Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general and Minister of Justice Wynter Kabimba has said that he will not resign from his position. In response to people petitioning for his removal, Mr Kabimba said that the petitioners and their paymasters are wasting their time because he will not resign.
Mr Kabimba said he has information that some people were sent to Ndola to pay Mr Chisulo and to sponsor the protests.
“I am not going to resign on account of people being paid. Let them take the money from those who are paying them but I will not resign,” Mr Kabimba said. He added: “Those petitioning and their paymasters are wasting their time.”
And Mr Kabimba accused Chishimba Kambwili of being part of a clique of tribal elements sponsoring anarchy in PF. Kabimba said that Mr Kambwili should know that he Kabimba had a lot of PF supporters who were interested in the affairs of the party.
“I have heard him say that I must stop those that are endorsing me, like the case on Radio Icengelo. I just want to say that this is all part of the scheme by the same guys, the same tribalists that I referred to in The Post.So they are just moving from one scheme to the other. So, they should not think that I do not have people that tell me. The same people that they have teamed with come back and tell me,” said Kabimba.
Meanwhile, National Youth Chairman Chishimba Kambwili has charged that party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba’s arrogance and attitude towards issues will ruin his political career.
Mr Kambwili said the earlier the PF Chief Executive Officer worked on his weakness, the better for him to be able to swim past the political tide that was hovering around him.
“What will hound him out of the party is his personal attitude towards issues and his arrogance. If he can work on his relationship with the cadres, the better for him. The cadres are complaining that when they go to his office they are chased,” he said.
Mr Kambwili told journalists in Lusaka yesterday that it was unfortunate that Mr Kabimba had branded him as a tribalist when his advice to him was unbiased and in the interest of unity in the party.
“My advice to him was not biased. It was balanced advice to the cadres to stop demonstrating and also for Mr Kabimba to apologise,” he said. He said he had never promoted tribalism and that Mr Kabimba knew it so well that he was above board in that area.
He said he was always against cadres rising against senior party officials and that was what he did even when former Foreign Affairs minister Given Lubinda was being harassed by cadres.
Defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba also asked Mr Kabimba who is Justice Minister to reflect on the advice given to him by Mr Kambwili instead of launching a witch-hunt by labeling people as being tribalists.
Mr Mwamba also advised party members to forgive Mr Kabimba over his continued disparaging remarks stating that he was going through so much pressure following the number of protests against him to step down as Secretary General of the Party.
Mr Mwamba said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that it was not right for Mr Kabimba to continue with disparaging remarks towards the party, but should rather check himself and find the way forward.
Mr Kabimba was quoted in the media accusing Mr Kambwili of belonging to a clique of tribal elements that had been created in the PF to sponsor anarchy.
This follows Mr Kambwili’s remarks that Mr Kabimba should stop being arrogant and apologise to the party over his remarks that the clique of tribal elements had been created in the party to cause anarchy.
“The advice that Mr Kambwili gave to Mr Kabimba was adequate and there is no need of continuing to attack each other. Mr Kabimba should check himself and find the answer or else he will start witch hunting, suspecting non-existent tribal cliques which are not there,” Mr Mwamba said.
He said Mr Kabimba’s sentiments that that the PF was tribal was a clear indication that he himself was anti-Bemba.
“His sentiments show that he himself does not like the Bembas. The people that are protesting against him are not Bemba, but PF cadres. There is no tribal clique in the party.
“I think we need to forgive our brother over what he is saying, he is in so much pressure following the calls for him to step down as SG,” he said.
He appealed to Mr Kabimba and the members to concentrate on organising the party and show leadership as the way forward.
He said what was causing the confusion was Mr Kabimba’s presidential ambition which he should shelve for now and concentrate on reorganising the party.

2014-2015 will be a crucial period for PF ‘s survival as many PF prominent members will decide to jump ship and join the promising party to be. This is the year in which it will become very clear that PF is a dead party because most of the people supporting it today are fast realising that all pledges PF made are castles built in the air. By that time the cost of living will become unbearable even for the middle class. Prices will rise 3 fold because of the the IMF effect now that PF is beginning to borrow recklessly.
In the same period the Mumembe cartel will drastically withdraw its support for PF and assume a middle ground for a while before deciding which party to vuvuzela for next, as one prominent opposition party begin to emerge as the definite future government.

Wynter Kabimba’s apparent display of arrogance and stubbornness may suggest that he could have struck a secret deal with Mr. Sata to accomplish a set of sinister programmes to which other senior PF leaders are not privy to. But Mmembe, Malupenga and Masebo have the data.
The overall consequence of the dynamics at play within the PF structure will lead to the isolation of Sata from his original power base in Northern and Muchinga provinces and ultimate loss of his popularity nationally – only to culminate into his humiliating downfall. While it is true that Kabimba is arrogant just like Kambwili and GBM, there is great need for tolerance within PF. Sata did not bar any PF member to go for the TOP party position to promote democracy, most probably bcos he himself is not going to stand come 2016. Its highly unlikely for Sata to stand in 2016, reason he is against endorsements. GBM and Kambwili both want that position, so instead of endorsing or sponsoring cadres to go for Kabimba’s blood, let them just position themselves for the job and the pipo will judge them.

When we say PF is a one man show,this is exactly what we mean. You can clearly see that no one has the balls to tell it to Sata in his face that he has failed. These squabbles are as a result of Sata’s Schemings. The two camps don’t know which one Sata prefers. Kabimba for me comes out like he is very assured of his stay. He uses his hot head to reason while GBM uses money and tribe. There seems to be issues that have gripped Sata with so much fear that he is paralysed and unable to take action. Surely two years into power, we still have a district leader APPOINTED by the president!!!? Where are the grass roots to elect one their choice? The Secretary General must remain steadfast. In a democracy, differenet voices will be heard constantly. It is deafening and sickening at times. When a clear response is needed, then that should be provided. The rest is just music. You can dance or do listening. Time is on his side to provide leadership for the country. There is no need to do sprints, long distance running is more appropriate.
Kabimba is hated for not being mubemba and yet holding the most powerful position in the party. The babembas are worried of his positioning on their match to keeping the PF presidence as a babemba position. Why is it that only the babemba senior party officials are against him? I do not like Kabimba’s arrogant behaviour but he is spot on issue of a TRIBAL Clique in the PF. The tribal clique is evident in the PF. Kambwili, GBM, Chikwanda . Sata is aware of this tribalism in the PF and most likely part of it. He is doing everything possible to ‘dress up’ the PF as not tribal by keeping people like Wynter, Masebo, Inonge and and few other non bembas. He knows he can not win an election with Bemba support alone. What gives Sata away though are the Tribal appointments that he makes.

I am not a fun of Kabimba let alone Mwamba but I do agree with the former not to step down because this is what the latter has been working on. Why do big people speak like fools, Mwamba has been boasting that he was a heavy weight now he wants to pretend that he is not the one behind the confusion with the cadres even a primary school child who has been following this can tell that Mwamba is behind all this chaos in Zambia especially Lusaka.
I am beginning to think that Kabimba knows what he is talking about. Indeed yes, there is a clique in Zambia that thinks the country belongs to them and them only. You can tell from the way they express themselves, in fact there is nothing new about this clique, their perception of people from other region is well known. It is not only Kabimba they are after but the rest of those outside their regional boarders.

Arrogance, rudeness, incorribility and I-know-it-all attitude make up the profile of Wynter Kabimba. It doesn’t matter whether people hate him or not. Not too long ago he told us how naive he was not to believe that PF was a tribal party. By nature he is an extremely egocentric and naive fellow. Little wonder he has made very little professional progress in his career as a lawyer. Listening to him debate with Brig Gen Miyanda on the radio a few weeks ago, I could not help concluding that Wynter lives in a fools paradise, where he is the untouchable king in a king’s birthday suit where the rest are nothing but illiterates. At the pace he is going he will be ruined irreparably before too long. The same hounds of cadres that he set on Given Lubinda are now beying for his blood.

But I wish to remind him that, Some Gvt officials have suffered the same humiliation and subsequently suspended from their offices through the same character and behaviour of cadres. E.g. the N/W province issue where a DPS was suspended by the Pf gvt following a sponsored protest by paid up cadres who unfortunately did not even know the DPS at the moment. Gvt succumbed to the pressure and this man is not in office till today. Now in all fairness reflect on all unfairly disciplined pipo in Gvt.

To the contrary, Kabimba, a non-Bemba may have been used by the same powers that be to turn the heat on Lubinda, a fellow non-Bemba so that they themselves were able to keep their hands unsoiled, an established Bemba tactic from antiquity. What is not coming out clearly is why this ire against Kabimba all of a sudden? Don’t you see that the agenda behind Lubinda’s demise is the same agenda now behind Kabimba’s fall from grace, namely a ‘STRUGGLE FOR POWER’ within PF? Don’t you see this as the main force behind it all? And it is, why must it then be dissociated from Bemba tribalism?

Assuming Wynter doesnt go, the events of the recent weeks will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on Wynter and the PF.
On Wynter’s part, the events will have shaken his faith in the loyalty of PF cadres. He will be aware that the party does not rever or respect him as he once thought they did. As a result of this, you are likely to see a more tempered or neutered Wynter – he will have to be moderate ( difficult as that might be for him). He is also likely to review his relationship with Mmembe having realised that Mmembe is impotent against certain forces . As an appointed MP , Wynter has just realised how vulnerable he is. He has to be more circumspect going forward.
His stature and standing in the party has however suffered irreperable damage. That is if he doesnt go.
A party which is divided can not stand. Lets wait and see the downfall.
