COPPERBELT Province Minister Mwenya Musenge has joined in endorsing President Michael Sata as the sole candidate for Patriotic Front ( PF) in the 2016 tripartite elections.
Equally, the ruling patriotic front PF in Ndola has endorsed president Michael Sata as its sole candidate for the 2016 presidential election.
Mr Musenge says the people of Zambia have seen the good leadership of President Sata which has made them excited to endorse him even before he finishes his first term in office.
“The people of Zambia have seen that President Sata is not a selfish leader because he is doing everything in his power to lift people of poverty.
“ As Copperbelt Minister my loyalty remains with our President and this is the reason I have added my voice to those endorsing his candidature,” Mr. Musenge said.
ZANIS reports the Provincial minister to have made the endorsement when Smiles Foundation organisation of Romania paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Ndola today.
The endorsement of President Sata which was initiated by Defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba has spread like wild fire across the country with the ruling party in some provinces and districts saying they support the endorsement initiative.
One of the many supporters of the endorsement , is Chinsali District Commissioner (DC) Evelyn Kangwa who openly said the ruling PF in the area supports the endorsement of the President Sata for 2016 elections.
She said those not supporting the endorsement of President Michael Sata as a sole candidate for 2016 elections are not full Patriotic Front ( PF) members.
Ms. Kangwa said that there is nothing wrong in endorsing President Sata for 2016 elections.
Ms. Kangwa has also warned those attacking Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) for endorsing President Sata for 2016 elections to stop adding that the campaign seemingly launched by the Defence minister has the blessings of the party at grass root level.
Ms. Kangwa said what Mr. Mwamba is saying is the feeling of the people at grass root level as they are the ones who supported President Sata during the 2011 tripartite elections.
And the ruling patriotic front PF in Ndola has endorsed president Michael Sata as its sole candidate for the 2016 presidential election.
Ndola district PF chairperson George Chisulo says President Michael Sata has laid a foundation for the countries development and should be given a chance to continue as per constitutional right.
He adds that president Michael Sata is hardworking and committed to his duties as can be seen by the numerous developmental projects that are currently taking place in the country.
‘’President Michael Sata has the mandate to go for a second term and that is not questionable, he can go for a second term if he so wishes.”
Mr. Chisulo has however stated that it is unfortunate for members of the party to face disciplinary action on the basis of endorsing President Michael Sata as candidate for the 2016 presidential race.
He stressed that party members have a right to speak out on any party issue and should not be restrained in any way.
‘’it is not a mistake for party members to say they want president Michael Sata for a second term, it is not the civil servants who are endorsing president Michael Sata but the members who have a right to organize the party.”
Meanwhile, party secretary General Wynter Kabimba is this Friday expected to grace the party’s district consultative meeting to be held on 7th September 2013 at the trade fair grounds in Ndola.
Approximately 350 delegates drawn from the district, constituencies and ward committees are expected to attend the meeting.
PF district chairperson George Chisulo who conferment the development in an interview in Ndola, today said the meeting will serve as a platform to educate members on how to organize the party in the district.

Its too early to waste time on debates about endorsing Sata as the sole presidential candidate. They are not even half way through the first term of office. Is there a leadership crisis in PF for Sata to be the sole presidential candidate. If there are others interested, let the party organize a convention. People endorsing Sata want to protect their jobs. Imgine how many people would lose their jobs with change of government! Even me I would do the same if Sata gave me a job. I know another president would come with is own people. Just look at the pot or is it drum belly. Where will it be if Sata is no loner the president? He wants to maintain that belly. his has strengthened GBM camp and shows that GBM has the support of other senior people in PF. Kabimba camp has to go back to the drawing board. GBM is being used as a front because he has a thick skin developed from his business dealings. His also the most buffered in PF who can stand to against Kabimba who is stubborn for nothing. Kabimba has failed to rally whole of central province to PF. His base is shaky. His like Magande. Magande had shaky base and that is why Rupiah got it. Kabimba camp tried to scheme early because they learnt from Magande a lesson. But in Politics is the base that matters not how early you start. Lusaka itself as seen from the fights is not all on Kabimba camp. No homework was done first and underestimated GBM and the President.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the endorsement. However, there is also nothing wrong with none-endorsement especially considering that Sata still very much qualifies to go for the second term. He has done nothing wrong in most of PF supporters’ eyes to warrant change of leadership… of course unless there is something that none insiders cannot see. The best way by PF cadres to endorse Sata to the general public is to avoid squabbles and ensure that all their economic deliverables are achieved. This is what matters.
In any case, has there ever been any elections in PF that anyone can lose his sleep over that Sata might lose the leadership to somebody else… NO. That is HIS party… and he will only leave when he wants.

Endorsement for Sata are for those who are eating well. Iam NOT sharing in this Zambia cake so I can never endorse Sata let alone vote for him though I did so in 2011. Let the Munkombwes, GBMs of this world endorse because they are ‘eating’.
