MISA Zambia has condemned the PF government for blocking former Defence Minister and Kasama Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba from featuring on a paid for programme on Radio Mano this morning.
In a statement released to the media, MISA Zambia also express sadness at reports that journalists were also not allowed to move in or our of the radio station studios

Kasama PF must stop the barbaric, Draconian and old fashioned politics of suppressing Freedom of Expression
We have learnt with deep shock the arbitrary suppression of freedom of expression being exhibited by the democratically elected PF government in our country and we immediately call for the reversal of this unbecoming trend.
We have information that an accountable number of armed state police in both uniform and plain clothes were this morning deployed at Radio Mano in Kasama in an effort to thwart area MP Geoffrey Mwamba from featuring on a paid for programme. We also note with sadness that journalists were held captive and not allowed to move out or enter the Radio Station.
This development in addition to other recorded infringements on the media that have been committed by the PF in it’s two years of being in office speaks volume of their desire to suppress freedom of expression and eventually drain our democracy.
This is the fifth time this year that the citizens of this country are being barred from featuring on the Radio Station.
MISA would therefore like to appeal to government to immediately stop this barbaric, draconian and old fashioned type of politics.
We would want to state as MISA that the media in Zambia stands by the preamble as enshrined in our Zambian constitution which embodies the principles of openness, transparency and upholding of democratic principles and as such the media is there to provide a platform for any citizen who has information to disseminate.
Therefore, the government of the day must equally abide by these principles and be tolerant to divergent views.
The deployment of police at the first ever community radio in the province which was widely used by the PF while in opposition amounts to gross abuse of the security forces and is unlawful under the laws of Zambia.
We demand that this abuse and harassment of journalists must stop immediately.
As MISA we would like to remind the Police that theirs is not to be used to harass and intimidate the citizens but rather to offer protection to the people of Zambia including those that are perceived as enemies of the ruling PF.

GBM has a lot of data regarding this govt. He was one of them and saw all the corruption. This is a good movie and enjoy.
GBM knows too much about PF and is another good case of Paul Tembo. He needs to be heavily protected and PF is worried he can spill the bins becuase he is now like a runaway train and whoever can trust Sata is playing with posion.

I thought I read somehwere that there is a huge shortfall of police officers. Is what I see in the picture above the prudent use of our scare resources? And who authorised the abuse of tax payers money to conduct this operartion? Will the Auditor General pass this as good use of tax payers money? Isn’t crime supposed to be high during this festival season and is it wise to deploy so much resources to just stop some FAT INNOCENT BOY from expressing his opinion or exercise his freedom of speech? Does this whole operation smell like the abuse of national resources?
I rest my case and await to see the Auditor General report next year.
It;’s not only foolishness but daring for someone to blatantly ignore sound advice and also learn from the ill-deeds of others. The tables will turn at some point, remember that Ghaddafi who was once the most powerful person in Africa met his fate in a ditch!
One thing this entire saga confirms is that PF is not a Bemba party as generally believed by some people.It appears there was an attempt by prominent Bemba politicians to gain political power of PF.
It looks like the plan has been stopped in it’s tracks.

Sata must realise that this is not the Night School that he attended in London and quit after 7days ( We’ve found the records).
If he cannot handle serious national issues. He must resign now before the whole national structure goes down. He is picking up useless fights to divert attentions and pass time.
Surely GBM must be a threat to PF, his deputy Davis Mwila resigned and the PF did not panic the way they are doing with GBM. One can conclude that PF knows GBM will spill the beans to the extent of no allowing him to speak on radio Mano. I SMELL A RAT IN THIS PF OF OURS.
The drama continues…why not just leave the man alone he has resigned from the government. This is not unusual only pa zed would a resignation of a Minister cause such nonsense and panic. People resign everyday. As for GBM is free to speak to the media that is his prerogative as a citizen of the country. This is the most autocratic regime they make Kaunda look like father Christmas. Just hope the opposition get their act together for the good of the country and get rid of these animals in power.
Please note that GBM does not have any security around him anymore.
GBM claims he is popular throughout the country. He might be mistaken because there are his detractors out there who would want to prove him wrong.
Remember Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe when he resigned from government! He too behaved similarly until he was beaten up by the same cadres like William Banda who had earlier been dancing before him when he was in government.
If cadres who hold divergent views from his were baying for his blood, what would be our newspaper headlines tomorrow?

Kapwepwe was not beaten by William Banda alone, Sata was intrumental in that beating that killed Kapwepwe.
GBM, they should not do anything silly to him, otherwise Sata will be locked up in state house, no movement to anywhere at all because scarios only need $1million dollars to carry out the mission without fail.

The events which preceded Kapwepwe’s beating then are fairly similar to GBM’s today. He will be deceiving himself to think that all Kaponyas ni Kasama are tamed and are on his payroll.

Yes, Sata is God’s creation like any one of us, added to that, has been made to preside over lives of Zambians in fear of God and be accountable to God. Who ever is entrusted with more, more will be expected from him. That should worry Sata more now that his sickness is getting worse even though Kapeya is employed to hide it. Dying is dying not long from now.
I can never understand a Zambian. Complains the loudest but when offered a chance to put in measures to prevent him run into same problems again, he turns the opportunity down. He wants to look smart when he is not, brave when he is a coward, act rich when he survives on kaloba. Everyone is complaining about Sata and his of lack of education. We have all seen what a problem it can be but not too long ago we were presented with an opportunity to prevent a repeat of having an uneducated leader by changing the constitution. But remind me what did the zambians say? Yes, even educated leaders make mistakes but rarely do their common sense go to sleep. In our time we need decisions based on data but if our leaders can’t reader how will they read the data let alone analyze it?
Why is PF panicking following the resignation of GBM? This is the question we need to ask ourselves. PF has created more enemies and it will be difficult for them to win the 2016 general election. This is just the beginning and we are yet to see a lot of confusions within PF. GBM has a lot of sympathizers within the PF and outside. The stand off created by the government under PF not to recognize Chitimukulu as paramount chief of the Bembas will dearly cost PF. It’s sad that President Sata lacks credible advisors. He needs to be guided more especially on this stand off he has created. He is not in good books with the chiefs in Northwestern, Luapula, Southern and now Northern provinces. For any government to go through it requires the endorsement of traditional rulers. We shall wait and…
