Patrice salutes Kangwa and Kalaba

Patrice Beaumelle has praised two-goal hero Evans Kangwa and midfielder Rainford Kalaba’s performances against Uganda in Wednesday’s friendly at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Nkana striker Kangwa and TP Mazembe midfielder Kalaba made a glowing return to action for Zambia after an eight and seven month’s absence from the fold respectively.

“You know we call Rainfoird Kalaba ‘The Master’. He can make the difference and he made some very good moves and was one of the players in the match that made the difference,” Beaumelle said.

“The team worked well together and when we were down he was one of the boys that made the difference, who pushed and created chances.”

Meanwhile, Beaumelle saluted Kangwa after coming on in the 28th minute for the injured Rodgers Kola to score a second half brace that handed Zambia the win.

“Everybody is bringing something to the team like some with experience and others without experience,” Beaumelle said.

“Like Evans Kangwa he can in and scored two lovely goals and I am happy for our local players and I want to congratulate him.”

It was the second successive time that Kangwa had scored a brace for Zambia since August last year in a 2-0 win over Botswana in a 2014 CHAN qualifier also at Levy Stadium.

    • I’ve always wondered why this boy hasn’t been getting Chipolopolo call ups, I loved the way he shone at the under 20 COSAFA tournament in Botswana. By the way, let me share with LT bloggers my disappointment with the behaviour of our Zambian soccer stars in SA. Mweene has gotten so drunk with billionaire Motsepe’s huge perks at Sundowns that he has even married a second wife. Clifford Mulenga’s indiscipline is public knowledge and rumour has it that Black Aces won’t renew his contract. Nakuru has also just married a gold digger of a coloured girl. The most unfortunate development now is that they’ve now even recruited Mukuka Mulenga in their night tours of duty from bar to bar, with the young Mukuka drowning himself while still in a Plaster of Paris. Can we reclaim our glory with…

  1. Poor journalism indeed. These Zambian journalists that never go through Journalism schools! However, Viva Chipolopolo after languishing in loss after loss you have finally given someone his first victory as a coach. From now the path should be up up and away! We must win the next Nations Cup and the next Nations Cup and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next? Allez allez Chipolopolo!

  2. If only Kalaba could get a contract in one of Europes strong teams!
By the way, I now believe the Zambian team that a friendly match with Brasil last year deserved all the praise they got with LT bloggers despite going down, SA was thumped like boneless skeletons yesterday! Zambia czn really be up there if they want!

  3. So Mweene has 2 wives? Can someone confirm this? If this is true, then this is the end of 2012 Africa Cup hero.

  4. On negative side Zambia’s game was poor as compared to our opponents uganga who played a much organinsed game dispite them loosing.Patrice must have a game plan for each game like my favourite coach mourinho who knows which player to feature in a particular game and wat system to employ a every stage of the game depending on the outcome during the course of the game. With Zambia this is different we have no system and we are depending on indivdiual brilliance to bring in results. If we continue with this type of football we wont go to morroco and please Faz stop interfearing with the coaches Team selection this will kill our game let the coach be independent like what is happening at Chelsea.

  5. So what if Mweene has two wives? How many wives did the late Efford Chabala have?Dont worry about the number of wives just worry about performance in bed and in goal.Try to live in Pretoria and see if you wont divorce your wife!lol.Gud luck bane.

    • Whats your problem? Why cant you also bring your five concubines under the same shelter instead of criss crossing town in order to reach them. After all Mweene is Tonga and he has land in Mkushi where he can keep his second wife.

Ma guys Polygamy is for men not boys. Mweene has faced hard shots in life.

  6. Are those words in todays Post really coming Katongo’s mouth?? Eeeeesh the big madala should be so jealous of Kangwa. He thinks he owns the national team??? That hatred will kill the national team esp the juju that Chris allegedly use… Lets support one another bane especially the young

  7. its in todays post.chris shud give chance to the sate sate’s,kangwa’s,sunzu’s ,chisamba’s of this world 2 carry on.the madalas did there part and i congrate them than ku koselela vinthu vamene sibangakwanise.ba chris there’s tym 4 every thing.olo mugabe, obama, ba za chokapo.gaddafi ali kuti?
