEW IDEAS.

  2. Shameful old man not for supporting PF as that is his democratic right but for being unprincipled. Monkombwe befits as one of the national figures in politics whose role would have been to counsel the youths in improving and shaping democracy for future posterity- a legacy his great, grand children would live to remember him well. Unfortunately he chooses to be a PF cadre- what a pitful tragedy.

  3. Yes sir it is your democratic right.Nobody has the right to question your reason just like everyone has reasons why they support the party`s they give their allegiance to.

  4. It is really sad to see such unprincipled behaviour from an elderly figure like Munkombwe. My advice to people of Livingstone is that they should ignore him as he has contributed nothing to this country throughout the 40+ years the tax payers have been looking him. What has changed now?

  5. well, there is honey in pf, but eat it with careful ba shikulu, mukwae let you be normal and help the country positively, don’t put your tummy first,,get to hell

  6. Some of these old and irrelevant people called “political veterans” should just kick the bucket and leave us. We need sanity on the political arena.

  7. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTING IN LIFE. BA MUNKOMBWE IS ONE OF THEM.

HE SIMPLY AMUSES ME BUT I WILL NOT JUDGE HIM AS HE IS MY BIG MAN. I LEAVE THIS TO GOD.

THOSE OF YOU CALLING HIM NAMES MUST KNOW THAT GOD LOVES ALL OF US INCLUDING THIEVES. THEN, HOW CAN YOU CALL AN OLD MAN NAMES, INDICATING THAT GOD MADE A MISTAKE!!!

GOD NEVER MAKES MISTAKES AND YOUR INDICATING SO IS BLASPHEMOUS!!

VIVA MUNKOMBWE MAY GOD CONTINUE HIS MERCY AND GRACE UPON YOU.

  8. THE GOOD THING ABOUT EXPRESSING ONESELF IS:

WHAT YOU SAY IS EITHER RUBBISH OR MATERIAL WORTH READING. NOTHING IN BETWEEN.

THAT INCLUDES WHAT I AM SAYING HERE.

  9. Ba Munkombwe kaka, hanene ninzi shashupa. Sena mali ngomuyanda ku PF. We can help you. Please promote good governance in our country. History will judge you. God bless. Politics of poverty can not build Zambia. Very dissapointed by the old man. He is lost.

  10. Munkombwe is not a factor any more. He will tarnish the PF campaigns. Let him keep his zeal aside. UNIP politics are long gone. Isnt there anything else he can do for a living ?

    • I beg to agree with you. I think he’s a tired man. Moreover, he quivers a lot. Why didn’t he support PF earlier? Please don’t let this old man tarnish the image of the PF!

  11. yayayaaa…Politics a game of hide and seek. Now Munkombwe is seeking PF which he talked evil against. These politicians are just useless people and those who have kept their lives in them are equally useless. This aside, I think what he has said on the opposition is true—there is no opposition in Zambia.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  12. These negative comments against the big man is a sign of panic.why are u concerned if bo munkombwe is a spent force.those of u who present yourselves to b politically wise y are u failing to send your HH to plot one.
