Kalusha- CHAN defeat is not the end of the World

Share

Kalusha Bwalya says Zambia’s failure to qualify for the 2014 CHAN was not the end of the world.

Zimbabwe defeated the home based Chipolopolo squad 1-0 in Ndola on Saturday to reach next year’s CHAN to be held in South Africa.

Kalusha said the flopped CHAN campaign was a lesson to Zambia.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t get the desired results but it does not mean it’s the end of the world,” the FAZ president said .

“This is football some times you learn the hard way. This team has been together but they haven’t lost but today they lost.”

“You can’t throw the house down because the foundation is good,” Kalusha stated.

He added that the CHAN finals would have helped local players to gain more experience.

“It’s a disadvantage because it blocks the progression of the players, had we qualified our players who would have grown more had they gotten that opportunity.

Zambia never qualified for the 2011 CHAN, just a year after minting bronze at the inaugural edition held in Ivory Coast.

  1. One wonders whether this man is a FA president or a UN diplomat as he is always trying to please everyone HENCE never actually says anything sensible in the process.
The Great King of the gullible fans can afford to make such utterances as his organisation is bankrolled by the taxpayer…the moment FAZ becomes self sufficient will be the day when results will matter as winning trophies equates to more money from TV and sponsorship deals.

Wake up people and get rid of these empty suits!!

  2. I was happy that we lost than going to spend tax pays’ money in SA for nothing. Our team is finished, it could have just been causing my BP to be shoot up whenever it was playing to loose. Thanks.

  3. “You can’t throw the house down because the foundation is good,” The Great King (of the gullible fans) stated.
He talks of foundation when he and his PE teacher are forever calling overseas players who are way passed it and plying their trade in weak leagues abroad at the expense of these selfsame youngsters.
How long are we going to tolerate this mediocrity by this self-serving RSA based FA president.

    Wake up people!!

    • People, tone down….he says this is the developmental squad and the foundation is good. How many games has this team lost? Problem is that you fanatics forget too easily… not long ago the same team beat Zim and lifted the COSAFA Cup and do not forget that for Zim, this was their A-team. Be soccer fans and not fanatics!!

    • Its no Kalusha, its the players. How many Cofasa u20 have we won and yet we can’t come up with a formidable Nation team.Just leave Kalu alone,at least he has helped and you will not always win.

  4. Of course we all know it’s not the end of the world ba Kalu naimwe…but the poor performances and inexplicable inconsistencies by all our national teams is worrying. You just can’t brush such concerns aside when everything seems to be in a slide…apart from COSAFA what meaningful results have any of our teams had since lifting the Africa Cup? What can you point to that would assure any one of us that our fortunes are on the rise and not the other way around????

  5. is it another way of preparing us psychologically for the aftermath effect of Sept 6…?
Such utterance belittles the ‘suffering’ some of us undergo when ever the nation team lose…..what HR said ‘we have no excuse’ is far better…..even what the honourable said is also better…….

  6. Ba KALU is a business man. He is in FAZ to eat. Little wonder no one can challenge him as to why he manages FAZ from South Africa. I agree with Jay Jay. Wake up you gullible soccer fans.

    • Who told you that FAZ was a charitable organisation where only volunteers work? Its you who needs a kick on the back-side to realise that football is a business and needs to be run as such. I bet everyone knows this apart from you. Dull chap indeed.

    • @Uwakwisano
FAZ is NEITHER a charitable organisation NOR a gov’t dept. hence it should stand up on its own feet and support its self and not feed on taxpayers funds…Only then can this self-serving god of yours, do as he wishes. Imagine GRZ donating 6 buses to go to Zim for what? This is the role of the FA, these lazy empty suits have it easy no wonder he is so laid back.

  7. Kalusha can not survive with out being FAZ president.Kalusha is in FAZ to make money and not to improve the football standards.

How long is the national team going to loose being we realise that Kalusha and Renard have failed??? Zambians let us team up and remove the dead wood running the FAX business.

    • My friend, Zambian football needs Kalu more than he needs it, FACT! He is a committee member of FIFA, depitising for Franz Bechenbuer, ala umwana Zambia alyendelela (he has moved!!) By far the most successful Zambian footballer and FAZ President. I know it pains you haters but what God has blessed can not be undone by your hate-filled curses and evil plotting. Just ask Andrew Kamanga and Simaata Simaata, they have first hand experience of this. Reduce your hate and appreciate where its due.

  8. That is a true sportsmanship, not the minister who always insult the team when it loses a match(rubbish, stupid).CK has a narrow understanding of sport you cant always win matches.

  9. This fool any loss is not the end of the world when will it really end. Such fools are really destroying our love for soccer for you can not continue supporting a lossing team and all the time ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD

  10. In any sport expect a win, loose and draw. Insansa kucinjanya. Defeat makes you awake. Winning makes you complacent. I will support the Nation Soccer Team in good times(win) or bad times ( defeat). We love you Herve Renard.Just stay in Zambia.

  11. Looks like Kalus comments has disturbed a hornets nest! His ‘end of the world’ comment is glaringly out of tune. What people are concerned about is the pendulum like performance. Now they play well, next, its like watching Nakambala Leopards vs Lusaka Tigers! To him, its business as usual. My mind goes to the team that perished. When those boys lost, it was due to fate and not laxity, carelessness or lackadaisical attitude.

  12. we waste to money of bola. Bola yalipwa pa zambia. Ama player amayo…what do you expect. Bola na sagging do not go hand in hand. We are better off building more ifimbusu ku soweto market or more latarines kwa kanyama or kwa mandevu mdala. bola is a true waste of our much needed resources. Its better twapela MP’s for extra cell phone allowance…only pa zambia… cell phone and fuel allowance, gratuity kupokela mwi saka mdala. Yet ama voters…..or meant ama suckers ba mbuli bale fumyina amenso ku umufumbwe….such looser mdala!
