Renard plots Bafana revenge

Share

Zambia coach Herve Renard says he is plotting revenge against South Africa in Wednesday’s 2013 Cosafa Cup semi-final clash at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Bafana Bafana eliminated Renard’s team at the semi-final stage of the 2008 Cosafa Cup.

“I remember in 2008 we lost the semi-final to South Africa in South Africa so we have to take the revenge to get the qualification for the final,” he said.

Renard saluted his relatively inexperienced side for thumping Mozambique 3-1 in Kitwe on Sunday to advance to the last four.

“I think the players did very well, I think Mozambique was not an easy team to beat,” he added.

Bornwell Mwape, Jimmy Chisenga and Moses Phiri were on the score-sheet for Zambia at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.

    • Ba Makoko wesu…two wrongs don’t make a right..If we are addressed as kwerekweres by South Africans, let us show them we are different. Let us call them our brothers. We are all brothers anyway….

  1. And then achieve what when you call them brothers? makwerekwere is okey by me unless you dont know what it means

    • Lamfras……Njikala ku South Africa. I have been here for 14 years. Ndiya thetha, Ngiya kuluma, ngiya bula bula, kea boa…kaofela ngwaneso…
There is no need to use derogatory terms. All

  2. Herve, there is no revenge in football, just play your game mwana. U said the same thing to Nigeria and we lamentably failed to beat them.. this very year!

    • When you said “U said the same thing to Nigeria and we …,” you took the words right out of my mouth!

  3. The team won because of individual players’ brilliant skills, as a team it lacked fluidity which we saw in Zimbabwe team which to me stands as the best coached.
I still believe HR should do better than that, also Bornwell Mwape though is strong & has good moves he is not aggresive.

    • @zuberi,
very very true, the team struggled to command really..SA will not be easy if we play like we did against the mambas who to me seemed scared….

  4. I really get nervous when i hear threats before any action, lets hope it will happen like that, anyway good like.

  5. Yes we beat Mozambique emphatically but if the game was high on goals surely it was low on overall performance. The lads will need to up their game come Wednesday night if we have to come out victorious against South Africa.
In the game against Mozambique, the combination of Festus Mbewe and Mwape upfront proved disjointed but then so was the central defense even under minimal pressure. On the day the midfield played much better. Even after scoring on 14th minute the lads could not settle down, piece their passes together and kill the game off.
HR should try starting with Ngonga and Moses up front. Behind the two strikers must be Mukuka, Situmbeko and Bruce Musakanya. Further in this game the boys need to score quick goals to unsettle otherwise resilient South Africa.
