31 of the 84 Barotse Treason detainees have been released from prison.
This was after the court received instructions to enter a Nolle Proseque from the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.
Those released comprise 3 females and 28 males.Â
However, former Ngambela Hon. Clement Sinyinda and others will still remain in prison until Friday 15th November, 2013 when their matter comes up for another mention.
Arrangements are being made to take them home from Lusaka.
Those released are mainly from Kalabo and Sikongo regions of Barotseland. No one from Mongu was has been released.
Alliance for Democracy and Development leader Charles Milupi was also among the multitudes who went to court to witness the court proceedings.Â
Celebrations and solidarity surrounded today’s court proceedings.
Another abuse of the Nolle. Why are people always in a hurry to take cases to court based on insufficient evidence?
This shows that ba sata knows what he is doing even releasing prisoners
No need for elections ba sata forever mwe lesa twapapata
Let’s pray guys if you refuse waba amamina mu mokoshi
Ha ha ha abena Jo you have made my day @ifimina mumukoshi ka ? Lol
@mop I’m thinking the same. The judgement creates a presumption that the perpetrators’ acts were within the law and I see the danger of them continuing with their agenda. It is disturbing to see the tendency to enter a nolle prosequi simply because there is not enough evidence.
@Nine Chale ; remove your PF blinders. The Agenda you are talking about will continue as long as the Barotse Agreement is not dealt with honestly. Don’t kid yourself that id.iotic charges of treason will make it go away. By the way which law have these people broken? Oh yes! They are reported to have raised the Barotse Flag among other things! This is the Flag that is currently flying sided by side with the Zambian Flag at the Litunga’s palace! And Sinyinda has been charged with organising the Barotse National Council meeting in January 2012. A meeting that was attended by government ministers, UN representative and members of foreign missions accredited to Zambia! And Nine Chale thinks that the law was broken. Really? You people are jokers!
I mind boils when I completely understand that Lozi’s are so peaceful-slow people, who couldn’t even beat up police officers. It puzzles me that Sata, not even, RB too keep abusing those hopeless, muscle-less Lozis from KALABO and KAOMA. WHo is Sinyinda, set him FREE, a man who instructs his child to slaughter a chicken? Such a humble man, who can’t even beat a dog it it eats his fish during Kuomboka?
Can one of you imagine if it was people from Luapula arrested in that manner!!!??? There would be con-tangle, Sata would sleep with open bedroom door.
The Nostradamus above me is not the real one.The real ones English is a bit incoherent. Iwe stop using his name.
@ Noatradamus
Ah! I did not know you could utter such nonsense. Ethnic groups in Zambia are known to posses certain ‘talents’. For example one group is known for being ‘intellectual and prudent’ while another group is known for ‘being action oriented even if they don’t know what they are doing’….for more read ‘Business Values of Our Time’…..
it is the short cut to detaining people with no case. What a shame, these activities should consider to sue the state
“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” – Abraham Lincoln
.oWhy is f.o.o.l l.o.o.f sensored?
“The problem with taking a blood sample for your malaria test is that the cockroaches may eat it in the night,” announced the nurse. “Ants are an even worse problem. The place is infested with them.” Siavonga Hospital, on the shores of Lake Karibe in southern Zambia, is suffering. “We have to put patients with TB in the same room as women who are giving birth,” says one of the four Cuban doctors who battle to run the place. They also have to charge fees for their healthcare, and patients have to provide their own medicines, syringes and clean needles. What if they can’t afford to pay? The doctor shrugs. “What do you think? They die.”
People are dying. Quietly, but in huge numbers, all over Zambia, lives are being wasted. Wasted not because of some accident of nature but as a…
fool*
Why did you not agitate for the Barotse thing when Kaunda was President? if you do it now no one will understand, you will just be shot dead. MMD did it even PF can do it. Government is still Government. after all what are you going to do with that sand. Do you think there some Diamonds in that province. Western Province is not for the Lozis alone. wake up. Wise Lozis have invested in other parts of the country.
this Clement Shindapaper thought he was a star….by the time he is released he will be like Dean or Princess Nakatindi….don’t mess with BOMA. uncivilized ways of fighting for power has led him into becoming a Jeleboy….nivozifunila!
Don’t mess with BOMA! The reason Zambia is a backward cesspool! Too many morons think BOMA is God! You can kill Sinyinda in prison but the issue die with him. After all some people live miserable lives even in State Houses forever making never ending visits to see Doctors! Tell me were these people in the same situation as Dean or Nakatindi. We will all die whether you set foot in Prison or State House!
No wonder you are called “Gangster” You posses gangsterism manners. “Sepiso” is a coward who is so scared he would pee in his pants if he used his real name. All I can tell you friends, is that one day, and one day soon, Barotseland will be FREE! If there is nothing but sand in Barotseland, why are you all so stuck to her like Super Glue? Leave and vacate her peacefully. The BA64 is a document that can not just be brushed aside like that. For you information, Kaunda tried to, but it has come back to haunt him. He too arrested a number of team thinking it will scare Malozi. They are a lot to reckon with. They don’t scare easily. The momentum gains speed each day that passes. Sata leave Barotseland.
Good ! Hope the released prisoners won`t go back to their old ways.I just feel sad that most of them are just poor villagers without not so much as a decent education or understanding of governance issues while the big agitators of this nonsense keep on living in comfort in their Kabulonga and diaspora homes.Smh
viva baroste!!! those people were let go not because of anyone but because they are not Zambians but citizen of the kingdom of Baroste!!! worst of all Nchito is a dull emotionally vindictive lawyer,, he had no case against those people
most important am waiting for a nolle proseque for the chitimukulu,,, so that chitimukulu and his people can live with happines and joy forever after
Which governance issues? Those so called villagers are more intelligent than your first and current President. A least they understand that when you append your SIGNATURE to a legal document you are obliged to HONOUR your signature! The Zambian government is the law breaker! The mistake the ‘villagers’ made was to enter into a contract with deceitful liars and plain criminals who respect no contracts nor any laws including their own!
Better not comment if you don’t understand the issue otherwise you are just advertising your ignorance.
We are a proud lot. Poor as you may call us. After all you are the thieves that impoverished Barotseland. Leave us alone.
no death penalt? you were suposed to ukufipaya.. these are tribalist
Sata neo call!
Munyelo
nja
Just shoot them on sight… What has Chitimukulu got to do with this.. the province is not yours alone. all agitators should be shot.
@ Reactor and Chambishi
Your shallow comments are surprising. Rodger Chongwe undertook a commission of inquiry on the Mongu riots of 2010. What was his recommendation and what happened to it? Do some reading before yapping.
Tribalist niwe! Your DPP has again failed to pin these heroes and rushes to hide behind a nolle. Foolishness at its best.
dont know what to say.
uko, never play with Ukwa and Mr Bean.osayesa…….. they will teach you a lesson, boma ni boma.just wait for 2016 and vote wisely.
Your Boma is been taught a lesson. Those people have resolved to fight for their cause! They wont be intimidated ! Viva Barotseland!
wait ad see! its too late 2 run away frm ds cause
How do you prosecute when it’s clear that an agreement exists. GOV is trying to instill fear in these poor soles. The agreement exists and it’s in the best interests of Zambia to sort this issue now. It may seem very ancient to modern generation but the problem is the fact that it has been ignored for so long had it been acknowledged it would have been upto date with modern times. So in short we are starting all over again beacuse one KK who some of you adore did not do the right thing. The BA and Zambian Constitution is based on English Law, BA64 has not been revoke. This will cause a lot of issues for future generations.
I’m gonna enter state cases as an amicus curiae to save us from more nolle prosequi.I will argue that the lack of enough medulla oblongata is hurting raison d’etat.
Many are too emotional on this issue.let us reason and help both parties come up with a solution.give your yes or no with logical arguments.insults will never help.i foresee a generation of hate and anger.we can avoid it,if only starts with me,you and others.peace and love!
Pf is extremly divisive led by extremly hateful so called president who hates T and L. We refuse to be ruled by tinpot who has no respect, no ettiquet at all. Viva HH!
Muli fipuba nililali akwebele ati ali mupata. mwale enda mu mumu changa, ale mupangila imesebo. na ma tauni bamupangila… mulefwaya muka lelala ku mwakwe elyo mukeshibe ati ali mutemwa… nangu ine nsha fola po indalama sha party, ukuilishanya nshi ilishanya ati ta ntemwa.
This whole charade is a disgrace. It points to a regime desperate to simply round up ‘suspects’ without any tangible evidence of culpability in the said treasonable acts. The aim being to ‘hung them up to dry’ as a so-called example to others. People should be mindful of the fact that the pre-trial process in Zambia is notoriously long and despicable in terms of the conditions in which people are kept while awaiting amateurish investigations and processes to determine whether they have a case to answer. You can bet your last ‘kwacha’ that a good number of the so-called Barotse activists have been incarcerated and punished for nothing that warrants arrest. Sedation and treason charges have often been used at the whim and caprice of paranoid dictators to ‘sort out’ genuine concerns.
Scared little politicians will always round up the wrong people because of the fear of the unknown! Emmanuel Mwamba has already paid for his sins!
Let these people go and drop those charges!
People released on Nolle can still be arrested. or can still be shot if they begin again.
Lozis i know are very peaceful people, who love a very big nsima with lots of half rotten lindombe, the government should just sit and talk to these very dark skinned lovable people.the lighter bantu botatwe lozi in sesheke are even more lovable and kind.please talk!
We will fight for the right to be free. We will fight for our own society. The FREEDOM has come AMANDA today!!!!!
VIVA Barotseland………………
Amanda Clement Wanyae Sinyinda………….
These also are not true activists!
They should have refused to be released until everyone of them is released!
Cowards!
They should have refused to be released and be detained for what?
You can take a Lozi away from Barotseland but you CAN NOT take Barotseland away from a Lozi. And you shall know the truth, nothing but the truth and the whole truth sets all living things free.
You can take a Lozi away from Barotseland but you can NOT take Barotseland away from a Lozi.
And you shall know the truth, nothing else but the truth and the whole truth sets all living things free.
Barotseland is a nation, whether PF likes it or not.
You can take a Lozi away from Barotseland but you can NOT take Barotseland away from a Lozi.
And you shall know the truth, nothing but the truth because the whole truth sets all living things free.
The government of Zambia must sit down with Barotselands leaders and find a way forward which favours both parties. In my view, its better for Zambia to turn into a federal state so that in smaller units its easier to manage resources of each province(state). Moreover, these issues of tribalism could reduce because those perceived to be supreme tribes and inferio will have equal bones to chew in their own regions.
Bayapwilafye umulilo pamakasa. Sata is dealing with a serious mercenary. Sata will simply surrender power to ths same controller of zambia any time soon. Nafilwa umukamba elyo nabamukonenkesha to point of being completely useless. Aleni, lets wait n see!
release all of them and stop embarrassing yourselves chaps..they are all innocent..
