Outspoken Catholic Priest Fr. Frank Bwalya has been urged to stop attacking the PF government in the media.
PF Lusaka District Chairman Goodson Banda said Fr. Bwalya should stop behaving like a football referee who issues out red cards to players on the field of play whenever they cause fouls.
Mr. Banda said the PF still views Fr. Bwalya as a friend of the party adding that there is no need to attack the PF government in the media.
“We have taken note of the things he has said about our party but we disagree with him completely. He can’t compare the PF to the MMD, we are very different entities,” Mr. Banda stated.
He added, “Fr. Bwalya should know that he doesn’t carry the minds of Zambians in his pocket. Zambians can make up their own minds about how things are going and Zambians today are happy with President Michael Sata.”
Mr. Banda said Fr. Bwalya always has access to top PF leaders including President Michael Sata where he could express his grievances than rushing to the media.
“Rushing to the media will not help him. He knows where the party leadership is and he should just go there and present his grievances than attacking the party in the media,” he said.
“Every organisation has problems and we also have problems in the PF, even the Church where he is coming from has problems but we don’t hear about such problems in the media. As PF we want to treat the Church as partners but they need to recognise that we have the mandate of the people until 2016.”
Mr. Banda was speaking in an interview in reaction to Fr. Bwalya’s explanation that he resigned as ZESCO Board Chairman in order to freely criticise the PF government whenever it makes mistakes.
mr banda let Fr Bwalya do what he wants when he was supporting pf you were very happy now that his eyes are open and he bsees the wrong that your doing you want him to stop? Fr Bwalya is a free man and he has seen the sin he had done in supporting sata and his pf that is not going anywere.
Some wrong attitudes in PF;
1.) The culture of kneeling, prostrating on the ground, wearing Sata chitenge materials… all these are forms of here worshiping.
2.)The culture of “I won’t bring development to your area if you don’t vote for me.” You need to be leaders of all people regardless of whether they voted for you.
3.)The culture of Tribalism against Tongas, Lozi’s and North westerners
4.) The culture of bullying and arresting Opposition leaders
5.) The culture of rigging elections
6.) The culture of dirty streets in Lusaka and other towns… Garbage Heaps on Lumumba road is not Normal in civilized parts of the world.
7.) The culture of paying allowances to leaders when they travel to America, China, Britain and other places. How do you idio…ts justify that???
Goose meet gander.
chaona muzako fr bwalya is right
Well, it is turu that he does not carry the minds of Zambians in his pocket. So, even as he expresses his views he should know that not everyone may agree with his approach. And he should not just do some of these things for the fun of it. Aslo he should know that you cannot bring development in a country where people are always protesting. You have seen what is happening in Egypt. Egyptians have brought down there own country because of perpetual protests in the streets. so really lets protest constructively. Some of us have children, he may not have any so we view things differently.
Read Bwalya’s story you will understand him well than just criticizing him for the sake of criticising. Read between the lines you will surely understand him. Let the the ruling party be reminded of their mistakes.
Why do you want to be criticised in secret when you criticise your friends openly and in the media?
@Ganizani… just imagine to criticised in secret dark corners!! the question is why?.. we all want to hear everything about our government…. after all its a government for all zambians
look guys fr bwalya is not right, honestly speaking if fr bwalya was or want to speak and help the nation, the question is why quitting the job ?instead of working hard and make sure they stop corruption at the company, yes talk ,talk will never or not take him anywhere, if talk for the nation why not work for the nation, lets do things with actions and not talking for not going anywhere, too much talkative will him looks unless person,he talks like a woman and some women don’t even talk like him.
Bwalya is right no doubt about it. understand him he has got a point.
Frank Bwalya has come back to his senses, he realized that he cannot work with vultures and hyenas. So let his speak his mind.
HH:
You don’t know what the man has tried and has proven to not work. He probably opted to take the issues to the streets because the people he expected to address the concerns were not listening. Instead, they were trying to sweep things under the carpet.
A toad does not hope about in day light unless something is pursuing it or it is pursuing something. Wait until Bwalya spills the beans.
Did you watch the whole interview or you were just told? I don’t see anything wrong with what he said. He resigned because he wanted to criticise govt freely, in short govt is a player and a referee. It is common knowledge that you can never bite the finger that feeds you. No wonder banda is saying Fr Bwalya should not criticise govt in the media unless in the secret dark.
chiwamila GALU (PF) ….
That stand is anti-transparency which is required of any democratic govt.
PF is a kid party they cry foul at every small thing. To hell with them
iwe milesGBMsatan, good point but that name is associated with PF,so change it,kawalala iwe
i think we have a big problem as Zambians Father bwalya all what he’s saying is that he still believe in pF but certain things are not going well and he has failed to get access to the top leadership hence going to the press.
Yes sir you are very right thank you.
The shoes is now on the other side Koseni nankwe umupatili uyu
Ba Banda lekeni ukutupa. Let the man of people speak. We loved PF because we thought PF would deliver. We have not lost hope completely in PF.Fr Bwalya is right and has a lot of support from Zambians.I’m a PF member but i support Fr.Bwalya on this one.Ba Sata should be careful.PF has made HH a bit popular because of arresting him everytime. For me it doesn’t make sense as a strong supporter of PF.Let us be principled as Zambians.Ba letusebanya ama misnisters. This one makes a statement 2morrow another one say crazy things(Bob Sinchinga & Acting president Edger Lungu). It seems ministers don’t communicate. It is so shameful..Be careful Ba Banda.Catholics are so powerful.Mind U we respect father Bwalya in C/belt,luapula,Muchinga,nothern province n part of Central.Mwituka Fr.Bwalya .
Fr Bwalya’s behavior is protected in the CONSTITUTION (unless you suspended it when you assumed governance). He has a RIGHT (not a privilege) to express himself and that will not be taken away. Every human being has a RIGHT to change his or her mind based on his or her own convictions. Enough said, Banda…
But PF does not respect the Constitution.
Fr.Bwalya is.right,u wil see wat wil happen very soon.Watch dis space
Another nasty accident in Chibombo district. The driver of the bus lost control after a tyre burst and rammed on an oncoming truck (Wheels of Africa) and several times it is believed that the mini bus driver over speeding. I will post some photos soon. Even the 3 passengers taken to liteta hospital are unlikely to survive.
mudala send de pics en any mo details which mayb of help
mulekeni umuntu namuna ububi mu govnt let him speak for us
Mr Banda, you are laying too 🙁 who told you all Zambians are happy with the way the pf is governing the country? personally I’m not ! So don’t speak on my behalf because I didn’t appoint you as my spokes man.
Faith & love without work is dead. Fr. Bwalya you are a man of God & understand this well. You prefer to talk than to serve the nation through the opportunity you were given to work on ZESCO board to change the country. Talking is not an industry, get to work. Talking to please, international organizations like C/Wealth instead of Zambians is selfishness. Democracy is expensive & you can’t avoid bye elections in democracy. Have pity on these oppressed MPs who can’t make their on decisions & serve the people because of their undemocratic parties which want only the interests of their presidents to be served & you want them continue being grilled with the same parties forever? Don’t fear, advise Sata directly not through the press since you know him personally? Matthew 14:1-12.
I just call him Bwalya and not a father because is no better than any crook with double standards. If truly he thought he would not work freely under PF government, why in first place accepted the offer to serve as Zesco Board Chaiman.
The appointment was with the view to serve the company and the nation at large deligenly by providing guidance and intill that sense of fear of God in all dealings.
But now when I look at Mr Bwalya is just like a snake in the grass and showed cowardness and though am not a judge ,I do not even think God can give hlm a chance to become a President.
Those chosen by God do not look like Bwalya as he is not even honest to himself.
Paul P. C
Botswana
Ever tried working with corrupt people? He probably noticed everyone there is so corrupt therefore he was working alone and going nowhere. You can not bring brighter new ideas they frustrate you.
Simply fr Bwalya resigned because he could not pocket much in the PF govt.
we where warned by ba chanda chishimba in Stand up for Zambia program, we never wanted to listen instead we started demonizing ba chanda. Ba fr frank bwalya, you wanted change and this is the change we are into. we are reaping what we wanted.
Sad for zambia
Kwatifye umukalamba uyu mwalibako nakabungwa panono mwe.Mwati paliba ukuibela sana ? I doubt it.
Ladies and gentlemen, may be you have not read Fr. Bwalya’s story properly. Fr. Bwalya wanted a reward to go study law abroad. He didnt appreciate the ZESCO job, how many Clegy men supported the cause and have been rewarded? He had the capacity to seek audience with the authority BUT decided to go to the media to criticize. He just wants to be President and Zambian people know about it, just welcome him in the game. But he should not use the catholic church to fight his battles.
Umupatili speaks too much just like Pastor Nevers Mumba and that’s wat we say. Can someone pliz tell me how these servans of God can go coz we tend to criticise them that they talk too much (mix politics with the Gospel ).
Fr Bwalya said that people don’t respect him anymore, adding that people who were courting him to serve on international boards are having second thoughts because they feel he has been compromised as a result of negative reports on him by some newspapers
Fr Bwalya lishilu, the man is championing his own selfish agenda. He should come out in the open and tell the nation who is he representing by his unnecessary rantings? Just form your own party like Mike and enter political fighting ring than hiding in the name of the church and pretending to be speaking for the voiceless yet not. After realising that you could not contribute anything sensible at the power company, hence your resignation. Do more work and less talking, Zambia needs pragmatic people to sought out the many problems we are facing. Don’t just jump at any opportunity and rush to the media to be heard that Bwalya is talking, who are you talking for, definitely not zambians? Please find time to read the bible there is alot of wisdom in doing so, than polticking all the time.
Fr bwalya has asked u to stop arresting opposition members any how. Can u respond rather than shut him up. Sata wasn’t arrested when he called people cabbage, chiwelewele etc now you don’t want to be called names. You must know its part of the game
I do not know what happens to people when they start to ‘eat’. They lose their senses because the food (money) is so sweet…they start halusinating like this Banda fellow.
Fr Bwalya may be a confused priest. He first resign and go public about why he resigned. Now he plans to go for ’40 days prayer and fasting. I think this doing it the wrong way. He was suppose to first ‘fast and pray for 40 day’, hear from God and then act. I’m not suprised though. Guys like father Bwalya have the ‘Sin now and ask for forgiveness later’ policy
When a distinguished satirist described Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) as ‘cabbage’, well the MMD government tried to have the satirist deported. That does not sound very patriotic. In return, the satirist was called ‘Prof. Chiwelewele’ or something to that effect. Sometimes it is better to avoid political provocation. Ever heard of ‘agent provocateur’? Well, that is exactly what is happening around us. hate speech can lead to violence. Peace is very patriotic.
A confused, directionless- priest.
firstly you *****s better know and understand that we are not happy with PF…..Sadly the opposition is not formidable enough. Banda or whatever you call yourself don’t be fooled, your fellow clowns will be spending their time in the courts when they get out of power
Ati ‘ ALL ZANBIANS ARE HAPPY WITH PF” . I have never heard such rubbish in a long time
Umupatili should not forget his calling after all. We should also not confuse fr Bwalya to the church because whatever he does and says is his own making and not sanctioned by the church. It is important to criticize but he should also suggest solutions not ukulabosa kwati nimbwa lyonsense. He should also criticize all the political players not only the ruling party. Umupatili is supposed to show fairness in his work and criticism!
He can’t compare the PF to the MMD, we are very different entities,” Mr. Banda stated. 99.99% of PF members are former MMD. Honestly how can’t these two be compared? I suspect even comrade Banda is from MMD. Strange, indeed.
Sata is from MMD, so what is different?
Sata is from UNIP too!
wanyawanya go to Zambia Watchdog. sad
“We have taken note of the things he has said about our party but we disagree with him completely. He can’t compare the PF to the MMD, we are very different entities,” Mr. Banda stated.
O fcourse they are different. The PF are corrupt and are just a pack of Gremlins out to destroy instead of develop.
Where is the difference between MMD and PF?
None.
One set of plunderers in MMD has been replaced with another set of plunderers from PF.
ichisosa chipa amano! ndeloleshyafyeeeee…………..!!!!!
Chindix or Ponoz fr Bwalya
Father Bwalya should continue with these attacks because he is only speaking the truth, and the truth hurts. This muppet called Goodson Banda should take a back a chill pill and stop allowing himself to be a dogs body.
Father Bwalya is right, the problem is that there is no one right now to replace PF. MMD is shrinking, UPND is very tribal and inconsiderate of other tribes(based on facts), and NAREP which is a promising party 4 any principled zambian isn’t marketing itself. 🙁

Very true! NAREP, it’s time to market yourselves now. Try diffentiating yourselves from the bunch of dirty politicians/tribalists by demonstrating good leadership skills and accomodating other tribes fairly, Zambia has 70 plus tribes not just tongas or bemba’s!!!
Ine pano nintemwa sana shi Mapepo nafuma muli bwato. pantu fwe bena mwense ku copperbelt kuno natunaka naba kapoli mu post nweshipaper notu nankwe tubena minions nchito naka lya ka summer rainfall.
naba teka shikulu kwati icipato. kwena 2016 tukeshako ulyo umwaume at hechi hechi.
The truth really is that we have no one to replace the PF. Just look at MMD & UPND, the 2 parties can’t unite,Y? tribalism, corruption, satanism/masonary, gay chaps/supporters, pastors, money undertakers the list is endless!! PF could have been booted out of office instantly!!!!
But why should MMD and UPND unite? Your PF rascals will be removed. So you better start looking for another job sucker!
Are you trying to say that gays are excluded from the Constitutional provisions as to the protection of Fundamental Rights? If that is the case, to call you either stupid or ***** would be to pay you the compliment which sub-standard specie of maggot like you are below human understanding.
If that is the position of PF, leave the UN which is organization of civilized Nations with clear Charter of Human Rights and go alone.
“He can’t compare the PF to the MMD, we are very different entities,” Of course you different entities Mr. Banda and that’s how we can compare the two; one against the other POLITICAL PARTY!!! We cannot compare MMD to MMD its impossible. Iskulu he is lacking Iskulu
Where is the difference between MMD and PF?
None.
One set of plunderers in MMD has been replaced with another set of plunderers from PF.
So Cathoric church pulpits campaigned for PF sata to change government in Zambia. We await to hear their observations on the performance of PF governance to the nations. The chief campaigner so far has apologised for dictatorial altitude of Sata in arresting opposition party leaders. The Cathoric church did consent to what Sata was doing/ doing to Zambians. We await the Chathoric church on its stand on this matter of the man they supported.
i rememba 1 editorial of de… it went like “…wen God wants 2 detroys a person, he strts by blinding tht person…” a Banda go & learn wat ths sttment means-Zambians r stl suffering excpt u wh r close 2 de authorities tht b
nakulaloleshafye…
Mr Goodson Banda must have his head examined. Who tells him that Zambians are happy with Sata? And why criticise Fr Bwalya for using the media, isn’t PF and its rotten government using the media to attack the speechless and weak Zambians? Banda should not behave as if he is in another world. Every single day the PF and its leadership are attacking others through the media. What Fr Bwalya has done is pay the PF in their own coin. Let Banda just shut up if he can’t take Fr Bwalya’s resignation from the Zesco board. We the majority are happy because it is proof that the PF is failing to manage the affairs of state. A third force is looming and will obliterate the PF from the face of the earth. Just wait and see. The PF is a one-man party and cannot stand in times of turbulance.
Ba PF you created your own Julius Malema!! Deal with him.
How can Sata be upset over Kapinga at state house, just think for a moment if he was in opposition and someone else gets upset over such issues, when people are dying on the road every day, farmers have not been paid yet, Ba sata you did a better job in opposition than in office, what happened to the 90 days or did you mean 90 years. talk is cheap mudala
Indeed; how you view the world depends on where you are standing….today the PF don’t like Fr Bwalya’s views when they incorporated him in their campaigns to oust the MMD. I dont know much about this man but I like his approach-providing checks and balances against government
Father Bwalya is far much than HH because he points at a wrongand not hate………Give it a try…..who knows may be you may be you are the best to succeed the existing ……..
Shut up! Go vote for your Father Bwalya, no one is stopping you after all he is Bemba. So now it is Nevers, Elias or Frank for you! Typical Bemba voter!
uwawa tabula kabepesho….& somtims th way we correct a mistake its also a mistake. Fr. Bwalya sit down wit yo friend sata & sort out issues, who knws may be u re th next to rule zed.
While we must criticise the pf govt but i doubt the sincerity of Bwalya. To me he sounds childish and disappointed 4 not who knows, not given what he expected. By de time Mumba & Hh were detained de situation allowed 4 they provoked the situation.
BWALYA ,I DOUBT YO MENTAL STATE. WHAT DO U WANT TO CREATE 4 YO SELF? IT IS TO EARLY 4 YO ACTION .WHO TOLD U THAT PF WON’T MAKE MISTAKES THOUGH YO REASONS ARE SUBJECTIVE. @20 ,CACHINE BWALYA WESU MWABA NAKAKUPUTA.AKABUSHILU KENA EMOKALI.
Kazimule, why do you people like talking about the tribe?
Mr Goodson Banda this is a very childish argument against Fr. Bwalya. When did you own his mind, did you not hear what he said on Muvi TV The assignment. e wnts to be free to criticize and not to be bribed as you are doing to the voters by giving them money and bicycles to vote for you. This is exactly what your PF leader MCS acused the MMD of right in the media. The question to you is what is the difference between your so called PF and the former ruling party MMD? in fact they were better off going by what we see to day. You have caused so many “stupid bye -election-Fr Bwalya and many costly mistakes. Your party has been labelled CNP as indeed you have no plan at all.
Congrats Father Frank Bwalya, speak out, no fear no faviour.Next M’membe will also wake up and turn against the PF.Then Lubinda, then Miles and George Chellah, then last but not least Muzungu Opusa.
Barking Dogs seldomly bite , Mr Micheal Sata & the PF used to bark when they were in opposition and everyone thought that they were wiser than the MMD . Frankly speaking |PF Government has totally failed to live up to their words / promises .
Comrade Bwalya u’re very right ,stand your ground and expose them****expose these lairs they are taking people of |Zambia for granted .
LEVY MWANAWASA SC………… (M.H.S.R.I.P) the only true and faithful president, he talked less, never made fake promises but worked hard surprisingly .
Zambia has increased fuel prices. Meanwhile TODAY South Africa has reduced the price of fuel.
Ffr Bwalya is privy that ZESCO to increase POWER Tarrifs hence he has decided to resign than be part of PF that is milking the POOR.
One who does not criticise the government in the media is like “one who wincks at a girl in the dark”……hoping to have sent a massage that only him knows what he has done………….what government is doing is in the public domain and should be discussed in public….
Kazimule, let me repeat the same statement…Father Bwalya is far much better than HH because he points at the wrongand not hate,he calls spade a spade.Pliz never mention a tribe because you are making UPND un popular, the’re alot of people who would like to subscribe to UPND……SI PARTY YAKO WEKA NIYA ZIKO OR ELSE TIZAPANGA INANGU.
