Zesco loss hands Nkana great advantage

Share

Nkana need two more wins to clinch the 2013 title after second placed Zesco tumbled 2-1 away at konkola Mine Police.

A win for Nkana on Saturday on Sunday and away to Konkola Blades next week will be enough for them to lift their first title since 2001.

Nkana have Mine Police to thank for denting title hopes after a deserved win at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

However it was Zesco who took a fortunate lead when Winston Kalengo found the target in the 42nd minute.

Mine Police equalised in the 51st minute through a Chipulu Chileya close range header after turning in Kabaso Chongo cross.

Chongo was again on hand to setup the second goal when Andrew Twapilwa back heeled the ball into the back of the net.

Zesco are now tied on 47 points with Nchanga Rangers after the latter beat Napsa Stars 2-1 in the lunchtime kickoff at the same venue.

Bonwell Mwape put Nchanga ahead in the 8th minute before Harry Milanzi levelled from the spot in the 52d minute.

Felix Nyaende made sure of the three points in the 85th minute to put Nchanga back in serious contention for a second place finish.

  1. Untrue reporting, ‘ZESCO LOSS HANDS NKANA GREAT ADVANTAGE? And that ‘NKANA HAVE MINE POLICE TO THANK FOR’, Listen iwe so called reporter. As Nkana we are winning this year’s league out of our own player’s hard work and support from sponsors and us supporters. Hence no team has giving us any advantage neither do we owe any team gratefulness for the imminent 2013 title. Even if Zesco won 2days game and wins all their remaining games, still Kalampa would have won @ least three of the remaining games to get maximum points needed to be crowned 2013 champions. NALELO EE BA NKANA BA WINNER……. NKANA 4 LIFE.

  2. Ba zesco supporters we need your comments ,don’t just comment when you beat nkana.kuli Bola ku wusakele uku.

  3. I love love love you Kalampa! Its sad the last time i watched a game pa chilata was in 1999 when i was writing my grade 12 exams. Its a pity i am in the diaspora studying.
