Copperbelt Police Commissioner, Mary Tembo, has warned that no alcohol will be entertained at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium during the Zambia/Lesotho game today.

Ms Tembo has also warned that the police will not tolerate any unruly behaviour from the soccer fans and called on all soccer-loving Zambians to corporate with the police.

“Soccer fans risk being arrested if they engage themselves in illicit activities and what we are appealing to them as the Police is total cooperation,” she said.

In a telephone interview with ZANIS Sports in Lusaka yesterday, Ms Tembo also urged motorists to ensure they cooperate with traffic officers whenever they are designated a parking lot.

Ms Tembo said the police officers have already tightened security at the stadium ahead of tomorrow’s game and urged all soccer fans not to worry of any security concerns.

The Copperbelt Police Chief further urged soccer fans to celebrate in peace in case Zambia wins and urged them to desist from engaging in celebrations that would breach the public peace.

The Chipolopolo Boys tomorrow take on the Crocodiles of Lesotho in a Group D Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifying match at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

  1. Change of mind, there is no way am gona watch that game sober minded…. ichila techila nga takuli foodology na nwe…. anybody interested in my ticket just 8 mosi will buy it out. VIVAb bar man

  2. We don’t want nor need those PF (Police Force) at stadium. Can’t you leave us have fun for once? You must be needed in all the on going by-elections.

  3. Taibomba iyaso.I remember how we used to snick in alcohol during the national teams games at konkola. All you have to do is oil that police officer at the gate…kabili nipa zed.Once inside you drink your liquor from a brown envelop.Alternatively put umutondo in a bottle ya mineral water.

  4. Comrades ka online link kaili naifwe tutambeko ka game. I am not sleeping until I watch this game.

    • What’s Jesus got to do with football don’t the people from Lesotho pray to your same Jesus?

    • Great Stuff!, though I don’t feel like we have beaten Lesotho. Perhaps it because we have been losing games for quite some time.

    • Maria K mwandi praise ba Jesus all the times. It says in the bible in all things acknowledge the LORD. Maria is within her christian and christian nation rights to rejoice to the Almighty.

  5. Styopet!, when you pass an exam and your friends fail and u say thank you God/Jesus, does it mean that others don’t pray to the same God!?

    • Blind faith with these Zambians worshipping foreigner’s religions they don’t understand!

    • Rick, the LORD God Jehovah was with us before we even knew these foreigners existed. Just because you don’t research history, does not mean you can come here and spew your ignorance. Read the old testament, where is Egypt and where was Joseph living as an adult?

    • One wonders why the name of God comes in when we are discussing alcohol ban at stadia dela levy. some bloggers need to grow up. Every person believes in a supernatural being. you may be christian, Buddist, confusius or satanist. So stop putting the name of God in redicule.

  6. alcohol out ranks the EU and the western world, plus corrupt politicians in holding Zambia and Africa back from development. It has done so for years.
