Wada enjoying coaching in Mozambique

Share

Zambian coach Wedson Nyirenda has described his first one year
incharge of Mozambiquean side HCB Songo as great.

Nyirenda says he is happy with his current coaching stint in the
MocamBola league.

The ex-Zanaco and Zesco United coach guided Songo to a third finish in
the just ended 2013 league campaign.

Nyirenda was impressed with Songo’s performance.

“My first season in Mozambique has been great and I have enjoyed
working in a foreign land better than I did when at home. I have
learnt so much and I enjoy the respect and appreciation the club and
the people of Mozambique are giving to me and my staff,” the ex-Zambia
Under-17 coach told Radio Icengelo in Kitwe.

“Our team performed extremely well this season considering what we
went through during the course of building the team and completion
time. I must say that it was not an easy task to build a team which
has been considered an average team all along to a championship
campaigning side.”

However, he noted that coaching in Mozambique has not been challenges free.

“There are so many challenges working in a foreign land. Not to talk
of Mozambique where the language is totally different from ours here.
The culture is also a bit different.”

He added:”I think I have all the reasons to be happy with the team’s
performance. Being a foreign coach it is not easy to do what I did
especially in a country like Mozambique where the game is highly
competitive. As a team we really fought hard to get to a better
position than third. Circumstances beyond our control affected our
goal.”

Nyirenda is back in Zambia on holiday.

  1. Congrats work hard now that you are in a foren land your name is linked more to Zambian . You are now doing it even for other Zambians working in Mozambique hence the need to work hard and make it easy for other Zambians employed in that country in other fields . God bless you.

  2. Still more u can’t be zambian coach, u think we dont know that you have applied for the Job/ Their are alot of zambians coaching in diaspora such as lucky msisks,==a gibby mbasela, Litana, mbesuma(coaching under five) etc BEMUDA will be incharge of chipolopolo for 10yrs

  3. Anyoko you should do your research. Gibby Mbasela passed away years ago. Elijah Litana is still in the country. The last time we heard of him he was coaching a lower rank team in Zamba

  4. Gibby Mbasela died a long time ago. Where is the elder sister to this man. Stone Nyirenda? Keep it up man you are doing a great thing out there. Guys never brush off your coaches for foreigh ones. Foreigh ones just come to dig Gold here. Sad that Kalu and group cannot see that. We have alot of better coaches in Zambia than the current one.
